Future Play by Posts I’d Like to GM:
(Assuming I ever get the time to run the ones I am currently GMing, anyways.)
Delta Green, the X-Cell Casefiles: a massive game of Delta Green where many, many players make up to 4 characters each, and use them all together to run various missions and opps against the horrors of the mythos. Multiple games of lightning fast short stories played out nice and easy, slotting specific characters into specific jobs, with an emphasis on growing “X-Cell” as a unit and its own entity within Delta Green. Possibility for more than one GM to really run it as a multi-game campaign. Possibility Status: Ain’t happening.
The Yellow King RPG, Episode 1- Paris: American art students live and work in a prestigious art school in 1895 Paris. Strange happenings, leering figures, and whispers of an underground literary movement in the school stir the player characters into poking their nose where they really shouldn’t have. Can a bunch of plucky artsy kids take down a memetic virus infecting reality itself? Well, they can damn well try, and write a sweet poem about it in the process. Possibility: could happen if time works out.
Wrath & Glory- Wardens of the Nihilus: a campaign focusing on a strike team of Imperial elites sent out by Lord Commander Dante, Warden of the Imperium Nihilus himself. Teir 4 campaign putting the players to the test against the worst of the worst of the Dark Imperium. Possibility: Once everything else is over, sure.
Warhammer Fantasy 4th Ed, A Vision of the End: A group of adventurers are confronted with the death of all things as Morrslieb’s full fell light show them glimpses of the near future. With the End Times, or possibly the Storm of Chaos, looming on the hurizon, the band heads out to give their everything to save their world. Possibility: Big maybe, leaning to not gonna happen.
Drama System- Lords of the Chapter: A 40k game using Robin D. Laws’ Hillfolk Drama System. A five to seven player game featuring the power struggles and heroism of Space Marine Chapter Lords. From the Master of Recruits to the Chapter Master himself, all stand to gain or lose from a new age of political strife within the heart of a dying Chapter. Possibility: A Dream, an Impossible Dream.

The West Parry Sound Detachment, OPP Emergency Response Team, three Canine Units, Marine Unit, OPP Aviation Services, and the OPP Underwater Search & Recovery Unit were all dispatched to search for the missing kid.
According to an August 13 news announcement, the small youngster was discovered deceased, and "no foul play is suspected."
Everett Freeman went missing on August 12 and was last seen around 3 p.m.
Korey Freeman, the father, told CTV News that the family had gone camping on Thursday night.
The couple admitted they are "more broken and shattered" than ever imagined possible and feel "more loved and cared for than ever before."
Korey and Amberley Freeman thanked everyone involved in the search for their son in a joint Facebook post.
They are currently asking for prayers for Everett's younger sister.

From NASA Earth Observatory Image of the Day; April 12, 2018:
Shipping Responds to Arctic Ice Decline
In late March 2018, scientists from the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) and NASA reported that Arctic sea ice had reached its annual maximum extent. Once again, the ice cover was well below average. The four smallest maxima in the satellite record have all occurred in the past four years, continuing a decades-long trend of shrinking ice in the Arctic Ocean and surrounding waterways.
The annual maximum and minimum ice extents for the Arctic region have become steadily smaller over the past 40 years, and the percentage of thick, multi-year ice has been shrinking considerably. This thinning and retreating ice has opened the Arctic Ocean to new opportunities, but also serious environmental concerns. Shipping traffic fits into both categories.
The map above shows the average concentration of Arctic sea ice on March 17, 2018, when it reached the annual maximum. All white-shaded areas had an ice concentration of at least 15 percent (the minimum at which satellites give a reliable measurement), and span a total area that scientists refer to as the “ice extent.” Ice cover peaked at 14.48 million square kilometers (5.59 million square miles), the second lowest maximum on record and 1.16 million square kilometers (448,000 square miles) below the 1981 to 2010 average. The animated line plot below shows Arctic sea ice extent in every March since 1979.
Tumblr media
The effects of declining sea ice have rippled throughout the Arctic region and the world. Plants, animals, plankton, and people are being forced to adapt to warmer summers and winters and to more open water. Atmospheric and ocean-circulation patterns are also changing, moving the jet streams and stirring up unusual weather in the high- and mid-latitudes.
The disappearing ice is also changing the shipping industry. In August 2017, a newly designed tanker with a hardened hull became the first merchant ship to sail across the Arctic Ocean without the aid of an icebreaker. The Christophe de Margerietraveled from Norway to South Korea in 19 days, nearly a week faster than the traditional trip through the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal.
It took just six months to top that feat. In February 2018, a tanker carrying liquid natural gas (the Eduard Toll) cruised through mid-winter ice cover from South Korea to Sabetta terminal (northern Russia) to France.
