Lahore, 12 October 2024:
“I want to improve every hospital in Punjab,” said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif while inaugurating a new emergency block at Indus Hospital in Jubilee Town. She added,”We will improve healthcare system by using the system and experiences of Indus Hospital.” She sought a comprehensive plan to improve government hospitals with the collaboration of industrial trusts. She agreed to take joint measures for the heart surgery of young children, and noted,”We will collaborate with Indus Hospital for heart and bone marrow transplant.”
Madam Chief Minister visited various departments of the Hospital and inspected resuscitation, paeds, CT scan, nursing station, information desk and family medicine centers. She spoke to the children under treatment in the emergency ward, expressed compassion and prayed for their speedy recovery. She interacted with other under-treatment patients, their attendants and doctors to inquire them about various treatment facilities available there. She also observed the treatment procedure and paperless dashboard system of Indus Hospital.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,”We are working day in and day out with the intention of service and the fear of God.” She added,”A chair is a burden of responsibilities, a good decision can improve millions of lives.” She highlighted,”Air Ambulance Service is achieving significant success in saving precious human lives every day.”
Madam Chief Minister said,”Patients come from all over Pakistan for treatment in Punjab.” She underscored,”Up to 90% free medicines are being provided in hospitals of Punjab.”
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took notice of non-action by the police officers concerned on a woman's complaint against the police officials on duty in Indus Hospital. She summoned the DIG Investigation on the spot, directed him to resolve the complaint immediately and submit a report. She also directed the authorities concerned to ensure the construction of ramps in buildings to facilitate special persons.
Earlier Madam Chief Minister was briefed in detail about the Indus Hospital. She was also apprised,”07 million patients have benefited from free and quality treatment under Recep Tayyip Erdogan Trust.”
Minister for Information & Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Health and other relevant officers accompanied Madam Chief Minister. Indus Regional Board Chairman Mian Muhammad Ahsan, Executive Directors Azizul Rehman, Ahsan Tariq, Manager Coordination Bilal Ahmed, Directors Javed Arshad Bhatti, SM Parvez, Hasan Qureshi, CEO Dr. Tasman and COO Dr. Shafiq were also present.

So someone was asking about some of the coping mechanisms I have manged to develop. I will admit this is probably going to be biased towards corporate jobs since I bounced around a lot as a teenager/in college before figuring out my shit.
So the most basic one is make sure you don’t hate your job/find it boring. This may mean doing something less traditional. In my case, this is one of the reasons I am an engineer, it allows me to have a job where I use my brain and am engaged at work.
It is important to use whatever coping mechanisms you already have developed (like medication).
Similarly, make sure you are not hungry/tiered/thirsty/cold or generally uncomfortable. I know for me all of that makes my ADHD worse.
Meal prep or anything that simplifies lunch is your friend (like sandwiches)
For arriving on time, try to have the time you leave by include a buffer. I aim to be at work 15 minutes early, and have some time to have breakfast/take a moment before starting work. (I never actually have 15 minutes)
I don’t do this personally, but I know someone who sets a series of alarms to get out of the door on time. So like, he has his alarm to wake up, but he also has one for stuff like getting dressed or getting out the door. (helps with time blindness)
Keep a list of tasks/asks. Any time I get asked to do something, I write it down on the legal pad I take to all meetings/is on me most of the time. (If you need something more viable, you can use sticky notes on your monitor/laptop, the important part is to give yourself something you can reference so you don’t have to actually remember anything)
relatedly, ask for clarification on asks if you did not write down details/are not sure of them.
Out of sight is out of mind. I keep my list on my desk, similarly I keep important stuff I need to remember out (this means anything from sticky note reminders, important samples to my fidget cube).
White boards are your friend. They can be used to track so many useful things.
Try to figure out what styles of organization work for you. Systems that are complicated with multiple steps are less likely to be followed. (Paperless systems help a lot, if only because you can usually search them)
Check you calendar first thing in the morning and before you leave work to see what meetings you have that day/if there are any meetings first thing in the morning. Also, just check you calendar when it occurs to you.
Try to get to meeting five minutes early, and either chat with people or like, check emails or whatever. Time blindness fucks with everything and it is easy to go to having a few minutes to being late or missing a meeting.
First thing in the morning go through emails to help with any backlogs.
Leave notification on
Try to address emails/messages/what have you when you see them, or if you don’t have the time mark them as unread.
Music and headphones are your friend. Music helps with focus, and generally blocking out noise helps with distraction. (As someone who can’t remember to charge headphones, I recommend noise isolating over noise canceling. (Noise isolating would be either headphones that fit over your ear, or ear buds).
Losing focus is not the end of the world, I find it more useful to focus on returning to the task I am working on.
If you cannot focuses on the task you are trying to do, do something else. It could be another task, checking on some system or just checking emails.
Similarly for tasks that you know are going to be hard to focus on, try to break them up if possible. (I have problems with focusing on data entry for too long, so when possible, I try to do things like input my data from the day in the evening, or otherwise spread it out over multiple days if possible).
If you are at a desk most of the time, find reasons to stretch your legs. Get coffee, go talk to a coworker about a thing, do a task that requires you to get up for a bit, whatever.
Breaks are important for everyone, but particularly if you have ADHD. If you are inclined to forget or hyper focus, set alarms.
Bring fidgets to meetings. When I was working in the manufacturing sector, I would use more subtle fidgets like bracelets. IDK if it switching to working in tech or covid, but these days I just use my fidget cubes.
If your workplace allows it, consider something like an exercise ball. I used one at my last job, and on a whole most people assumed I was doing it for my health/posture.
TLDR: Write down all asks and use fidgets.

