FUTURE ULTIMATE PHONE PEOPLE THINK
Google pixel 9pro
The Google Pixel 9 Pro is the new kid on the block in this year's lineup. The Pixel 8 Pro was succeeded by the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and the 9 Pro is a new addition to the portfolio - it is a compact, full-featured flagship with all of the bells and whistles of its bigger XL sibling
A compact Pixel is not a new concept in itself, of course, but this is the first time Google is bringing the entirety of its A-game to this form factor. The Pixel 9 Pro packs a 48MP, 5x optical periscope telephoto camera - the same as the Pixel 9 Pro XL. There is also UWB onboard the Pixel 9 Pro. Frankly, it's kind of amazing that Google managed to fit so much extra hardware inside what is essentially the same footprint as the non-Pro Pixel 9.
Google Pixel 9 Pro specs at a glance: Body: 152.8x72.0x8.5mm, 199g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus 2), glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus 2), aluminum frame; IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 min). Display: 6.30" LTPO OLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 2000 nits (HBM), 3000 nits (peak), 1280x2856px resolution, 20.08:9 aspect ratio, 495ppi; Always-on display. Chipset: Google Tensor G4 (4 nm): Octa-core (1x3.1 GHz Cortex-X4 & 3x2.6 GHz Cortex-A720 & 4x1.92 GHz Cortex-A520); Mali-G715 MC7. Memory: 128GB 16GB RAM, 256GB 16GB RAM, 512GB 16GB RAM, 1TB 16GB RAM; UFS 3.1. OS/Software: Android 14, up to 7 major Android upgrades. Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.7, 25mm, 1/1.31", 1.2Âľm, dual pixel PDAF, OIS; Telephoto: 48 MP, f/2.8, 113mm, 1/2.55", dual pixel PDAF, OIS, 5x optical zoom; Ultra wide angle: 48 MP, f/1.7, 123-degree, 1/2.55", dual pixel PDAF. Front camera: 42 MP, f/2.2, 17mm (ultrawide), PDAF. Video capture: Rear camera: 8K@30fps, 4K@24/30/60fps, 1080p@24/30/60/120/240fps; gyro-EIS, OIS, 10-bit HDR; Front camera: 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60fps. Battery: 4700mAh; 27W wired, PD3.0, PPS, 55% in 30 min (advertised), 21W wireless (w/ Pixel Stand), 12W wireless (w/ Qi-compatible charger), Reverse wireless. Connectivity: 5G; eSIM; Wi-Fi 7; BT 5.3, aptX HD; NFC. Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, ultrasonic); stereo speakers; Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, Satellite SOS service, Circle to Search. Google also paid some extra attention to the display of the Pro. It is a bit bigger than the Pixel 8's and better than that inside the regular Pixel 9. The resolution has been upgraded to 1280 x 2856 pixels, the maximum brightness has been improved, and there is LTPO tech for dynamic refresh rate adjustment.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review
The $1,899.99 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 picks right up where the Z Fold 5 left off: It's an exceptionally versatile phone with enough power to handle most any task you throw its way. The improvements over its predecessor aren't groundbreaking, but its refined cover screen experience, increased durability, and reduced weight all help give it a premium feel in line with its price. The fantastic camera system, seven years of software support, and innovative Galaxy AI features are highlights, too. Our main complaint centers around the Z Fold 6's underwhelming charging specs, but that's not enough of an issue to prevent it from earning our Editors' Choice award. It's simply the best big foldable phone phone on the market.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 6.04 by 2.68 by 0.48 inches (HWD) when closed, spans 6.04 by 5.22 by 0.22 inches when open, and weighs 8.43 ounces. It's shorter, wider, thinner, and lighter than the Z Fold 5, which measures 6.10 by 2.64 by 0.53 inches closed, expands to 6.10 by 5.11 by 0.24 inches unfolded, and tips the scales at 8.92 ounces. The aging $1,799.99 Google Pixel Fold is downright hefty by comparison. It comes in at 5.50 inches by 3.10 inches by 0.50 inches closed, folds out to 5.50 by 6.24 inches by 0.23 inches, and weighs 9.98 ounces. All three of these devices fold flat when closed, a must for all foldable phones these days.
