one of the perks of my patreon is a monthly shoutout. this month, i've written down the usernames of my patrons and included them in a video with one of my blue death-feigning beetles!

i put the video under a readmore since i know some people might not be comfortable seeing insects without a warning.

i included my beetles in this shoutout because 1) they're cute and 2) the support i received from patreon gave me the extra money to buy them a special treat: beetle jelly! they really enjoyed it :-)

disclaimer- i'd never force my beetles to do anything. this one chose to walk across of its own free will. i just put the cardboard and note into their enclosure and let the four of them investigate as they pleased lol.

wasn't able to cram it onto the pic, but another con to freeze-branding is that it can take up to 8 weeks for the fur to grow back white and show a visible design. it'd probably be the best option if it wasn't for that and its price if you weren't getting a premade design

okay i've only been able to listen to the first five minutes of WBN's first "then vs now" episode so far, but can i just say--"the heavens cannot seem to agree, in the face of endless magic, what the truth of this world should be" is the HARDEST quote EVER, not just as a piece of worldbuilding, but as a brilliant summary of the spirit of collaborative creation and the infinite possibilities afforded by storytelling in a blank, creator-owned, boundless space.

what a perfect encapsulation of everything that worlds beyond number is all about. and what a gift to be allowed to sit around the fire and listen to it all take shape.