Tumblr media
This map shows unique ship visits to Arctic waters between September 1, 2009, and December 31, 2016. The map was created through a collaboration led by Paul Arthur Berkman, director of the science diplomacy center at Tufts University, and Greg Fiske, a geospatial analyst at the Woods Hole Research Center. The team mapped and analyzed more than 120 million data points compiled by SpaceQuest, a company that designs microsatellites that can monitor the track Automatic Identification System (AIS) signals from ships.
Berkman, Fiske, and colleagues have found that the mean center of shipping activity moved 300 kilometers north and east—closer to the North Pole—over the 7-year span. They were particularly surprised to find more small ships, such as fishing boats, wading farther into Arctic waters. The team also plotted the AIS ship tracks against sea ice data from NSIDC and found that ships are encountering ice more often and doing so farther north each year.
Russia, China, Canada, the United States, and Iceland are leading a flotilla of nations preparing for more shipping activity in the Arctic. The Northwest Passage through Canada and the Northern Sea Route, or Northeast Passage, north of Russia and Siberia are both valued because they could significantly shorten ship transit times between Asia, Europe, and North America. But scientists and environmental advocates have serious concerns about pollution, oil spills, and disturbances to marine life, among other possible impacts. Then there is the danger to the lives of sailors plying icy waters with poor navigation charts.
Berkman is the coordinator and lead investigator of Pan-Arctic Options, an interdisciplinary, international effort to “synthesize natural and social science research, leverage future scenario planning activities, and create geospatial maps, building common interests with practical governance options (without advocacy) that will promote sustainable development of the Arctic.” The group of researchers and policy specialists provides objective information that can guide the placement of infrastructure and the management of activities such as search and rescue and pollution response.
Whether open Arctic water is a boon for shipping, it remains bad news for the Arctic environment as we have known it. “Arctic sea ice cover continues to be in a decreasing trend, and this is connected to the ongoing warming of the Arctic,” said Claire Parkinson, a climate scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. “It’s a two-way street: the warming means less ice is going to form, and more ice is going to melt. But also, because there is less ice, less of the Sun’s radiation is reflected off of Earth, and this contributes to the warming.”

Well, once again, a lonely protoss carrier flies around and like Bob Ross would once have said,”Every bird needs a nest!”. Opps:” Everyone needs a friend!”, sorry!
Instead of painting a second carrier, wich would be boring to watch and would not be an example of high creativity, I painted a small protoss base in there! But exept the nexus, there are no production buildings in there, only techbuildings. Mighty psionic protoss warriors and spell casters, high templers, can,t be found on the whole surface of this canvas, but an archon... well 2 high templers merged into archon, that where they gone XD. There are any stalkers or robotic units in this painting, atthough there are 2 buildings of the protoss race associated with them. Why there are no stalkers or immortals collosai on this bilding....?!-- because “there is no bathroom!”-
This post is related to the game starcraft 2. For all thouse people, without any clue, who protoss are and what a carrier ist: it,s a small alien colony, or fast constructed alien city, where there build new spaceships to attack humans. A carrier is a most powerfull and large spaceship among alien spacecraft of the protoss race
. Protoss also train normal troops, but there are not wearing rifles or grenades like contemporary marines: their advanced technology allows them to send intelligent high tech robots to the balltefield or instead of marines they make very tough gyus with 2 laser blades mounted to the ends of their arms. I think, I should better write a book instead of all thouse posts. XD
Every painting is a self-contained universe. If I would give a detailed explanation to each of essential element from all of my paintings, 1000 sides of text would not reach

65 Questions You’ve Probably Never Been Asked…
aka ‘mel gets bored and does an early 2010s style facebook survey’
Tumblr media
First thing you wash in the shower? my chest/torso probably.
What color is your favorite hoodie? need more hoodies lol, i hate all of my current ones so i just perpetually wear t-shirts/tank tops/etc
Would you kiss the last person you kissed again? probably not. but i’d be a fool to rule out anything at all.
Do you plan outfits? lately i try to but it doesn’t really. work.
How are you feeling RIGHT now? mm bored but really nervous about actually posting this for people to see. i’ll probably look vain or something but i’m honestly just bored and feeling a little chatty and like talking about myself.
What’s the closest thing to you that’s red? just before you reach the red strawberry pin on the floor next to my bed there’s an arc and a question mark scrawled on a piece of paper in red ink.
Tell me about the last dream you remember having? um i’m really bad memory. i just remember it was something involving people from my real life, all in a situation that presented itself as vaguely realistic.
Did you meet anybody new today? do customers count? if not, then no.
