After nearly two years of hard work (and a lot of procrastination), this behemoth is finally over!!! Enjoy the disney Hercules meme!

The mascot head hides a lot of it but I wanted to play with the idea of Player changing gender presentation every panel. All the Nightmare Chirithies accessories are recolors by yours truly because I love my evil kitty.

Blaine, Sigurd, Player and Nightmare Chirithy belong to Square Enix and likely Disney.

I designed this "Station of Repose" for Atlas back in 2022, and when I posted the "Can You Do It?" artwork on Bluesky, DarkOdin asked about modding it into KH3.

Isn't this super cool? I really want to see it in motion now!

The white outline of the portraits looks like shining silver here.

The way the sky glows is really amazing. You can see a subtle 3D effect on the 'metal' structure lines.

I wish the red inks i have didn't all have a green sheen/tone to them for some reason from this set on. Even the standers would dry with green parts and its not cause of my brushes. They all just have green in them for some reason.

So the reason I was going through all my old writing was to find this specific KH3 speculation fic that I wrote a super long time ago. I remember it being better than it is but there were some highlights outside of the army of OCs and needless interpersonal drama.

Case in point: this angry little build-a-bear of a Nightmare Chirithy

His name is Nirithy and he’s a pathetic little bastard

He showed up in a lot of scenes with Kairi and I feel like this was the dynamic I was going for with them

I just felt compelled to draw them since Nirithy is the only thing I remember from this old fic 😂

Esperithies – Chaos

In the leadup to Nightmare Chirithy’s 10th anniversary next March, I’m gonna put my favourite evil kitty into FF12 Esper costumes each 13th of the month. :3 The first one is the Taurus Esper, Chaos.

I have 1000% already said this but: Nightmare Chirithy NEEDS to be in Missing Link. They have to be. They literally have to be.

The dark road exposition about missing link's 'in my second life' thing is SUCH a good explanation for the reality of nightmare chirithy existing/Player having two chirithies like they did, and the IMPLICATION of nightmare chirithy saying 'nearby' about where their partner was, and how Nightmare Chirithy fades and talks about meeting again another time...

The fact that nightmare chirithies' ENTIRE THING is trying to get Player to NOT leave their friends behind/become a dandelion, and talking about how it sounds noble, but 'aren't you just leaving your friends behind'?

like. it reads as 'the player/blue robes in missing link has so many regrets/negative feelings about whatever the hell happens in missing link their chirithy gets actively corrupted by the darkness in their heart, even if Player has control over it Personally' to me.

I'll make a more comprehensive post about this but like. The fact Nightmare Chirithy isn't in KHDR with the lore stuff made me sad but it makes it be all the more reason why they Should be in Missing Link.

POV you wake up from the wildest dream of your life, utterly exhausted and you could have sworn there was suppose to be a war but it didn’t happen. Now your boss is gone and apparently your friends who disappeared for a few months are now in charge.

I don’t believe they’d mess with Player’s memories just to not contact them until the conversation with Lauriam. I have full confidence that Skuld would have dragged Ephemer to meet with the player again after they recovered. From player perspective they really just left them to join the dandelions and for months had no contact with them until they get called out for the meeting. Or even then not making time to visit and probably passing messages through Chirithy. Imagine the amount of nightmares Player have. Like seeing player almost dead must have shocked their system. It’s why Ephemer agrees to alternate the rest of the survivors memories but I’d think they’d be a bit more protective if they weren’t so busy with union leader duties.

I just want them to have fun together when their life is not in the line. We all got the duo life changing journey let them be a trio.

If Riku's canonically a Dream Eater, then it stands to reason he'd look like one in Monstropolis yeah?? (monster-Sora already looks like a Chirithy, notice)

Anyways some design notes

He's the same (or adjacent) species as Dean Hardscrabble from Monsters University-- though not a centipede taur for Reasons

(SquareEnix probably prefers consistent proportions across world specific models to make rigging easier, and therefore would not design him Like That)

His wings and elytra are at his waist since from my observation, they like to put things at waist length in Riku's designs. When folded flat against the thigh it looks like pockets.

He would use the lower wings mainly for gliding, to generate extra lift (given the length of his tail)

I'm debating moving the position of the Spirit sigil to his back, between his wings-- 1) that is consistent with its placement in DDD, plus 2) his wings would also contextualize it like a Nightmare
