I reblog some stuff and manually post some others, but the majority of my posts are generated through php pages I run from the command line on my Windows machine using the Oath protocol and Tumbr's API. My foobar musicplayer is connected to the last FM scrobbler, and I access their API, get my feed, and alter it with my saved commentary and images, then automatically post it to tumblr. I'm also hooked up to Spotify (and they use curl not Oauth) so I can post music links as well. For a while I was doing YouTube videos as well, but pulled it down, as I need to increase the accuracy of their search.

90% of the code I wrote myself, though I'll admit I don't really understand the actual OAuth transfer that well, those sections are straight copied and pasted :-)

Sequentielle Suche mit FileMaker und PHP

Manchmal sind es nicht die großen Frameworks oder hochkomplexen API-Integrationen, die den Unterschied machen, sondern ein bewusst einfacher, robuster Ansatz, der sich nahtlos in vorhandene Workflows integriert. Genau das war der Ausgangspunkt für eine kleine aber wirkungsvolle Lösung, die FileMaker mit einem PHP-basierten Webinterface verbindet – mit dem Ziel, eine sequentielle Suche über eine größere Datenmenge performant und flexibel umzusetzen. Das derzeitige Problem beim Kunden, vor Jahren habe ich eine Sequentielle Suche nativ in FileMaker umgesetzt. Die übliche Vorgehensweise, ein Script sucht bei jedem Tastenanschlag, genutzt werden alle Felder die in der Schnellsuche eingeschlossen sind. Über die Jahre wuchs der Datenbestand, es wurden Felder innerhalb von Ausschnitten erfasst. Es musste so kommen, der Kunde konnte die Suche kaum mehr nutzen, tippen, warten, tippen. Sehr unschön und langsam. Dann kam mir im Zuge einer Listenansicht, in die ich eine Suche integriert habe, die Idee. FileMaker überträgt per -Aus URL einfügen- Tabellendaten an ein PHP-Script. Im WebViewer wird dann die Tabelle angezeigt, nebst einem Suchfeld. Also frisch ans Werk gemacht und schnell festgestellt, die Felder in Variablen zu verpacken, macht in der Menge keinen Spaß. Also das ganze per Schleife, Feldnamen holen, die Werte dazu sammeln. In Schleife, ist das gut machbar, aber trotzdem ein nicht unerheblicher Zeitaufwand. Dann eine Eingebung, exportiere die Tabelle und verarbeite die Daten direkt auf dem Server per PHP. Vorgehen: FileMaker exportiert eine strukturierte Datenmenge als CSV – diese Datei wird im Hintergrund automatisch an ein kleines PHP-Script übermittelt. Dort wird sie interpretiert, analysiert und in einer visuellen Oberfläche dargestellt, über die eine freie Volltextsuche möglich ist. Der Clou: Mit jedem Tastendruck wird die Ergebnisliste dynamisch reduziert – und bei Bedarf lassen sich über die Enter-Taste direkt Projektnummern an ein FileMaker-Script zurückgeben, das dann wiederum die interne Detailansicht aktualisiert. Ganz ohne Datenbankabfragen im Webserver, ganz ohne MySQL, Redis oder externe Services. Die PHP-Logik bleibt dabei angenehm überschaubar. Ein Beispiel für das Parsen und Darstellen der Daten sieht so aus:

In der Darstellung im WebViewer werden alle Datensätze tabellarisch angezeigt. Der Clou kommt mit JavaScript: Dort wird bei jeder Eingabe automatisch geprüft, welche Zeilen noch zum aktuellen Suchbegriff passen. Zusätzlich hebt ein kleiner Style-Block die passenden Zellen farblich hervor, um die Treffer visuell zu unterstützen. Und weil alles clientseitig passiert, bleibt es schnell – auch bei mehreren tausend Einträgen. Besonders elegant wirkt die Integration in FileMaker: Die Projektnummern der sichtbaren Zeilen werden bei einem Enter-Klick gesammelt und per fmp://-URL an ein FileMaker-Script übergeben. Diese Direktverbindung ermöglicht, das Webinterface wie eine native Erweiterung der Datenbank zu nutzen – ohne Performanceverlust, ohne Redundanz, ohne Hürden.

