Truth or Dare-Part 6/20

Summary: The Winchester sibling trio has been through so much in the last decade. From the night of their parents’ 30th wedding anniversary party where Sam and Dean eased Y/N from her innocence to Sam becoming a happily married lawyer with a kickass nurse of wife to the three of them now living in the same town they grew up in under the same roof where each of them came of age. Y/N is a working mother of three, her days spent helping the townsfolk make proper and suitable financial decisions while bustling about escorting her two oldest to school and her youngest, Mary Ellen, to daycare; Dean’s garage is the premiere body shop for classic restorations and car maintenance; people from other state’s bring their vehicles to them to be repaired. Business at Winchester Wheels is booming; Sam is the legal council for Winchester Wheels and has been since he moved back home almost 5 years ago. He has his work cut out for him dealing with the people Dean pisses off and threatens to sue the garage on at least a monthly basis.

After one lust-filled night, the siblings become more than family. They become lovers. The three of them, together and separately.

One big loving family.

So when Y/N’s boss calls for her to take a much needed vacation, the six of them hit the road. What will happen? Will it bring them closer together or break them apart?

"Dean?" Y/N questions as he opens the passenger side door of the rented Tahoe. "Why are we taking the vehicle? Aren't we just gonna walk down to Miss Kitty's?"

"Nope," is the only answer he gives her until he is seated behind the wheel. "Our first date deserves something a little more special."

Y/N looks over at him, stunned. 'He had really put some thought into this,' she thinks to herself as they pull out of the hotel's parking lot.

Dean places his left hand on the steering wheel to guide the car then grabs her hand with his right, lacing their fingers together before resting their joined hands on the console.

When they pull into the Dodge House Restaurant and Saloon, Y/N's smile widens. The sign above the building indicates that they offer 'the biggest buffet north of the Mason-Dixon'. Leave it to Dean to find a place with an unlimited supply of food.

After they park, Dean gets out and rushes around the car to open Y/N's door. She smiles brightly at him as she exits the vehicle. He is definitely pulling out all the stops to make her feel special and cherished.

After getting their fill of steak, chicken and anything else you can think of, Dean drives them to their next stop, The 8 Seconds Bar.

"Where are we going now?" Y/N giggles as she takes in the establishment. "Eight seconds for what?"

Her question is answered as soon as they enter. High top tables are placed sporadically around the room with more private booths along the wall to the right. To their left was a long wooden bar top with stools perched in front.

The place was pretty hopping, country Western music heard under the din of the patrons' conversations.

What stood out to her was the large mechanical bull in the middle of the room surrounded by a large cushioned area. The name of the bar finally made sense.

"Are you going to…?" She asks, nodding toward the beast.

"Hell yea," Dean smiles as he lays an arm around her shoulders and leads her toward the bar. "Two Jacks and Cokes, easy on the Coke," Dean orders as they settle on two stools at the bar.

Once the bartender returns with their drinks, Y/N sips as she turns on her stool to people watch.

"You having fun so far?" Dean leans in so she can hear him.

"Of course. This is the best first date ever. You might even get lucky later," she tells him with a wink.

Dean smiles and chuckles. "Putting out on the first date eh?"

"Maybe. If you play your cards right."

Sadly, after a few hours and one bull ride later, it looked as if Dean had folded and had no chance of getting back into the action.

It all started going downhill shortly after Dean conquered Tucker the Bucker, he began acquiring the attention of another patron at the bar, a woman they both quickly learn is named Lisa.

Lisa is almost as tall as Y/N but has the body of an athlete, muscular arms and a narrow tiny waist that is all showcased in the flowered halter top she is wearing. The shorts she is sporting barely make it to the top of her thighs, making her tanned legs look miles long. She is the epitome of what Y/N is not!

Y/N watches as Dean blushes at the attention she is giving him, offering to buy him drinks and touching him on his arm or shoulder.

Y/N glares at the bitch each time but Lisa just ignores it. 'How dare that whore thinks she has a chance with my man!' she thinks as she watches Dean try to shrug off her advances.

After a half-hour, Lisa is practically hanging on to his every word and always has her hand on him. Y/N is getting fed up and livid.

'Why doesn't she take a hint? Why doesn't Dean tell her he is taken? Wait, is he enjoying the attention? Is she someone Dean could see himself fucking? Is he tired of me? We have been together for almost a decade and I'm pretty sure Dean has been faithful and loyal during that time. Does he want another pussy to get his dick wet?'

Sure, Dean had been on dates before-to keep up appearances, of course-but now Y/N wonders if her assumption that he hadn’t slept with any of the girls he’d taken out was correct. Had he been fucking them too?

The self-deprecating thoughts keep coming as Y/N sits there watching the scene in front of her, holding back the tears burning behind her eyelids.

When the song that's playing stops and before the next one begins, she hears Lisa proposition Dean.

"Why don't we get out of here and I'll ride you better than you rode Ole Tuck?"

That does it! Y/N jumps up and pushes her way in between her brother and the slut in front of him.

"Why don't you go find someone else to fuck? My boyfriend isn't interested in a whore like you."

"You-your boyfriend?" Lisa asks, wide-eyed and shocked. "I-I thought you were his sister or something. The resemblance is uncanny."

"I'm not his sister," Y/N proclaims. "I am his girlfriend, his lover, the mother of his kids. Yea honey, that's right. We have three beautiful children. So run on along and leave us alone!"

Lisa turns and takes off across the bar before Y/N can blink. She turns to look at Dean, who is smiling ear to ear, a look of pride coloring his face.

"That was awesome," he chuckles.

