“Stop it, Gavi. I don’t want to talk to you anymore!” you yell, reaching to grab your purse, but Gavi gets in front of you, raising his hands as if to calm you down. 

“Baby, c’mon, I didn’t do anything! She’s just a fan, all she asked for was a hug, nothing more.” Gavi explains, eyebrows scrunched together as you cross your arms.

“Oh yeah? And she also asked for you to give her your number?” you scoff, shaking your head. “Save me the excuses, Gavi. I saw that, so you’re not fooling anyone.” 

You turn around to leave, but your boyfriend captures your wrist, stopping you from leaving. 

“That’s not what it seems, I swear.” 

“I know what I saw, Gavi. Let me go!” you harshly pull your wrist, but Gavi is stronger than you, holding you tight. 

“You have to listen to me! It wasn’t my number, it was Ansu’s cause he liked her.”

“Don’t lie to me! I don’t want to hear it!” 

Both of you pull and tug at your wrist, Gavi’s grip on you getting uncomfortably tighter as you attempt to get away from him. Both of you argue back and forth and Gavi finally snaps, twisting your hand so hard that you cry out in pain. 

“Baby, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!” Gavi immediately releases your hand and you pull it against your chest, feeling the limb sore from the harsh tugs you’ve been subjected to.

You raise your eyes to Gavi as he stares at you in complete shock. 

“I’m so so sorry, it was a mistake. I didn’t mean to hurt you, I swear!” he starts apologizing, hesitating in touching you, a remorseful expression painting his face.  

“I know…But you still did it.” you say, wincing as you hand throbs in pain. 

He slowly nods, taking a step back, sucking in a deep breath. 

“You’re right and I’m so sorry for that. I’m a jerk for hurting and I never would intentionally hurt you, I love you too much for that.” he declares, pointing towards your hand. “Can I have a look at that, at least? I just wanna make sure it’s not too serious.”

You slowly nod, and Gavi immediately rushes to your side, hand connecting with yours. 

His fingers rub against the skin, his brown eyes analyzing your wrist before he presses a kiss to it. 

“I don’t think it’s too bad, but we can still go see a doctor.” he says, locking his eyes with you and you realize how much he’s regretting his actions. “I’m genuinely sorry, Y/N. Please say you forgive me.”

“I forgive you, you idiot.” you softly whisper, burying your head in Gavi’s chest. He wraps his arms around you, pressing several kisses to the top of your head. 

“I’m so sorry.” he repeats and you smile to yourself, knowing that he means it.

gonna babble about this again in case it ends up helping other artists who've also been struggling w/ procreate, but i am imploring people to give artstudio pro a chance (free limited demo; option to sub for $7/yr or get a lifetime license for $30)

no disrespect to procreate esp given its impact in making art more accessible to so many folks -- but i am beeeggging people to try artstudio pro. i cannot overstate how much more enjoyable it's been to draw on the ipad on asp vs procreate. the brush engine feels significantly more intuitive and reminds me of csp's.

i get more mileage/variation in every brush stroke. i turned into brushes georg downloading every procreate brush i could find - thinking maybe i was doing something wrong/maybe i just needed to find the right brush - but that didn't happen w/ asp. i'm not fighting for my life to get the pressure sens and stabilization just right. there are unlimited layers and i dont see the distortion and pixelization you get in procreate when you resize/rotate a selection. painting's also been smoother?

idk! if procreate works great for you, then i'm happy to hear it. i wish it clicked w/ me as well. buuut if you find yourself struggling w/ it, don't do what i did by trying to force yourself to like it. it being a popular app =/= best for everyone. asp's ui isn't as simple/pick-up-and-go as procreate's, but its utility makes for a great tradeoff.

below are screenshots from asp (L) and procreate (R) w/ a fave brush - asp's engine just feels way more forgiving/organic. not as heavy-handed, like i'm not fighting with a computer to figure out every stroke.

using this app's been a relief as someone who's felt like a bad artist b/c i couldn't adapt to procreate as expected 🖍👶💢 lmao

Describe your OC - Anaya Jefferson (Infamous)

For my @infamous-if OC, Lia Rose (her stage name)

🎶 - How do they sound? Describe their voice.

I'm strictly going to go for her singing voice (she is in a music band universe after all lol) and Kelela is closest to what I imagine for her.

👀 - How do they look like? Give an overall description of them

I made them in this picrew until I figure out a face claim. She's dyed her hair green since she was 13, has seven piercings - got her ears first pierced as a baby & got the rest of them between 14-16 (Seven went with her for her eyebrow at 16 and held her hand throughout). She's got deep brown skin, the biggest brown eyes to lose yourself in, big lips, is 5'7" tall, and usually wears her hair in braids, flat twists, a top bun, or a flat twist out (her natural hair is about mid back length). Besides Seven's initials on her right wrist, she has a butterfly tattoo on her right upper arm, the name of the first song she wrote (find the light) underneath the left side of her ribs, and a big bouquet of flowers on her left upper thigh. She definitely plans to get more, just hadn't decided on what else she wants yet.

💐 - Their favorite plant/flower

Her favorite flowers are coneflowers, zinnias, and peonies.

👗- Describe their style

Very boho for the most part. Flowy tops, crop tops, maxi skirts and dresses, wide leg pants, sweaters, sundresses, leggings, scarf wraps. She lives for cute comfort.

💌 - How would they react to a love letter?