The Z Fold 6 and Fold 5 have the same layout of buttons and ports. The volume rocker and power button/fingerprint sensor are on the right edge. The fingerprint sensor works well, with few errors. Thankfully, Samsung now allows you to input your fingerprint while the device is still closed. (This was not possible on the Z Fold 5.) Face Unlock is also an option, but it's less secure. A USB-C 3.2 port for charging and data transfer is at the bottom right of the opened device, while dual speaker grilles are at the left top and left bottom of the frame. Whereas the grilles for the latter have a sleek, slit-like appearance here, those on the Z Fold 5 have nine distinct holes. The SIM tray on the left frame accepts one physical nano-SIM; the Z Fold 6 also supports eSIM.
Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covers the front screen and the back panel; this is the same material that protects the Galaxy Z Flip 6. According to Corning, this glass handles drops on rough surfaces better than the original Victus. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra uses a newer material called Gorilla Armor, which resists scratches, protects from drops, and reduces screen reflections by 75%. I would like to see the Galaxy Z Fold series adopt the same options as the S24 Ultra in light of their higher starting prices.
Samsung uses an enhanced Armor Aluminum for the Z Fold 6's frame, which is 10% stronger than the Armor Aluminum on the Fold 5. Also new for this model is official dust resistance. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 gets an IP48 rating, an improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold 5's IPX8 rating. Both can survive submersion in water, though the Z Fold 6 can also resist ingress of materials 1mm or larger. For comparison, the Pixel Fold has an IPX8 rating.
The build quality of the Z Fold 6 is superb, with great attention to detail. The squarish corners and increased width are the biggest design changes. Galaxy Note and S24 Ultra fans will be familiar with the pressure of the corners, but some people might find them uncomfortable. I was aware of the corners at first, but they became normal to my hands after a few hours. Holding the closed Fold 6 on the hinge side is more forgiving, thanks to the hinge's curves. I found the Z Fold 6 more comfortable to hold while open than closed, thanks to the difference in weight distribution.
The hinge operates smoothly with the right amount of resistance. The Z Fold 6 holds its angle from about 45 to 135 degrees; otherwise, it snaps shut or open. Like previous models, the device should survive 200,000 folds. OnePlus claims its foldable phone, the OnePlus Open, can withstand a million folds.
Three cameras are on the rear in a raised, pill-shaped area, with a flash to the right. Otherwise, the back is a showcase for the colored panel. The Z Fold 6 comes in Pink, Navy, or Silver Shadow (the last the color of my test unit). Samsung also sells two exclusive colors on its website: Crafted Black or White. The matte finish on the back, frame, and hinge gives the Z Fold 6 a sophisticated look, though the back of my test unit was a smudge magnet.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is compatible with the S Pen stylus on the inner screen, though it's an optional accessory. Samsung says that any S Pen that works with older Z Fold models will work on the Z Fold 6.

Checking out Google's Newest Foldable Innovation: Pixel 9 This previous full week denoted a notable instant for Google, along with many cracks providing our company ideas in to the upcoming Pixel 9 tools anticipated to become uncovered at the Made through Google celebration on August 13th. The water leaks were actually thus substantial that Google basically verified the tools on their formal internet site and also YouTube networks. Of all the info disclosed, the best fantastic information have to do with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Having actually made use of the first-generation Pixel Fold throughout the majority of the year, the enhancements in the second-generation version seem to be extremely appealing. Our team possess plenty to explore, therefore rest as well as join our team as our team check out all the relevant information our company carry the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. For those certainly not considering collapsible phones, do not panic, as our experts will definitely be actually dealing with all the Pixel 9 gadgets substantially. Keep upgraded through signing up for our network, as our team possess a great deal of web content arriving your technique. In addition to its impressive display and camera features, the Pixel Fold 2 is expected to boast some powerful internal specs. The device is likely to be powered by the Tensor G4 chip the Tensor G3 and is paired with deliver a seamless AI experience, given Google's emphasis on AI capabilities. The Tensor G4 is a minor improvement over its predecessor, but it still utilizes the cutting-edge 4nm process and an advanced fan for better heat management and potentially longer battery life. Furthermore, the Pixel Fold 2 is expected to feature am, which could enable faster 5G speeds and improved power efficiency, as well as satellite connectivity for enhanced coverage. While the Tensor G4 is not a drastic improvement over the Tensor G3, it still represents a solid upgrade for the Pixel Fold 2.The brand-new style is actually creatively attractive, as well as I delight in along with the development up until now. While I'll skip the distinguishing appeal and also charitable interior display screen of the initial Pixel Fold, which was actually best for multitasking, its own large condition created it unhandy to lug and also