Y/N rolls her eyes and stomps toward the door, not really caring if Dean is following her or not.

She doesn't have to wait long before Dean joins her outside, unlocking the car as he walks toward it. She rips the door open and climbs in, slamming it shut. She is fuming!

Dean slides in behind the wheel and just sits there, staring straight ahead.

"If you want to go back in there and take her up on her offer, go," Y/N seethes.

Dean sighs and puts the key in the ignition turning the engine on.

"I don't."

As they head back toward the hotel, Y/N is trembling with rage. When he pulls into a spot, before he even puts it in Park, Y/N jumps out and slams the door again.

Dean sits and watches through the windshield as Y/N unlocks the room and storms in.

'Fuck!' he thinks to himself. 'What have I done?'

A/N: Uh-oh!!! Their first date isn’t going to end well is it???

"Why are people so hostile towards President Donald Trump?"

Chris O'Leary:

Before you pass my answer off as “Another Liberal Snowflake” consider that 1.) I'm an independent centrist who has voted Republican way more often in my life than Democrat, and 2.) If you want to call someone who spent the entire decade of his 20’s serving in the Marine Corps a snowflake, I’d be ready to answer the question what did you do with your 20’s?

Why Liberals (And not-so liberals) are against President Trump.

A.) He lies. A LOT. Politifact rates 69% of the words he speaks as “Mostly False or worse” Only 17% of the things he says get a “Mostly True” or better rating. That is an absolutely unbelievable number. How he doesn’t speak more truth by mistake is beyond me. To put it in context, Obama’s rating was 26% mostly false or worse, and I had a problem with that. Many of Trump’s former business associates report that he has always been a compulsive liar, but now he’s the President of the United States, and that’s a problem. And this is a man who expects you to believe him when he points at other people and says “They’re lying”

B.) He’s an authoritarian populist, not a conservative. He advances regressive social policy while proposing to expand federal spending and federalist authority over states, both of which conservatives are supposed to hate.

C.) He pretends at Christianity to court the Religious Right but fails to live anything resembling a Christ-Like Life.

D.) His nationalist “America First” message effectively alienates us and removes us from our place as leaders in the international community.

E.) His ideas on “Keeping us safe” are all thinly veiled ideas to remove our freedoms, he is, after all, an authoritarian first. They also are simply bad ideas.

F.) He couldn’t pass a 3rd-grade civics exam. He doesn't’ know what he’s doing. He doesn't understand how international relations work, he doesn’t understand how federal state or local governments work, and every time someone tries to “Run it like a business” it’s a spectacular failure. See Colorado Springs’ recent history as an example. The Short, Unhappy Life of a Libertarian Paradise And that was a businessman with a MUCH better business track record than Trump. We are talking about a man who lost money owning a freaking gambling casino.

G.) He behaves unethicaly and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.

H.) He is damaging our relationships with our best international friends while kissing up to nations that do not have our best interests in mind. To his question “Wouldn't’ it be great to have better relations with Russia?” The answer is Yes. But it is RUSSIA who needs to earn that, who must stop doing the things that are damaging to that relationship, or we are simply weaker for it.

I.) He has never seen a shortcut he didn't like, and you can’t take shortcuts in government. “Nuclear Option, Remove the Filibuster, I’ll change the Constitution by Executive Order…Don…what happens when you remove the filibuster and the other side retakes the majority in the Senate? Suddenly want that filibuster back? What happens if you manage to change the Constitution by Executive Order and an Anti-2A President wins the next election?

J.) He behaves and has always behaved as an unabashed racist. Yes, I’ve seen your favorite meme that claims he was never accused of racism before the Democrats…Absolutely false. Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2019 See the Central Park 5, the lawsuits and fines resulting from his refusal to lease to black tenants, the 1992 lost appeal trying to overturn penalties for removing black dealers from tables, his remarks to the house native American affairs subcommittee in 1993. The man sees and treats racial groups of people as monoliths.

K.) He is systematically steamrolling regulations specifically designed to keep a disaster like the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis from happening again.

L.) He speaks and acts like a demagogue. He sees the Legislative and Judicial branches of government as inconveniences, blows up at criticism no matter how deserved and actively tries to countermand constitutional processes, not to mention attempts to blackmail and coerce people who are saying negative things about him

M.) His choices for top positions, with the exception of Gen. Mattis, who is a gem, have been horrendous. A secretary of Education without a resume that would get her hired as a small town grammar school principal, A secretary of Energy who didn't know the Department of Energy was responsible for nuclear reserves, an EPA head whose biggest accomplishments to date had been suing the EPA on multiple occasions, an FCC head who while working for Verizon actively lobbied to kill net neutrality, and an Attorney General who thinks pot is “nearly as bad as heroin” and asked Congress for permission to go after legal pot businesses in states where it is legal. (There goes that great Republican States rights rally cry again, right? *Crickets*) An Interim AG after Firing his First AG who’s appointment is probably unconstitutional.

N.) He denies scientific fact. Ever notice that the only people you hear denying climate change are politicians and lobbyists? 99% of actual scientists studying the issue agree that it’s real, man-made and caused by greenhouse gasses. Ever notice that every big disaster movie starts with a bunch of politicians in a room ignoring a scientist's warning?

0.) He does not have the temperament to lead this nation. He is Thin Skinned, childish, and a bully, never mind misogynistic, boorish, rude, and incapable of civil discourse.

