Still working on ideas I put on my list a year ago.
I imagine arcanine was Hoffman's original partner pokemon in the police force that had to watch his heart turn cold, but still remained ever-loyal.
(Maybe Team Jigsaw test people, but in less deadly ways, lmao?)
I also always love giving everyone tiny baby pokemon to care for. Perez has a plusle.

I noticed that Matt and Beth tend to (whether willingly or accidentally) create really well earned happy endings for their characters whereas Freddie and Will are really good at ending their characters on bittersweet, or even just straight up tragic notes in a way that feels incredibly fitting. If I had to put it succinctly I guess it'd be:
Matt and Beth's PCs and kin: The narrative feels inevitable but is excapable. You're out and you can heal.
Will's PCs and kin: The narrative is escapable, but not without changing you on a fundimental level. The choices you've made while escaping the narrative haunt you for life.
Freddie's PCs and kin: The narrative feels inevitable and is escapable, but it would require an incredible amount of introspection that this character simply isn't capable of.

I wanted to share my experience with my beit din and mikvah. I believe that soon-to-be converts deserve to be prepared for what their experience could be like, and I hope this might help ease the inevitable mikvah anxiety you'll start getting
So, for reference, I converted conservative and with a recognized, reputable program that is unnamed for privacy reasons. I got all of my required education for all of this, along with a sponsoring rabbi with whom I have a very close relationship with.
I'll put a read more, but this is divided into four bigq blocks: preparation, the morning of, the beit din, and the mikvah.
I also want to clarify that this post is not an invitation to question the validity or "realness" of someone's jewishness. I share my experience to prepare other people, not affirm or prove my jewishness.
Preparation Work
I had my hebrew name picked essentially three weeks before my beit din, so I just submitted my chosen name and I didn't worry about that at all on the day of my B"D. I also had a questionnaire to fill out asking practical questions about my jewish journey. This questionnaire was filled with a lot of personal details, and it asked about how I observe holidays, engage in my community, and make shabbos holy. I was asked there for my name, and I wrote an entire essay about how I was led to judaism. There were no trick questions, and because I am a very active participant in my community, I was able to give a ton of details and examples about how I am living a jewish life. All of the rabbis on my beit din received an exact copy of this questionnaire, so they were able to read about me from my own words weeks in advance.
The morning of
The morning of my beit din, I took a very thorough shower. You are not permitted to wear lotions or perfumes, so I only shampooed and lathered soap on my body. If you have wavy or curly hair, it is hell on earth. I think I have wavier hair than I thought I did - my hair was so unpleasant and frizzy, and I've never had these issues. Just be aware that this might be a thing for you - it's okay to feel uncomfortable.
I decided to fast after this for spiritual and practical reasons, and if that's your thing and you're safe to do so, I recommend it. I took a lot of meaning out of doing this, especially because I had to drive a hundred-odd miles to get to my mikvah.
The Beit Din
The beit din itself was pretty short, and it definitely wasn't a test of knowledge for me. The rabbis on my beit din were familiar with a ton of my story and the practical ways I have become a jew, so many of the things they asked about were practical. I was given a ton of floor time to spend speaking about my thoughts, so they definitely got a good idea of what kind of person I am.
They asked primarily about how and why I came to judaism, my relationship with g-d, how I engage with the jewish people, and about any holidays I have struggled with.
My primary advice here, therefore, is to engage thoughtfully and fully with your jewish community. Having a history of that was essential for me - and one of the parting things the rabbis agreed with was just how integrated I am with my community, and how it can be a struggle to get other people to do that when they want to convert. Community, community, community, here.
After this, I recognized and affirmed my commitment to the jewish people (I'm pretty sure this is called kabbalat ol ha’mitzvot) by reading each of the thirteen commitments I am making by becoming jewish. Obviously, I agreed with all of them, I just had to verbally recognize my commitment. Judaism is a people who make sure you truly understand and consent to anything you do. It might seem like a whole lot of repetition, but that's the point.
The Mikvah
So my mikvah was at a facility - you don't have to have a mikvah like mine. There are a few options for you, so this definitely differs between convert.
I had a preparation room to myself - and it had everything. I undressed, removed all my non-permanent body jewelry, and then put on my robe.
Now, if you're also trans, you'll definitely have to talk about your options, but I had a ton of luck. The mikvah I went to had railing that I could drape my robe and towel over to preserve my modesty. I also have a male rabbi that I trust completely with my being trans. He was the only one who could directly witness the immersion with his eyes. The other rabbis listened behind a cracked door and affirmed that they could aurally hear my conversion. You might have something like that for you, but many, many rabbis will want to help preserve the convert's modesty and dignity. Trans or not, there is a lot of flexibility here
I did a couple practice dunks to get used to the mikvah waters. It's not as deep as I thought (I'm 170cm), so I kind of had to go in the fetal position. I also have a lot of nerves around full immersion, but it wasn't bad. The water was very warm, and it felt very inviting and clean.
My rabbi had me repeat the blessing for immersing, to which I then dunked. Once I rose up, I said shehecheyanu, dunked again, and I said Shema and dunked one more time. My rabbi left before me, and then I gathered up everything, wrapped in my robe, and left (yes, I wiped up all the water I dripped all over the floor, don't worry. That feels like a courtesy I encourage people to keep in mind).
I dressed in my room, and once I left, I was surrounded by everyone. I received my certificate of acceptance to am yisrael with my hebrew name I chose. After, I was blessed by all the rabbis and we sang.
One thing I encourage people to consider is writing a card for your rabbi or anyone else who helped you. I wrote a card for my rabbi and the executive director who was there for me the entire time to facilitate all of this, and it was very cathartic to get my thankfulness down permanently. But that's essentially all there is left to say - it was a very quick process, all things considered. And it was very inviting. Trust that you have the knowledge and passion to get through this. Rabbis typically schedule your B"D when they can tell you're ready. Being able to trust them and you helps this process go so much smoother 💛