challenging to endure along with one palm. On the other hand, the modified style of the Pixel Fold 2 seems even more sleek as well as might be actually preferable for unaided usage as well as less complicated to get on a wallet, yet our team'll require to receive our palms on the end product to acquire a correct feeling of its own functionality. The absolute most striking makeover is actually the unit's bodily concept. Unlike its own ancestor, the Pixel Fold 2 takes on a taller as well as extra slimmer profile page when shut, similar to the OnePlus Open's layout. This adjustment delivers a notable upgrade to the cover display, raising its own measurements coming from 5.8 ins to 6.4 ins. The back of the unit was actually additionally showcased, exposing the profits of the ceramic color design, right now alonged with gold tones. Particularly, the cam component has actually undertaken a revolutionary redesign, walking out on the trademark cam pub for an extra slanted, top-right edge positioning. The electronic camera bump shows up significant, mentioning possible cam improvements. Also, a look of the interior monitor shows dramatically decreased frames, moving the selfie cam and also straightening along with dripped NCC pictures. While the internal frames are actually certainly not as very little as those on the Z Fold or even OnePlus Open, the remodeling is actually still an invited one.Google has a strong track record of optimizing older camera hardware effectively. Their top-notch computational photography algorithms and utilization of machine learning through the Tensor G4 chip are expected to enable AI capabilities that can deliver impressive results even with outdated sensor technology.
While I remain unconcerned personally, I do believe that the "Pro" designation in Pixel 9 Pro Fold should imply professional-grade cameras. I am cautious about this rumor for the time being, as it seems unlikely for Google to label the Fold 2 as "Pro" without the corresponding hardware features. Let's stay patient and observe how this unfolds. This week, in addition to design updates, we've seen rumors emerge about the device's internal specifications, including enhancements to the battery and camera. Although Google has yet to confirm these details, they're worth exploring. A recent leak from Taiwan's NCC revealed that the Pixel Fold 2 will feature a dual-battery setup, comprising a smaller 1,183 mAh battery and a larger 3,377 mAh battery, totaling 4,560 mAh. The same leak also disclosed a charging speed of 20.25 watts. Notably, this battery capacity is smaller than the original Pixel Fold's 4,727 mAh and even trails behind the base model Pixel 9's 4,780 mAh. The charging speed also appears to be slower than the Pixel Fold 1's 21 watts. While the Tensor G4 processor and new Samsung modem may offer improved power efficiency, it's possible that the device's sleeker design came at the cost of reduced battery size. Real-world testing will be necessary to determine how these changes impact performance, with the hope that it will at least match, if not surpass, its predecessor. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold's layout has actually been actually the target of a lot interest and also conjecture, along with Google's very own taster advertisement and also different water leaks delivering a glance of what is actually to find. The unit, which some describe as the Pixel Fold 2, has actually been actually shrouded in puzzle, however latest discoveries coming from the Taiwanese NCC (their substitute of the United States FCC) have actually dropped some lighting on its own style. Google.com's quick intro, which lasted simply 30 secs, offered our team a simple 6 secs of display screen opportunity along with the gadget, yet that sufficed to verify many vital information. Finally, the cost is worth discussing. Although the official figures have not been disclosed, a French retailer has unofficially revealed a European price point of around EUR1,900, equivalent to roughly $2,066. Keep in mind that this is purely speculative, and we'll have to wait until Google's official announcement on August 13th to confirm the price. This advance notice allows you to adjust your budget accordingly, as a potential price hike is possible. The camera system on the Pixel Fold 2 is expected to see some updates, although it's not clear what improvements we can expect. A recent report from Android Authority suggests that the main camera will still use the same Sony IMX787 sensor asa. While this sensor is certainly capable, it's disappointing to see Google sticking with the same technology in a device that could cost over $1,800. However, the ultra-wide camera is rumored to get an upgrade, switching to the Samsung 3LU sensor at 12 megapixels. The telephoto camera is expected to use the same Samsung 3J1 sensor as the Fold 1, with optical image stabilization. Both selfie cameras are expected to use the Samsung 3K1 sensor at 10 megapixels, which is also used in the S24 devices. Overall, it seems like most of the camera system will be similar to the original Pixel Fold, with the most notable changes being the ultra-wide and selfie cameras. As we conclude, here are some additional details that were not covered in previous sections but are noteworthy. Regrettably, it seems that thermometer like the other Pro models in the series. Moreover, it does not appear to support the Qi2 wireless charging standard, a fact that is disappointing. Nonetheless, it is equipped with ultra-wideband support for precise location tracking and other connectivity features. On a positive note, there are rumors that a one-year subscription to Gemini Advanced will be included, offering various benefits such as access to Gemini 1.