P.) He still does not understand that the words he speaks, or tweets, are the official position of 1/3 of the US government, and so does not govern his words. He still thinks when he speaks it’s good ol’ Donald Trump. It’s not. It’s the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. You have probably spread a meme or two around talking about how no president’s every word has ever been dissected before…YES, THEY ALWAYS HAVE. It’s just that every other president in our lifetime has understood the importance of his words and took great care to govern his speech. Trump blurts out whatever comes to his mind then complains when people talk about what a dumb thing that was to say.

Q.) He’s unqualified. If you owned a small business and were looking for someone to manage it, and an unnamed resume came across your desk and you saw 6 bankruptcies, showing a man who had failed to make money running CASINOS, would you hire him? He is a very poor businessman. This is a man it has been estimated would have been worth $10 BILLION more if he’d just taken what his father had given him, invested it in Index Funds and left it alone.

R.) He is President. But he refuses to take a leadership position and understand that he is everyone’s President. Conservatives complain about liberals chanting “Not my President” while Trump himself behaves as if no one but his supporters matter.

S.) He’s a blatant hypocrite. He spent 8 years bitching Obama out for his family trips, or golfing, or any time he took for himself, and what does he do? He was already on his 20th golf outing in APRIL of his 1st year in office. He constantly rants about respect for the military, yet can’t be bothered to attend the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day because of a little rain. (And that excuse about Marine One not being able to fly in the rain is HILARIOUS.)

T.) He’s a misogynist. It's not really ok in this day and age to be a misogynist, but it’s not a huge deal if you’re a private citizen. It’s a pretty big deal if you hate half the people you’re elected to lead. The disdain for women seeps out of his …whatever…. and he just can’t hide it.

U.) Face it. In any other election “Grab Em’ By the Pussy” would have been the end of that candidate’s chances. Back in the 90’s I used to marvel about how Teflon Bill Clinton was. I no longer do. The fact that he managed to slip by on that is as much a statement about how much people hate Hillary Clinton as it is about what is wrong with politics in this country right now.

V.) He has one response to a differing opinion. Attack. A good leader listens to criticism, to different points of view, is capable of self-reflection, tries to guide people to his point of view, and when necessary stands his ground and defends his convictions. Any of that sound like Trump? His default is not to Lead, its’ to attack. Scorched Earth. The Jim Acosta reaction is a good example. There was no defense of his convictions when Acosta was asking him repeated questions about his rhetoric on the caravan. His response was to attack Acosta.

W.) He takes credit for everything positive while deflecting blame for everything negative. Look at him with the Stock Market. He’s been bragging about it since day one, and to give credit where credit is due, speculation on coming deregulation early in his presidency did fuel some rapid growth, but to pretend that it’s all him, that we’re not in the 9th year of the longest bull market in history and THEN, when the standard market volatility that deregulation inevitably brings about starts to show up? Yeah. Look at yesterday. Hey! Stock Markets losing because the Democrats won! Do I need to bring out the Stock market chart for the last 10 Years again?

X.) He emboldens the worst among us. Counter-protesters are slammed into by a car while countering actual Nazi rally, and the response is there’s fault on “Both Sides” The media is at fault for a nut job sending them and Donald’s favorite targets pipe bombs. The truth is not all Republicans, not all Trump Supporters are racist, fascist lunatics. Many are just taken in by the bombastic personality and are living in an information bubble made worse by the fact that they unfollow anyone and ignore any source of information that makes them feel uncomfortable. People on the left do that too. The Biggest problem the right has right now is that the worst of the Right is the loudest and the most in your face, and the actual right, especially the Freaking PRESIDENT needs to be standing up and saying No. Those are not our values.

Y.) He seems to think the Constitution of The United States, the document that IS who we are, the document he took an oath to support and defend is some sort of inconvenience. He demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of Constitution, from believing he can alter the 14th through executive order, to thinking The free exercise clause in the first amendment somehow supersedes the establishment clause (not that he really understands either) or that the free exercise clause only applies to Christians. Or his attacks on freedom of expression and the press. He repeatedly makes it clear that if he’s read them, he does not understand Articles 1–3, and that’s something he really should have before he took the job, because they’re not going away.

Z.) I’ll use Z for something I do blame him for, but the rest of us have to carry the blame too. Polarization. This country is more politically polarized than I can remember in my lifetime. Some of you who are a few years older than I may remember how it was in the late 60’s when construction workers in New York were being applauded for beating up hippies, I think it’s pretty close to that right now, but that was before my time. And he is the cause of much of the current level polarization, but also the result. It didn't’ start with Trump. We’ve been going down this road I think since the eruption of the Tea Party in the early years of the Obama Administration. I do hope the tide turns before it gets much worse because the thing that scares me more than anything is what if that keeps going the way it has been? "

WISDOM OF THE MAASAI

In quest for a fathomable perspective, bunduzman had to go further north of Kilimanjaro to the wilderness of Maasai land. In pursuit of a lifestyle, cultural and cohesive human-fauna co existence I finally set my foot on the soil I always wanted to explore since years in memorial. Maybe we could say the time was right, destiny had aligned itself . little did I know of the pot of gold awaiting . I visited my late granny`s sister my only resource person I knew and a cultural hardliner to get the wisdom of the guru.

First impression and am pretty at peace, I knew this all I wanted. Hemming the landscape in abundance are dark black volcanic boulders but dispersed as compared to `shetani lava` free flow lava rocks. beneath the blue skies, amidst hillsides, sparsely distributed shrub tower from the dark soil but there`s magic that this place offers, afore me is the most photogenic Kilimanjaro background and am sure this place harbours wisdom and treasures of the land.

According to maa culture , upon a meet up a catch up is mandatory. My holism side is coming out alive strongly. The maa call it `lomon` and so do i. every minute here is a crucial learning opportunity for me so my indulgence is eclectic.

