Changbin was thrilled.
He and the other members had installed the app without too much thought and, in a matter of hours, they were drowned in date requests… all except for him.
It stung, to say the least.
After checking his phone for the hundredth time, his eyes lit up when they saw a date request and he quickly accepted, especially after seeing that it came from you, as he had crossed paths with you on a few occasions and you seemed great.
What Changbin hadn’t expected, however, was to get pre-date jitters.
He usually didn't go to the gym in the afternoon but that day was an exception.
He timed his work out perfectly: in and out like the flash, just a 40 minute workout to get his mind off of things then a nice, thorough shower.
Then he was going to steal some clothes from Han, thanking God for the boy's love of oversize, and use Jeongin's products for a perfect look.
Leg day was decent, so that day he wanted to train his arms, praying for the pump to stay for a few hours, however unlikely as that was.
It was his first time at his usual gym in a few months, as his schedule had kept him busy and he had to do home workouts instead, and a few machines had been replaced.
Changbin simply went through the motions, mind definitely elsewhere despite his efforts.
However, the workout kept him calm, even though a million different scenarios and plans went through his head.
Without a care in the world, he went to the pull-up bar and stretched his hands and grabbed… nothing.
The new machine was higher than the last one and changbin stared at it for a bit.
Then he did a small jump, trying to reach the top of it.
Then he did another one.
At last, one voice called him out: “Uhm… Seo Changbin?”.
He froze.
The man recognised that voice from the few run ins you had…. It was yours.
The idol turned, finding himself face to face with you, and reddened, embarrassed.
You looked incredibly beautiful and seeing you in Changbin’s favourite place made him fall even harder for you.
The situation you had caught him in, however… embarrassed didn’t even begin to cover how he felt.
You saw him jumping like a little kid asking for uppies because he was too short reach the pull up bar.
If he could have, Changbin would have let the ground swallow him whole.
“It’s not Seo Changbin. It’s Oh Changbin” he said, almost rapping.
Then he realised what he had just blurted out, noticing your perplexed expression, and mumbled out: “I mean… you’re right. Seo. Seo Changbin. That’s my name. Not Oh Changbin. It’s an ad-lib. I’m Seo. Seo Changbin”.
Now he’s done it.
He chased away his date before even going out first.
You wouldn’t have been the first to be disappointed by his height but to add “socially awkward” to his “short” title… Changbin was ready to flee the scene and never come back for good.
No mocking comments came out of your mouth, though.
“I see. Well, Seo Changbin, they put a step by the side” you said, giggling a bit with not a hint of malice, pointing to the small black step near the pull-up bar.
Changbin’s mouth formed a perfect circle as an “Oh” left his lips.
“Thanks” he said, sheepishly.
“No worries. It happened to me too. Not to mention the weights rack… they put mine on the top shelf. Dumb changes” you comforted him.
“Oh, yeah” he simply said. Very smooth, he scolded himself mentally.
“So… shall we count this as our first date and then one in a few hours as the second one?” You joked.
Changbin nodded eagerly before going with a “I mean… yeah”, in an attempt to salvage what little dignity he might have had after all his mess ups.
The fact that you even wanted to meet him later left him speechless but he wasn’t about to question you about it.
“Well… I’ll let you finish your workout! I’ll go get ready for our date” you said, after an awkward silence during which you had kept nervously fidgeting.
He looked great and you were really intrigued by him so the idea of leaving, even if for a few hours, didn’t exactly make you giddy.
Changbin stopped you, taking your wrist: “Maybe… we could do some exercises together? If you want?”.
With a smile that, to the dark rapper seemed brighter than the sun, you nodded along.
Gym was Changbin’s solo time but having you by his side… he could get used to it.

Omg I need your headcannons
Please share
These are very vague because I don't have a lot to go on, but if I think of more I'll post them.
He had a brother and sister. I'm leaning towards Uta being the youngest for reasons I'll talk about below, but yknow what would be interesting? If one of his siblings were a TWIN. It'd add another layer to his fear of abandonment and being left behind.
Since he's powerful even by ghoul standards, I wouldn't be surprised if Uta's family were wiped out in a planned extermination bust. Perhaps Uta managed to escape on his own or had help from another ghoul, but I can't imagine his mum and dad being taken out individually by chance by one or two investigators. It's not outside the realms of possibility, but they created UTA, so I think catching both parents off guard when they're with their kids is the best way to go about it.
I think he would've lost his family at a very young age, before his teens. I don't think he had a lot of stability in regards to a family life.
Throwing this out there: what if Itori and Yomo are "stand-ins" for the brother and sister he lost? There's an angle I've never heard before.
Now for some general ghoul headcanons about family etc.
I think it's extremely normal for ghouls to have lots of kids. Considering the short shelf-life they tend to have, parents want to ensure their kids have a chance of survival should they become orphans. One way of increasing their chances is to make sure there are multiple kids to look out for each other.
It's a benefit to have kids a few years apart. That way the parents can focus on teaching one kid at a time how to be a ghoul and survive, instead of dealing with multiple toddlers. there's also the plus that the eldest will be able to watch over the younger kids whilst food is acquired.
Only-child ghouls are indicators of a cushy life! Think Shuu, Hinami (until...yeah). Not always a hard and fast rule (see:Eto), but there's a ghoul mindset of strength in numbers. If a couple only has one kid by choice, it's probably because they're not concerned about their longevity being challenged. Only-child ghouls have parents that are stable AND tough.
When a ghoul mentions that they "used" to have siblings, in 99% of situations the siblings they lost were older. Like in a lot of of human cultures, emphasis is on looking after the younger ones. It's a given amongst ghouls that it's the older siblings that will sacrifice their life.
BUT! Because of this, there's a lot of stigma (and suspicion) surrounding situations where the OLDER sibling is the one to survive. It's usually perceived as a weakness, or something shifty has gone on, since the "protect the youngest" is so ingrained in ghoul customs and society. Due to this, some ghouls will lie and say it's their OLDER brother or sister who died.
#I hope these are ok because I'm struggling to concentrate#I'll add more if I think of them#tokyo ghoul#tokyo ghoul:re#Uta

