Sparrow is very skilled with guns but prefers knives for a more stealthy approach.
(If anyone’s curious the gun she uses is a Smith & Wesson model 19, 3 inch barrel and pachmayr grips, chambered in .357 magnum)

The Old Colt Trooper
The serial number tells me that my Colt Trooper left the factory in 1954.  When I got it, the grips were from the 1960’s, with gold medallions – so I didn’t see anything wrong with taking them off and replacing them with a set of Pachmayr grips.  A lot of parts get changed on Colt revolvers – and the value is no different with my chosen grips than someone else’s replacements.  It probably looked…

Laser Products Corporation brought the first one to market in 1979 and it came bundled with a .357 Magnum Colt Trooper. Called the LPC Model 7, the revolver was included because the massive helium-neon gas laser sight's equally large battery was custom built into the gun's extended Pachmayr grip. Because of this integration you couldn't even use the sight with your own gun if you wanted to. Source

Kimber Mountain Ascent Skips The Weight
Envision a standard jolt activity rifle with .30 bore weighing under 6 pounds! It was exceedingly far-fetched to envision conveying such a firearm except if Kimber Mountain Ascent occurred. The out of the crate stock will without a doubt grab your eye. Generally surveys talk about the highlights that a firearm has. Barely will you run over a survey where one concentrations upon what the firearm needs. In any case, when you are examining Kimber Mountain Ascent rifles you just can't get over the way that how the brand figures out how to jettison the weight to turn into the lightest major game rifle at any point created. There are different models accessible under it.
Short the weight
It is great how Kimber has figured out how to shed off all the additional weight while producing a rifle. In this way, these gadgets are incredibly useful pieces as opposed to being extravagant ones. These are both manufactured and impeccable jolt rifles that are accessible essential in two models - 84M and 84L. The 84M is chambered inside the.308 Winchester. These firearms have 22 inch barrel and weigh around 4 pounds and 13 ounces. Then again, the 84L has a 24 inch barrel. This model is accessible in 3 unique gauges - .270 Winchester, .280 Ackley and . optics for 308 bolt action rifle It gauges 5 pounds and 5 ounces.
The instrument
These rifles are jolt activity, controlled round feed and focus shoot rehashing gadgets. Kimber is realized worldwide to deliver such guns. They are produced from tempered steel. The component incorporates a hook extractor, locking drags just as 3 position wellbeing. All these guarantee that you fire the round effectively and after that remove, discharge the case effectively. The jolt body is secured by a winding fluting. The handle is fluted and empty. To the extent the hook extractor is concerned, it is light in weight as well. There are 3 cuts along the length. The metalwork shows the Kimpro II waterproofing coat. The barrels stuffed with these weapons are thin and are produced from treated steel also.
What about the trigger?
As the Kimber fans will know, the trigger is coordinate evaluation just as single stage. In spite of the fact that it is flexible most clients don't mess with it as it is industrial facility set with 3½ to 4 pound force weight. The chamber also is coordinate evaluation. Column and glass is installed for the activity with the goal that it guarantees precision.
Tumblr media
As expressed before, the stock is an out of the crate one. It is very like a carbon fiber. Same kind of stock is accessible on Kimbers different models including Talkeetna and Montana. The stocks are totally American in style. The main contrast from the other two models is that this rifle in secured with Optifade advanced camo style that is an uncommon open nation design. The Pachmayr Decelerator cushion estimates 1 inch and is very useful in evacuating any extra impact of the force.