Soon am shown my accommodation and as per maa culture it is far from the boma (homestead) as am a moran(warrior). Morans sleep further from women and children . the set up is spectacular. Set in serenity and tranquility I must acknowledge my uncle Loserian sundowner`s eye for a choice of such a picturesque scenery.

My room`s background is the most perfect quaint I would ever capture of the Kilimanjaro. Certainly kibo it`s stature like a benevolent giant embracing the Amboseli plains, it`s snow caped top like a kings crown and from my conservation and ecological proficiency I understand the sleeping giant role in providence and sustainability. Set near an oldonyo (hill) rocks are arranged symmetrically in the interference -free solace and solitude.

Everywhere I have gone as an adventurer I have always valued the virtue of making friends. It`s 1700hrs and my uncle and I are sitted for a perfect sundowner moment. The view is blissful as the sunset glares are twilighting Amboseli national park plains.my guide who`s my uncle is quite familiar with the geo-location , a true warrior of the land!

My guide points out a large mass reflecting the gleams and says it`s Lake Amboseli in the horizons, further north and to the east a hill protrudes to my knowledge the landmark of Namanga town. From namanga you go to `sanya ya juu’ a vast area occupied by maas both in Kenya and Tanzania.am overlooking the pastoralists corridor from my sundowner`s point of view.

Deep to Tanzania is kijiweni,then to murtoni, sangarini, murtot, entonet, barazani ,kilombero, shauri moyo, bustani then to mtamburu heading west.day by day my stay opens up a deep understanding of the population dynamics, transborder cultural influence and cultural role in identity and heritage.

My pursuit of a multi lingual perfection is bearing fruits. It`s a couple of days and my maa tutor `mr. ole Naanyu credits my efforts.am familiar with basic words likje ` aaoomon olorika( can I have a chair please?), endaah(food), kuleeh(milk), osoit(rock), oldonyo (mountain), sambu(brown),aang( home), enkaji(house) ndare(goats), enkolong(sun), alapa( moon) enkare( water) just but a few….

Culture is the antidote of propaganda – always my mantra. Basic rules first for a common entity and understanding of anything in my bunduz pursuit.i attribute this to my flexibility and open mindedness that I can morph and fit in anywhere if only I take care of the language barrier.couple of days and am totally in love with thebunduz in maa land.is it the solitude? Is it the simplicity? Is it the community unity and compassion? Sure I feel a sense of belonging every homestead I visit.

My maa is getting better as I can now structure a sentence, `aeeyoo adol ingwesin lo Amboseli’-( I came to see the wildlife around Amboseli) is my introduction everytime I meet a local . `Ayaauwa lomon ol la shumbaa pedol motonyik, ingwesin-(my work is to show tourists birds and wildlife ) is the skeleton key phrase for my stay here . Am euphoric to meet even toddler named after me, `Fidel Saitabau’. it`s maa wisdom to name a child after a relative for matriarch continuity and remembrance.

My quest for a deeper `Ambo-kiili ecosystem burns deep within me . am in tune with the universe and so does my fate.i get a phone call from another uncle who invites me to visit them at their camp and this totally uplifts my spirit. The next Sunday morning am amped in my combat cargo pants and jungle green shirt ready to be picked up. The first sight of his giant sized physique reminds me am in the land of warriors- a reassurance of some sort I must say.

`Big Boy’ I call him knows the ways of the land and totally the Amboseli-tsavo ecosystem and it`s neighbouring conservancies. It’s a Sunday so we on easy mellow chill mode as I get acquinted with his fellow warriors of the bunduz. Their hospitality is warm though in solitude , out in the cold lies the camp amidst bush ambience.

I harbour a great conviction and passion with the conservation inclined personnel as we are in the same area of professionalism- CONSERVATION for future generations. To my surprise , Big boy has planned a reconnaissance survey and am totally stoked! In his Big boy boots , I board his offroad bike as we fade into the wildnerness.

Since my arrival I have been anxious to find out a story of a great tusker and am told not worry no more since I found the soldiers in the field who were there till the demise of the supreme tusker. slowly we cruise and transverse the plains of the conservancies. Big boy showing me the wildlife and local maa terminologies . we go deeper into an eco-tourism perspective as we are sombre on how `Rona virus’ has robbed tourism it`s liveliness.

We are at the AA Amboseli lodge and it`s a perfect totaln dysfunctionality thus when I spot my first aves , the black flecked yellow throated francolin and marabou stalk. To the north we head leaving behind the `lemongo museum’- dedicated to the study of wildlife .Am impressed as am aware of a fully stocked library.To the south west is the Osero house .

In a while we are at Sopa lodge and kibo safari camp all in a total shutdown.As an intrepid adventurer my soul cries as I understand the replica to the tourism kitty.intersecting the junction from sopa is the road down to the Kenya wildlife service headquarters and next to it is Amboseli National park kimana gate all in a total shutdown.on the main road is `The Mada hotels kilima camp also is the same state.

My point of interest is the Or kelunyet village – a maasai cultural village perfect for briefing of the maa culture but that not of my concern as of now. Outside or kelunyet is a watering place that has natured one of the greatest tuskers that has transversed this plain. Compared to the mighty historical Ahmed of marsabit who was mandated presidential escort.

As the water trickle down and fade so is the presence of the mighty tusker Tim who gave up ghost after five decades.But the glory still triumphs the land as every villager around here knew or must have heard of the great tusker and even the global village where he won the hearts of many.my uncle Big boy is a marshal in the wildlife field under `BIG LIFE FOUNDATION’.