One Muffin, 1000 Different Ways, aka Hyperbole Muffins

You! Are the Muffin Man!
I took “Home Economics” in 7th and 8th grade. The first semester was sewing and the second semester was cooking. I 100% did not need to take Home Economics. I had been sewing since 4th grade and it felt like I had always been cooking. I entered that class already knowing the basics of a classic French omelet, yet they started us with a basic muffin. I would cruise through that muffin recipe that allowed no embellishments and then read or work on my math homework. Why, yes, I felt a little superior. A basic muffin is something that is just asking to be played with. Memorize the recipe and then go off-book. There are so many things that can be added, sweet and savory work. There aren’t really any exotic ingredients. Buttermilk maybe? I almost always use yogurt when something calls for buttermilk. It accomplishes basically the same thing. It might need to be thinned out with a splash of milk if it is the super-thick Greek yogurt. The smallest you can usually buy buttermilk is a quart, so if you don’t have a plan for the rest of it, it may get pushed to the back of your refrigerator and then go bad. Yogurt can be bought in 6-ounce containers. Adding vanilla is tasty but crazy expensive now so I make it optional. Cake flour may be something you need to buy but it almost never goes bad (the typical shelf life of cake flour is about 6-8 months) and you will be set for a whole bunch of muffins (or cakes) in your future.
Basic Muffins Makes 10 muffins
Ingredients 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 large eggs, room temperature 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled (salted is cool too) 3/4 cup plain yogurt or buttermilk (can be substituted with sour cream if that’s what you have) 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (optional) 2 cups all-purpose cake flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a muffin tin with 10 muffin cups, and spray the muffin cups with a non-stick spray. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, cooled melted butter, yogurt, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Try using a whisk to combine. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet, mixing only until just combined. Having a few lumps in the batter is totally fine. It’s not the end of the world. You will want to stir as little as possible so you don’t see any dry flour. Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups, filling just shy of the top of the cups. Bake for 5 minutes at 425°F, then, without opening your oven door, turn the oven down to 350°F and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Eat while still warm or arrange attractively on a plate and pretend you are Martha Stewart. You’ve made super plain muffins.
Let’s examine some variations and see if they inspire you to create your own. When you’ve added mix-ins, you might find yourself with a total of 11, or 12 muffins.
For Lemon Poppyseed: In Step 2, reduce the yogurt to 1/2 cup, and add in 1/4 cup lemon juice, the zest of 2 lemons, and 3 tablespoons poppy seeds.
For Chocolate Chip: In Step 3, toss 3/4 cup chocolate chips into the flour mixture before folding into wet ingredients.
Orange Chocolate Chip Make Chocolate Chip but with 1 tablespoon of orange zest added
For a Blueberry variation: In Step 3, add an additional 1 tablespoon of flour, then toss 6 oz fresh blueberries into the flour mixture before folding it into wet ingredients.
For a Strawberry variation: In Step 3, add an additional 1 tablespoon of flour, then toss 6 oz diced strawberries into the flour mixture before folding them into wet ingredients.
For Corn Muffin variation: In Step 3, reduce the flour to 1 cup, and add in 3/4 cup cornmeal and ¾ cup of defrosted frozen corn.
For the Cinnamon Oatmeal Raisin variation: In Step 3, reduce the flour to 1 1/4 cup, and add in 1 cup of quick rolled oats, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. In step 4, fold in 1/2 cup raisins. For a glaze, combine 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese. Microwave for 15 seconds, then drizzle over the muffins. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
For the Banana Nut variation: In Step 2, reduce the yogurt to 1/2 cup, and add 1 mashed ripe banana and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. In step 4, fold in 1/2 cup walnuts.
For the Double Chocolate Chunk variation: In Step 3, reduce the flour to 1 3/4 cup, and add in 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder. In Step 4, fold in 3/4 cups chocolate chunks or chips
Almond Muffins (Almond Paste, Almond Extract) Add 1 teaspoon of Almond Extract in step 2. After filling the muffins, gently drop a 1-inch ball of marzipan on top of the batter
Gingerbread Step 3 add 1 teaspoon of dried ground ginger, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
Jam Muffins After filling the pan with the batter, use a spoon and 1 tablespoon of jam or apple butter to tuck into the top of the batter. The batter will rise up over it and the jam will be in the middle.
Dried Cranberries and Walnuts ½ cup of each added in step 2
Grated Zucchini 1 cup of grated zucchini, squeezed as dry as possible, and add in step 2. Increase sugar to 1 cup.
Grated Carrots 1 cup of grated carrots, add in step 2 (maybe throw in some raisins?)Increase sugar to 1 cup.
Cheddar Cheese 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese (or almost any hard cheese) Try adding sliced scallion to this!
You can prepare the muffin pan the night before you will want muffins. Also, do steps 1, 2, and 3 and keep them separate in the fridge. All you’ll have to do in the morning is gently mix them together and pop in the oven. You will have them in 30 minutes, time enough to get the coffee ready. You will not need to know the Muffin Man and you will not need to live on Drury Lane. YOU are the muffin man.