the mighty nein will always be that bitch (a party with a consistent (and coherent) moral stance, who even if they dismiss alternative perspectives take seriously what others have to say, and who are met with and accept the consequences of choices (good and bad) they decide upon with their eyes wide open)

I can’t stop thinking about how Trapp is playing Hunch.
Like his client asks him to find someone and he does. Job over. But instead of questioning Conrad, or trying to break down the mystery of it all, he’s more concerned with how everyone’s treating him. So, he gets in a fight with the owner of a speakeasy, tries to stop known mobsters, stands up to a literal murderer, all because he sees a kid and knows he can’t possibly deserve the treatment he’s getting. He isn’t getting paid to care about Conrad, or even really Imelda. And yet when they to go to the memory bank, Hunch immediately acts as a distraction, so Imelda can get what they need without anyone else getting hurt. Technically, their business is done, but he still makes himself the target rather than playing the part of the detective he is and potentially putting her in danger.
Curiosity doesn’t need to be kind, but he is. He’s kind because sometimes, being curious about other people, means trusting them before you have the proof that it’s the right choice.

I was sooo heavily tempted to base my version of the nun's habit on my favorite fictional nun outfit design... Buut I didn't want to feel like I'm ripping off of it, and I can always just draw Michaela cosplaying as a Trinity Blood nun for fun.

Sometimes I wake up and remember that canon Arthur Aguefort, the guy we've seen on screen for years, the guy from the timeline we follow who was busy with the quangle during junior year, that Arthur Aguefort and some alternate Lapin Cadbury canonically fuck nasty. Sometimes I wake up.

CoGSaver
Hello! ( ̄ω ̄)/ Do you play lots of Choice of Games IFs? Do you find yourself constantly frustrated with their lack of save system? Well allow me to give you a [Hopefully simple though probably redundant] guide on how to save your games! For the record there are other ways I just don’t know/use them this way works for me.
So I made a post of this before kinda, it was as a response to an ask for @barbwritesstuff [Fantastic creator btw I highly recommend giving them a follow.] BUT I didn’t like how messy it was since I tried to do it quickly, there was also a typo & honestly, it bugged me to no end. (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
Now that that’s taken care of onward! For this guide I’m going to use @barbwritesstuff game Blood Moon again because well I’m already set up for that. Before we begin, we need two things the program and our games “Code” [Technically it’s called Game ID but Code is quicker].
I use a program called CoGSaver which can be found with a fairly easy guide on its use here. [Hence the redundant part but hey always nice to have multiple guides and I included pics (・ω<)☆]
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2718610599
[I find this program to be safe but please always use caution when downloading things from the internet.]
Next the Code, to find it we’ll need to go Right click our games desktop icon and select “Properties”. You should see it immediately.
Tumblr media
Now once you’re playing your game and come to a point you want to save open CoGsaver and click “Select Game”
Tumblr media
Next we’re going to navigate to our game data, remember that Code? Each steam game has one and they will be listed as their Codes so that’s how we’ll find it.
Tumblr media
Now just select the “storePS<gamename In this case Blood Moon>PSstate”
Tumblr media
Congratulations! ♪♪♪ ヽ(ˇ∀ˇ )ゞ You have now made your game accessible to be saved! From here just Click “Create Save” to save and “Load Game” to load simple right? Well just forewarning when you want to load your game, you’ll need to close out your game and reopen it to load up your save point. Is it a bit tedious? Yes, but there you go now you can save your game, Happy playing!

