Building Online Authority Through Off-Site Optimisation
In today’s digital world, having a beautiful website and well-written content isn’t enough to rank well on Google. To truly stand out in competitive search results, you need to build online authority—the trust and reputation your website earns across the web. That’s where off-site optimisation comes into play. This essential branch of SEO focuses on all the activities that happen outside your website but directly influence your visibility, credibility, and rankings.
In this blog, we’ll explore how off-site SEO builds online authority, why it matters, and the key strategies you can use to establish your brand as a trusted source in your industry. Whether you’re a startup trying to get noticed or an established business aiming for top-tier rankings, mastering off-site optimisation is your next critical step.
What Is Online Authority and Why It Matters
Online authority is a measure of how much trust, credibility, and influence your website has in the digital space. Search engines like Google assess authority based on signals such as backlinks, brand mentions, social proof, and the overall digital presence of your business. A high-authority site is more likely to rank well, earn traffic, and convert visitors because it is seen as a reliable resource.
Without authority, even the best content may struggle to gain traction. Off-site SEO strategies like earning backlinks from authoritative websites, getting featured in media, and being cited by influencers play a huge role in building this authority. Google’s algorithm gives more weight to websites that are mentioned or linked to by other trustworthy sources. In essence, the web “votes” on your expertise, and those votes build your reputation.
Backlinks: The Cornerstone of Off-Site Authority
Backlinks are arguably the most powerful factor in off-site SEO. They act as endorsements from other websites, signaling that your content is valuable and trustworthy. But not all backlinks are equal—those from relevant, authoritative sources carry far more weight than links from low-quality or unrelated sites.
The goal is to earn natural, editorial links—those that are placed within relevant content without being paid or forced. These links not only improve your rankings but also drive referral traffic and expose your brand to new audiences. Focus on building relationships with reputable websites, bloggers, and industry publications to secure high-quality backlinks that contribute to your site’s overall authority.
Digital PR and Brand Mentions
Beyond backlinks, brand mentions (linked or unlinked) also contribute to your online authority. When your brand is talked about across the internet—in news stories, podcasts, industry blogs, or social media—it reinforces your reputation as a trusted source. This is where digital PR becomes an essential off-site strategy.
Digital PR involves pitching stories, press releases, or expert commentary to relevant publications and journalists. When successful, you earn both visibility and credibility, often with a backlink attached. Even when no link is included, a well-placed mention tells search engines that your brand is active and influential in your niche. These mentions also build trust with users, who are more likely to engage with brands they recognize and see featured online.
Influencer Outreach and Thought Leadership
Influencer outreach helps expand your reach and boosts your online authority through association with trusted voices in your field. When an influencer or thought leader references your brand, content, or product, their credibility often transfers to you. This builds trust equity with both users and search engines.
Effective influencer strategies include co-creating content (e.g., interviews, guest posts), sponsoring expert roundups, or being featured on podcasts. Collaborating with industry influencers not only drives high-quality backlinks but also boosts brand recognition and trust. When executed authentically, influencer partnerships generate natural promotion and increase the likelihood of earning authoritative mentions from their followers and networks.
Social Signals and Community Engagement
While social media metrics like likes and shares aren’t direct ranking factors, they influence how widely your content is seen and shared—which often leads to backlinks and brand recognition. A strong social media presence amplifies your content, helps build a loyal audience, and creates opportunities for earned media exposure.
Off-site optimisation includes strategic use of platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Reddit to engage with your community, distribute content, and participate in discussions. Consistent social presence helps establish your brand as an authority in your niche. When people see your name regularly in conversations or helpful responses, it reinforces your credibility—even if it doesn’t directly influence Google rankings.
Local Citations and Business Listings
For businesses with a physical location or regional audience, building authority also includes local SEO tactics like managing citations and business directory listings. Accurate, consistent listings across platforms like Google Business Profile, Yelp, and Bing Places help search engines validate your legitimacy.
These local citations—which include your business name, address, and phone number (NAP)—act as trust signals that increase your visibility in local searches and map packs. An authoritative local presence not only brings more local traffic but also improves your chances of ranking for competitive terms. A professional off-site SEO strategy always includes monitoring, updating, and optimizing your citations to protect your brand’s online reputation.
Monitoring and Maintaining Your Authority Profile
Building authority is not a one-time task—it requires ongoing effort and vigilance. You need to consistently monitor your backlink profile to ensure your website is associated with trustworthy sources. Use tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Search Console to track new backlinks, analyze referring domains, and disavow toxic links.
Regular audits also help you understand which pages are attracting the most authority and which need support. Authority is dynamic—your competitors are always earning links and mentions too. By staying proactive and continuously earning high-quality signals, you maintain and grow your position in the digital hierarchy. Authority that’s monitored and nurtured consistently leads to stronger, more sustainable SEO performance.
Conclusion: Authority is Earned, Not Bought
In the realm of SEO, authority is the currency of trust. Off-site optimisation is the key to earning that authority through credible, external validation. By building relationships, earning high-quality backlinks, leveraging influencers, and maintaining a consistent digital footprint, your brand becomes a recognized and reliable presence in its niche.
youtube
It’s important to remember that true authority isn’t something you can buy or shortcut—it’s something you build with time, effort, and ethical practices. Off-site SEO is an investment in your long-term credibility and success. When done correctly, it not only improves rankings but also increases conversions, builds customer trust, and gives your brand a lasting advantage online.