King Richard (2021)

Years of Will Smith in dramatic roles, combined with his name as a producer and his speech at the 94th Academy Awards might lead you to believe King Richard was only made so he could add a certain trophy to his shelf. I mean, of all the members of the Williams family, why choose to focus a movie on their father, rather than Venus or Serena? That question is precisely why this film was made the way it was. Even if you know nothing about tennis, you’ve heard of Venus and Serena Williams. Any movie about their rise would be wasting your time because you know where their careers are headed. Putting the spotlight on their father, the man who paved the way for their success and made some… questionable choices along the way? That’s a compelling story.
Even before they were born, Richard Williams (Smith), had a detailed plan for his youngest daughters Venus (Saniyya Sidney) and Serena (Demi Singleton). With his wife Oracene “Brandy” Price (Aunjanue Ellis), he’s been training them rigorously to be tennis champions while maintaining high marks in school and tirelessly promoting them to potential coaches. After years of videotapes and brochures, Richard manages to get the girls noticed by coach Paul Cohen (Tony Goldwyn) and later, Rick Macci (Jon Bernthal).
You already sort of know the way King Richard will end - and not because they don’t make movies about people whose careers go nowhere. The movie will probably conclude with a breakout win, followed by an epilogue that tells us exactly how successful both sisters became. What you don’t know is who Richard Williams is. If we trust this film, the man is full of contradictions. Obviously, he knows what he’s doing when it comes to teaching Venus and Serena the ins and outs of the tennis game but after getting them a real coach, he goes against the professional’s advice. He makes decisions everyone else tells him make no sense. You begin wondering how much of their success he’s secretly attributing to himself rather than them. Richard’s seemingly nonsensical or overly stubborn choices are the reason to see the film. You’re not sure if our protagonist is a genius or a madman. When EVERYONE tells him “This is not how you do this, Richard”, you start siding with them. What does he know that they don’t? It goes even deeper because you’ve seen a different side of him than the rest. You’ve seen him at his very lowest, when he was about to make a life-altering decision for the worst. You know him as well as Brandy does, which is to say, better than he knows himself. There’s a particular scene where he gets the entire family to watch Disney’s Cinderella and then quizzes the children about it once the tape ends. His reaction to the answers makes you think he’s completely off his rocker. Later, authorities inspect his home and check into allegations made against him and his wife. His reaction makes you realize he’s got a steadier head on his shoulders than any of the other parents we see pushing their children into the world of tennis. You can’t decide how you feel about him until the movie's last 20-ish minutes. This is the film’s "low point" because now, King Richard is “just a sports movie”. That said, there’s a reason we like sports movies. Now, the story is about Richard and Venus. You want the young woman to succeed because you’ve seen where she started and you know how far she could go. That scene of the family discussing Cinderella comes flooding back: the Williams sisters also come from humble origins and have a shot at the top.
While certain controversies surrounding the performances may threaten to eclipse the film that permitted them, the acting in King Richard is top-notch. Smith gets the lion’s share of the spotlight but Aunjanue Ellis has a couple of scenes that will blow you away. We spend so much time with the Williams family that you get to know them inside and out. You notice subtle hints in their faces or body language that tell you so much more than just the words being said. Smith really is great in the picture, fully utilizing his natural charisma while pouring a little bit of vinegar in the mix.
King Richard has a terrific story that offers what you want in a sports movie without feeling formulaic. The titular character is an enigma that's fun to examine until the film helps you come to a conclusion about him. Then, the focus is more on the family and you realize that while they're extraordinary in some ways, they're normal in just as many. It’s both inspirational and relatable. (August 5, 2023)

I’m also just kind of annoyed at That Guy in general right now.
On Monday I put things on the shopping list, then we get to the store and either I will take off to Goodwill for a moment or to look at toys while the boys go around and do whatever, then catch up to them later.
If I don’t double check what’s in the cart, That Guy will skip stuff from the list on purpose because he doesn’t like spending money even/especially if it’s on food for his family and then I have to run all over the store and grab what he skipped.
Sometimes I wonder if he does that on purpose so I feel a need to stay with him at the store instead of getting a few blissful moments of By Myself AND Not Trapped in the House once a week at the fucking Walmart.
- This past week I’d put drink sticks (pre-portioned, sucralose instead of sugar electrolyte mix-ins that are Red-40-free) on the list even though we still had like 5 of them. They come in a pack of 8 and Son has decided he gets one every day which I’m really not going to complain about because he doesn’t eat a wide variety of foods and those drink sticks have some vitamins he’s missing.
As you can see, that means none for anyone else.
At first I was getting two boxes per week so I could also get those extra, easily consumed vitamins, and then randomly That Guy decided we were getting one box per week even though we easily consumed two and it’s dry goods that keep so a surplus isn’t going to rot.
I also got a big tub of sugar-Gatorade powder a couple weeks back to make sure that I had some sort of electrolyte source that didn’t require denying it to Son, but That Guy’s using it all up.
Anyway.
We had a few extra drink sticks left this past week and I saw an opportunity to go into a small surplus so I could get maybe one or two a week.
Got home, looked for the box to add it to the cup they’re kept in, couldn’t find it, That Guy skipped it because we already had less than a week’s worth at home.
- This past week I also put Cheez It on the list because we were almost out. That Guy had said last week that he doesn’t want to eat them anymore. It was the FIRST time he’d asked if anyone else was eating them instead of just saying “I don’t want to buy that anymore.” and I was surprised. Both Son and I said yes, we eat them, so we should still buy them.
That put the onus on That Guy to not eat them.
We get home from the store, I’m looking for Cheez It to munch because I’m having a hard time with food lately and only wanting to eat bread and crackers, and there’s an empty spot on the shelf in the pantry where they live. I ask Son where they are and he says “Dad doesn’t want to buy them anymore.” and I was like “DAD IS NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS HOUSE,” a point I made WITH That Guy when he initially said he didn’t want to eat them anymore (which I only mention because if I don’t, people assume I haven’t bothered to try).
- 2 boxes of drink sticks and a box of Cheez It are back on the shopping list for next Monday. I also bought a bag of frozen pot stickers for the first time in ages because he’d done the same thing with those. He decided he didn’t want to eat them anymore so instead of him just not eating them, he stopped letting us buy them.
He does this sort of thing a lot where he acts like anything that’s not explicitly for him is not for anyone, no one should have it, and it’s stupid that it even exists/no one should make it. It’s very frustrating.