pivoting a little off of that Neve post to say real quick that if you haven't played the Templar route of DAI i highly recommend it. Some highlights:
Calpernia vs Leliana > Samson vs Cullen. Samson, as an antagonist, honestly feels pulled out of thin air, and having an extremely weird rivalry between him and Cullen shines a spotlight on the very strange role Cullen plays in DAI and makes the player wonder why they aren't switched. Calpernia, on the other hand, is a nuanced and complex character with somewhat sympathetic motivations, and watching Leliana get to put her spymaster skills to use to find out more about her is a lot more satisfying imo. Additionally, Samson's maguffin of his Red Lyrium armor being weakened for the unavoidable fight pales in comparison to convincing Calpernia to stand down by telling her the truth about how Corypheus is using her.
DAI's infamous issue with Corypheus's lack of presence in the story? Somewhat alleviated in this route. It's still not great, but we actively see him manipulate Calpernia, multiple times iirc, and at one point we hear his thoughts throughout one of the dungeons. I sincerely believe the reasons Corypheus gained such a reputation for being absent in the story are because most players have only played the mage route
Everything involving Therinfal Redoubt. The Envy demon, the mind prison, Cole's introduction (a far improvement over his intro in the mage route), the slow and natural revelation of the Venatori's ultimate goals (as a opposed to "i accidentally got chucked into the future but some time goo and here's everything i was able to learn for the whole Hour I was there"), Ser Barris my beloved <3
Depending on how you play it obviously, but there's an argument to be made that dissolving the Templars may do more good and result in more lasting change than freeing the Circles, seeing as the idea of the circles, as an academic space for mages to learn to control their powers, was never really the issue and oppression and abuse of the Templars is the true root of the problem. YMMV here though
As mentioned in a previous point, no time magic! this streamlines a lot of the storytelling imo, and makes for an INCREDIBLY CRUNCHY introduction to Dorian, who shows up at Haven and, since he's allowed to talk like a normal person and not a Spirit of Compassion, brings a very intense energy to the scene. Imo this works best if this is your very first time meeting him, as in you never went to Redcliffe and never had to deal with the Headache that is Alexius, the character assassination of Fiona, and the illogic inherent to Time Magic
The Templar route is just better integrated into the rest of the story. Cassandra's personal quest where they mention the Lord Seeker's been replaced by a demon? That no longer feels like it came out of left field, we literally saw that and so this quest feels like payoff. Leliana gets more time to shine doing Spymaster Things so her personal quest about being More Than A Tool feels more impactful. The Inquisition being an organization that scares the Chantry makes more sense because we stole the Chantry's army. The Red Templars no longer feel like a "bad thing made worse for some reason" and instead feel like sad endings for good (or well, i should say "good") people, who could've found a better way with the Inquisition and instead chose to be This. Emprise Du Lion and the Emerald Graves are now completely skippable areas, aside from whatever sidequests you'd like to do there.
Unfortunately, the greatest barrier to entry is justifying the In-Character reasons for your Inquisitor to get help from the Fucking Templars, which is. not ideal. BUT if you can do that, I really truly believe it's the superior route

my biggest issue with the whole ghoulified warden is not even attachment to the warden as a character, its that it would make for ONCE AGAIN another dropped storyline because its like ok so you put the warden in the back burner bc they were looking for a cure, and even tho there's a lot of stuff that could have possibily cured the warden/slowed the progression of the taint, you went with no actually they found nothing despite searching for it for god knows how many years...
i think as a concept is really interesting and could go many places, but im glad it stayed that. a concept. if it had made it, im pretty sure it would not have been as good (bombastic side eyes dai hawke and dav inky)