web stuff is tricky for a couple reasons tbh. part of it is that we just. hate designing for mobile and hate the concept of designing mobile first, but hate the idea of a non-responsive website Even More somehow. This is petty, and partly because we feel like we Should know better ((basic) web dev was a sizeable part of our HnD after all), but the big one is that settling on any kind of like... theming for a site is really hard, and the odds of finishing any sizeable project before something changes in the system and suddenly we Hate that theming are slim at best.
The aspect priority stuff has had two major overhauls since we made this blog in what, december? and the way things are heading rn, it's due a third. and that's really difficult for us to manage? there are probably ways around it - creating a Brand(tm) style for AP the way we did with our main site might work? but that comes with it's own drawbacks, like the spectre of perceived professionalism haunting my nightmare and consuming my soul.
This is the sorta thing where, i'm definitely making it more complicated by being weird about it? but i don't know how to Not be weird about it. Hopefully we'll figure it out one day, I guess.
man so i'm peeking at my old notes on webbedsite and like. honestly? it's kinda cute! some of the criticism is valid (the title font IS pretty hard to read) but i remember how much we HATED this and how much we felt like we could Never get it to work or whatever and i'm like... no, this is Workable. you're just being mean about it lmao
#.txt#rambling again sorry#but this is something that's Really been Eating at me the last few months#where it's like... augh.#the other solution i'm considering is just. having different themes for the site?#you can even do that with CSS now. i might even get away without using (and learning) javascript.#one could argue that that isn't particularly practical but bby it is 2025.#building your own website from scratch is far from practical as it Is.#i can be silly goofy about this. as a treat. New Desktop Dash, No Bueno
Okay so, new dash layout on desktop.
As seems to be a common reaction: not a fan.
Let's talk about some of the issues:
1. Really visually cluttered
The new sidebar crowds out the dashboard content and the bright blue popup notifications (now at the side AND top) and create-post bar pull your eyes in different directions. There is no space for the eye to rest on anymore - it's all noise. The end result is that everything flattens - there's no focal point anymore.
It's also pretty overwhelming - even for someone like me - so I can't imagine it would be very user-friendly to someone who was photosensitive or struggled with visual overload (especially when paired with the high-contrast 'true blue' default site palette and animated icons for the changes-on-tumblr/staff-picks/trending buttons).
2. The activity pop-up now covers dashboard content
This is really bad from a usability standpoint. In the old layout the activity pop-up used to drop down over the recommended blogs sidebar. Now it actively gets in the way of looking at core content. The dash is why we are here, burying it like this is baffling.
The search bar now drops down over the recommended blogs banner instead, but where the old design had non-critical space on each side of the dashboard to visually allow both features to pop in, this new layout is way worse for efficiency. And for what? Having a rarely-used former drop-down menu now permanently active? The old banner with quick-links for the key use-features (notes, messages, askbox) made much more design sense.
It also means that the activity pop-up gets now completely covered by the blog pop-up that opens when you click the notification, so double demerit there. 0/10.
3. It's harder to navigate to the activity page, and the new page-stretch means you can't see new notes without scrolling down
That first bit is kind of a nitpick but cramming the 'See everything' link down at the bottom of a browser window isn't a great navigation choice. (Again, the visual signifiers and eye-direction in this new design are incredibly poor.)
That the main activity page now requires you to scroll to even see the top note due to the new display ratio is really egregious. It makes another key site feature just slightly less convenient and accessible in a very irritating way. Bad choice.
4. The new ratio pushes the Radar and Main Sponsored slot completely off-screen
This one is directed the tumblr staff: that's also a bad choice, guys. That's your main ad-slot for people loading into Tumblr so hiding it is going to hurt both your ad-impressions and your ability to promote the ad-free option. The new layout ratio also means that the in-dash ads are going to be a lot more invasively screen-filling - and let's be real most users will either add-block or leave before purchasing ad-free. I have no idea what the new layout is trying to achieve but if ad optimisation is the goal then this ain't it, chief.
To be honest I cannot comprehend the rationale for this change. I guess it's visually a bit more like Twitter... but that site is currently being demolished from the inside by poor management decisions so maybe it's not the best aesthetic to be aping.
Well then, what do?
Okay so, new dash bad. And so, in true Tumblr spirit: we complain. However, to get results we must deploy the art of kvetching productively.
If you want the old dash back (or at least, a better new-dash design that corrects some of these big weaknesses) what you should do is head over to https://www.tumblr.com/support and lodge a feedback ticket pointing out the problems. The more users who do that, the more likely you are to see an effective response.
Remember, tagging @staff and @support in posts won't fix this. There's no guarantee they'll see it among the notes barrage.
Also: please don't be rude or abusive when you lodge tickets. Whoever is manning those blogs and inboxes probably isn't the person who forced through this change. Save an intern, be polite.
Go forth in disgruntlement to keep this hellhole a hellhome.
#tumblr#tumblr problems#new dashboard#yes it's bad#but there is a way#I've already lodged tickets about it