Best Interior Design Hacks for Small Spaces
When living in a compact home or apartment, it can often feel like you’re playing Tetris with your furniture, trying to make everything fit without feeling cramped. Luckily, with a few smart strategies and expert insights, small spaces can be just as stylish, functional, and comfortable as larger ones. If you're searching for the Best Interior Design in Thanisandra, Singh's Interiors brings you tried-and-true design hacks to transform your small space into a beautifully efficient home.
1. Embrace Multi-Functional Furniture
One of the best investments you can make for a small home is multi-functional furniture. Think of ottomans with hidden storage, sofa beds, foldable dining tables, or coffee tables that double as work desks. These pieces help you maximize every inch of space without sacrificing comfort or aesthetics.
Pro tip: Look for furniture that can be easily moved around or stacked. Nesting tables or folding chairs are perfect for entertaining guests without taking up permanent space.
2. Use Mirrors to Expand Visual Space
Mirrors are a designer's secret weapon for small spaces. They reflect light and create the illusion of depth, making any room appear larger than it is. Place a large mirror opposite a window to maximize natural light, or use mirrored furniture to keep the look sleek and modern.
Bonus hack: A mirrored wall or floor-to-ceiling mirror in narrow hallways can instantly open up the area and make it feel more spacious.
3. Vertical Storage Is Your Best Friend
When floor space is limited, think vertically. Use tall bookshelves, wall-mounted cabinets, or floating shelves to store items without cluttering the room. In the kitchen, install hanging racks for pots and pans. In the bedroom, consider vertical wardrobes with built-in drawers.
This approach draws the eye upward and emphasizes height, giving the impression of a taller, roomier space.
4. Light Colors and Strategic Lighting
Light, neutral colors like white, beige, or soft gray can open up a room and reflect light better than darker shades. Use these tones for walls, ceilings, and large furniture to keep things airy. Add pops of color through artwork, cushions, or rugs.
Also, pay close attention to lighting. A well-lit room looks bigger and more inviting. Instead of relying on one overhead light, layer your lighting with:
Wall sconces
Floor lamps
Under-cabinet lights
Pendant lights over tables or counters
5. Keep It Clutter-Free
In small homes, clutter becomes noticeable very quickly. Prioritize minimalism by keeping surfaces clear and storing items out of sight. Adopt a “one-in, one-out” rule—if you buy something new, remove something old.
Organizers, baskets, and drawer dividers can help you maintain this system. Remember, open space feels like added square footage.
6. Sliding Doors Over Swinging Ones
Traditional hinged doors take up precious space when they swing open. Replace them with sliding doors or pocket doors to free up floor space. This hack works wonderfully for bedrooms, bathrooms, and even wardrobes.
Glass sliding doors between rooms also allow natural light to travel through the space, making it feel less compartmentalized.
7. Zone Your Space Creatively
In open-plan or studio apartments, use rugs, curtains, or shelving units to define zones without building walls. A simple area rug under your dining table or a bookcase between your bed and sofa can create the illusion of distinct rooms.
Zoning helps your space feel organized and gives each area a clear function, which is essential when you're working with limited square footage.
8. Go Custom with Built-Ins
Off-the-shelf furniture often doesn’t make the best use of unique layouts or corners. Custom-built furniture, while a bit more expensive upfront, pays off by perfectly fitting your space and your needs.
Consider built-in seating with hidden storage, wall-to-wall wardrobes, or custom kitchen cabinets that stretch to the ceiling. These solutions reduce dead space and offer maximum utility.
9. Use Transparent or Open-Frame Furniture
Transparent materials like acrylic or glass help furniture "disappear" visually, making a room look less crowded. Similarly, open-frame pieces—like a chair with slim legs or a floating TV stand—don’t block sightlines and keep the space airy.
It’s all about tricking the eye into seeing more openness than there really is.
10. Maximize Under-Used Spaces
Don’t ignore those awkward spots under stairs, windows, or beds. These areas can become valuable storage or work zones with a little creativity.
Install drawers or rolling bins under your bed
Create a reading nook under a window
Use the space under your stairs for shelves, a mini office, or even a compact powder room
No square inch should be wasted.
11. Wall-Mounted Desks and Foldable Tables
Need a workspace but don’t have an extra room? Wall-mounted desks or fold-out tables are brilliant additions. You can tuck them away when not in use, keeping the area open for other activities.
Pair it with a foldable chair or a compact stool that fits neatly underneath.
12. Smart Use of Curtains
Hang curtains from ceiling to floor—even if your windows are small. This creates the illusion of height and makes your room feel grander. Choose light, flowing fabrics to keep things soft and breezy.
Bonus idea: Use curtains as dividers in studio apartments to section off sleeping areas or closets.
13. Keep Flooring Consistent
Changing flooring between rooms can chop up a small space visually. Using the same flooring throughout your home—especially light wood or polished concrete—can make everything feel more connected and spacious.
If you want variation, try rugs instead of changing the flooring entirely.
14. Use Statement Pieces Sparingly
Too many small furniture pieces can make a room feel cluttered. Instead, go for a few well-chosen statement items—like a bold sofa or an oversized lamp—to add personality without overcrowding.
Statement pieces can also act as focal points, drawing attention and giving the room a design identity.
15. Reflect Your Personality
Finally, a small space should still reflect you. Use art, textures, and color schemes that make you feel at home. Compact living is all about smart choices, but it shouldn’t be boring. Just keep the balance between style and function, and you'll create a space that’s both beautiful and livable.
Conclusion
Small spaces offer a unique opportunity to be intentional with every design choice. By using smart layouts, choosing the right furniture, and paying attention to lighting and color, you can make a small home feel expansive, cozy, and elegant. Whether you’re in a compact studio apartment or a cozy 2BHK in the city, these interior design hacks can make all the difference.

