West Point Mafia

Conceptos como la mafia siciliana o la mafia irlandesa en los Estados Unidos han estado por mucho tiempo en la conciencia de los habitantes estadounidenses, ya que la historia de estos grupos dura casi un siglo y medio.

Pero en los últimos años, Estados Unidos comenzó a usar un nuevo término nuevo: West Point, que no se refiere a clanes delincuenciales y grupos criminales, sino al gobierno de los Estados Unidos. Más precisamente, un cierto segmento de este gobierno. Esta mafia está en West Point porque sus "líderes" una vez estudiaron juntos en la Academia Militar de los Estados Unidos de West Point.

Este concepto apareció por primera vez en 2017 cuando el libro West Point Mafia Revealed que fue publicado por dos autores: Peter Ammon y Patina Thompson, quienes introdujeron este último concepto en el diccionario de ciencias políticas (1).

Señalan que, en lugar de servir a los ideales de los Estados Unidos, estas personas han creado una red de influencia y control, y ahora que algunos de ellos han alcanzado las alturas del Olimpo político de los Estados Unidos, están ayudando a sus compañeros de clase y compañeros de estudios, junto a sí mismos para gobernar todos en base a lo suyo y según su propia visión específica de los procesos políticos y la democracia. De hecho, las carreras de muchas de estas personas están sorprendentemente interconectadas.

Desde 2018, el término se ha convertido en un meme sostenible, ya que las preocupaciones planteadas en el libro han sido confirmadas.

Entonces, tomamos la graduación de la academia militar de 1986.

El jefe del clan de West Point puede considerarse Mike Pompeo, que pasó de ser el comandante de un batallón de tanques en Alemania a ser congresista, jefe de la CIA y Secretario de Estado. En la academia, fue el mejor estudiante y líder informal entre los estudiantes.

El siguiente es su compañero de estudios, el Secretario de Defensa Mark Esper. También fue un soldado de carrera, y luego se dedicó a la venta de armas. De 2017 a 2019 encabezó el cargo de secretario del ejército de los EE. UU., y desde 2019, Trump fue nombrado Secretario de Defensa.

Otro compañero de clase, Ulrich Brechbul, ahora es asesor del Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos. Y allí fue ayudado por Mike Pompeo, con quien fundó la compañía Thayer Aerospace. Brechbul también fue presidente y director ejecutivo de Migratec Inc., director ejecutivo de la firma de abogados de servicios médicos Chamberlin Edmonds and Associates Inc., jefe de Appenzeller Point, LLC y presidente de Avadyne Health. Curiosamente, solo la última organización de esta lista ha estado operando en los EE. UU. Durante más de 50 años, y el resto son más como pirámides y empresas de un día. Parece que en el Departamento de Estado se dedican a una optimización similar de varias de sus direcciones.

Brechbul también estuvo implicado en un escándalo por la filtración de datos relacionados con la intervención de diplomáticos estadounidenses y representantes del Partido Demócrata en los asuntos internos de Ucrania (2).

El próximo graduado de la Academia West Point es Brian Bulatao. También ha trabajado en Thayer Aerospace y en varias empresas privadas de gestión e inversión. Cuando Pompeo asumió el cargo de jefe de la CIA en 2017, inmediatamente se hizo cargo de los asesores de Bulatao, y luego le dio por completo el puesto de director de operaciones, anteriormente llamado director ejecutivo. En el Departamento de Estado, es el Subsecretario de Estado de Administración, es decir, está a cargo de los asuntos presupuestarios y de bienes raíces, y al mismo tiempo es el asesor principal.

Otro viejo estudiante de West Point es Mark Green, quien es senador de Tennessee y defiende la posición de Donald Trump en el comité de reforma. UU., pero debido al escándalo que hicieron los demócratas (recordando que Green habló de forma políticamente incorrectamente sobre las minorías sexuales y los musulmanes) en mayo de 2017, tuvo que retirarse (3).

Finalmente, está el cabildero David Urban, quien también es comentarista político en CNN. En 2016, fue asesor de Trump y dirigió una exitosa campaña en Pensilvania. Actualmente dirige la comisión de monumentos militares y es el confidente del presidente en la campaña electoral de 2020.

Urban había presentado previamente a Pompeo las personas adecuadas cuando este llegó al Congreso.