Flattered and she'd cherish it. She's kept the handful she's received from people.

🤦‍♀️ - Something that continues to embarrass them to this day

When she first dyed her hair, she tried to do it alone and ended up not getting the color all over. Her parents decided to let her live with her patchy multi-toned hair but a friend's mom ended up helping her try to fix it. That led to her first set of braids to hide the issue. Whenever someone remembers her terrible first dye job, it still makes her embarrassed.

😊 - Something that always makes them smile

When she's writing songs and the words flow freely, when butterflies are all over the garden she has at home, first spoon of ice cream on a warm day, when her flat twist out turns out just right

💢 - How do they handle being annoyed?

Anaya usually lets most things slide but when she can't, she has to walk away and be alone. She might go outside and just walk for a bit or she'll go meditate for a bit. She knows annoyance can quickly escalate to anger for her so she tries to remove herself from the situation in order to prevent that.

🐕 - Favorite animal?

Lemurs & otters (thanks to nature shows growing up), rabbits, and cats

🥘 - Favorite food?

Grilled citrus salmon, oxtail with rice and peas, roasted sweet potatoes, red velvet cake, mint chocolate chip ice cream

🍸- Favorite drink?

Mango smoothies, honey citrus mint tea, pineapple serrano margaritas

🌹 - Do they have a signature scent? Perfume, shampoo or alike?

This is the closest I can think of for her signature scent as far as perfume. Her shampoo would smell like white pepper lavender or tobacco vanilla. Anaya's favorite scents can lean spicy or fresh/clean/herbaceous or a little woody.

🎳 - Do they have hobbies? If yes, what are they?

Painting, swimming, writing poetry, cycling, playing piano, writing songs, gardening, axe throwing

👤 - Do they enjoy being alone, or do they thrive around people better?

Anaya definitely thrives around people. Growing up like she did, her parents barely paid attention or were always absent, it affected her a lot so now she doesn't really like being on her own too much.

🍁 - Their favorite season and why?

Summer! Anaya's always loved being outside in the warmth and sunshine, getting to hang and practice with friends uninterrupted, and writing at night beneath a clear starry sky.

as for me, mine are writing, reading and song writing

since writing is one of my hobbies, i will write a story, news article (💀?) or something that gets me writing. you could basically say thats scripting. another example is song writing. Back in like 2020, i made this really cringey(i still cringe about it lord 🚶) song about shifting because im shifting; i may make another post about it 🤭💞

When the names of Olympians and Cthonics are whispered among mortals, it is never done without awe, never spoken about without at least an inkling of fear.

Among the endlessly changing realm of worldly beings some may sing praises for the holy golden palace of Zeus, or recoil in fear at Hade’s trenches, where the good go for rebirthing and the sinful go to rot.

Some may have heard of the lovely Persephone’s garden, boundless with ripened fruit and blossoms in abundant glory across green fields of crops, life laying just beyond the creeping vines of the Underworld’s seeping darkness.

However, these are not places you’ve been acquainted with.

Somewhere beyond that fertile land, there is a cold, solitary mountain embedded between eternal night and day.

Among the boundary of the living and the deceased, there is a reigning world in which an everlasting twilight meets the dying breath of a raging snowstorm. Beyond the cliff lies a vast sea, stretching beyond the naked eye and further still. It swallows the horizon with lulls of ebbing tides, rippling gleams of yellow, orange, and red painting the snowy landscape a deceivingly warm shade of pink.

It is here that time lies nearly stagnant, wedged between the frozen pines, shadows falling stiflingly still.

It is here that you’ve made your home for the time being, whether it be a day, an hour, or a few seconds; peering out over the stirring sea.

Coming upon you, Zagreus recognizes your situation immediately.

Although your body held the iridescent glow of a shade, you retained the shape of what was once your mortal shell.

Just like these mountains, you were a product of time at a standstill. Not quite alive, not quite dead, not quite in purgatory, though some may consider it so.

You hear his footsteps crunching in the soft snow long before he stops behind you.

“Zagreus.” You greet, but do not look to him. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

He pauses, though the rushing sound of the water easily fills that silence.

How did you know him? Well, he supposed that was a silly question. Nearly all the shades in the Underworld understood the identities and purposes of the Cthonics, demigod or not, because of trepidation, because of veneration, because of pious upbringings.

“I may ask the same. What business does a wayward traveler such as yourself have, settling so close to the mouth of the Underworld?”

After his mother had returned to the House of Hades, his many trips to the surface had been mostly to tend to her garden.

Although the task had become ritual to him, he hadn’t ever the chance to garner company, especially company as peculiar as yourself.

Your eyes do not stray from the push and pull of the waters far below, trails of spiraling seafoam hypnotic.

“I have lost much, Zagreus, but I have not lost hope.”

Though it is hardly the time to laugh, he finds himself chuckling anyways. “How very morbid of you.”

Turning away from the scene, you meet his eyes for the first time. True to word of legends, the beauty of both gods and demigods are unparalleled, but you dare not reveal this.

Godlings, with the empathy of the mundane and the instincts of the divine, need no such verbal cues.

And surely, Zagreus does not need words to understand.

He thinks to himself, on this peculiar day, shrouded by a light flurry, perhaps his mother’s garden can wait a bit longer. Perhaps the pain in his body will slow on this infernal mountain, and perhaps the River Styx will claim him later rather than sooner.

He ventures to ask, “May I take a seat?”