How Custom Made Built-Ins Could Be the Best-Kept Secret in Interior Design

When you think about upgrading your home, what comes to mind? Many consider paint colors, furniture, or maybe new appliances. However, one of the most impactful changes often goes unnoticed: custom-made built-ins. These unique additions can transform any room, optimizing space and enhancing aesthetics simultaneously. From walk-in closets in Nassau or elsewhere to sleek shelving units, built-ins are tailored to meet your specific needs and tastes. In this article, we'll explore how these personalized solutions are revolutionizing interior design and why they might be the best-kept secret for creating a functional and stylish home.
The Magic of Customization
Custom-made built-ins offer a level of customization that off-the-shelf furniture simply can't match. Whether you need extra storage in a cramped kitchen or a walk-in closet that accommodates every piece of your wardrobe, built-ins are designed to fit your exact dimensions and requirements. This means no wasted space and a perfect integration with your existing decor. The beauty of going custom is that you're not restricted by the limited sizes and styles of mass-produced items; you can choose materials, finishes, and configurations that reflect your personal style.
Enhancing Functionality and Aesthetics
One of the most significant advantages of custom closets and other built-in features is how they blend functionality with aesthetics. By designing solutions that are meant to be an integral part of your home, you eliminate the need for bulky furniture and open up the room to more possibilities. For example, a walk-in closet in Long Island or other cities can be outfitted with built-in dressers, adjustable shelving, and well-placed lighting, turning a simple storage space into an elegant dressing area. Similarly, built-ins in living areas can house entertainment systems, books, and décor in a way that enhances the room's layout and flow.
Space Optimization
For many homeowners, space is a premium commodity. Custom-made built-ins are ideal for maximizing the use of available space. Under-stair closets, built-in window seats with storage underneath, and custom cabinetry in narrow hallways or alcoves utilize areas that otherwise might go unused. With thoughtful design, these areas become practical and visually appealing features of your home, rather than forgotten corners or cluttered catch-alls.
A Long-Term Investment
While the initial cost of custom-made built-ins might be higher than buying standard furniture, the long-term benefits are well worth the investment. Not only do built-ins add to the functionality and beauty of your home, but they also increase its value. Well-crafted custom closets and other built-in features are often highlights for potential buyers, making them a wise choice for those looking to enhance their home's resale value.
In Essence
Custom-made built-ins are not just another furniture purchase; they are a transformative element for any interior design. Some ideas to help you make the most of dining room storage
Dining room storage is essential for keeping your space organized and functional. Here are some ideas to help you make the most of your dining area:
Use Specialty Storage: Consider items like wine coolers and bar cabinets that can double as storage and add a touch of sophistication to your dining room.
Add Cabinetry: Install cabinetry in your dining room to store extra dishes, table linens, and more. It's not just for kitchens and can significantly increase your storage capacity.
Sideboards: A sideboard can provide ample storage and match your decor and dining table for a cohesive look.
Vintage Pieces: Look for vintage storage pieces that can add character to your dining room.
Shelves: For minimal storage needs, consider adding a small floating shelf to keep a few extra dishes on hand.
Repurpose Extra Closets: If you have extra closets or pantries off your dining room, use them for storage solutions that might serve multiple purposes, like a home office or craft room.
Match Cabinetry: When choosing dining room cabinetry, consider matching it to existing cabinetry in your home for a cohesive look.
Choose Pieces in Different Styles: Don't be afraid to mix and match styles for a unique and complex look.
Store More in Bar Cabinets: Use bar cabinets not only for alcohol but also for specialty dishes or decor.
Add a Corner Cabinet: A narrow corner cabinet can hold essentials and add a minimalist touch to your dining room.
Repurpose Empty Space: Use empty corners for storage that serves the rest of your home, like a secretary desk or dresser.
Use the Space Below: Utilize the space under benches or seats to store out-of-season dishes and platters.
Look for Fun Storage: Storage furniture doesn't have to be boring; look for statement pieces that also provide functionality.
Add a Wall of Cabinets: If you need ample storage and want to avoid filling your dining room with furniture, consider installing a wall of cabinets.
Try See-Through Storage: Glass cabinets allow you to showcase your cool stuff while keeping the area organized.
Store Your Records: If you're a vinyl enthusiast, consider square cabinets to store your records efficiently.
Use Nearby Storage Space: In open-concept spaces, use nearby shelving and cabinetry for your dining room storage needs.
Repurpose Bar Cabinets: Standalone bar cabinets can be used for more than just liquor storage; they can also hold dishes or table linens.
Use Small Pieces When Needed: For minimal storage, look for small pieces of furniture that fit your needs.
Remove Closet Doors: Create a unique look and lots of storage by removing doors from a nearby closet.
Use Your Built-Ins: If you're lucky enough to have built-in storage, use it to store and display your prettiest dining items.
Pick Storage That Fits Your Space: Choose furniture that fits your space and needs, whether it's a long piece for an extra-long wall or a narrow and tall unit for a smaller wall.
Consider How You Store: If you're using a glass cabinet, how you store items inside matters just as much as how you place decor outside of it.
Add Walls of Built-Ins: If you have the wall space and budget, consider adding a wall or two of built-in cabinets for ample storage.
Store Things Near Your Kitchen Island: If your dining area is part of an open kitchen, keep storage nearby for easy access.
Match Your Trim: To ensure your dining room storage is both functional and stylish, paint your cabinetry and furniture in the same color as your home's trim or accent walls.
Add a Narrow Cabinet: If space is limited, consider a narrow floor-to-ceiling cabinet that provides plenty of storage without taking up much footprint.
Add a Mirror: If you're adding a bar cabinet for storage, consider adding a mirror above it to add glam and make the space look bigger.
These ideas can help you transform your dining room into a well-organized and stylish space.