5 Pro with an expanded context window, the capability to upload files for answers and insights on the Gemini web app, two terabytes of cloud storage, and priority access to new features. It is anticipated that Google will announce additional value by August 13th. The estimated value of the one-year subscription is $240, making it a valuable addition for users who utilize AI features. If AI technology is not of interest to you, the subscription may not hold as much value, but it could still be worth claiming the free trial.I am actually presently delighted along with the improved concept, however allow's evaluate the continuing to be equipment parts. While the Google intro supplied an examine, the NCC cracks offer even more in-depth relevant information. Along with 12 pictures as well as tear-downs on call for assessment, our team can easily notice the obsidian shade alternative, validating the profit of both ceramic as well as obsidian appearances. I am actually enthusiastic for an additional restricted version launch, as I possess a in unique units. The joint device seems to be comparable, yet dripped pictures show that the phone can easily right now open up totally standard, a considerable augmentation coming from the initial concept. In addition, the punch-hole selfie electronic camera positioned in the best right section of the interior screen is actually currently obvious, no more combined within the frame. It stays unsure whether it will definitely be actually a dealt with intermediary or even if Google will certainly take advantage of under-display modern technology to cover it when not being used. The frame seems created coming from the exact same shiny plastic as the preliminary Pixel Fold, understood for its own sensitivity to blemishes as well as damages because of the vacancy of bumpers or even increased upper hands found in various other collapsible units. I am actually confident that Google has actually improved the longevity, as the interior frames of my first-generation tool program indications of damage after virtually a year of utilization.s a rewritten version of the paragraph: As I wrap up, I 'd like to extend a massive thank you to our valued channel members who are tuning in live right now. We're thrilled to have your backing and are committed to serving up a steady stream of Pixel-focused content to satisfy your cravings. Additionally, for those seeking trustworthy phone repair solutions, I highly recommend Gadget Kings PRS - my trusted repair experts of choice. Be sure to check them out for more details.I have a positive outlook on the Google is dedicating more effort to improving its quality. Although the camera system has potential for enhancement, the device still looks like ave been pleased with my Pixel Fold 1, despite its limitations compared to the primary series in terms of AI capabilities. However, it seems that Google has addressed this issue in the Pixel Fold 2, which could be a game-changer. The foldable market is ripe for's arrival may give Samsung a run for tuned for my full review on August 13th, and don't forget to subscribe for the latest updates! It's been a pleasure sharing with you, I'm Jordan Floyd from 95 Google. OnePlus Open review: Not bad, but not great either
In its own weird way, the OnePlus Open is proof that foldables are now a viable category of smart devices. In other words, OnePlus has done what it has been doing with smartphones for years: Offer something a little less good than the competition, for a lot less money. Thatâs all relative, of course. This is a $1,700 device in theory, though OnePlus' online store will let you trade in any phone in any condition to get at least $200 off that starting price. With that in mind, letâs think about OnePlus Open as a $1,500 foldable. By those standards, itâs alright. OnePlus Open provides two really nice displays, impressive-looking hardware and camera specs, and a suite of multitasking features â comparable to what you get on Samsung and Googleâs equivalents, both of which start at $1,800.But that discount comes with some compromises, basic missing features, and one deeply irritating physical quirk. SEE ALSO: Google Pixel Fold is a quality first swing at a foldable
What I love about OnePlus Open
Great specs, on paper
The form factor is familiar to foldable fans. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable There are some pretty problematic elements of OnePlus Open, but its spec sheet definitely isnât one of them. Take a look:- 6.31-inch outer display, 10-120Hz refresh rate, 2484x1116 resolution - 7.82-inch inner display, 1-120Hz refresh rate, 2440x2268 resolution - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip - 16GB ram - 512GB storage - 4,805mAh batteryThose are all very big numbers! And big numbers usually mean good things, right? After all, youâd be hard-pressed to find bigger and better displays or more RAM in any comparable smart device. That's one of the latest, greatest Snapdragon chips powering everything.Pretty good at the things foldables are supposed to do
Hard to complain about its viability as a regular phone, too. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable Another plus for the OnePlus Open: itâs competitive with what Samsung and Google offer with the Z Fold 5 and Pixel Fold, respectively, in terms of multitasking features. As with those phones, opening up the OnePlus Open to use the larger, almost tablet-sized inner display transforms the experience in fairly intelligent ways. Thereâs an app taskbar along the bottom edge of the screen thatâs pretty much identical to what Samsung and Google have. Anyone who has used those phones will feel right at home here.Simply open one app, then drag another up from the taskbar to either side of the display to put OnePlus Open in a split-screen view. You can do this with up to three apps, though the screen can really only display two at a time. The edge of the third app can be seen beside, above, or below the other two apps. To view it, just tap it; one of the other two apps will be relegated to that position instead.