When students/professors decide to start to work without using phisical paper, or they become “paperless”, it's hard to know where and how to start. Clearly, we will need a technological device, it could be a laptop or a desktop computer, a tablet or an iPad. Whatever device you already have and that you feel confortable using it. Most of the apps that we use are available for Windows, MacOS, IOS and Android, so there is no need to get a new expensive device if there is no need to. I personally use my Dell laptop from like 3 centuries ago (which thankfully still works) with Windows 10, and my handy little iPad pro 2018. Now, I will talk about the main apps I use on my devices and what I use them for.
Note taking apps.
Yep, students, professors (or literally everybody else) need to take notes. You can either type your notes or handwrite them (by using a tablet and a stylus). In my case, I take about 40% handwritten notes and 60% typed notes.
GoodNotes is the app I use for my hand written notes. Probably not the most convenient one for everyone (because it's only available for IOS and MacOS, plus it costs money to get it). However, I really enjoy using this app for my handwritten notes. The features in the app allows the user to have a great notetaking experience. I recommend this app, but I know there are a ton of other better/cheaper options out there.
For my typed notes I use Notion, Word and Google Docs. I love those apps (specially Notion) because they are free and avaliable in all operating systems! (Windows, Android, MacOS and IOS). I use Word and Google Docs for assignments I need to hand out, and I use Notion for all those discussion boards and class stuff that I want to organize in a single file. I'll talk more about Notion on future post and how much it helps my academic and personal life
Reading Apps
What's the second thing students do the most? Lots. Of. Reading. (especially if you're an English major like me). The two apps that I use the most for reading is Kindle and Acrobat (Adobe's PDF reader). I really like both apps and I use them pretty frequently. With Kindle you can buy ebooks from Amazon, and Acrobat let's you read and highlight any PDF document. Great reading apps that I totally recommend!

My brother got me a lil notepad that works kinda like an etch-a-sketch and I’ve been playing with it and it’s COOL
I drew this, which is an approximation of a photo of the night sky I took on Halloween

It’s sort of like working with scratch art! I even found that the eraser function can be used to reduce the intensity of what’s on the pad and was able to use that sort of like blending! It’s an interesting way to work and I really like it so far, it reminds me of my first drawing tablet

