I like to imagine the Oak family having a very convoluted and mixed language that's just a mashup of English, Spanish, Elvish, and Druidic that is absolutely indecipherable to anyone else that overhears it

If you think about it the Doodler has just as long of a history with the Stamplers as with the Oaks. Hildy is the one that got banished with it and her bloodline was tied to it, but Stud banished them in the first place. It was Ron that the Doodler tried to save and Willy that she accidentally grabbed, all culminating in Scary being the one to commune with them in the end. What I’m saying is the Oaks and the Stamplers go hand in hand my faves stay winning the Normal Scary friendship reigns supreme

currently sick over the contrast of the last time we really saw henry and his boys interacting.
end of s1 henry is so eager to wrap up both of his beautiful boys in a hug because no matter what they did, he's ready to forgive them. it doesn't matter if they're angry at him, because he loves them wholly anyway, because it's gonna be alright.
now? now they've found something he can't overlook. he could excuse a lot of their behavior but something broke the camel's back. now all they get is a cold handshake and a halfhearted hug. it's not alright anymore.

thinking again about a world where Normal is some sort of split-off-from-the-Doodler being again except this time about how it would make a cool circle with how the doodler was framed in season 1
like, before Dood was a character the Doodler was a representation of generational trauma in the Oak family, something that Henry wanted to move past or get rid of. But it was more than that, it was a representation of inherited character traits, something that was either a blessing or a curse depending on who you asked; see: Beary). But because it was only assholes that seemed to see the Doodler as something positive to have in the family it was easy to be on Henry's side. Even easier when the Doodler is released and creates monsters and hurts people and warps the world in pretty objectively terrible ways.
but then the Doodler became not just a representation of generational trauma, but a personification of it. Now we know that Dood doesn't want to hurt anyone, it's just never learned how to do anything else. Normal sees the Doodler as someone that doesn't have to be terrible.
Now the thing the Doodler most often represents in the Oak family is their anger. We never see Henry really learn to manage his anger productively; he never finds a solution for the Doodler. Sparrow is the same, shutting down any of his own outbursts as something bad that should be apologized for and forgotten; he and Lark explicitly train their kids to either kill the Doodler or forget about it entirely.
What this means for Normal, should Normal be the Doodler, is that the thing they have been trying to defeat or destroy is not their enemy. It's part of the family. And the only way for it to stop hurting people is for them to listen and to accept the parts of themselves that they don't like and to change.
something something trying to protect your children from your own failings and in the process robbing your children of their potential; 'just because the only thing you ever cut with an axe is yourself doesn't mean I can't be a lumberjack' or something

I’m sorry but I’ll never not be hung up on sparrow naming his children HERO and NORMAL. that’s fucking unhinged.
like hero is one thing. she’s the first. but if I were any of the other dads and sparrow told me he named his second kid normal, I would contemplate murder I think

hey 👋 wanna know something sad 😁
henry will live longer then his kids(maybe)
Barry(bearry) is half elf
Henry is 1/4 elf
And lark and sparrow are 1/8 elf
So henry rn when sparrow and lark are 30 something henry looks the same so either he will live to around when his kids die or out live them by a couple years