DUDE DUDE DUDE I AM OBSESSED WITH THE STUFF YOU MADE OMFG. the wings and the claws im!!!! im feral rn. holy shit
do you have any advice on where to get started if someone were wanting to make something like that of their own? or just generally propmaking for cosplay stuff, god knows i need to find a way to make wings of Some Form to appease the hyperfixation lol
love this stuff it's so cool holy hell
Wow, hey thank you for the nice words :).
In terms of advice, I'd say just be prepared for random stuff to go wrong.
DOWN SCALE.
Unless you have the wide open space required to house an extra entity, I'd say down scale it and make the wing span smaller, because I literally cannot put these anywhere lol. Me and my friends were measuring them by an estimated version of Tessa's height, assuming she was an adult Australian (160cm) and not a dead child wearing robot. The original wing span ended up being almost three and a half Tessas. Down scaling is definitely recommended.

Then going on to material, I'm going to be honest, I don't really know what any good substitutes for what I've been using. The best thing I can think of would be like cutting up one of those big umbrellas you see in like outdoor seating areas because they are built to be sturdy and light enough to to transport places. The blade part of the wings were made out of cheapo yoga mats, they are not Eva foam(idk if Eva foam is more expensive, but cheapo worked for me), they are some kind of material similar to insulation sheets just slightly thicker, I have the cutting patterns on the blog (the mats are 140x50x1cm) . Springs are something similar to "helical extension springs"(they pull things together, like trampoline springs) the strength of these will vary depending on how and if you downscale the over all project.

The general wing mechanism had to be redone a little bit but the new design is just based off an umbrella. It's good to use when you fold it in that the sections form a square in between the joints as a reference because it makes it easier to translate to the wings when drilling holes. The grey moving bar is on the outside now👇

I'll be reall, this part👆 needs a bit of precision. The two holes at the bottom have to be the exact same distance and stuff as each other so the mechanism works. You could probably find a way to optimise the mechanism but I did not (this was just easier for me at least)
The way all the blade parts go up is kinda cheesing it if you want all individual parts to work perfectly without extra materials. I was tying a string together on the bars and it worked to space the wings as I wanted to.

All in all, I'm going to be making a big ol summary post detailing all the stuff whenever I'm done fully.
Until then, I hope this helps, good luck to you and don't be afraid to make mistakes :).
(it's only a mistake if you give up)
Prop making and cosplay in general are things I probably can't comment on because I have never done cosplay and most of the prop things, I make are made out of random trash I can find that would cost dumb money if you went out to buy it new.