Nach dem Klick, startet das FM-Script. Wir holen uns die ID,s nach üblicher Vorgangsweise und suchen in Schleife alle ID,s zusammen. In dem Zug, wird natürlich auch das Suchfenster in FileMaker geschlossen. Diese Form der sequentiellen Suche hat sich im Test als stabil und pflegeleicht erwiesen – gerade in Szenarien, in denen FileMaker allein bei umfangreichen Datensätzen an die Grenzen kommt, etwa bei mehrdimensionalen Suchen über unstrukturierte Felder oder bei extern generierten Listen. Und auch wenn es kein High-End-AI-Suchcluster ist: Die Lösung hat Charme. Weil sie genau das tut, was sie soll. Weil sie den Workflow nicht verbiegt, sondern erweitert. Und weil sie etwas bietet, das man oft zu selten hat: unmittelbare Rückmeldung und Kontrolle über den gesamten Prozess. Jetzt wird nur noch ein wenig mit CSS das ganze verschönt, dann kann der Kunde damit arbeiten.

Executive Summary

The client, who is a healthcare systems provider, wanted to build an application which would enable patients to set up video conferencing appointments with physicians/system users. The need was to allow a user to send an invite for a video conference to others and all those who accepted the invite to be able to meet up in a group video conferencing setup. The idea was to eliminate locational constraints to the extent possible in communication. We enabled the video-logs feature to allow storing of data for future references if needed. The client wanted to optimize the application performance and reduce the network bandwidth usage. The development team at Mindfire implemented peer connectivity and performed several load time optimizations to achieve it.

Instalar un servidor Lighttpd en CentOS 7. Lighttpd es un servidor web de código abierto, especialmente diseñado para operar en entornos críticos a una alta velocidad. A pesar de su extrema optimización, cumple el estándar de ser seguro y flexible. Un servidor Lighttpd de alta velocidad, ofrece una mejoría de rendimiento considerable (con el mismo hardware), en comparación con otros servidores web. Es compatible con las interfaces FastCGI, SCGI y CGI, por tanto es capaz de ejecutar aplicaciones web escritas en cualquier lenguaje de programación. Destacamos que el FastCGI de Lighttpd, se puede configurar para que admita PHP con caché de códigos operacionales, también recibe soporte por parte de las comunidades de Perl, Python y Ruby. Antes de comenzar el articulo, debo indicarte, que no existen paneles de control web (100% compatibles), que manejen este tipo de servidores. El trabajo debe ser manual.

Como es habitual lo primero que haremos es actualizar nuestro sistema. yum update Habilitamos el repositorio Epel, y actualizamos de nuevo. yum -y install epel-release yum -y update No es necesario que reinicies el sistema, directamente vamos a instalar lighttpd. yum install lighttpd Iniciamos y habilitamos el servicio. systemctl start lighttpd systemctl enable lighttpd Ahora puedes verificar el servicio. systemctl status lighttpd Obtendrás un resultado similar a este... ● lighttpd.service - Lightning Fast Webserver With Light System Requirements             Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/lighttpd.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)             Active: active (running) since Tue 2019-09-02 12:52:11 CDT; 2s  Main PID: 11445 (lighttpd)             CGroup: /system.slice/lighttpd.service            └─11445 /usr/sbin/lighttpd -D -f /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf Si no se ejecuta correctamente, editamos el archivo de configuración y anulamos la IPv6. nano /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf En la linea "server.use-ipv6", sustituyes enable por disable. Disappeared for a Month, then spent Two Days Posting Blank Band Images when I got back

Sorry about both. What happened is about a year ago, I had hosting with Hostgator, and they had a PHP server with the Oauth module I need to make these automatic posts, the ones for the last song reflected in the Last FM scrobbler, and the ones that posted an image of the band behind the song.

Then they told me my rates would triple, so I looked around and found Bluehost, who could do the same stuff for me for $10.00 more a month. OK, fine. Beats three times as much and I had grown attached to these little posts and to being active here on Tumblr.

So I switched my sites to them. I had to compile the Oauth module myself on their PHP backend, but hey, knowledge gained, right? Then, four or so months in, Bluehost doubled my rates without even telling me. Put up with it for a while, for too long really, then without remembering that it was the rate hike at Hostgator that got me to leave *them* in the first place, I went back to the Gator Place on their cheapest plan. I fixed the mySQL stuff on my baseball card site, then set to redoing the Tumblr posters . . . and realized, oh yeah, that's why I left 'em in the first place.
