Your drawings are so so cute! Curious, what drawing tablet do you use??
I use two different draing tablets. The 'I Care' comic is drawn with an Amazon Fire tablet, and the 'Misunderstood Love' and 'Two Hearts Beat as One' comics are drawn with a Gaomon tablet. (Gaomon is a brand)
Good question! Hope you have a wonderful day! 💜

Moses
Artist: Valentin de Boulogne (French, 1591–1632)
Date: c. 1625–1627
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, NY, United States
Description
Moses holds a rod and the tablets with the Ten Commandments. (The Hebrew has been copied imperfectly: Was the text provided by Angelo Giori, a learned patron of Valentin whose portrait is in another gallery?) This is not the fierce, vigorous prophet sculpted by Michelangelo but an aged figure - we seem to recognize the model - absorbed in thought. The picture was meant to appeal to antiquarian interests, for Moses is classically garbed and over his blue toga he wears a Roman cloak, or paludamentum, decorated with a Greek meander pattern. In 1637, the picture was sold in Venice by the painter Nicolas Régnier - painters also acted as dealers - to James, third Marquis Hamilton; it then entered the Habsburg collections in Vienna.

keeping objects as pets #5: smartphones and kin!
hi there! in this series, i’ll be going over basic descriptions of commonly-kept object species (and some rare ones too!), facts about them, why you might want one as a pet, their basic needs and necessities provided you want to house one, and things you should NEVER do. for the fifth post in this series, we’ll be going over smartphones and their closely related family!
note that while i primarily use the term smartphone in this post, it also applies to devices such as tablets.
description
smartphones, as the name implies, are typically square or rectangular and have quite flat bodies. they have thin, segmented, insectoid limbs, sharp teeth for cracking through exoskeletons, and no fur anywhere on their bodies. their hands have three fingers each, one acting as a "thumb", and have two toes per foot. these fingers are quite dexterous and adept at grabbing and holding onto their main source of food: insects. their 'screens' are made of a compound similar yet distinct from glass that is soft when they're first born and gradually hardens over the first few weeks of their lives. while normally able to protect their delicate organs from the elements, these 'screens' are very prone to becoming cracked and even shattered over time.
the backlighting on their screens may seem to come from LED lights, but it's actually a very bright form of bioluminescence that stems from chemical reactions in their bodies. if damaged, the structures that produce these chemicals will not grow back.
facts about smartphones
smartphones are a very social object species that tend to be more common near human settlements. they communicate primarily via pheromones that are impossible to sense to humans, but also have a wide language of clicks, chirps and other sounds to "speak" with each other through. unlike most objects, smartphones tend to gather around groups of unrelated object species - it's rare to see a group of smartphones together that aren't a family. they separate quite young from their family groups, at only around four weeks, but it is absolutely crucial that these objects are properly socialized. this is usually the case in the wild, but it can be hard to tell in shelters.
despite both mimicking human telecommunication devices, these objects are not closely related to flip phone objects. this is a case of convergent evolution.
why as a pet?
smartphones are very intelligent; in fact, most specialists will tell you that they're smarter than dogs. while i believe this is true to an extent, they are still animals and you shouldn't expect them to be all-knowing. that said, smartphones are very easy to train, and they are very compatible with most every other object type. these little guys love attention* and will stay by your side almost all the time. they're friendly, cute, and have lots of personality! they tend to be playful, curious animals. however, due to their diet, you may do better with a non-insectivorous species if you have a fear of insects.
basic needs + do's and dont's
these objects are insectivores: they need a steady supply of insects, specifically mealworms, to stay healthy. feeding larger things such as crickets, roaches and hornworms is okay for treats. i highly recommend using supplements to make sure their dietary needs are met. as "digital" objects, you may expect these to need recharging; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLUG ANYTHING INTO THEM. these are PURELY BIOLOGICAL CREATURES.
*it's important to note that these objects, while being naturally social and friendly, are prone to overstimulation. they have a bodily response that causes them to faint from extreme stress and must be handled appropriately to avoid overstimulating them. DO NOT USE THIS AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT INTERACT WITH YOUR PET. THESE ARE SOCIAL ANIMALS AND REQUIRE AT LEAST THREE HOURS OF INTERACTION PER DAY.
housing
due to their fragile anatomy, these objects MUST be kept indoors at all times. you should make it a priority to avoid letting your smartphone climb as even a short fall can cause shattered screens, especially in younger ones. also, because of their body shape, they can be prone to getting stuck in cracks and crevices, so you should minimize the amount of spaces where this can happen. i recommend having a dedicated area for their living space and allowing them supervised free roam time every day.
that’s all! hopefully this helps educate anyone who is considering this species!

Rachel Jamison: We have a new way to donate at Protect a Volunteer! Do you have a laptop, phone, tablet, or gaming system that you want to give to Ukraine? You can do that! Email [email protected] with what you have. DO NOT contact me; trust me you don't want me answering your tech questions. We have a volunteer based in the USA who is refurbishing laptops and other tech and sending them to Ukraine. Tell him what you have and he can help you sort out if it's helpful. The first batch of 30+ laptops just arrived thanks to couriers with @/BlueYellowUKR. This is JK who is using his donated laptop to train soldiers on proper EOD removal. We have HUGE demand for laptops.

