It's been a few days of Slayer.

Fuck this guy.

I think it took everyone (myself included) a few days to realize the bullshit you can get away with with him but like.

Here's a character with very very little movement! But we gave him a 14f forward lunging punch that covers most of the screen and will usually trade positively. Also he can break the wall on counter-hit with said punch at a little closer than MIDSCREEN.

Oops! Did you end up in the corner because you were forced to respect the moves that WILL lead to a 200 HP punish if you get smacked with one, or you got smacked and he got full screen carry? Fuck you! You will have to fight with everything you have just to GET OUT, and if you fuck up ONCE you are going through the wall and losing 200hp. Don't try to jump either, It's Late has a hitbox that reaches into the stratosphere and leaves him about +100 on air block.

What's that? He has 50 meter? you lose. you just fucking lose. the Mappas that are supposed to end pressure? RC them. Did he hit you with a Mappa? RC that shit for a guaranteed wallbreak, and potentially a Pilebunker loop. Did you get him blocking? YELLOW ROMAN CANCEL ITS HIS TURN NOW AND HES +10. (I have general problems with YRC, but Slayer really highlights them for me) I'd be fine with the meter thing if he didn't build meter so fast, but FUCK ME it's like he has a generator hidden in his coat or something that increases the bar when you aren't looking.

Full screen whiff punish that leaves you point blank at advantage. Fuck. You. Also it has a sweet spot, which is hard to consistently route into and feels a LOT like just a random "oh shit I won the round on that wakeup super lol"

Last Horizon is kinda cool, but it exaggerates the problem of "oops I got touched oh shit I'm dead" because you can get it off of ANY FUCKING NON-P NORMAL.

Its so weird that he's like this, though. I put in like 100 hours on XRD Slayer, and Strive feels extremely similar. What HAPPENED? XRD Slayer didn't do this! He didn't shut everything down! He ran some nasty fucking mix, sure, but he had very defined weaknesses. And sure, XRD Slayer gets preposterous damage with meter on stray hits, I'm not going to argue that, but it really didn't seem to happen as much as it used to.

I think the biggest problem, really, is Pilebunker. Pilebunker was never really a combo tool in XRD, unless you had meter or got very specific hits. But now? You can confirm that shit off of anything! Like, literally almost any hit!

Masters. Fucking. Hammer. +26 on block. Safe on whiff. Hitbox like a Behemoth typhoon. Ambiguous cross-up. I don't even care that it has a long startup, GOOD LUCK ACTUALLY SMACKING SLAYER OUT OF THE AIR! HES IN THE FUCKING STRATOSPHERE!

To be a little calmer, I feel Slayer's biggest problem is that he forces the opponent to take huge risks for little reward, while himself not being at a lot of risk for high reward. If he were to stay in his current state, with all the damage and everything the same, I think that every tool in his arsenal should be unsafe on block. That's probably very harsh, but something needs to be done. At the VERY LEAST make all of his moves borderline unsafe, like -4 -5 or something idfk man he's ridiculous

It sucks. I was so so excited for him, so excited to get to do cool stuff with him, and the stuff he does is cool! But he's just, so, so strong. So fucking strong. I said a few days ago that he was "lower-mid top tier," but I was just clearly not thinking straight. Slayer is potentially the strongest character in the game. Sure, whatever, he has lackluster defense, but good luck actually getting him in the corner, WHERE HE CAN STILL GET A STRAY HIT FOR AT LEAST 150DMG AND ADVANTAGE.

AITA for abandoning my people and joining the enemy?

I (16F) grew up in the military. My people were forced to live underground after losing a war a century ago. Life underground was difficult, but we made the best of it, preparing for a day when we may be able to take revenge on our enemies and reclaim our place on the surface.

Two years ago, some of our elite soldiers invaded the enemy territory and stole an important power source. It was necessary as we were beginning to run out of power sources of our own, and if we didn’t have power our homes would collapse. Two of our enemies (C, 128M and 3, 14F at the time) entered our territory to retrieve the power source. We managed to apprehend C, but 3 managed to find both him and our leader with radio assistance from two of her allies, 1 and 2 (both 17F). I witnessed the battle between 3 and our leader, during which 1 and 2 hijacked our leader’s audio system and played an… incredible song.

