Here's a reminder that Season 2 of The Fiery Priest is scheduled to air on Friday, November 8, 2024 in South Korea. The Fiery Priest is the second of Park Jae-Beom's "Justice Trilogy" as it's frequently called (Chief Kim aka Good Manager ; The Fiery Priest; Vincenzo in order of release) and I would love an invitation into screenwriter Park's brain because his creations are so very very good.

On this blog, I frequently talk about movies but dramas, specifically "kdramas," are another delight and from script to director(s) to casting to cinematography and soundtrack, this trilogy holds a special place for me. I think I could write a novel on the themes and scenes in Vincenzo alone. When not only the titular character but the entire cast keeps you watching, you know it's the good stuff. So happy all three shows were twenty episodes and didn't follow the more current trend of shortening the season. The slow character development enabled the viewer to discover individual stories without muddying up the plot too much.

I'm looking forward to watching as soon as Season 2 of The Fiery Priest is available for me to view, and if you haven't seen any of the above shows, I recommend them!

On the 29th of July, fifteen years ago, Jiyeon, Hyomin, Eunjung, Qri, Soyeon and Boram stepped on stage for the first time as a group to perform their debut song, "Lie."

Known for their catchy dance-pop music and synchronized choreography, T-ara gained popularity with hits like "Bo Peep Bo Peep," "Roly-Poly," and "Lovey-Dovey." T-ara has faced challenges, including member changes and controversies, but they have maintained a loyal fanbase and achieved significant success in South Korea and internationally.

If you look at its writing, it gets frustrating. The push and pull alternately every other episode. Sometimes, I don't get nor it was not built up properly why the characters made the decisions that they did. But the drama was not really made to be doomed. Seo In-guk and Park Bo-young carried the drama with their chemistry and performance. There are individual and couple moments with them that you melt into the humanity of it all. In life, sometimes we wish to destroy like Myul-mang, or hide our desire to live like Dong-kyung. But in the end, they remind us that life is beautiful. We just have to figure out ourselves (without a guy like Myul-mang. jk)

this show wrecked me and healed me then wrecked me and healed me again. send help.

one of the most beautiful shows I've seen, made me giddy and happy at 2 am. there's something abt the trope of 'guy who hates everyone but her' that makes us all weak in the knees.

i. the concept of the series. seriously. chef's kiss. doom falls in love with a human? spectacular. stupendous. amazing. the storyline was executed so well, the cast was great, the twists and turns. everything, top tier.

ii. the acting was amazing, seeing park bo young cry made me want to cry as well. when doom turned from expressionless-humanity-is-shit asshole to i-will-become-human-for-her boyfriend was one of the best arcs ive seen. tak dong kyung was the perfect protag, not "im not like other girls" or "kind to a fault". she was kind, an incredible human being, but not at her own expense. loved that for her.

iii. the! second! couple! they had me more invested than most love triangle shows. cha joo ik was so fucking iconic, bad boy supreme but not an asshole somehow. i never thought someone would be able to toe this line so well tbh. na ji na, perfect example of girl stuck in the past, and a perfect arc as well. the third guy, lee hyun kyu, sort of annoyed me a bit but then he redeemed himself. good on you, hyun kyu, for growing up.

iv. i do think the whole forgetting thing was a bit unnecessary, but ig some might depict it in terms of "they tried everything but it still didn't work". also, the scene where they remember was so worth it.

v. special thanks to korea for giving me beautiful words for doom (멸망, myul mang) and fate (운명, unmyeong).

i always love it when tragic themes/ideas which are inherently seen as bad are portrayed in a positive way. doom at your service gave me that and more. love u guys.

Honestly I just didn’t get the whole appeal of this series. I thought both seasons were kinda of messy and pointless. I think it had a lot to do with how the characters were written though. For me the main female lead is written in the way of being kind of messed up and indecisive, so she shouldn’t be in any type of relationship, while the ‘male leads’ are just a block in her way. Nothing really special to see, same ol’ same ol’, unfortunately. I feel this is more of an anime series, since the anime portion was done brilliantly and was written hilarious. I actually enjoyed that part more than the actual live action part. Oh well.
