I saw a couple people saying that maybe Eugenia Shadow was part of Arthur Aguefort's original adventuring party, and that got me thinking about the possibility of the OG staff of the Adventuring Academy all being made up of his party members, who worked together to take down Kalvaxus

Like, maybe they were short-staffed in the beginning because they were just starting out, so Arthur originally pulled double duty as the wizarding professor and the principal. Maybe he had a huge, thirteen-person party, or there were just a bunch of multiclassers that were teaching two---or even three---classes at once.

arthur making gilear the vice principal is so funny but all jokes aside, it's the perfect job for gilear. the position was created for kalvaxus so arthur has limited it so much. it has no responsibility, it has no powers, all you have to do is show up and let arthur dunk on you. that's in the job description. gilear's main skills include being dunked on and hanging out with his daughter, the only two things he can do at aguefort. he starts fucking up the moment he gets a task but this job was designed to illicit no tasks of importance whatsoever

I will say, we joke a lot about how Arthur Aguefort’s favorite adventuring party is clearly The Seven and how for all Kipperlilly complains that Arthur likes the Bad Kids more, they’re the ones Arthur REALLY gives special treatment, but I do wonder how much of that is guilt that he knew Kalvaxus was likely behind their kidnappings and that he basically let it happen so that Kalvaxus could be released and then defeated.

Arthur helping them stay together was basically him trying to make up for the fact that they became a party solely BECAUSE of the trauma and pain he let those teenage girls go through as a means to an end.

Like he went to the bad kids "yeah take the gold, bye bye need you to find the crown, see you soon, you can take people with you but pay them" and then went to the Rat Grinders like "here take him with you, I don't need him but you do" and handed them Jace like you would hand a kitten by the neck skin?

the idea that, using CHRONOMANCY, arthur aguefort prerecorded a whole stadium full of illusory arthur agueforts with chest paint for the bad kids AND a congratulatory post-hoc message for being the first students to beat the last stand is so so deeply funny. bad kids break a record from the dawn of time and he’s not even going to put his vacation on hold to be around for it. world’s most principal of all time

unbelievably funny that when the seven hit their junior year (after, like, a hell of a lot of shenanigans to all remain in school together despite being different ages) arthur aguefort was like "oh you guys want to stick together? yeah i'll tell you about the mystical ged and stop time to take you to my super secret library and yes i'm going to be weird and cryptic about it all because i'm arthur aguefort, like, duh, but i am still ultimately helping you and i think you're soooo cool i'm so proud of you all [sheds a tear]". and with the bad kids he's like "yeah yeah i know you 'saved the world' but you need to get your grades up or i'll expel you. lol."