February `4th is the morning of demise of Tim. Big boy was one of the first person in the `scene of crime’ as he explains this was Tim`s favourite feeding area just opposite or kelunyet the other side of the road to Amboseli gate.am glad am getting first hand information from a ranger who witnessed Tim`s last presence here before being taken to the museum.

A peace loving, gentle and benevolent tusker he was for tourist to take photos of him sometimes pushing away other tuskers who tried to be vicious . Tim would relax for them to get a perfect caption- a photogenic legend he was.

December 1969 is when the great legend was born in Amboseli national park. four years later he got the name Tim from an intrepid American researcher Cynthia Moss who had arrived in Kenya in 1972-founder of Amboseli trust for elephants.

From her research ,Cynthia Moss reckons that Tim came from the TD family led by his matriachial grandma Teresia and the mum was Trista. For a while we observe the place as my uncle even shows me his last cloacal emittance a prove that this was his area he liked. Rather than outside or kelunyet Tim would sometimes change environment to the yellow barked acacia filled and water abundant kimana sanctuary for water or greener pastures or probably his females, a gentle bull who filled Amboseli with his progeny.

Tim had survived the 1980 Amboseli severe drought an era when Tim lost his grandma Trista from spears of pastoralists. prior in 1977 he lost his mum so he was left to wander alone but survived-a soldier of a kind. Tim`s death was a twisted gut but my uncle Bid boy explained to me he had found him lying and bleeding from injuries incurred from another Tusker perhaps a confrontation. Tim was gentle ,carefull and grandiose as his tusks were ground touching .probably it is the MUSTH that brought about a conflict of interest.

As we transverse the airstrip outside Amboseli gate closer to Tawi lodge Tim`s memories just run my mind obnoxious in some way but I have to let nature take it`s cause. upclose sights of maasai giraffes distinctive by their yellow fawn, common ostrich and gerenuks divert my mind as I go back to the camp reminiscing my day.

Another day another dollar, but dollars won`t come easy here in the bunduz since Rona invaded. My mind is at ease when my uncle promises to show me Tim`s brother Greg, a great tusker like him and of close resemblance and supremacy he says.

Am euphoric by the mention of a foot patrol as I know this will give me an upclose real time floral fauna encounter .For me euphoria is preceding vulnerability .As i rub mosquito repellant on my body ready to zip my self in my sleeping bag as I sleep amped.

At 0600hrs I wake up to the most soothing ambience of aves wildebeasts in the background. sorrounded by bones of great mammalia is our camp.my maa friend gives thanks in maa as we head to make breakfast. we collect `rigiek’ (firewood) as we catch up in a while breakfast is ready.

At 0700hrs we ared out of the camp ready for the routine foot patrol.My uncle takes me through the GPS mapping process and `The Black View IP-68’ for data collection and we begin mapping our waypoints and sightings in the field. We are amidst grants gazelles and wildebeasts as the hilly breeze hits us to a rude awakening .

My uncle Big boy is my resource person as I gain a lot of lessons on bushlife survival techniques. I can identify male and female ostricvhes , their milky like excretion and general ostrich behaviour like laying eggs at the same periodand the role of female and males to protect the eggs tillthey hatch.Bog boy explains the colour variation and advantage in terms of camouflage.

At night the dark feathered male take roll of roosting on the egg as the female feeds while during the day the female takes over brown feathered blending with the savannah. Am more amused by ostriches` behavior once the eggs hatch. The responsibility of caregiver is left to one of the females, the most ferocious one as the others leave.

Our mission is to transverse the conservancy on a `wreck patrol’ leaving no point unattended as the GPS maps our path indicating bordering conservancies.Am now well conversant with the interface and from a conservationist and wildlife manager to be perspective am impressed. The app has a ranger unit entity, members present, patrol method, patrol area ,are poachers armed? Additional is a record of wildlife sighting, tracking live or dead, scat/dropping ,number of animals ,wildlife treatment, illegal human activities, animal mortality, human wildlife conflict, community service by rangers e.t.c

Amboseli neighbours kimana group ranch an area which my grandpa Mr. Elijah Mwatee had demarcated in his tenure of duty long before moving to kwale and kilifi. The group ranches that make up kimana ranch are kilitome conservancy, nailepu, osupuko, naalarami and olitiyani conservancies anf far is the kimana sanctuary and the olgulului group ranch.

As an avid birdwatcher I enjoy spotting the augur buzzard, black flacked yellow throated francolin, the Kori bustard, superb strerlings, helmeted guinea fowls , just but a few. I encounter a rare type of ungulate and Big boy tells me this is their hotspot area. Am talking gerenuks as they browse on the shrubs near the windsock area.

Despite the dominating grant`s gazelles, impalas, wildebeests, gerenuks attract my attention as these arid survivors are wise in their own nature. Gerenuks eat the fleshy part, buds, fruits, flowers and climbing plants and do not require water if ever, rarely reducing predator risk as they graze in open areas.

Gerenuks have a pre-orbital gland ( like topis) that emit a tar like scent bearing substance that is deposited between twigs and bushes. This alerts other gerenuks in the area that there is a claim of territory. Gerenuk itself is a oromo - somali name meaning giraffe like gazelle in Swahili(swara twiga).

A fascinating thing is also gerenuk`s male performing a courtship ritual to an oestrus female. He will approach herand horizontally lift one of his front legs and repeatedly tap the female under belly and flanks. Or else he will rub his pre orbital gland on her body marking her with his scent to mate. The local maas call gerenuks` enkoilii’.

