The story of Phupha (KITTIKUN TANSUHAS aka KUN) and Nanfah (WATTIKORN PERMSUBHIRUN aka KIAK) began with two short mini series in AUGUST 2022 (PHUPHA) and NOVEMBER 2022 (NANFAH)

I adored both mini series immensely so after the 2nd mini (NANFAH) a series was announced to tell their entire story.

The mini series were directed by SITTICHAI CHUTSIRI aka CHOI and he's known to be a director of commercials but he also directed short BL 21 DAYS THEORY for Rookie Thailand.

After several false starts for the series to premiere it finally did on WeTV on March 1, 2023 with a re airing on the DEVONTE296 OFFICIAL YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

The Series had so many changes from the mini series it sadly was a bit of let down...just a bit because I was rooting for Phu and Nan. The Series also had a different director than the mini series KONGKIAT KHOMSIRI aka KHOM.

Khom is a screenwriter and director of a slew of series and movies. Most notably to BL fans, he directed KINNPORSCHE.

The screenwriter of The Promise was THANYATHORN SIWANUKROH aka FUNT or FUNTLAND. I'm not certain but I don't think she wrote the mini series. No writers were credited for PHUPHA | NANFAH that I'm aware of. And on FUNT'S MDL page she isn't credited for either mini series. Though she has an impressive list of screenwriter credits.

Now the gifs I made are from what is referred to as a special workshop episode and is under 7 minutes

Nan and Phu are a happy couple and Nan asks Phu when he knew he was in love with him. Phu answers but ask Nan if he recalls the kiss they shared the night before their graduation (Nan was drunk...this was in the series but not the minis) Nan says he has no recollection because while inebriated his memory is wiped clean.

There was a special episode called PROMISE: THE HONEYMOON which required payment which I did not do since I was disappointed with the series.

A season 2 is planned but no release date.

THE PROMISE:

The series that was spawn from two mini series in 2022 (PHUPHA) and (NANFAH) and based on a true story. Starring KITTIKUN TANSUHAS aka KUN and WATTIKORN PERMSUBHIRUN aka KIAK. While the series received criticism for its slow storytelling is said to have been given a season 2 as the story isn't over. Both main leads will return.

The Series I've been waiting for is here. The premiere was today (March 1, 2023)

A bit different to the two mini series that preceded it I am still hopeful.

The Promise tells the story of two best friends since childhood Phupha aka Phu (KITTIKUN TANSUHAS aka KUN) & Nanfah aka Nan (WATTIKORN PERMSUBHIRUN aka KIAK)

Phu fell madly in love with Nan but couldn't tell him.

Here (not in the mini series) Nan says he knows Phu loves him and he loves him too. Then Nan kisses Phu. But...Nan is drunk.

It looks like the series is taking a deviation from the mini series...but I'm still intrigued...for now

NANFAH: THE MINI SERIES (2022, THAILAND)

Finally convinced to tell Nanfah about his love for him by Dina. Phupha (KITTIKUN TANSUHAS aka KUN) witnesses Nanfah with GiGi and assumes the worse.

Returning to the apartment he shares with Nanfah, their landlady tries to give Phupha the flowers he ordered to give to Nanfah but a crushed Phupha tells her he no longer needs them and to throw them out for him.

He then leaves a note for Nanfah and vanishes..

THE PROMISE (2023, THAILAND)

Phu's (KITTIKUN TANSUHAS aka KUN) devotion to Nan (WATTIKORN PERMSUBHIRUN aka KIAK) during childhood. Continued all the way up to university until Phu (ready to reveal his feelings) saw Nan with Gigi and assumed the worse. Devastated he left a note claiming to be going to Melbourne, Australia to be with his mother (in the mini series)

However in the series. Phu and Nan got drunk. And Nan kissed Phu full on the lips and suddenly Phu decided to flee.

Here Nan is grateful to Phu's highlighting skills as it helped Nan with the test. Nan even thinks Phu got a look at the test beforehand. Phu calls Nan in close to reveal the truth.

"The teacher told us what would be on the test while you were sleep, idiot. 😂😂😂

My Most Anticipated BL of 2023. Now as a BL Fan (I Might Even Say Super Fan) I look forward to all releases. However This BL started Last Year as 2 mini series. And is Based on a True Story. It is called THE PROMISE

The series is a story of two childhood best friends PHUPHA & NANFAH that a promise to always stick together. Phupha, however fell madly in love with Nanfah but was unable to tell him. After a debacle with Nan trying to set Phu up with Deena (who had a secret crush on Phu) Phu decided to reveal his feelings for Nan (thanks to Deena's advice) so on the last day of university Phu asked Nan to come straight home as he had something to tell him. (They were roommates) Phu later saw Nan with his friends and a female freshman Gigi (who had a crush on Nan) and was hurt and left claiming to be joining his mother in Melbourne Australia by a note.

Time jump: Phu has been gone for 10 years with Nan searching for him.

So the 2 mini series had a different director, but the series is being directed by KONGKIAT KHOMSIRI [Nickname: KHOM] who is responsible most notably for KINNPORSCHE but he has a lot of other shows he directed as well as movies and he's a screenwriter.

This mini series has told the side of Phupha aka Phu (KITTIKUN TANSUHAS aka KUN) how his love for best friend Nanfah (WATTIKORN PERMSUBHIRUN aka KIAK) was secret but saw Nanfah try to set Phu up with female student Deena. And as she convinced Phu to reveal his feelings for Nan but seeing Nan on the last day with freshman female student a heartbroken Phu left for parts unknown.

Well on November 15, 2022 Nanfah's side is set to air. As Nan missing Phu sets out to find him. This is the last episode of this 2 part mini series. Will Nan find Phu? Will he reciprocate his friends feelings?