Guide to Choosing the Best Window and Door Replacement for Your Home
Home improvement projects can dramatically boost the appearance, energy efficiency, and value of your house. One of the most effective upgrades homeowners can make is replacing old windows and doors. Whether you’re looking for enhanced security, energy savings, or a fresh aesthetic, choosing the best replacement windows and doors is crucial. But with so many window replacement companies in the market, how do you make the right choice?
In this blog, we’ll discuss the benefits of window and door replacement, the types of replacement windows available, and tips on selecting the best window replacement companies for your project.
Benefits of Window and Door Replacement
1. Energy Efficiency One of the primary reasons homeowners opt for window and door replacement is to improve energy efficiency. Old windows and doors, particularly those made from single-pane glass or outdated materials, allow drafts and heat loss. Modern replacement windows, especially those featuring double or triple panes, low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings, and gas fills, can significantly reduce heat transfer. These features help keep your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter, thus lowering your energy bills.
2. Increased Home Value Upgrading your windows and doors is an investment that pays off, not just through energy savings but also in increasing your home’s market value. Many prospective buyers are willing to pay more for homes that feature energy-efficient replacement windows and stylish, secure doors. According to various real estate studies, homeowners can expect to recoup a large percentage of the cost of window and door replacements upon resale.
3. Improved Security Older windows and doors can be security risks, especially if they have weakened frames, broken locks, or outdated designs. Replacing them with newer models equipped with advanced locking mechanisms and reinforced materials greatly enhances your home’s security. Many modern window replacement companies offer options designed to withstand break-ins, ensuring peace of mind for you and your family.
4. Enhanced Aesthetics New windows and doors can dramatically improve your home's curb appeal. If your current windows or doors are outdated or worn, replacements can give your home a fresh, modern look. Whether you choose traditional or contemporary designs, investing in high-quality windows and doors adds a sense of style and personalization to your property.
Types of Replacement Windows
Choosing the best replacement windows for your home depends on various factors, including climate, budget, and design preferences. Here are some popular window types to consider:
1. Double-Hung Windows Double-hung windows are among the most popular choices for homes. They feature two movable sashes, allowing you to open the window from either the top or bottom. This design offers excellent ventilation, ease of cleaning, and classic appeal.
2. Casement Windows Casement windows hinge on one side and open outward like a door. These windows are known for their excellent energy efficiency and unobstructed views. Since they open wide, they allow for optimal ventilation, making them ideal for areas that need fresh air, like kitchens or bathrooms.
3. Bay and Bow Windows Bay and bow windows are ideal for homeowners looking to add a touch of elegance to their home. These window styles extend outward from the home, creating a small shelf or seating area inside. They also allow more light to enter the room and offer panoramic views.
4. Sliding Windows Sliding windows feature one fixed pane and one movable pane that slides horizontally. They are a good choice for spaces where vertical height may be limited, such as basements or contemporary-styled homes.
5. Picture Windows Picture windows are large, fixed windows that don’t open. Their primary purpose is to provide expansive views and let in a lot of natural light. Since they are not operable, they are often used in combination with other window types that provide ventilation.
How to Choose the Right Window Replacement Companies
Selecting the right company for your window and door replacement project can be the difference between a smooth experience and an expensive headache. Here are a few tips to help you find the best window replacement companies:
1. Research and Read Reviews Start by researching local window replacement companies and reading online reviews. Look for companies with a long-standing reputation for quality products and excellent customer service. Check websites like Google, Yelp, and Angie’s List to see what previous customers have to say about their experiences.
2. Check Certifications and Warranties Make sure the company you choose is licensed, insured, and offers warranties on both their products and labor. A good warranty can save you money in the long run by covering repairs or replacements should anything go wrong with your new windows or doors.
3. Get Multiple Quotes Don’t settle for the first quote you receive. Contact multiple companies to get a range of estimates. This will give you a better understanding of market rates and help ensure that you’re getting a fair deal.
4. Ask About Energy-Efficient Options To maximize your investment, choose a company that specializes in energy-efficient windows and doors. Ask about features like Low-E coatings, gas fills, and thermal breaks that help improve insulation and reduce energy costs.
5. Evaluate Customer Service Finally, consider the company’s customer service. Are they responsive? Do they take the time to answer your questions? A company that values customer satisfaction will provide a smoother and more enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Conclusion
Investing in window and door replacement can greatly improve the comfort, security, and value of your home. By choosing the best replacement windows and working with reputable window replacement companies, you can ensure that your home stays efficient and stylish for years to come. Be sure to research thoroughly, consider your options, and prioritize energy efficiency to make the most out of your investment.

Best Book Shelf Design For Home
Designing a great bookshelf for your home is more than just finding a spot for your books. It's about making a piece of furniture that fits your space, shows off your personality, & meets your needs. A well-made bookshelf can really stand out in any room, not just holding books but also showing off decorations, photos, & more. Here’s a handy guide to some of the best bookshelf styles for your home—covering different looks & functions.
Classic Wall-Mounted Bookshelves:- Wall-mounted bookshelves are a classic choice that brings together style & function. These shelves attach directly to the wall, which saves floor space and gives a clean look. You can arrange them in many ways! Maybe a long shelf stretching across the wall? Or staggered shelves to create fun patterns.

The charm of wall-mounted bookshelves is in their flexibility. You could pick floating shelves for a simple vibe or go with brackets for a more classic style. They’re perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallways! Plus, they display your favorite books alongside beautiful decorations.
Built-In Bookshelves:- Built-in bookshelves are the top of custom design! These shelves blend right into your home's layout—making them part of the room. They can fit in any space, from small nooks to around fireplaces or even an entire wall! Built-ins offer a polished look & can match any style in your home.

The big plus with built-in bookshelves? They use space wisely! Since they’re made just for you, they fit into tricky spots around other furniture & help you make the most of every inch. You get lots of room to display many books and other things—keeping everything organized and looking nice!
Ladder BookshelvesLadder bookshelves have become very popular because they add a modern feel to any room! These cool shelves lean against the wall like a ladder and usually have a unique shape—deeper shelves at the bottom & shallow ones at the top. This design looks nice while still being useful.