Am glad beinga plant community enthusiast to learn their local maa names. The maa community widely cherish flora and have a name for every plant / tree and to my surprise a nutritional or medicinal value.

The acacia tortilis is treasured in most homesteads as a source of shade local name `ol tepesi’ and loved by elephants as they rub theirselves on their rough bark. The whistling acacia , local name `elwai’ is an ingredient for soup once they slaughter, oremit is a stomach cleanser, `elokii’ finger like euphobia for hedges, `entialong’ a stomach remedy, oltiasmat found near Amboseli gate on the saline soil has an aesthetic value, olo songori ( devil`s whip).

It`s almost noon and the overhead sun is scorching , determined in our hats we beat the shrubs bearing in mind the vulnerability we are exposed to. Of worth recalling is a Laxadonta Africana in solitude usually very vicious behind a bush who was throwing mud at himself. We came to such close proximity about five metres unaware of the staring danger just that a gut feeling saved us.

We are now at Tawi lodge Amboseli as we surpass the thicket and to Big boy`s precision of his line of duty he teels me have a break at ` The zebra plain hotel’. Our GPS reading 37 0025E 12 79S at UTM. Pressure 96 99 690

As I heave a sigh of relief and down my cold concoction am humbled by the dedication the rangers have devoted from `BIG LIFE FOUNDATION’ to ensure a peaceful cohesion of humans and wildlife in the Amboseli conservancies that stretches to kimana sanctuary and chyulu hills.

By the time we arrive at the camp at 1330 hrs we have done a pretty 28 km patrol leaving me with nostalgic memories. On the contrary to fatigue am motivated to explore more of the camps in chyulu hills and the other conservancies.

As my maasai is getting better I can identify wildlife like `ol` logwarak (lion), emuny (rhino), oloitiko( zebra), oe ngat (wildebeest), or birit(warthog), oyayaiii( porcupine) essuni( impala), or ngojine( hyena), or makao( hippo), or meot (giraffe), or kanjaoni (elephants), olo sokuan (buffalo).

“If a town is a ten mile radius then it is a very small town,” Bull replies, sliding drinks down the table.

“I mean. The Inquisition’s big. We don’t even house everyone here, just most of everyone. And we’ve got people from everywhere, people of all kinds,” Max says. “And with the development and near constant movement going on around here? We’ve got roads. We’ve got street lights. We have our own power grid and our own phone number area code. We’ve got our own special rules and public committee hearings and schools and dentists and libraries and daycare centers and parks. Why does the Inquisition feel more like a small town rather than a bustling urban landscape?”

“Probably because we’re super insular,” Ellana says, tucking the tray under her arm as she counts something on her fingers. “Are we absolutely sure we don’t want anything to eat aside from fries? They’ve got sliders on the menu today. And we just got a fresh shipment of avocados so Flyssa has the good guacamole.”

“Alright, fine, get some chips,” Krem says, “And more fries, Skinner’s already eaten like. Half of them.”

“A fourth,” Skinner says, taking another handful of fries from one of the paper lined baskets on the long table. “On my way to a third.”

Ellana nods and heads back towards the bar to place another order.

“How can we be insular? We’ve got so much variety going on that we represent a disproportionate slice of the population,” Max says.

“It’s because we’re so diverse that we’re insular,” Bull replies. “We’re so used to each other that every time someone new shows up we automatically go on the defensive.”

Max turns to Krem for help.

“Think about it, Trevelyan. All day long, every day of the week, all we see is the people on base. Usually in uniform or with a badge or some kind of something that shows they’re Inquisition. The only time we leave is when we’re on a mission or getting stuff we can’t get on base or maybe going to see a movie or whatever. Otherwise we’re here with each other. Eating. Sleeping. Doing laundry. Exercising. Working. We’re so self sufficient that it’s pretty much removed our need for other people.”

Ellana comes back, nudging Krem and Bull apart as she squeezes onto the bench between them.

“Are we still talking about our small town vibes?” Ellana asks.

“Yup,” Bull says. “You ordered?”

“Yeah, and I also ordered some cheese fries,” Ellana answers. “Anyway. We’re small town because we’re protective of each other, you know?”

“No. I don’t know,” Max says.

“We’re all so wildly different from each other, but also we’re all good friends and like. We’re all Inquisition. As long as you’re Inquisition it’s like you’re family. So if someone comes up and looks at your family funny of course you’re going to be on the defense about it.” Ellana takes a sip of her highball. “Just look at this table. There’s me and Skinner, queer elves, Aclassi, bi trans Tevinter ex-pat, and Bull, queer Qunari Tal-Vashoth. You aren’t going to run into this exact group formulation in the wild, you know? But if you come here, anywhere you go, there’s going to be some configuration of not your standard Orlesian or Fereldan or Free Marcher hetero probably middle to upper class group.”

“That is a lot of words.”

“We’re a lot of words,” Skinner says. “And a lot of those words turn hostile when questioned. Also some of those words are hungry for more fries.”

“But only sometimes,” Aclassi says.

“Always,” Skinner corrects. “I am always hungry for more fries.”

Max holds out his fist and Skinner pumps it with hers. “The one thing I have in common with a mostly straight white man.”

“Anyway, we feel like a very small rural town because we all act like we’re a small rural town, despite the fact that we’re basically running our own city state.”

“Enough talk about pointless observation,” Bull says. “Let’s get down to the real shit.”

“Real shit he says,” Skinner rolls her eyes, bumping her shoulder against Max’s. “As if the stuff we’re about to talk about is any better.”