The One in Orange
You were used to being the new kid, with how often your father had to move around for jobs. South Park wasn’t really any different, except the girls pretty much kept you under lock and key. Something about knowing the rules, you really didn’t get it nor did you care. Opting to hang with Wendy most of the time anyway, at least she wasn’t all that weird. No, after about 4 months of being here the whole new kid thing just became a type of nickname.
You open your locker to gather materials for your next class, Eric behind you doing his normal “I’m an asshole” thing. A song you tuned out after your first week with how often it happened, along with the backlash from the Broflovski kid. Kyle was his name, right? He’s your neighbor, and you think you honestly should remember that. You close your locker and turn only to run into orange. A lot of orange. “Oof.” You rub your nose and look up to see just what it was you ran into, cursing slightly in your head at the fact it's human. “Sorry. Wasn’t paying attention.” you try to step around but a hand finds its way on your forearm.
“Are you alright?” the voice was a bit muffled but you got the jist of the question.
“Uh, yeah. Sorry again.” you repeat. The arm slowly lets go and you turn to head to class.
You take an empty seat by Wendy who was busy with some new thing she was trying to get people on board for. “Hey Wen?” She barely looks up from her work to give a hum of recognition. “Who is the orange parka wearing kid?”
Her hands stop as she takes a moment, “orange parka…” her face lights with recognition, “Oh, you mean Kenny. Kenny McCormick.”
“Who?” you ask just as the bell sounds. You start to get your desk set up as the teacher drones on about the week assignments.
Wendy taps your shoulder. “I’ll tell you more at lunch.” she whispers. This intrigues you. You honestly thought the conversation about the kid was over, to know he has some sort of story surprised you. The teacher continues, eventually asking for the homework. You let out a frustrated groan as you shuffle through your papers only to notice it missing. You guess you must have dropped it when you ran into orange parka kid, Kenny.
Kenny leans over and picks up the piece of paper. Reading the name at the top he chuckles, so the new kid dropped their homework. That meant she would come looking for it. Kenny neatly placed the paper in his bag and took out his spiral notebook. Ripping a clean page out he asked to borrow a pen from Stan and Scribbled a little note and slid it into the new kids locker. Now she’ll know where to find it and he had another reason to talk to her. His day just seemed to get a little better.
After explaining to the teacher that yes you did the homework and no you didn’t mean to drop it. You quickly run to your locker to look for the cursed thing. When the ground around where you ran into Kenny looked paperless, you hoped the boy just shoved it back in your locker for you to find. It completely pauses as he removes his hood and gives you the brightest smile you’ve ever seen. Reality comes crashing back as he waves a hand in your face. “Everything okay?” he gives you a smirk that sets your face on fire.
“My-My homework.” you manage to get out.
He pulls out the paper and yanks it back just as you go to reach for it. “Returners fee.”
“What?” you give him a confused and unamused look.

You give him a glare, regretting the romance movie scene just a few moments ago. “There is no such thing.” you dead pan.
His smirk grows into a smile. “There is. After all, you can’t expect something for free.”
“It’s my paper.” you argue.
“That you dropped.” he poked your chest lightly. “ You don’t see detectives working for free, do you?”
You place a hand on your hip. “I see heroes do it though. Like the one who runs around here.” You rotate your hand clockwise at the sky signaling South Park as a whole.
You watch as his eyebrows disappear behind his bangs. “Hero? You mean the vigilant?” intrigue laced within the question.
You shake your head in disagreement. “Doesn’t seem that way to me.” He looks at you with surprise and wonder before handing back your paper.
“I’m sure he would be happy to hear you say that.” he gives you a smile before walking away. You watch as he disappears beyond the doors. You go over the conversation you just had in your mind.