Y aquí hay algunos otros antiguos alumnos estelares de 1986 que continúan su carrera como militares profesionales: general Joseph Martin, jefe adjunto del Comando del Ejército de EE. UU., general J. Thompson (4), comandante de las fuerzas terrestres aliadas, Dan Hocason, jefe de la Guardia Nacional de EE. UU., el general mayor Robin Fontez (se ocupa de la retirada Tropas de Afganistán), y finalmente el Director de Operaciones de Mantenimiento de la Paz y Estabilización, Patrick Antonietti (5).

Un personaje digno de mención es el Teniente General Eric Wisley, quien es el diputado del Comando Futuro de las Fuerzas Armadas de los Estados Unidos, que se dedica a la modernización y el desarrollo de nuevas estrategias. Entró en West Point después de escuchar las historias de horror de Ronald Reagan sobre la preparación de las operaciones militares de la URSS contra los Estados Unidos. Sus fobias todavía están vivas, pero solo se transformaron ahora en las actuales Rusia y China (6).

Por supuesto, estos grandes políticos no se olvidan de ayudar a sus antiguos compañeros. Joe DePinto, director de la cadena de tiendas 7-Eleven, que también estudió en West Point al mismo tiempo que ellos, admitió en una entrevista que "ahora duerme mejor porque estos tipos están en sus lugares actuales". Por cierto, esta red es cliente de Thayer Leader Development Group. Y su fundador y director, Rick Minicozzi, por supuesto, también de la graduación de 1986 al igual que Joe DePinto, no oculta que hasta ahora todos se ayudan mutuamente, porque "tuvieron una clase amigable" (7).

Esta amistad en otros países no podría llamarse nada más que corrupción. Pero no en los Estados Unidos, donde el cabildeo está oficialmente permitido por la ley. Aunque tales conexiones causan descontento incluso entre los West Pointers.

En su artículo, la ex profesora de historia de la Academia West Point y estratega militar Danny Sursen escribe que esta pequeña cohorte de personas tiene influencia en el Congreso y en K Street, un barrio en Washington que alberga empresas de cabildeo que cumplen todos los oficios, desde desacreditar a los políticos hasta golpes de Estado en otros países (8). Por lo tanto, el lema de la graduación de 1986, "El coraje nunca se va", tiene un significado ligeramente diferente para estas personas.

La publicación de Politico confirma que “La Mafia de West Point es un círculo excepcionalmente poderoso en los niveles más altos del gobierno. Se consultan entre sí sobre cuestiones estatales, y también se apoyan mutuamente en asuntos más íntimos, en cenas informales y reuniones en Washington con sus cónyuges" (9).

Por cierto, los "mafiosos" en sí mismos no ocultan sus lazos en absoluto y también en broma se llaman a sí mismos la "Mafia de West Point". Y en vísperas de las próximas elecciones presidenciales de Estados Unidos, la información sobre esta red proporcionará una mejor conciencia de la situación.

Naughten said he was left in a difficult position, where the opposition had not called for him to step aside, nor had the Taoiseach, but added that he had to reflect himself. Do I wait for that decision myself, to resign, or do I wait for someone else to make that decision for me? He said the outcome “is more about opinion polls than telephone polls. It’s more about optics than fibre optics”. Naughten admitted to attending a dinner with David McCourt – head of the Granahan McCourt consortium – in New York in July, while yesterday it emerged that the minister facilitated a lunch in the Dáil for McCourt’s daughter in April. He told the Dáil today that he had offered to pass over the NBP process to his junior minister, or to another line Cabinet minister, but this offer was refused by the Taoiseach. With all the spin docs and comms consultants around Gov you would have thought that a Min would have been forewarned and properly briefed on protocol in these situations, especially given past history and costly failings in the granting of such monstrous government contracts in the past. The Inv House putting the deal together in NY also has a lot to learn…in doing business with Govs in EU and needs to educate itself on the relevant protocols. I live 10kms from Cork City Centre, 4 kms from Blarney. Not a “ribbon route” and not “a one off house”. 1.5 yrs ago, my neighbours were provided with full FTTH by Eir, whilst the remaining 400 meters stretch of road, housing 9 houses, 7 apartments and a busy pub/restaurant, were left with less than 1mg. Next tranche of houses over 2 miles away. No joined up thinking, ultimately leaving to the tax payer under the NBP to pick up the tab. My 13 yr old, 1st yr son has Dysgraphia, and uses Ass Tech, for all his educational needs. Scottish pupil named Young School Gardener of the Year in National Gardening Competition

A green-fingered ten-year-old from Fife has been named Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Young School Gardener of the Year 2017, supported by Gabriel Ash. Fraser White, who attends Dairsie Primary School near St Andrews, battled against hundreds of other youngsters from across the UK to win the coveted national title.