Krem digs into his pocket, pulling out a handful of bills and coins. “Shit. I forgot to hit up the exchange after I went to Nevarra. Anyone know the exchange rate?”

“Think of it like a surprise,” Ellana says, unfolding a small cloth bag from her own pocket and holding it out to him. He dumps his coins and bills in. Ellana digs into her own pocket and pulls out some bills. “I’ve got Trade Coin bills on me right now, everyone else pony up.”

“I’m saying,” Max says as he pulls his own wallet out, “I’m saying that this bet is kind of mean spirited. This is why it feels like we’re small town. This is exactly why, thank you to everyone else for articulating it better than I could. But this is the exact reason why.”

“Because we place bets on if reporters will faint while touring the Inquisition’s main base?” Bull asks. “No, that just makes us assholes.”

“It’s going to be the labs that do them in,” Krem says.

“No, no,” Ellana shakes her head. “It’s going to be the childcare centers. Did you see what happened a few days ago? Peanut butter explosion. It still smells if you walk through the hall.”

“You both are assuming they even get that far,” Bull says, grinning as he puts his arm around Ellana to ruffle Aclassi’s hair. “You think I’mma let you guys down? I got a glimpse of the tour itinerary. They start off at the training grounds. And guess who’s got training court A booked bright and early tomorrow?”

“Fuck it isn’t us, is it? Why am I here drinking with you fucks if I’ve got to do laps and burpees tomorrow?”

“It’s Sutherland,” Bull says. “And you think I’m just going to let that greenhorn start them off easy? Nah. I plan on crashing that training session. Who’s in?”

“I am in to bully our newbie,” Ellana says, giving Bull a high five. “He’s still too polite for my liking. Gotta give him some good ol’ fashioned Inquisition edges.”

He doesn't understand how international relations work, he doesn’t understand how federal state or local governments work, and every time someone tries to “Run it like a business” it’s a spectacular failure. See Colorado Springs’ recent history as an example. “The Short, Unhappy Life of a Libertarian Paradise” and that was a businessman with a MUCH better business track record than Trump. We are talking about a man who lost money owning a freaking gambling casino.

G.) He behaves unethically and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.

N.) He denies scientific fact. We’ve all witnessed this with the latest world disaster, the Coronavirus. He was warned by scientists and doctors very early on that this could happen but he totally ignored these warnings which has had un-reversible repercussions. Have you also noticed that the only people you hear denying climate change are politicians and lobbyists? 99% of actual scientists studying the issue agree that it’s real, man-made and caused by greenhouse gasses. Ever notice that every big disaster movie starts with a bunch of politicians in a room ignoring a scientist's warning?

0.) He does not have the temperament to lead this nation. He is thin skinned, childish, and a bully, never mind misogynistic, boorish, rude, and incapable of civil discourse.

P.) He still does not understand that the words he speaks, or tweets, are the official position of 1/3 of the US government, and so does not govern his words. He still thinks when he speaks it’s good ole’ Donald Trump. It’s not. It’s the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. You have probably spread a meme or two around talking about how no president’s every word has ever been dissected before…YES, THEY ALWAYS HAVE. It’s just that every other president in our lifetime has understood the importance of his words and took great care to govern his speech. Trump blurts out whatever comes to his mind then complains when people talk about what a dumb thing that was to say.

R.) He is the President. But he refuses to take a leadership position and understand that he is everyone’s President. Again, this has been recently demonstrated with the Coronavirus Pandemic. Conservatives complain about liberals chanting “Not my President” while Trump himself behaves as if no one but his supporters matter.

V.) He has one response to a differing opinion. ATTACK. A good leader listens to criticism, to different points of view, is capable of self-reflection, tries to guide people to his point of view, and when necessary stands his ground and defends his convictions. Does any of this sound like Trump? His default is not to Lead, its’ to attack. Scorched Earth. The Jim Acosta reaction is a good example. There was no defense of his convictions when Acosta was asking him repeated questions about his rhetoric on the caravan. His response was to attack Acosta and he’s done this many times now with the

X.) He emboldens the worst among us. Counter-protesters are slammed into by a car while countering actual Nazi rally, and the response is there’s fault on “Both Sides” The media is at fault for a nut job sending them and Donald’s favorite targets pipe bombs. The truth is not all Republicans, not all Trump Supporters are racist, fascist lunatics. Many are just taken in by the bombastic personality and are living in an information bubble made worse by the fact that they unfollow anyone and ignore any source of information that makes them feel uncomfortable. People on the left do that too. The biggest problem the right has right now is that the worst of the Right is the loudest and the most in your face, and the actual right, especially the Freaking PRESIDENT needs to be standing up and saying No. Those are not our values.

Z.) I’ll use Z for something I do blame him for, but the rest of us have to carry the blame too. Polarization. This country is more politically polarized than I can remember in my lifetime. Some may remember how it was in the late 60’s when construction workers in New York were being applauded for beating up hippies, I think it’s pretty close to that right now. And he is the cause of much of the current level polarization, but also the result. It didn't’ start with Trump. We’ve been going down this road I think since the eruption of the Tea Party in the early years of the Obama administration. I was hoping the tide would turn before it got much worse because the thing that scared me more than anything is what if that keeps going the way it has been? Well, that ship has sailed given Trumps past record and the latest current events that have gone horribly wrong.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for reading my reasons which I hope has given you my insight rather than just some superfluous statement I could have made that would have been pretty meaningless of why I cannot and never will support this man as someone I respect, let alone support him as our President.