What are you craving right now? well. nothing, until i was asked. now i’m craving physical affection and oh lord something else.
Do you floss? think of how often you go to a restaurant named luby’s or jim’s. now think about how often you go to mcdonald’s, or order from pizza hut. how often i floss is how often i go to luby’s. i’ve never been to jim’s but i’m thinking about going.
What comes to mind when I say cabbage? garbage pail kids
Are you emotional? very much. barely at all some moments. it’s the depression.
Have you ever counted to 1,000? no haha
Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it? i bit it once just to see how fools are living like. if you don’t go down on that cone like a cock every single time from start to finish then what are you doing with your life?
Do you like your hair? it’s alright but i’m trying to like it more. i often feel like cutting it all off so i’m trying to stop that. but i’m also not. who knows, maybe i’ll cut it all off tomorrow. who knows.
Do you like yourself? probably not. but. i still feel myself sometimes, in some ways. like now. like tonight. i will not go into more detail, no, no way.
Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush? um lol HA. that actually made me really uncomfortable to think about asdjkngnjkdf lol
What are you listening to right now? myself typing, clicking, and tapping. also a/c units running outside and people messing with the trunks of their cars, probably. opp, some guy just randomly sang something.
Are your parents strict? my mother wanted to be, but in the end she was just very... overbearing. i think ‘opinionated’ is the word if we’re not using loaded language. my dad didn’t live with us but whenever me and my brother saw him he always tried to compensate and be the ‘cool guy’ and buy us stuff and take us places but i think deep down he wanted to beat our tails. now he’s just kind of there. lol
Would you go sky diving? lord help me. i have to, don’t i?
Do you like cottage cheese? yeah it’s cool and it goes with EVERYTHING. though i probably won’t be eating it so much since i’m restricting the dairy and gluten in my diet to... near-nonexistent levels.
Have you ever met a celebrity? local radio personality. i was like 12. my mom and him talked like real people and i just kind of stood there in awe. we listened to him almost every day. he will never not be a celebrity to me.
Do you rent movies often? redbox is cool but i’ve kind of been shying away from it lately. it just seems like a waste of money when things like the internet exist. redbox is more of an impulse thing at this point, like i’ll see it walking out of walmart or h-e-b or whatever and i’ll see something i haven’t watched yet and i’ll just. ooh hmm okay checkout checkout checkout where’s my card.
Is there anything sparkly in the room you’re in? yeah um i don’t even have to look it’s probably that bottle of victoria’s secret glitter lotion i have on the floor. now THAT was an impulse buy.
How many countries have you visited? only 1. venezuela. i guess technically panama doesn’t count since it was just the layover coming back from venezuela? i would probably normally count it but i had contracted some kind of weird traveler’s sickness by that point and i was barely even... ‘there,’ if you know what i mean. i slept, ate, and sicked.
Have you made a prank phone call? i participated in one but? i mostly find it funny to hear other people do them.
Ever been on a train? yup. lol.
Brown or white eggs? um brown are probably better for you but who cares?
Do you have a cell phone? mm
Do you use chap stick? sometimes. it makes me feel cool and good. i love the fruity flavors and how soft they have your lips feeling.
Do you own a gun? naw. not even a water gun, son.
Can you use chop sticks? in a symbolic sense
Who are you going to be with tonight? probably some online prostitute. ...i would say if i had money.
Are you too forgiving? well not anymore. i’d say i’m about average. i’m still pretty forgiving though, in the sense that i don’t really hold grudges.
Ever been in love? ugh yeah f moving on
What is your best friend(s) doing tomorrow? what best friend(s)
Ever have cream puffs? yum. them boys go *softcrunch* then *pooof*
Last time you cried? lol it just kind of happens and then i mostly forget about it. it wasn’t really... recently, though. probably a week or two ago.
What was the last question you asked? what best friend(s)
Favorite time of the year? winter. summer. tax season. who cares.
Do you have any tattoos? mm. yeah.
Are you sarcastic? i’m less ‘edgy sarcastic’ these days and more ‘please shut up.’ i guess i make really offbeat jokes sometimes that can be considered sarcasm with actual sarcasm bleeding through occasionally?
Have you ever seen The Butterfly Effect? if i have, i can’t remember the plot. probably not. any good? wait, you’re a survey, you can’t answer. uhh, i think it’ll be good.
Ever walked into a wall? probably. probably more than once.
Favorite color? i like purple. any shade of it really. i also like a lot of other colors quit putting me in a box lol
Have you ever slapped someone? in a high school play in 11th grade. i... still get sad thinking about that play, even though the memory of the Big Slap is a lighthearted one. the guy i had to slap was a real cutie about it, even though i had to slap him really hard and many times in rehearsal to make it believable.