You can see the third app on the left border of the screen. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable OnePlus Openâs limit of three splitscreen apps at a time beats Googleâs limit of two, but falls short of Samsungâs limit of four. I also found using the outer display as a regular smartphone was more than adequate, as the 6.31-inch display is just about the right size. I never felt it was abnormally tall. At 239g (or about a half-pound), itâs remarkably light for something thatâs essentially two phones stacked on top of each other. This creates an experience on par with the Z Fold 5 and Pixel Fold on a basic level. The OnePlus Open is a nice phone to use, whether itâs folded or unfolded. Both displays are bright, vibrant, and smooth. Whether youâre scrolling social media, reading a book, or streaming videos, youâre pretty much good to go.
What I dislike about OnePlus Open
Incredibly annoying camera bump
It's huge! Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable Unfortunately, there is one big problem with the OnePlus Openâs physical profile: The camera bump. The right side of the phone houses the usual volume rockers, a power button, and a silencing slider. However, OnePlus partnered with Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad for the camera design, as it has in the past â and the result this time is a monstrously large circular camera bump that might look fancy, but gets in the way more often than not.Seriously, the thing takes up something like 40 percent of the phoneâs backside. When using OnePlus Open one-handed as a normal phone, itâs almost impossible not to touch it. I found this very annoying throughout my time with the device, and vastly prefer Google and Samsungâs smaller camera relays. Not quite a powerhouseAgain, going back to the spec sheet, OnePlus Open should be a mega-powerhouse thanks to its state-of-the-art chipset and frankly almost excessive amount of RAM. But testing tells a different story. The Geekbench 6 benchmarking app gave the device a relatively meager multi-score score of 4,411. Compared to benchmark scores for other recent Android handsets, itâs unimpressive. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes in at 4,987. More to the point, the OnePlus 11 from earlier this year came in at 4,891.It doesnât make a lot of sense for a very expensive device, with beefy-looking specs, to generate a score that much lower than other phones that should be less powerful. To be fair, this doesnât mean the OnePlus Openâs performance is bad. I didnât encounter any noteworthy slowdown or hitches in my time with it, even while multitasking three apps at once. Pretty much any new flagship device you can buy in 2023 has a baseline performance level thatâs at least good. Itâs just that some are better than others, and OnePlus Open falls behind some cheaper devices, according to benchmarking software.
Whatâs âehâ about OnePlus Open
Itâs not all there yetAnother potential issue with OnePlus Open thatâs worth acknowledging is something thatâs generally true of any manufacturerâs first attempt at something. In short, thereâs one really big missing feature: Wireless charging. At a sticker price of $1,800, youâd generally expect support for that sort of thing. I donât personally care all that much about wireless charging, as I find it inefficient. But I know a lot of people prefer it, and they wonât be served here.Iâd be remiss not to mention that a 67W charger comes in the box; it can juice this bad boy up in less than an hour. That should soften the blow of not having wireless charging somewhat, but again, not everyone will be satisfied with that.
OnePlus Open cameras
OnePlus did not skimp on the camera specs, either. There are five total lenses (three on the back, two on the front): - 48MP main rear lens - 64MP telephoto rear lens - 48MP ultra-wide rear lens - 20MP selfie cam on the inside - 32MP selfie cam on the outsideAgain, big numbers! With those big numbers come an adequate set of modes and final results that can look reasonably beautiful, or at least beautiful enough for your Instagram feed.