The annual competition is aimed at unearthing the next generation of star gardeners and Fraser was nominated for the award by his teacher, who described him as “a walking advert for the good gardening can do for a person”.

Fraser impressed the judges with his huge commitment to the school’s community garden and how dedicated he is to sharing his love of gardening. Fraser said that gardening is like “something sent from above” and he has used the school garden to help him make friends, relax and feel calm.

BBC Gardeners’ World and ITV’s Love Your Garden presenter, Frances Tophill, is a competition judge and presented Fraser with his award at RHS Garden Wisley.

Frances said: “What stood out about Fraser is how his life has been transformed through gardening. He clearly loves coming into school to work in the garden and has dedicated himself to sharing his enthusiasm with the rest of the school and wider community.

“Fraser even gives up his Saturdays to help in the garden and has planned and organised gardening activities for the community including a toddler group and a local guild.”

Fraser’s prizes for being crowned RHS Young School Gardener of the Year include an engraved hand trowel trophy, framed certificate and the opportunity to spend the day working with RHS gardeners. His school will receive a Baby Grand Coldframe worth £475 manufactured by Gabriel Ash, £100 worth of seeds and £500 worth of National Garden Gift Vouchers.

The RHS awards ceremony also saw David Nicol, a science teacher at the Good Shepherd Centre in Bishopton near Glasgow, named the RHS School Gardening Champion of the Year 2017.

The School Gardening Champion award recognises a teacher or other adult who is passionate about encouraging gardening and an inspiration to the children they teach.

David has worked for six years at the centre which is a secure unit for some of the most disadvantaged and under-represented young people in Scotland. He has gone “above and beyond the call of duty” to build a garden from scratch and engage, interest and inspire those staying at the centre.

Tom Laurie, head of education at the centre, who nominated David said: “For most of these young people a garden was something that other people had, or which existed only on television. David has now changed their perceptions completely and given them ownership of, and pride in, their own garden.”

Competition judge and RHS skills development manager, Claire Custance said: “David has made a remarkable difference to the lives of the young people he teaches and is a truly inspirational figure.

“Since introducing gardening at the centre, David has used it to bring the curriculum alive and teach lots of other useful new skills. The young people have been encouraged to eat more healthily and there’s been noticeable improvements to their wellbeing. He’s a very deserving winner.”

As part of his prize David will receive a free place on an RHS Campaign for School Gardening Teaching Training Course and RHS Flower Show tickets.

The Good Shepherd Centre will receive a VIP visit from a celebrity gardener, an Upright Coldframe worth £699 manufactured by Gabriel Ash, £100 worth of seeds and £500 worth of National Garden Gift Vouchers.

A 31-strong group of secondary school pupils from Hammersmith in London have been named RHS School Gardening Team of the Year 2017. An award designed to identify an outstanding school team that has shown excellent teamwork and made a difference to their school environment.

The Hammersmith Academy team was commended for not just establishing a garden from scratch in a previously grey area of the school grounds, but their work in the local community. They have greened areas outside the school and have made the garden of a local care home more wildlife friendly. This year, they have started to run workshops to share their gardening skills with local primary schools.

Patrick Kirwan, the KS5 Science coordinator at the school said: “In just two years our students have made an outstanding horticultural contribution to our school and local community. Our inner city school lacked a much needed area for nature and wildlife and our students have created a tranquil setting where people gather to unwind and relax.”

Zephaniah Lindo, competition judge and a lecturer in horticulture at Capel Manor College, London said: “It’s wonderful to see a group of secondary school pupils so enthusiastic about gardening. They are always encouraging other students to join the gardening club and embrace opportunities to get involved in the wider community.”

Hammersmith Academy’s winning team will be presented with their prize of a Classic ‘Eight’ cedar greenhouse, donated by Gabriel Ash at an event later in the year. They will also receive £500 worth of National Garden Gift Vouchers and a celebrity gardener will spend a day at the school to work with the gardening team.