Is your hair curly? yeah. always. eternally.
What was the last CD you bought? um. the disney dream duet cd? the gurren lagann radio cd? kidz bop 34? i honestly can’t remember. probably kidz bop 34 though since i pretty much listed those in order lol.
Do looks matter? if i don’t know you yet. but we can change that. quickly. trust me.
Could you ever forgive a cheater? only because i’d want to be forgiven. but i guess if i’m being honest, i’d have to have my idiot cap on that day to forgive someone who cheated on me, even if they apologized and cried/swore they’d never do it again, that it was a mistake, etc etc. wow i’m a real mean one. but i guess at the end of the day whether or not i forgive them just comes down to whether or not i believe their apology/repentance speech.
Is your phone bill sky high? *yui hirasawa voice* SKY HIGH!
Do you like your life right now? oo lol
Do you sleep with the TV on? no, not really. unless i fall asleep. but i don’t do it on purpose like a lot of people do.
Can you handle the truth? CAN YOU SMELLLLL, WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN’?! me neither, but he’s still cookin’ it. and pretty soon, that meal’s gonna be served.
Do you have good vision? oh no. no sweetie.
Do you hate or dislike more than 3 people? no. i don’t like doing that.
How often do you talk on the phone? whenever i have to. never really for non-business things except to check in with my sister. as far as skype/discord stuff goes, not often. i’m pretty much a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants person when it comes to dusting off that old mic and chatting with someone with voiceboxes.
The last person you held hands with? am i supposed to name them or like...? *awkwardly skirts the question*
What are you wearing? undah wear.
What is your favorite animal? cats probably. marine animals are pretty cool, too. i LOVE manatees. pretty much all animals are lovely and gifts to the world.
Where was your profile picture taken at? i had just finished battling some beastmen and they ran off into the sunset screaming something i couldn’t really make out and i was feeling really awesome.
Can you hula hoop? i’ve never really done it successfully, no. i think you either have to be in shape, or have rhythm. i’m not in the greatest shape right now, and i don’t have rhythm.
Do you have a job? yea
What was the most recent thing you bought? a garden salad with fajita chicken at chacho’s. mmmmmmmm. oh and whatever my sister ate. hot wings and freakin french fries
Have you ever crawled through a window? maybe lol. rip this survey

Newsletter Summer 2017
If you have not yet paid your dues for 2017, please contact one of the Directors to collect your dues.  The money collected is used to pay insurance for the Association, our FOCA membership and the balance is held for future projects such as legal assistance for fighting gravel pits.  Please note that although the Association will always act in the best interests of all parties associated with McCullough Lake, some future information may be sent to paid members only.
Boating – We seem to have had many boaters enjoy the lake this summer, whether power boats, sail boards, kayak or canoes.  Water is high.  Any one attempting a river run knows that the river was deep and fast!  On the down side, there were many boaters seen not obeying safe boating guidelines and regulations.  Just as a reminder, I’ve included this link to the Safe Boating Guide for your review.  http://www.tc.gc.ca/media/documents/marinesafety/TP-511e.pdf.  I’ve also attached a bulletin regarding boat speed and boat wake and speed when close to shore and allowable driving age.  It is important that if you are boating you obey these regulations, not only to prevent injury to persons or watercraft or shoreline, but also to prevent receiving significant fines that the OPP marine unit may hand out.  We had one of the lake’s swans killed this summer when a water-skier dropped the boat line when landing at the dock.  His line flew through the air and became entangled with the swan’s neck.  This was most certainly not an intentional act, but sad nevertheless.  On the upside, this incident would have been tragic if a child or adult swimming or the on shore had been injured or killed.  So let’s each learn from this incident, know the Safe Boating rules and obey them.  As the OPP attended the scene, they have advised that they will be spending more time on or at the lake to enforce safe boating.  If you see boaters acting in an unsafe or irresponsible manner, the OPP ask that you call them at 1-888-310-1122 and they will respond.
Wildlife – We seem to have had an unusually large number of snapping and painted turtles killed on the roads around the lake this year.  Perhaps it was because there were more turtles migrating across roads at the same time, as they had a smaller window of time in which to lay eggs due to the weather pattern.  If you see an injured turtle, please pick it up and put it in a safe dark place (like a box) on a dry or slightly damp towel.  Do not offer it food or water.  Contact the Ontario Turtle Trauma Centre at 705-741-5000 or [email protected].  They may ask you to take a photo and send it to them to assess the injured animal’s rehabilitation potential.  They have over 300 drivers who can organize a ride for the injured turtle to someone that can offer immediate help or transport the turtle to the Centre near Peterborough.  Remember it is illegal to remove any wildlife from the lake area and it is important to report persons poaching, moving or injuring wildlife immediately by calling the MNRF’s hotline at 1-877-847-7667.  Our lake’s diversity and health depend on the natural wildlife continuing to flourish.  (This includes fishing violations.)  I’ve attached an article from Ontario Nature regarding the end of Snapping Turtle Hunt that you might find interesting. https://www.ontarionature.org/connect/blog/at-long-last-an-end-to-the-snapping-turtle-hunt/.
