guys!!!! i forgot it was march 10 earlier today!!! happy birthday to my noodle son, I adopted him two years ago to the day and he was hatched in 2019 so as far as i'm concerned my baby boy is six!!!! years old! :)

#kirby#daily kirby#my art#digital#hal laboratory#nintendo#waddle dee#(sort of)#one of my christmas presents was my wife's old desktop computer that she'd beefed up for video games#a while ago granted but still#so I did some more work on getting it set up today and then spent 5 hours playing house flipper :)#big kid computer means I can actually play pc games again#beyond full perfecting cook serve delicious on low graphics lol#also I knew my brother had given me a yakuza game a while ago that I hadn't opened because I was still on my laptop#but it turns out he gave me two yakuza games#so once I get the controller set up I can play yakuza 2 also!#I really enjoyed yakuza 1 except for a couple bs sections in the story and the very very last side mission.#(having a more powerful computer also means once I get the peripherals squared away I can start video captioning)#(and maybe hopefully stream occasionally)#(I really wanna stream my partner playing ace attorney because I want to have his reactions on record for myself lol)#(he loves puzzles and he grew up in the moon logic video game days and he has some background in criminology)#(so either he'll get super into it or he'll absolutely hate it I think lol)#(I've done a very good job of not spoiling anything)#(I know the court segments well but I might keep a guide on the side for the investigation segments)#(I never had that much trouble with them tho cuz I tend to be thorough and methodical)

had to get off twitter bc of the amount of hate being directed towards the bad kids AND the cast was driving me insane so i’m posting on here.
i will say that i have developed sympathy for the rat grinders and i hate how they are being manipulated. it’s gross to groom kids the way jace and/but especially porter has.
HOWEVER, i fully defend the bad kids. they are acting how traumatized kids would react to being put into another life and death situation. i get that they were impulsive and that they could spend actions trying to turn trg but that would just waste time bc there is no guarantee that it’ll work.

Speaking of alternate history, I've been reading GURPS: Infinite Worlds again (a really really great book if you're interested on alternate history) and it's so obvious the authors are some kind of libertarians
The collection of alternate worlds are so interesting but what's funny is that even if you have fantasy worlds with Atlantis and shit, the dinosaur people world, the alchemy worlds (yes, I did get some inspiration from that), among the other alternate history classics like the Axis victory world and such... but then the communist parallel worlds all classified as Lenin-1, Lenin-2, Lenin-3 and so are all grim places in decline and one is straight up a hell world where the biosphere is collapsing. I think they outright state that there's no worlds where communism worked like it's a fact of nature and the reader is just supposed to accept it. It's hilarious when you think about it.
#cosas mias#there's also like a lot of British worlds too#GURPS is interesting because the political inclinations of the authors (again I think libertarian something)#are very visible through lore and mechanics#for example the governments of places are not classified by say politics or ideology but by 'Control Rating'#which is in theory what the PCs can and cannot do but you read it and it sounds like something a libertarian would write

I continue to be astounded that Alan Wake 2 exists in the form it does.
A direct continuation of the original games story, a mind bending survival horror style. New characters seamlessly interacting with the old. Two distinct but intertwining storylines. Flawless integration into the expanding Remedy game universe. Even an entire album's worth of original music, all bops.
It's truly astounding that Remedy pulled off such a triumph, but it's a massive testament to their talents. I can't wait for Lake House next month.