I love New York. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable One thing that impressed me was the telephoto lens, to an extent. Itâs got up to 6X in-camera zoom, and up to 120X (!!!) âUltra Resâ zoom capabilities. Up to 6X, things look fantastic. I was able to get ultra-sharp photos of the Empire State Building from all the way across the East River that way.

This is at 6X zoom. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable Unfortunately, I had a harder time getting anything positive out of the 120X zoom function. Possibly because of the fact that itâs near impossible to keep your hands steady at that level of zoom, the results look smeared.

Yeah, that's not going on IG. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable Thereâs also a 3X portrait mode option, which produces some real nice-looking shots.

3X portrait shots look nice. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable Put simply, this is a camera array thatâs at least comparable with what Google and Samsung offer on their foldables. At a discounted price (compared to those phones, anyway), Iâd call that a win.

Nighttime shots look good, too. Credit: Alex Perry/Mashable
OnePlus Open battery life
I wasnât able to use any battery benchmarking software with OnePlus Open due to a lack of compatibility, but the practical results spoke for themselves. I was able to get a little more than 24 hours of normal usage (social media, streaming music and videos, etc.) before I had to plug it in. Thatâs not overly impressive, but itâs at least on par with other contemporary flagship devices. Combine that with the fact that it charges super quickly, and battery life isnât really a problem here.

OnePlusâ alert slider debuts on foldables. For its 5.8mm compact folding body, the OnePlus Openâs slider was completely redesigned. The slider has been enlarged and moved to the mid-frame for one-handed use. Module interior height and width are 1.7mm and 1mm lower than OnePlus 11, saving 42% space.
The OnePlus Open is lighter and smaller than single-display phablets, making it barely noticeable in pockets. The Open offers the convenience of a single-display smartphone and Pro tablet without the bulk at 239g and 5.8mm.
Durability was not compromised. The Openâs clever material-component choices and high-efficiency, well-optimized mechanical design make it robust despite its ultra-compact size. A patented Flexion Hinge with 69 parts allows more interior space for high-performance hardware than the industry average of 100.
TĂV Rheinland certified OnePlus Open for reliable folding after extreme environmental tests and 1,000,000 test-folds, or 100 folds per day, over 10 years.
Light makes might, and might makes âcrease-minimalâ the carbon fiber display support structure, 8-axis turn-mechanism, and Flexion âwater-dropâ-shaped pressure-relieving hinge keep creases minimal even after extensive use. The triple main camera on OnePlus Open is revolutionary.
The first foldable phone with Sonyâs revolutionary LYT-T808 image sensor is OnePlus Open. The 1/1.43-inch sensor has 1.12Îźm pixels. The âDual-Layer Transistor Pixelâ âPixel Stackedâ technology increases light ingestion and storage in a smaller footprint. The âDual-Layer Transistor Pixelâ architecture stacks two layers of pixel transistors below photodiodes instead of side by side. Like the IMX989, the most advanced Sony IMX 1-inch sensor with a conventional pixel structure, this doubles light intake and storage (Full Well Capacity) for brighter, clearer images with less overexposure.
The OnePlus Open optimizes 0.6Xâ10X consumer focal length imaging. In addition to the main camera, the Open has a custom 64MP telephoto camera with OIS that can zoom 3X optically, 6X losslessly in-sensorly, and 120X Ultra Res Zoom Sensors must be customized physically. Its periscope zoom and custom d-cut lens exterior fit perfectly into a thin device like the Open and let 23% more light into the sensor. Most importantly, this foldable has the largest 1/2-inch telephoto sensor ever used for low-light imaging.
OnePlus improves Portrait Mode with Hasselblad while using the best main and telephoto cameras on any fold. The OnePlus Openâs innovative cameras replicate Hasselblad camerasâ DSLR-level depth-tracking, bokeh, and flare effects with XCD 3,5/30, 2,8/65, and 2,5/90V lenses. Dual 2K 120Hz fluid AMOLED ProXDR displays will give the OnePlus Open a flagship cover screen and Pro tablet main display.