Diamond dimensions 223
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Checkering patterns are inclined to be both fairly extensive in coverage and fancy in execution. Weatherby Deluxe rifles have a maplewood diamond inlay in the rosewood pistol grip cap. (Models with dull synthetic stocks are also available.) Forearm and pistol grip caps of darker contrasting woods, sometimes set off by lighter line spacers, are common decorative touches. These stocks usually come with a durable high gloss finish that shows off the grain of the select walnut to beautiful advantage. Rifles with California style stocks are seldom supplied with iron sights, so the stock is designed expressly for the higher line of sight of an optical sight. Many of them have been incorporated, at least to some extent, in most other modern stock designs. All of these are functional features, particularly for the powerful magnum rifles in which Weatherby specializes. Mark V rifles also have a generous butt pad area and come with a top quality Pachmayr recoil pad. Key features of a Weatherby stock include the signature Monte Carlo comb that slants down toward the front (to align the eye with a telescopic sight and keep the comb away from the cheek bone during recoil), a cheek-piece and a small amount of cast off (a bend of the buttstock away from the face to make the rifle faster and more comfortable to mount and also to help align the eye with the scope), a forearm tapered in three dimensions with a flat bottom (to provide a good grip and a shape amenable for use over a rest), and a pistol grip with a slight flare at the bottom (to aid in good control and to prevent the hand from slipping during recoil). Roy Weatherby spawned the California school of stock design (the Weatherby Company is headquartered in California), which is epitomized by his Mark V Deluxe rifle. Aesthetic merit is always a difficult question to resolve. And, of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naturally, there are variations on and combinations of these basic styles, but the rifle models in parenthesis are reasonable examples of the three main styles.Īll of these styles can be attractive if properly executed, and all can be functional. 1A) and Western (Browning 1885 High Wall, Winchester Model 94 Traditional) styles, which are functional and seem appropriate to their purpose.īolt action stocks tend toward one of three styles, which I call the European (Steyr-Mannlicher Classic, CZ 550 Lux), Modern Classic (Winchester Model 70 Featherweight, Remington Model 700 BDL, and Ruger Model 77R Mark II), and California (Weatherby Mark V Deluxe). Lever action and single shot rifles tend towards what I call the Classical (Ruger No. Most of the controversy swirls around the stocks of bolt action rifles. There are several schools of thought as to material, decoration, finish, and most of all the shape of rifle stocks. Rifle stock design is a controversial subject, and the source of much disagreement among gun buffs. Many more custom rifle stocks are built every year for US shooters than custom shotgun stocks, even though shotgun stocks are far more critical to hitting the target. It is interesting that in the United States rifle stock design has received more attention than shotgun stock design.

Ithaca model 37 featherlight value

#ITHACA MODEL 37 FEATHERLIGHT VALUE SERIAL NUMBER#
#ITHACA MODEL 37 FEATHERLIGHT VALUE FULL#
#ITHACA MODEL 37 FEATHERLIGHT VALUE CRACK#
Though the gun is no museum showpiece, the memories it carries are worth the gun’s weight in gold. The butt pad is a simple polymer plate – no rubber recoil pad here.
#ITHACA MODEL 37 FEATHERLIGHT VALUE FULL#
There’s a fixed full choke, brass front bead, and bird-scene engraving on the receiver. With uncheckered hardwood stocks, a plain barrel, and blued finish, that pump action was destined for both work and enjoyment. The gun he chose from the rack of his local shop was a standard 12-gauge Ithaca Gun Company Model 37. He saved his graduation money and purchased the Model 37 before finishing high school. He has been a hunter since an early age, and when he bought his Ithaca new 60 years ago, little did he know the stories it could tell today. Their farmland covers some of the state’s most desirable pheasant hunting habitat, a fact not lost on LaVern. Please see our pictures and good luck! Ithaca 37 Featherlight D.S.At almost 78 years old, LaVern is the patriarch of South Dakota’s Koupal Angus ranching family. This is also a nice example of one of the more desirable Featherlight models, great to add to an Ithaca collection. It is fast-handling and will combine with the 37’s notably smooth action and ability to slam-fire to make it a great gun for each of these purposes. It would also make a good gun for hunting with slugs or buckshot. The 37 was produced in a number of configurations, and this is one of the more popular for both law enforcement and home defense. Our Assessment: This is an Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight D.S. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards. The shotgun ejects out the bottom of the receiver. Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Overall, this shotgun is in about Fine condition. There are a few scattered minor nicks and scuffs. Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good condition.īore Condition: The bore is bright. The LOP measures 14 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad, 13 1/4″ to the back of the wood.
#ITHACA MODEL 37 FEATHERLIGHT VALUE CRACK#
There is a crack at the front of the wrist on the bottom-left and another on the top-right. The stocks have a few scattered minor marks and a couple of more notable scratches at the toe. Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece walnut with grooved slide handle, pistol grip, straight comb, basketweave textured black rubber Pachmayr Presentation buttpad and a sling stud in the belly (the other is mounted to the bottom of the barrel’s magazine lug). The rear sight is a “V”-notch leaf and elevator sight dovetailed to a base fixed to the rear of the barrel. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a pink fiber-optic blade in a serrated, ramped base screwed to the front of the barrel.
#ITHACA MODEL 37 FEATHERLIGHT VALUE SERIAL NUMBER#
The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and an anvil proof. The right side of the barrel is marked with an anvil proof. MADE IN USA – ROTO FORGED”, with an anvil. – 2 3/4 CHAMBER – PROOF TESTED / ITHACA GUN CO., INC. POLICE SPECIAL / MODEL 37 – FEATHERLIGHT – 12 GA.