I cannot begin to explain how life changing this music was. It was so different from the music I had grown up with, and yet something about it seemed to pull at… well, my very soul. Suddenly everything that was once so important seemed insignificant. Revenge didn’t matter anymore. Only one thing mattered, and that was reaching the surface. I know I wasn’t the only one affected, as many of my friends began deserting one by one, never to be seen again. I tried to stay loyal for as long as I could, but eventually I couldn’t resist any longer, and I deserted my people too.

Unfortunately, I became lost on the surface, and ran into C and 3. They understandably believed me to be hostile and attacked, but something happened which I don’t quite remember and I woke up in an underground testing facility without my memories. C was there too, and we called a truce as we searched for 3 and a way back to the surface. We were also contacted by two women (P, 21F and M, 18F) who had found 3’s communicator and wanted to help us.

During our time in the facility, I slowly became friends with C, P and M. M was a deserter just like me, so she understood better than anyone. As I regained my memories, all three of them showed me more kindness than I perhaps deserve. We eventually found 3 and managed to leave the facility, and I am now living in the same city as them. They are all dear friends of mine, yet I cannot help but think of the friends I left behind. I’m sure that some of them never left the underground, and they must be suffering. But the thought of returning to my former life fills me with dread. I can’t bring myself to do it.

My friends (both my old friends who moved to the city, and my new friends) assure me that I am doing nothing wrong by choosing to stay here. But I can’t help but feel guilt for leaving my leader and my people.

AITA for ignoring my family and (probably) making them worry about me?

I (17m) have several cousins, s (14f), g (15nb, he/him), l (13f), and p (23f). The last time I saw any of them was maybe 7 years ago, at my mom’s funeral. (Said funeral also spiraled my dad (47m) into depression.)

Almost every day I get a text from them or their parents, especially from s. She and I were the closest, since we both lived near each other before I moved, and from the fact that we basically grew up together.

The problem is that I can’t talk to them. Any of them. My godfather (48m) and an online friend of mine (18m) have tried convincing me that I should talk to them, and I know I really should, but even opening up one of their profiles on a messaging app makes me feel like spiraling.

What if they don’t like me anymore? What if they’ve changed? What if I don’t live up to their expectations? What if they��ve replaced me with someone else, someone who’s agreeable and open and honest?

Guilt eats me up, and I just close the app. I miss them all so much, but at the same time, I’m scared. I feel like it’s better this way. That’s why I’ve done this almost every day for the last 7 years.

Ok I know that sounds bad!! But just listen! This is gonna be a long one since it's hard to explain So I (14f) really do not like this kid(13f), who is one of my classmates and I will call her G. I also have a friend group with R(14f), L(14f), and T(f). I guess we'd be the "popular girls," but tbf the school is pretty small anyway. See, the school we go to- or I should say went to- was erm well, cheap. Very cheap. Also mainly made out of wood (of course some parts were made with metal and other materials). So I mean it was bound to break eventually, right? Haha, anyway. So yeah I hate G, she thinks shes something she isnt (I will not expand on that). Also she's weirddd. Like really weird. Like, once I just saw her staring at the grass during recess watching bugs, that kind of weird. Oh! And she was mean to my friends and me! So we kinda wanted to get back at her for that. And one day ONE OF MY FRIENDS came up with the plan to freak her out by taking some lighters to school and after school ended we'd corner her and shove the lighters in her face. I thought that was a really mean plan, but I went along with it anyway because they were my friends. See, I didnt have anything to do with coming up with the plan! It's not my fault, I couldnt just not go along with it because they're my friends! And also their parents would be really mad at me if I didnt listen to them But anyway in the afternoon a couple hours before school ended, some random 3rd grader pushed me and my lighter fell out of my pocket and accidentally ignited! And I just happened to be standing near a bush, which was right next to the long wooden fence that encircled the school. So the bush caught on fire, and then the fence, and it quickly got out of control. I didnt mean for it to happen! At all! Totally! It's not my fault! If anything it's that stupid 3rd grader's for pushing me, or even G's fault for having the need for this plan in the first place Anyway the fire alarm went off and the staff started evacuating everyone, but in L's rush to get out of the building, she accidentally bumped into G, who fell near the fire. G then started screaming at us for "being so inconsiderate" (what a brat!). Then all 4 of us (me, L, R, and G (T was sick btw and couldnt come that day)) got trapped in a circle of fire near the lockers, because apparently someone had left a bunch of flammable things randomly. in a circle. G tried to bite me (ew) so obviously I pushed her back and I may have accidentally hit her too hard because there was a loud thunk as she slammed against the lockers but its not my fault she tried to bite me!! (Also she was claiming it was self defense but like ??) L, R, and I helped each other get out of the circle before the fire got too big and ran away before we could find out what happened to G Several hours later and the whole school is burned down (we're in the process of finding a new school) and also found out some other weirdo from a different classroom helped G escape

