Friday, July 5: Motörhead, "Talking Head"
R.I.P. Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister (1945-2015), "Fast Eddie Clarke (1950-2018), Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (1954-2015)
Not long into "Talking Head," Lemmy hilariously croaked “Don’t touch that dial!!!” and the tune just strutted from there.  The penultimate track on Bomber carried on with the snarling swagger that defined Motörhead in the late ‘70s, and while it wasn’t as overtly heavy as what would soon come, it was still unwashed and completely unique to these three madmen.  Fast Eddie smoked out bluesy licks over Lemmy’s clacking Rickenbacker while Philthy Phil barely kept himself from going full muppet, and Lemmy croaked out his common-sense wisdom with a hysterical mix of bemusement and outrage, and these were all the fundamental attributes that made Motörhead one of the greats.