So, how about we turn this into an educational venture on the ecosystems of the world back then?(Completely disregarding time periods, Stegosaurus and Euoplocephalus shared similar environments, but not time period, being hundreds of millions of years apart)

Let’s begin with the smallest, Austrailia

Back then, it was similar to our Austrailia, just with more trees and jungle, and also being stuck to India and Antarctica.

“Meat eating bull”

Fun fact, this tiny meat eater had a special muscle and bone setup in its tail, wich made it able to run really heckin’ fast, but it could not turn very easily, that combined with its tiny vestigial arms, it was a horned sausage with with legs.

This is a representation of what flatlands looked like in South America in the Triassic, around 237 million years ago.

Herrerasaurus

“Herrera’s lizard”

A super old, elongated carnivore, one of the first dinosaurus to walk on two legs of this size. (At this point, crocodiles walked more like dinosaurus than dinosaurs, look up “Postosuchus” for an example)

That’s it. I hoped that, even if you don’t care about learning, you can take some of these fun facts into your brain.

A person asked the question, "Why are people so hostile towards President Donald Trump?"

Chris O'Leary:

Before you pass my answer off as “Another Liberal Snowflake” consider that

1.) I'm an independent centrist who has voted Republican way more often in my life than Democrat, and

2.) If you want to call someone who spent the entire decade of his 20’s serving in the Marine Corps a snowflake, I’d be ready to answer the question what did you do with your 20’s?

Why Liberals (And not-so liberals) are against President Trump.

C.) He pretends at Christianity to court the Religious Right but fails to live anything resembling a Christ-Like Life.

D.) His nationalist “America First” message effectively alienates us and removes us from our place as leaders in the international community.

E.) His ideas on “Keeping us safe” are all thinly veiled ideas to remove our freedoms, he is, after all, an authoritarian first. They also are simply bad ideas.

G.) He behaves unethicaly and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.

K.) He is systematically steamrolling regulations specifically designed to keep a disaster like the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis from happening again.

0.) He does not have the temperament to lead this nation. He is Thin Skinned, childish, and a bully, never mind misogynistic, boorish, rude, and incapable of civil discourse.

okay children, gather around the campfire with your tin cups of coffee and your pot of beans on the fire because ole cowgirl jess has a fucking THING to tell you about houston, texas.

i am a born and raised houstonian, one of the B E S T cities in the entire universe. we may be lacking sometimes in infrastructure and i wish we had a public transport (never gonna happen, we sprawl out over a thousand square miles and we are rocking a current 6.5 million population). and yes our traffic sucks balls because we’re huge and full and our highway system is insane (seriously, if your ETA anywhere is 30 minutes, that’s a short drive. your work commute is an hour each way? that’s average).

and sure we have those pesky little hurricanes that we keep coming back from bigger and better and stronger than ever. and yes, you can drive for 13 hours and still be in texas. it’s big.

but what we do have?

a fucking booming economy. the MOST diverse city in the united states of america. and i mean true diversity. it’s always a weird, perverse pleasure for me to show people around the city and let them really see what it’s like to live here.

this city, for all of its sheer monstrous sprawling size, is a community first and foremost. that texas can-do attitude is supersized here. you wanna feel like you’re at home? come to houston. we’ll show you a good time.

a food city that is UNPARALLELED. we have so many independent fresh new KICK ASS james beard award winning restaurants that it’s RIDICULOUS. we also have a huge immigrant population (there is probably a better way to say that?) who start up authentic restaurants and y’know what? we fucking love it all. (srsly check out this NY Times Article about our food scene and how it ties into diversity of the city or watch Anthony Bourdain’s Houston episode)

BREAKFAST TACOS. KOLACHES. okay, i think this is just a texas thing, but i’m claiming it for houston.

FUCKING SPACE!! NASA LIVES IN MY CITY. (i’m already tired of linking just trust me).

we have museums and parks and art installations and award winning symphonies and orchestras and operas that frequently beat out bigger named cities. we have a killer art scene, too! so! many! museums!

don’t get me started on our parks! giant sprawling parks in the middle of this giant city that span from one corner, along the bayou (that you can kayak down obvs and it’s SO MUCH FUN), and into the suburbs of houston.

SPORTS! we got (almost) all of them: baseball, basketball, soccer, football, rugby. and we are a PROUD sports nation. we tailgate with the best of them and we show up in DROVES to support our team.

like 4 state parks within an hour’s driving distance

a cost of living that’s reasonable af and let’s you LIVE YOUR LIFE

the US’ LARGEST MEDICAL CENTER which i proudly work in. there’s an entire hospital and research hub in the heart of houston doing cutting edge research and working to solve the world’s most serious health issues.

the houston livestock show and rodeo. biggest fucking rodeo around. the time of year we get to live up to all the stereotypes and go country dancing and parade horses and bulls and buggies through the urban city.

i love my city. i could go on and on and on about how the people have all the can-do attitude and work ethic of NY and the down-home southern hospitality of the deep south.

we have a huge chip on our shoulders (can you tell?) and are so fucking competitive and desperate for the world to see us as a cultural staple as much as NY or LA or Chicago.

we have our down sides, sure. in addition to the hurricanes, we have texas summers with a humidity that’ll make your hair poof up like a dallas socialite’s (regional humor, amirite?).

but whatever you think of houston--maybe you think we all ride horses (and don’t get me wrong, there are random horses and farms and cows intermingled in the urban landscape), maybe you think we’re all MAGA-toting republicans (fun fact! the metropolitan cities in texas are pretty blue...y’know....like most cities).

leave all your preconceived notions of houston behind and come visit and be AMAZED at this incredible city. and if you come, let me be your guide.