These ladder shelves are awesome for small areas since they don’t take up much floor space and can be moved easily. They work anywhere—in living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, even kitchens! You could show off books, plants, or picture frames—adding personal vibes to your room!
Corner Bookshelves:- If you're tight on space, corner bookshelves are perfect! Designed to fit snugly into corners, they make great use of spots that often don’t get noticed and provide lots of storage.

You’ll find corner bookshelves in different styles—tall ones that reach the ceiling or shorter versions that fit neatly into small spaces. They can be freestanding or mounted on walls; it’s up to you! These shelves enhance storage without crowding your room; they help create cozy feels wherever you place them.
Modular Bookshelves:- Modular bookshelves offer flexibility—they let you create shelving systems just right for you! Made of separate units, you can rearrange them however you need—perfect for anyone who likes changing things up often or moves around a lot.

These modular units come in all sorts of styles—from super simple to more complicated designs with different shelf sizes and shapes. You might use them to make an eye-catching wall, separate spaces in a room, or maybe even as a media center. They’re truly great if you want storage that fits all kinds of needs!
Bookshelves with Cabinets:- Bookshelves that include cabinets give you the best of both worlds: open space for showing off items & closed storage for hiding things away! These are fantastic in living rooms or home offices where you store both books and other stuff like files or games.

You could find cabinets at the bottom—which gives stability and keeps things neat—or mixed throughout the shelves. This setup helps keep everything tidy while still letting you display favorites proudly!
So there you have it—a friendly look at different styles of bookshelves to brighten up your home & meet all your needs! Enjoy creating the perfect spot for your book collection!

Maximizing Style and Space: The Ultimate Guide to Shoe Organizer Closets
A well-organized closet is the key to a stress-free morning routine, and when it comes to footwear, a shoe organizer closet can be a game-changer. No more hunting for matching pairs or dealing with cluttered piles – a thoughtfully designed shoe organizer closet not only keeps your shoes in pristine condition but also adds a touch of style to your storage space. Let's explore how to create the perfect shoe organizer closet that maximizes both form and function.
Assess Your Shoe Collection: Before diving into the world of shoe organizers, take stock of your shoe collection. Categorize your shoes by type – sneakers, heels, flats, boots – and consider their sizes. This initial assessment will guide your choice of organizers and help determine the amount of space required for each category.
ᅠChoose the Right Shoe Organizer: There are various types of shoe organizers to suit different preferences and closet sizes. For small spaces, over-the-door shoe organizers are a great solution, utilizing vertical space effectively. If you have a larger closet, consider built-in shelves, cubbies, or hanging organizers. Clear plastic shoe boxes are another excellent option, providing visibility and protection for your footwear.
ᅠUtilize Vertical Space: Vertical space is often underutilized in closets. Invest in vertical shoe organizers like hanging shelves or over-the-door racks to make the most of the available space. This not only keeps your shoes organized but also frees up valuable floor space for other storage needs.
ᅠConsider Rotating Shoe Racks: Rotating shoe racks or carousel-style organizers are a stylish and functional solution. These racks allow you to access your entire shoe collection with a simple spin, making it easy to find the perfect pair. They're particularly useful in closets with limited depth, as they maximize space efficiency.
ᅠSeparate Seasonal Shoes: If you live in a region with distinct seasons, consider organizing your shoes by season. Place off-season shoes in storage bins or on higher shelves to make room for the current season's footwear. This not only keeps your closet tidy but also makes it easier to access the shoes you need.
ᅠOpt for Adjustable Shelves: Choose shoe shelves organizer with adjustableᅠ to accommodate different types of footwear. Boots, heels, and sneakers come in varying heights, and having the flexibility to adjust shelf heights ensures that each pair has its designated space.
ᅠIncorporate Aesthetics: A well-designed shoe organizer closet is not just about functionality; it's also an opportunity to showcase your personal style. Choose organizers in materials and colors that complement your closet's overall aesthetic. Wooden shelves, fabric bins, or even customized built-ins can add a touch of elegance to your storage space.
ᅠKeep it Visible and Accessible: Visibility is key when it comes to maintaining an organized closet. Ensure that your shoe organizer allows you to see each pair clearly, making it easy to locate the shoes you want to wear. Open shelving or clear shoe boxes are excellent choices for keeping your collection visible and easily accessible.
Implement a Regular Maintenance Routine: Once your shoe organizer closet is in place, establish a routine for maintenance. Regularly declutter by purging shoes you no longer wear and organizing the remaining pairs. This prevents the accumulation of unnecessary items and keeps your closet in tip-top shape.