Anyway, am i the asshole for being forced to follow my friend's plan to try to scare a kid and then accidentally setting the whole school on fire and almost killing that kid? (I didnt mean to!!!!🥺)

Tanigucchy attended the exhibition which ran from October 1st, 2022 through November 13th, 2022 and spotted a Tamagotchi display! The display includes a Japanese Tamagotchi history display graphic, and some noteworthy Tamagotchi models in and outside of their packaging.

These models include the Tamagotchi P1, Plus, Famitama, iDL, P’s, 4U, and the M!X! No word on why newer models weren’t featured such as the Meets and Smart.

AITA for wanting to validate my father’s research?

I (14f) recently set out on my own for the first time. I didn’t want to do so, but I was effectively forced. You see: my dad was mysteriously transformed into some kind of terrifying monster, and I was determined to find a cure. I decided I’d become a wizard every bit as powerful as he was— eventually working my way up to a spell that would fix him, and hopefully being able to help other people along the way as I honed my skills.

Initially, I was accompanied by just P and B (Both 20sf F). They had their own goals, but were okay with forming an adventuring party. And we got along pretty well. But eventually, our little team grew, and that’s where the problems arose.

E, N, RD and R (All 20s M) are the four who joined us. And initially, they seemed nice. Maybe a little slow (the first two came from some kind of hippie commune?), but generally agreeable. Our first bit of strife came when I made a realization about my dad.

…You see, I was studying from his spellbook, and as I deciphered more spells, I realized he was some kind of necromancer. This frightened me at first, but then I remembered before his transformation my father was a very, very kind man. I knew he would never use that magic for evil, and that he had to have some kind of good intent.

I decided to start studying necromancy myself— to confirm my hypothesis. But to actually perform any necromancy, I’d need a body, and so I asked R (generally one of the tougher members of the party) for some help.

He helped me dig up a grave and retrieve a body. I felt a little bad about doing it, but decided it was for a good cause. You see: I was hoping to find a way to make zombies remember who they were: reattain sentience. And so although my methods were dubious, ultimately I was trying to do something that was best for my new zombie and his family.

No-one was a fan of this decision, least of all E and N. Apparently, their hippie religion was very against this.

But I insisted it was okay. I knew what I was doing, and so we continued onward.

Occasionally, they’d make jeering remarks towards me, but I tried not to let it get to me. Despite our ideological differences, I tried my best to work well with them, and I did, for a few more adventures.

But then in the midst of another adventure, I was stolen from by kobolds. They took my zombie away from me, bringing him to their underground lair in hopes of luring me there.

Apparently, they wanted a favor from us. But the party weren’t necessarily ecstatic about it. Eventually, this boiled over into a fight. P (Not me. P.) fired the first shot.

This fight went poorly. There was a cave-in, and in that cave-in, N died. E, especially was heartbroken. I sympathized with his grief— at least… until he turned it around on me.

E accused me of having caused this. He said it was all my fault. Even though P initiated the combat, not me, he was convinced that the real reason N died was that their god was punishing the party for my ‘sins.’ Instead of looking towards who was logically responsible (P or, YOU KNOW, THE KOBOLDS), he pointed fingers at me: saying I was an evil, selfish, irrational person, and that we wouldn’t have been in the caves if not for my ‘stupid zombie.’

And even worse… half the party took his side! Both RD and P sided with him, saying this was my fault. This was especially insulting coming from P, who I feel was just trying to deflect the blame.

Soon after, the party split, but apparently they haven’t ceased holding a grudge against me. Most recently, they told local authorities about me and tried to have me apprehended (and potentially executed), not because they were worried about anyone being in danger, but solely out of SPITE.

AITA? I don’t think I am, but they were so INSISTENT, and so I’d like to get an unbiased opinion. What do you think?