Also, it is recommended by wildlife experts that we do not feed wildlife as the population sustains itself and migrates according to the natural food sources that are available.  Feeding song birds (which I’m guilty of) can attract rodents and larger animals after the rodents and dirty birdfeeders can poison and kill the feeding birds.  Good intentions are appreciated, but feeding our beautiful swans is not recommended.  For years, Nick and Brad Law have taken on the responsibility of looking after the swans during the winter by keeping them off the lake and up the river and providing winter food if needed.  As the Law family raised the swans with the appropriate MNRF permits, they have the experience to know what’s best for the swans, so please defer to the Law family when wishing to interact with the swans. Cottagers that feed the swans run the risk of having the swans hang out at their docks which puts the swans in danger from predators, people and boats.  Geese are also attracted to swan food, so those cottagers may find more geese in their general area which can also be a nuisance.
Off-road vehicles – We have heard of many close calls this summer between automobiles and 4 wheeled ATV type vehicles.  Both auto and ATV drivers are encouraged to drive cautiously on the lake road to prevent accidents.  While dirt motorcycles are not allowed on township roads, ATV’s are allowed.  However the vehicle must be a legal ATV, must have a properly licensed and insured driver and helmets are mandatory.  I have attached a PDF of info from the Ministry of Transportation’s website for your information.  On one recent weekend some ATV’s (or dirt bikes) were using the boat launch park and did quite a bit of damage to the parking lot and the park area.  The Township has fixed up the parking lot but does not have the manpower to fix the park area.  A volunteer group from the lake will be called upon to help fix the park area.  The Township will be providing some more rocks to protect the park area from the parking lot area, top soil and grass seed and our volunteer group will wheel the dirt, rake it out and spread the seed.  Please contact Nick Law – 519-794-4504 if you would like to assist.  A date is yet to be determined but we will email anyone interested in helping when supplies have arrived.  If you see ATV drivers acting in an unsafe or irresponsible manner, the OPP ask that you call them at 1-888-310-1122 and they will respond.
Lake Health – Our lake steward, Jeff Slomke, has been busy monitoring our lake water.  Jeff and other residents were concerned about the Algae blooms in the lake this year.  Jeff contacted Dorset Environmental Science Centre and they advised him that we have Filamentous Green Algae, probably more plentiful this year due to the run off from all the rain water.  This is a quote from Dorset Environmental’s response to Jeff:
“What you’re describing sounds a lot like a green alga commonly called “elephant snot algae”. When it’s thriving, filamentous green algae appears as a large, green blob of slender threads near the bottom of the lake. In late summer and fall, clumps die and float to the surface. These clumps of decay can trap gases produced by decomposition and float to the surface. High temperatures can also cause more growth of this algae. Whether the summer is hot or not, filamentous algae can grow in areas with excellent water quality, but the good news is that it doesn’t produce toxins.
Description: are unicellular or multicellular and may form filaments that range from several millimetres to a metre in length. They can be found free-floating in shallow water on the bottom near shore or attached to submerged objects like rocks. They are typically green in colour, but can vary in shade depending on age and nutrient content. Some species form colonies that appear as cottony clumps, while others form thready, silky, slippery masses that are slimy to the touch.  Blooms: usually occur in the spring after heavy runoff or in the summer following hot spells and may appear as clumps or dense mats that float on or just beneath the surface of the water. Blooms can be a nuisance as they may produce a grassy or unpleasant odour and/or impede recreational activities.”
Lake health is of utmost importance to all cottagers and Shaun Anthony of Saugeen Conservation Authority has suggested reading the “Shore Primer”.  You can download this informative brochure at http://www.muskokawaterweb.ca/images/dfo/ShorePrimer-English.pdf .  Note the types of shoreline plants that help filter and build up the shoreline if you are planning some restoration.  Saugeen Conservation also sent along a flyer on healthy septic systems.  I’ve attached the flyer and it contains links to other sites you may wish to review.
I hope to send out regular newsletters whenever something of interest crops up.  If you have issue you’d like to include, kindly forward it to me or give me a call!