The upcoming Trump Tariffs could provide an unintentional temporary boost to the economy – which will end on January 20th.
People who don't wish to pay 10% to 25% more for various goods when Trump takes office are advised to buy them sooner rather than later.
Already, Trump announced he will slap a new 25% across-the-board tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada as well as an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports the very day he’s inaugurated. And on the campaign trail, he pledged to levy a 60% tariff on all goods imported from China and a 10% to 20% tariff on goods coming from all other nations. Such tariffs have the potential to significantly increase the prices consumers pay on nearly everything that isn’t made entirely in the US, of which there are very few goods.
Tariffs are paid by those who import the goods – NOT by the exporting countries. Many idiots just don't get that.
Tariffs are a tax on imports. Governments often impose them to protect national security, bolster domestic businesses and raise revenue. But they can be expensive for consumers, as businesses often pass along higher costs. In total, the typical middle-income US household could be stuck shelling out more than $2,600 extra a year if a blanket 20% tariff on all imports and a 60% tariff on imports from China are imposed, according to research from the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
Yep, tariffs are a TAX. The money goes to the government. Perhaps Trump thinks that he can tax consumers more to pay for more tax breaks for the pathologically rich like Elon Putz.
These are the five categories of items which CNN says would be good to buy now rather than after Trump returns. See the linked article above for details
Major household appliances
Laptops and tablets
Smartphones
Video game consoles
E-bikes
Another category would be imported foods. But their perishability would put a limit on how much you will save. Some items with naturally longer shelf-lives might be worth buying soon. Many teas come from China; my Bigelow Oolong tea, for example, has an expiration date of May 2027. I might as well buy a few more boxes of tea in coming weeks.
When you talk about tariffs, never forget to remind people who is responsible for them. Always call them Trump Tariffs.

Forgot to share this yesterday!
Hey my fellow Americans, remember Net Neutrality? (Remember the douche with the comically oversized 'reese's pieces' coffee mug, Ajit Pai?) Quick rehash: Pai repealed it, and lacking Net Neutrality means Big Tech/Phone companies can hinder, slow, or block access to any sites they want for any reason (perhaps some of you recall Verizon throttling service of firefighters out west *while they were battling wildfires* - or how ads now just say internet speeds may decrease during peak hours? Net Neutrality makes it so that can't happen)
Well now that the aforementioned douche is not there, the FCC is considering restoring it! This is *huge*, and there's an easy way to submit comments to both the FCC *and* your members of Congress, below.
It's a pre-made form letter; all you have to do is enter your info (though I recommend adding something to the letter, just to prove to the recipients that they're not getting bot comments. Even just adding your name and saying "I agree with the comments below" or something is fine)
An action we can all take, that just takes a few moments (just be sure to uncheck the boxes at the bottom if you don't want to be added to email lists)
Link to send comments to FCC:

Part Seven of my Bookmark Collection. This is a bit shorter than some of others, but that's because I didn't want to have to address some of my later bookmarks just yet. So i'm preparing my eighth post of this nature for release soon too. It'll be a bit longer than this one, since there's more for me to talk about there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For now though, I want to at least have some text on the bottom here (so i can easily copy the tags for this post and reuse them later). So i'm just gonna list the core fandoms here: Comics (both DC and Marvel), Hetalia (never watched it, still had a phase where i liked it), Harry Potter, Pokemon, and probably a few others.

I actually super appreciate all the art related tutorial things you've been posting lately but I do have one question: Any tips for improving lineart? I swear I can never get my lines to be where I'd like them to.
there's a couple things that could impact your lineart! i'm assuming this is more a pen issue rather than an issue with drawing technique, so do correct me if i misinterpreted!
first, check the stabilizer on your brush. this is a screenshot from Clip Studio, it may look different or be in a different spot in other programs. the stabilizer smoothens out your lines while you draw and how high it is can impact how clean / jittery your lines look.
Tumblr media
if that isn't the culprit, check your pen settings [for Clip this is under File > Pen Pressure Settings]. Again, it'll be different for other art programs.
Tumblr media
alternatively, check what mode your pen's operating on; Wintab or Tablet PC. [File > Preferences > Tablet]. Sometimes the pen can be funky if it's on one setting or the other. Switch between the two, see if it makes any difference. My tablet is a Huion Kamvas Studio 22 and wants to works best with Wintab.
Tumblr media
lastly - check your tablet calibration and the pen itself. Most tablets have a way to calibrate them if you go into the application for it on your PC.
I accidentally worked with a broken pen for four years and didn't know until mine spontaneously gave up the ghost a month ago, so don't rule out the fact that the pen itself could be a culprit. Replacing a pen can be expensive though, so check everything else first before you go making purchases.
Hope your lines improve!! ;w;