These for example are gutter or house liner plastic that was left over from a building site (gloves were uber cheap) and they were tedious and smelly to cut out and melt over an open flame, but if you want to do this too wear a mask for saftey unless you don't care about your lungs (which you should)
The claws were a lot easier to make. Easy enough that I made two sets (I think I went through the process of making these already)

How Can You Improve Conversion Rates in Digital Marketing?
In digital marketing, conversion rates are the ultimate measure of success. Whether you’re aiming to increase sales, generate leads, or drive downloads, improving conversion rates ensures that your marketing efforts yield tangible results. Knowing the ways to effectively increase your conversion rate is essential for achieving these goals and optimising your campaigns.
This blog explores actionable tips and strategies to improve conversion rates, helping you create a seamless user experience that encourages your audience to take action. By implementing these strategies, supported by experts like a CRO agency, you can transform website visitors into loyal customers.
What Is Conversion Rate and Why Does It Matter?
A conversion rate is the percentage of users who complete a desired action on your website, such as making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, or filling out a contact form. High conversion rates indicate that your audience finds your website engaging and your offerings compelling. It’s a key metric for measuring the success of your digital marketing campaigns.
If you’re looking for tips to increase your conversion rate, start by analysing your user journey and identifying potential barriers. Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) focuses on enhancing the user experience and aligning it with your audience’s intent.
Ways to Effectively Increase Your Conversion Rate
Here are proven strategies to boost your conversion rates in digital marketing:
1. Simplify Your Website Design
A clutter-free, user-friendly website improves navigation and encourages visitors to stay longer. Ensure your site is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and mobile-friendly. Use clear call-to-action (CTA) buttons to guide users toward the desired actions.
2. Optimise Landing Pages
Landing pages play a crucial role in conversions. Focus on:
Crafting compelling headlines.
Using high-quality visuals.
Highlighting benefits with concise, persuasive copy.
Test different layouts and designs using A/B testing tools to identify what resonates best with your audience.
3. Leverage Social Proof
Showcasing reviews, testimonials, and case studies builds trust and reassures potential customers of your credibility. People are more likely to convert when they see others have had positive experiences.
4. Improve Page Load Speeds
Page load speed directly impacts user experience. Slow-loading pages can frustrate visitors, causing them to leave before taking action. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to diagnose and improve performance.
5. Personalise User Experiences
Tailored experiences make users feel valued. Use tools to analyse user behaviour and deliver personalised recommendations, dynamic content, and targeted offers.
6. Streamline Forms
If your goal is lead generation, simplify your forms. Ask only for essential information to reduce friction and increase the likelihood of users completing the form.
7. Collaborate with Experts
Partnering with a conversion rate optimisation agency in Australia can help you implement advanced CRO techniques. Experts bring a wealth of experience, ensuring you maximise your marketing ROI.
Best Practices for Conversion Rate Optimisation
Test Regularly: Continuously test and tweak elements such as CTAs, images, and layouts.
Focus on Customer Pain Points: Address common objections or concerns within your content.
Analyse Data: Use analytics tools to track user behaviour and identify drop-off points.
Follow Up: Implement retargeting campaigns to engage users who didn’t convert initially.
Conclusion
Improving conversion rates in digital marketing requires a combination of user-centric design, data-driven insights, and effective strategies. By focusing on the ways to effectively increase your conversion rate, you can achieve better results and drive significant growth. For expert guidance, consider collaborating with CRO agencies or seasoned SEO marketing professionals who can help elevate your campaigns.

Site blogs - five things to try
There is a lot of work that needs to be done in order to make the site blog feature worth the time and effort it takes to regularly create content for them, and most of that work is work that we as a community cannot do. I could go into details but the people who can make the difference already know what needs to be done, or at least I would assume they do. And there are many people within WoX that are far better qualified than me to explain why the current setup doesn't work.
So I'm gonna focus on the things that we as a community CAN do to optimise the site blogs. It's not gonna solve all the problems and magically improve SEO and site visitors overnight but it's small steps in the right direction and it could pay off in the long run. Worth a try, right?

