S3 E4 Who Watches the Watchers

Look at that! The opening shot on the bridge Troi and Riker are just gazing at each other

Weird bit of exposition...surely Geordi would have read the briefing.

I love the focus pull from Worf to Picard

Wow, Picard is in a bit of a grumpy mood.

Riker and Troi keep looking at each other at the conference table [probably talking telepathically] and next thing you know they have a plan to go on an away mission together! But really, this episode is a ln important contribution to building their friendship. Troi doesn't go on a lot of away missions, and she doesn't often work one on one with Riker. They tend to gravitate to each other in group setting but that's more dependant on their relationship as it already exists. This variation on circumstances allows them to develop their interpersonal dynamic just a little more.

The way they talk about the societal relationship of men and women displays the comfort and trust they have with each other. It's playful, sexually suggestive, but at the same time emotionally safe. If Riker talks about sex with anyone else it look like flirting, with Troi it's just a level of conversation they're both comfortable with. it's directly in line with their conversation about Betazed libido in "Manhunt".

You can tell this set is a redressed set from "The Ensigns of Command" because it has the same physical structure.

I hope those are just the swatches because...that's not a while lot to trade with. Riker might get...what, one shirt out if that bundle?

I just noticed Riker's beard isn't trimmed to it's nautical shape for his Mintakan disguise.

I feel like Riker changing back to normal was a bit premature. Why not send him back for Troi?

Riker smiling because of Troi is so cute. And his response to Data is another gentle, soft spoken moment. I like the light synthesizer soundtrack in the background at this segment too.

Another great moment (like Troi describing language) that discusses perception of technological advancement. It's not complicated but it's well and thoroughly presented.

I hate super fake tv/theatre/film lightning; a dead give away is when there no delay between lightning and subsequent thunder. (also, that's some really bright lightning)