Chapter 5: Analysis and Discussion
We've arrived at Chapter 5! Once again, we're starting off with another scene that's not in the movie at all. Dex puts on another white tuxedo and is heading towards his club, when Hairy Hold (remember when he was introduced back in Chapter 1?) mentions the USDA needs his help. Hairy explains he's at his split ends...get it, like a pun on being at your wit's end? Only it's split ends because he's a hair product Ike? Well, I thought it was funny. It's made clear that ever since Sunshine went missing 6 months ago, Hairy has been left in charge of the USDA and isn't handling it well at all, freaking out over Mr Clipboard stomping that bag of chips two chapters ago. Dex makes it clear he doesn't get involved anymore, and that he just runs the Copabanana now. By the way, it's not really clear at this point but Dex running a club is a reference to Rick from Casablanca and how he runs "Rick's Cafe American". There are a number of Casablanca references in both the movie and the book, and I'll do my best to point them all out as we go.
Hairy snaps a little and asks when Dex is going to stop beating himself up over Sunshine's disappearance and everyone stops in shock, waiting to see how Dex will react. And damn, I kinda wish this scene was in the movie? It adds a little more emotion to the story, and it also gives Hairy's character some much-needed context- in the movie neither of his scenes from the chapters we've talked about so far are present, so he's just awkwardly introduced about a half-hour in. Hairy and Dex's tense moment is interrupted by Daredevil Dan flying overhead in his plane, and THIS scene is really different from the movie too.
Dan flies overhead and points out the banner he's attached to the back of his plane, reading "Get juiced at the Copabanana tonight!" (There's no banner on his plane in the movie, but it's not a super important detail) He then sees a cupcake Ike on the street named Sweet Cakes, and once again tries to loop-de-loop, saying "You drive me loopy, baby!" Sweet Cakes doesn't appreciate being catcalled and says "Get a shelf life" as the plane spins out of control. This is a fun little scene! It's a little weird that Dan is catcalling her, but it's a harmless pun and she immediately quips back and calls him a loser for doing it. Now, are you ready for this? In the MOVIE, he says "Yo Sweetcakes, nice packaging! I'd like to butter your muffin! How about some chocolate frosting?" Which is... really overtly sexual innuendo for a kids movie. I mean, what are we saying here? In the supermarket world, that's basically the equivalent to saying "Hey, how about I cum in your pussy", right? Who catcalls a woman with an immediate proposition of ejaculating in/on her? It's weird and more than a little inappropriate.
Whether these lines weren't in the script Irene Trimble was working from when she wrote this, or they WERE and she cut them out and replaced them with a more age-appropriate joke for the novelization, I can't say. But the novelization does a far better job with this scene than the movie did, and it's strange the movie even has lines like that to begin with. One of the things I was curious about when I picked up this novelization was how they'd handle the sexual jokes, since Irene Trimble is a noted children's author and likely wouldn't include innuendo of that caliber in her work. And she didn't! Nice one, Irene!
The rest of the scene is more or less identical to how it is in the movie- Dan crashes his plane into the tree of some elf Ikes, who are obvious stand-ins for the Keebler Elves. They're not the Keebler Elves in the actual movie, but the way they're just unnamed here makes me think at the time this novelization was written they WERE in the movie and the Keebler company pulled out later on. After all, any time an Ike has gone completely unnamed in the novelization so far, it's in reference to a character the book can't explicitly say the name of. Anyway, Dan's plane has crashed and the Not-Keebler Elves are understandably pissed.
And THAT marks the end of Chapter 5! Yet another incredibly short chapter, at only three pages once again. The next one is a little longer though, and it has everyone's favorite Ike- Cheazel T. Weasel! Stay tuned for more!

(There’s more, I just felt weird taking even longer to write it since I was busy so I’ll send what I have)
I think very few of these similarities are Intentional apart from a few which are probably references/somewhat inspired (note, I have not finished the show and I’ll probably add onto this)
Both franchises are criticisms of capitalism/consumerism, although this was a lot more apparent in the early scripts for child’s play
Both have A LOT of dolls-
- The bullies are porcelain dolls who are basically students for the teacher (WE WILL GET TO HER.) they’re very punchable. Similarly to chucky’s first(?) death in the show, a bully on a leash wearing a dunce cap is killed via strangulation. Not a ton of people are aware of this, since you can just bonk his head till his dumbass dies or leave him, but if you let six sneak up on him, they’ll pounce on the bully and strangle it to death while bashing its head into the ground until it breaks. It’s actually a pretty brutal scene, although it’s HEAVILY implied that it was an act of revenge since the bullies kidnapped six and hung them upside down.
- The pretender (from very little nightmares) (WE WILL ALSO GET TO HER) has a ton of dolls. The reason is Actually quite sad. Her touch is deadly, so she gets a bunch of stuffed children for friends- although they are completely inanimate. There are multiple parts of the game where RCG (raincoat girl, not six) pretends to be a doll in order to not get either ran over by a wheelchair or get crushed by a washing machine.
- There are multiple unique living dolls from The Sounds Of Nightmares, but they’ll have their own section
The teacher- she’s basically like if Miss kettlewell and Miss trunchbull had a kid.
She beats children to death with her yardstick/ruler. Theres a specific Easter egg/secret mechanic involving her and the bullied that I do actually think was possibly a reference to child’s play 2- if you get the attention of the bullies in the classroom, you can run into a closet and climb up on a shelf. The shelf falls, and if timed right, you can crush multiple bullies at once and you have to hide from her iirc.
There’s also a section where you hear and see the shadow of the teacher brutally beating a bully with her yardstick/ruler (possibly an actual child though) and it does kind of remind me of how Mrs Kettlewell dies, with the cutaway and just the sounds of the yardstick.
Noone- She doesn’t have a canon design, but a lot of people draw her as ginger, and it kind of devolved into an inside joke. I made a goofy doodle of her that looked like chucky as a joke, but it kind of just stuck and I never made another one for her.
The source of the inside joke is mainly due to Otto, her therapist, being similar to Dr Mixter. Otto (nonsexually) grooms Noone into basically being a replacement goldfish for his sister and a way for him to get into the nowhere and find Cece (his sister.)
There are also a few smaller reasons- She almost gets killed in a factory with her little friend who looks like a burnt hairball (RIP,) she has some run ins with dolls as well. She ends up in a doll store nightmare ikea and tries to play with one of the dolls, which proceeds to bleed(?) all over her and later watches her friend get attacked by a doll at an amusement park/circus (yeah, we’ll get to that too).
She also got a gold necklace with a red gemstone, but instead of looting it off of the corpse of a middle aged man in Jersey, she gets it from an emotionally traumatized lump of meat
. Noone also has some similarities to Nica. They both have medical/psychological trauma and end up in a psych ward of sorts. Noone also gets what’s implied to be some sort of electrode machine multiple times (to disastrous results), which is the same sort of machine that Nica got hooked up to in cult. Noone is also hypnotized multiple times like how Nica was.
Not exactly a Nica thing, but she’s associated with a flower- chrysanthemums which are delivered to her while she’s at the hospital repeatedly by her parents until they just stop. Reminds me of Sarah a bit.
There’s a LOT more and I’ll reblog with more in a bit, I just felt bad for not responding sooner so I’ll drop this. I wrote it on mobile so the formatting and grammar may be kinda off

They would be great friends (beat each other with axes while apologizing profusely)