Flat Fee Listing 101 - Know The Facts Before You List Your Florida FSBO Flat Rate In The MLS!
Who are you going to believe about how the flat fee MLS industry works?
There are four "business models" offering flat fee MLS listings in Florida:
1) National Website: They are not licensed in Florida but collect money and then refer you to a Florida discount real estate broker-who gets a portion of the fees collected. National websites are competent business enterprises that usually have a real estate broker's license in one state but not in all states.
2) Florida part-time amateur flat fee website: There must be 70 or so of these "websites" in Florida. They are licensed real estate brokers that do flat fee listings part-time or are testing the waters to see if they can make a few bucks at flat fee.
3) Florida broker that is masquerading as flat fee: They seem like flat fee but their business model is not consumer friendly and I see their business practices as questionable. They may or do take your buyer leads from Realtor.com and other sources for their own agents; or possibly charge a cancellation fee as high as $500; or hold your listing hostage until you pay up ($500) by only "conditionally" withdrawing your listing from the MLS if you attempt to cancel and move to a full-service agent - your listing will be trapped in this "conditional" status until you pay the ransom of $500.
4) Florida licensed flat fee MLS broker that is established, trusted, transparent and paperless, specializes in Internet marketing and offers real customer support. (Note: There is more than one trusted MLS flat fee firm in Florida but there are also plenty of firms that do fall into the # 2 and #3 categories above as well.)
Flat fee MLS requires more than simply inputting a listing into a local MLS...
1) Flat fee MLS sellers in Florida are 100% driven by control. They want their MLS listing correct at all times.
2) Third party websites such as Realtor.com, local MLS systems and IDX feeds to local real estate brokerage firms must be monitored constantly because listings do fall out of these systems. Technical glitches happen frequently.
3) Sellers make adjustments to their listing such as pictures, price, commission and their property descriptions. There are needed forms such as mold, lead-based paint and property disclosures.
4) The Florida Flat fee MLS broker is charged with the responsibility of buyer lead capture, agent showing requests, Internet marketing, trouble shooting, customer service,Flats in Navi Mumbai Ulwe negotiating, editing and peace making. Flat Fee MLS brokers must be prepared to dedicate their time and energy.

1) Taking $200 bucks and throwing a listing into the MLS as an afterthought is not what flat fee should be about. There are more moving parts that make up a "real" flat fee MLS company than one can imagine. For example: Last week, Orlando Regional MLS just took over Venice Board of Realtors. When they did this conversion, it knocked out 53 Realtor.com "showcased" properties from Mid-Florida Regional (Orlando area). It occurred on a Thursday evening and took the resources of the vice-president of Mid-Florida Regional and the Director of Operations and many phone calls to straighten out the major glitch.
2) Amateur or part-time flat fee MLS "website" operators might not have the resources or experience to deal with such matters.
3) The flat rate MLS broker must be prepared to back up the customer with support and market effectively on the Internet.
4) If the MLS discount broker requests that you print out forms, fill them out and fax back, this means they have put no thought or investment into on-line automation. This means listing changes, edit, status changes will all be fax this-fax that....back to caveman days.
What to look out for before you list flat fee
1) If the flat fee MLS "website" does not display the "listing agreement", that should be a warning.
2) Carefully read the listing agreement "beginning-to-end" before you give any flat fee company money whether a National or a Florida based service.
3) Understand the process and policy about how buyer leads from Realtor.com and other sources get to you, the seller, if at all.
4) Realize that many calls do go to the flat fee broker. As many as 70 calls a day can come into a flat fee MLS broker. Miss one, that could be your sale.
5) Consider and verify what the hours are for the flat fee MLS service.
6) Flat fee websites that offer just one marketing option are really just a "website." There are many marketing approaches besides just a basic MLS listing. What about marketing directly to Realtors®. For example, if a seller wishes to offer a 4% buyer's agent commission, does the flat fee service provide a way to promote this higher than average commission? Some flat fee services do offer a Realtor eblast program which sends about 12,000 or so emails to all Ft Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and Jacksonville real estate agent every 15 days. This is an effective marketing approach and Realtors do respond.
7) Flat fee sellers should think about contract representation. Contract-to-close flat fee programs help get the deal done faster. Having a seasoned real estate professional handle the contract negotiations results in a smoother transaction for the seller, as well, possibly netting a higher sale. One of the trickiest parts of negotiations is the possible- subsequent re-negotiations after the inspection. Negotiating an inspection report does mean re-roofing the house because some inspector or Realtor® says the roof is at the end of its "useful" life. There is an art to getting the buyer's agent, the buyer and the seller on the same page. As well, there are some important nuances that do help get more Realtor® showings such as allowing the flat fee broker to schedule showings (more professional), using an Exclusive Right of Sale (not Exclusive Agency Listing Agreement) and use a professional looking metal sign.
How to flat fee list in Florida and stay out of trouble
1) Read the listing agreement.
2) Call the flat fee service and ask how they handle buyer leads.
3) Call and verify the hours of operation.
4) Ask if there any penalties or conditions if you cancel the listing.
5) Ask if the listing company will "unconditionally "withdraw your listing from the MLS if you choose to cancel and go with a full-service agent.