ONE: every blog needs a purpose The overall purpose of the site blog feature (at least in my understanding, but I could be wrong) is to showcase the site to "outsiders" who don't have accounts and can't access all the actual site content, motivating them to create an account to discover more. It's a part of the site that we can link to from our social medias to show what we do and have to offer, and hopefully make non-users join as new users.
Example: make blog posts about site activities, show the world what your site has to offer. Combine with testimonies and examples from users, such as "I love reading homework from this one person who always makes their character make terrible dad jokes at the end of their RP!" to entice new users to join and experience it for themselves.
Wanna read the other four points? Click "keep reading" below!
TWO: longterm planning and strategy A blog without content isn't worth much, and producing that content takes time. But content without a strategy or plan isn't going to get you very far. I've already suggested blog posts about site activities and inspiring newcomers to become users, so consider that the first part of your plan. The second part of your plan should be SEO, search engine optimisation. Basically, pick keywords that people are likely to search for in relation to your fandom. The more keywords and key phrases your site contains in total, the more likely it is to be in the top search results. PS! This isn't just a SoMe and blog thing, SEO is something teachers and journalists need to work on too!
Example: "Who is [greek god]?" with a presentation of the character. Squeeze in your keywords as much as possible without making it feel fake and cringe. If it feels like an A.I.-generated SEO slop, that is what your readers will think your site is.
THREE: social media All site users will get a notification about new blog posts, but if you recall the first point you'll know that it's not the existing site users that you're aiming for. They already have accounts; it's the potential new users you're really after. But no account means no notification about new blog posts. Unless you make one, that is, on your social media profiles. Let your blog content and social media content work together, directing people from one to the other. Use CTAs (call to action), links and "clickbait" for optimal effect.
Example: on social media, make a post about an interesting shop item. Use the item picture, write a brief caption like "you're handed one of these but you have no idea what to do with it. help! don't worry, today we're sharing the instruction manual on our blog: worldofsomething.com/blog". On the blog, remember to link to your social medias (and your site!) at the end of every blog post. SEO isn't just about keywords, it's also about links.
FOUR: graphic profile Freestyling is fun, but sometimes you need to limit yourself to what works best. It's a good idea to set up a few basic templates with simple designs that match the rest of the site and gives a professional but casual vibe. First impressions matter, after all. Avoid "busy" patterns and bright colours, use fonts that are easy to read, and structure your text with paragraphs and headers. Keep in mind that some users might be visibly impaired or dyslexic and might struggle with decorative fonts and certain color combinations. "Boring but accessible" should always win against "decorative but potentially difficult to read and decipher".
Example: light background, dark color text (or vice versa, it's the contrast that matters), sans serif font for paragraphs and a decorative but easy to read font for headers. The letters should be separate from each other (not "holding hands" like in cursive writing) and sometimes it's helpful to increase the spacing. Tip! Sit back and try to read your formatted text from a further distance than usual. If you feel like it's a strain on your eyes or struggle to make out the words, you might wanna adjust your formatting to make it easier to read. If the font and color is good, try changing the sizing and spacing.
FIVE: quality control Impressions matter, remember? That goes for writing as well. Bad writing can make for a bad impression, especially if the reader is used to higher standards. Many of the potential users you're trying to lure in will be avid readers, meaning that they will be used to the standards of publishing and anything less is... well, less. So it's pretty important that you're on the top of your writing game and maybe even get your blogs looked over by a grammar police before posting...
For SoMe team leaders: take the time to put together some good online resources to use for grammar rules, writing tips, spellchecks and anything else your team might find useful. Be gentle with your corrections, focus on the biggest ones and don't adress it as a "fail" but rather a "try this instead". If you can explain why it's wrong and how to do it right, take the time to explain it (easier said than done, I know, you might need to read up on grammar yourself first). And while quality is important, it's more important to have a good relationship with your team so don't hesitate to let the smaller mistakes slide in favour of keeping the writer encouraged and motivated.
_ _ _
This is the best advice I have to give, based on my experience and my amateur studies on social media. If you have the resources to give it a try, feel free to give it a try! And if you have more (or maybe better) suggestions, please share! But if your site doesn't have the resources to make it work right now, I'd argue you're better off focusing on social media platforms and actual site content: the site blogs should be in the lowest tier of priority because they are not worth the effort unless changes are made and you actually have effort to spare.

In essence, website traffic is the fuel that propels your online success, making it a fundamental metric to track and improve.
1. What is Website Traffic?

3. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art of enhancing your website’s visibility in search engine results. It’s a multifaceted strategy encompassing on-page and off-page techniques. On-page SEO involves optimizing individual pages with relevant keywords and quality content. Off-page SEO, on the other hand, focuses on building authority through backlinks and social signals. Together, these efforts improve your website’s rank, making it easier for potential visitors to find your online content. It’s all about making your website more visible to search engines like Google.
On-Page SEO
On-page SEO involves optimizing individual web pages for search engines. Here are key factors to consider:
Keywords: Choose relevant keywords for each page and incorporate them naturally in your content.
Meta Titles and Descriptions: Craft compelling meta titles and descriptions to encourage clicks from search results.
Quality Content: Create informative and engaging content that keeps visitors on your site.
Page Speed: Ensure your website loads quickly to improve user experience.
Off-Page SEO
Off-page SEO focuses on activities outside your website that impact your online presence:
Backlinks: Build high-quality backlinks from reputable websites to boost your site’s authority.
Social Signals: Engage on social media to increase your content’s visibility and shareability.
Local SEO: If you have a physical location, optimize for local search to attract nearby customers.
4. Mobile Optimization
Mobile optimization is the process of tailoring your website to provide an excellent user experience on smartphones and tablets. With mobile devices dominating internet access, optimizing for them is essential. It enhances your site’s speed, layout, and functionality on smaller screens, making it more user-friendly. Mobile-friendliness boosts your SEO ranking.
It improves the user experience.
Increases the likelihood of retaining mobile visitors.

It involves in-depth research, understanding your audience’s interests, and crafting valuable, informative, and engaging material. Research your target audience and their interests.

Use multimedia elements like images, videos, and infographics.
Incorporate storytelling to engage readers emotionally.
6. Blogging and Guest Posting
Blogging and guest posting are dynamic tools for driving website traffic. Through regular, informative, and shareable blog posts, you engage your audience. Guest posting on reputable websites in your niche extends your reach to a broader audience, enhancing your brand’s visibility. It’s a two-pronged approach, combining your content’s magnetism and the reach of established platforms, ensuring your website benefits from increased traffic and exposure.

Conclusion

technical optimization

Not really 500 words but what's the author commentary behind the rest of Baron's adventuring party? Do they have a name?
They do not have a name and if anybody else has one I would much appreciate it because I have no idea.
The story behind Baron's adventuring party is I sat here with the same sheet of paper Baron has in the fic and tried to fill in the places.
I wanted to try to do something different to the Bad Kids/Rat Grinders and I was also like "ok so Baron is going to have the most misfits adventuring party because they are a weird little guy so he's not going to have first pick.
Further under cut:
Olive was the first one that came into my head and she's kind of an author, not self insert but person I can make know the things that need to be known. I also love the idea of a bard going back to the roots and being like "yeah, I'm going to tell the story of this shit in an Epic Poem, the most authoritative form of history going" so that's where Olive came from.
I think Davey was the second to come into my head because Davey Hertz is actually a character I have been writing and working with for over 10 years (in a very non-fantasy setting). So Davey is the most fleshed out character in this fic. I'd also been looking for something that wasn't cleric for the healer, just because I do think Baron would be nervous about that and trawling through alternatives having an artificer seemed like an interesting un-optimised option.
By this point I was like "are these all going to be OCs or is there someone I can drag in from the actual Fantasy High canon" which is where Bricker/Ruby came in. What happens when your sister and your older brother both go to this specific school and turn away from the god your parents follow? Well, then your paths are limited and you're gonna be pissed off about it. I think about Bricker and Cork a lot and I think he just fits so perfectly into what I wanted for a rogue. Also, I didn't want a rogue to be a little guy. Because the idea of having three little guys on the team and none being the rogue was too funny to me.
Brook I think was next. I was really on this "unoptimized train" by this point but also trying to figure out how they were going to get the rest of their party and thought just asking the teacher for options was the simplest way to do that. So what kind of barbarian gets picked last? The halfling which every single site I looked at told me should not be a barbarian.
And then there was Frayer who I think was the last I came up with even thought she is the top of my list of people. Really struggled with what kind of class I should have. Straight fighter just seemed like such an uninteresting option and I was going through the others, working out why they had chosen to come to Aguefort, and I thought that having a character choose to go purely because the Bad Kids helped them was fun, and also another connection to existing canon. I was umming and ahing about whether she should be a druid (and she might multi-class, it depends on how pissed off I get at the lack of interesting sorcerer spells) but paladin just seemed like a fun option and filled that "fighter" bit of Baron's sheet that still needed to be filled.
#dimension 20#fantasy high#anyway my fic#I came up with the rest of Baron's adventuring party before I started trying to do story stuff with a sorcerer so#there is a high likelihood that someone is multiclassing so I can get some good spells#I guess I do have Olive so that's something