Cover screen is 6.31âł and 20:09. For ultra-bright, smooth, and responsive visuals 24/7, the 120Hz cover screen has a peak brightness of 2800nits and an HBM of up to 1400nits. Ion-exchanged ceramic Guard protects the cover screen 20% better than Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Opening the device to the 7.82âł main display with 89.6% screen-to-body ratio enhances content immersion. Ultra-Thin Glass above the flexi OLED, TPU for impact protection, and an anti-reflection screen protector protect this main display as well as the cover screen.
For immersive modern entertainment, The Open supports Dolby Vision. With triple spatial speakers, the OnePlus Open delivers stunning audio and video. A proprietary spatial audio algorithm and these speakers improve Dolby Atmos. 3D sound will be heard from all directions. The cinematic audio-visual experience of the true wireless flagship OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is available anywhere. The new âRecentâ folder on OnePlus Openâs taskbar makes recent photos, saved images, edited documents, and more instantly accessible. You can drag and drop them into Gmail, OneNote, Google Message, Microsoft Teams, and WhatsApp for instant sharing. Like the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus Open has top-tier power specs to boost this unmatched experience.
Oneplus open battery life:
RAM-Vita speeds up 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 read-only memory on OnePlus. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform powers everything. A 4,805mAh battery and 67W SUPERVOOC charging charge the OnePlus Open from 1% to 100% in 42 minutes. For fast, seamless connections anywhere, the Open has Wi-Fi 7 and dual 5G cellular connectivity. All of these ensure years of fast, smooth folding.

Xiaomi Unveils Wireless AR Glasses Prototype, Powered by Same Chipset as Meta Quest Pro
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi today showed off a prototype AR headset at Mobile World Congress (MWC) that wirelessly connects to the userâs smartphone, making for what the company calls its âfirst wireless AR glasses to utilize distributed computing.â
Called Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition, the device is built upon the same Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chipset as Metaâs recently released Quest Pro VR standalone.
While specs are still thin on the ground, the company did offer some info on headline features. For now, Xiaomi is couching it as a âconcept technology achievement,â so it may be a while until we see a full spec sheet.

Packing two microOLED displays, the company is boasting âretina-levelâ resolution, saying its AR glasses pack in 58 pixels per degree (PPD). For reference, Meta Quest Pro has a PPD of 22, while enterprise headset Varjo XR-3 cites a PPD of 70.
The company hasnât announced the headsetâs field of view (FOV), however it says its free-form light-guiding prisms âminimizes light loss and produces clear and bright images with a to-eye brightness of up to 1200nit.â
Electrochromic lenses are also said to adapt the final image to different lighting conditions, even including a full âblackout modeâ that ostensibly allows it to work as a VR headset as well.

As for input, Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass includes onboard hand-tracking in addition to smartphone-based touch controls. Xiaomi says its optical hand-tracking is designed to let users to do things like select and open apps, swipe through pages, and exit apps.
As a prototype, thereâs no pricing or availability on the table, however Xiaomi says the lightweight glasses (at 126g) will be available in a titanium-colored design with support for three sizes of nosepieces. An attachable glasses clip will also be available for near-sighted users.
In an exclusive hands-on, XDA Developers surmised it felt near production-ready, however one of the issues noted during a seemingly bump-free demo was battery life; the headset had to be charged in the middle of the 30-minute demo. Xiaomi apparently is incorporating a self-developed silicon-oxygen anode battery that is supposedly smaller than a typical lithium-ion battery. While thereâs an onboard Snapdragon XR 2 Gen 1 chipset, XDA Developers also notes it doesnât offer any storage, making a compatible smartphone requisite to playing AR content.
This isnât the companyâs first stab at XR tech; last summer Xiaomi showed off a pair of consumer smartglasses, called Mijia Glasses Camera, that featured a single heads-up display. Xiaomiâs Wireless AR Glass is however much closer in function to the concept it teased in late 2021, albeit with chunkier free-form light-guiding prisms than the more advanced-looking waveguides teased two years ago.
Xiaomi is actively working closely with chipmaker Qualcomm to ensure compatibility with Snapdragon Spaces-ready smartphones, which include Xiaomi 13 and OnePlus 11 5G. Possible other future contributions from Lenovo and Motorola, which have also announced their intentions to support Snapdragon Spaces.
Qualcomm announced Snapdragon Spaces in late 2021, a software tool kit which focuses on performance and low power devices which allows developers to create head-worn AR experiences from the ground-up, or add head-worn AR to existing smartphone apps.
