Tumblr media
The sound of wind gently blowing through the trees surrounding the small lake and tingle the colorful flowers on the ground filled my ear. I was sitting on one of the bigger branches, my feet barely hanging above the surface of the water as I let the breeze caress my skin. The fresh air filled my lungs as I took slow, deep breaths savouring the feeling of being alone with mother nature.
The Meadow was surely my favourite place in the whole world. The dazzling scenery was calm, yet vibrant and full of life - just like all of us living here. It was fairies’ shelter, a place every other creature was scared to enter, anxious due to the rumours about some unknown spells surrounding the area. Even if they were just rumors, fairies being themselves wouldn’t like to share their beloved home place with anybody else.
The beautiful lake located just in the centre of The Meadow was what I loved about this place the most. I could spend hours just looking at the soft waves caressing the sand as the refreshing breeze tingled everything else around it. Right in front of me I could see a small group of fairies laughing and chatting at the shore. I wasn’t the only one who loved the lake - probably most of us did, but the spot I was sitting in was my secret, everyday hideout, nobody knew about. From this place I had the perfect view on surface of the water and everything that surrounded it.
That’s why I almost felt my heart stop when I heard some twigs cracking on the ground under somebody’s feet. Someone was making their way towards my spot in rather fast pace not minding the sounds they was making. Why would a fairy be in such a rush? We were free creatures, living our lives of casting spells, tricks on others and never ending resting.
But what I saw was not a fairy. Not even a different creature of the Woods. My eyes went wide as I scanned the human boy who had just entered my view. His tall frame made him look strong and intimidating even when his clothes were slightly dirty from walking through the forest surrounding the Meadow. He moved his dark hair out of his face while panting heavily, making me immediately think that he must’ve been running to get here.
There was no way I could’ve mistaken him, despite the fact that humans were staying away from the Woods and their inhabitants. He was Oh Sehun - the firstborn of the humans’ royal family and their crown prince.
His eyes darted to mine, almost immediately after he entered my hideout and noticed me sitting on the branch. For a moment we were just eyeing each other feeling rather uneasy because of the other’s presence.
I had never seen a human in the Meadow before, but definitely wasn’t afraid of him. However I couldn’t help the thoughts inside my head. How did he get here? Was he brave enough to come to the Meadow despite all of those fake rumors about the spells? Or was he just desperate? But why would the humans’ prince be desperate? The only thing he didn’t have was magic so why would he come to the fairies’ home?
He took a deep breath, as if he had almost felt scared of talking to me.
“Can you help me?” his voice came out surprisingly confident without even a hint of insecurity
I furrowed my eyebrows. What would a prince want from a fairy?
Still, I nodded slowly motioning him to continue.
“I am Oh Sehun, the crown prince of humans, but probably you know that.” he said “And my coronation is supposed to occur in two weeks.”
The boy took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a brief second before speaking up again.
“But I don’t want that. So that’s why I’m asking...”
He paused one more time as I remained seated on the branch, still as confused as I had been before.
“Do me a favour.” he said while looking me directly in the eyes “Put a spell on them. Put a spell on my family.”
I giggled. So that’s what it was all about? He was afraid of the responsibility that came with the crown? I never would’ve expected that a human could be afraid of being in power. Without any spells, abnormal strength, or any other kind of other magical ability they seemed to always want it.
But who were I to say no?
“Okay.”
The Prince let out a sigh of relief.
“But fairies don’t do anything for free.” I added quickly making him furrow his eyebrows “We always need something in return.”
He should’ve known better than to simply ask me to do something. We didn’t know ‘favours’; for us only ‘deals’ existed. I couldn’t lie - fairies are selfish creatures. But so are humans.
I jumped of the branch right into the water, splashing some of it around me as I let the waves flow around my bare feet. Slowly, I walked out of the lake and came closer to the prince. His breath sped up - he definitely wasn’t used to compay of any of the creatures of the Woods.
“What do you want than?” there was no sound of fear in his voice, just like expected from the heir
I smirked knowing that he’ll do anything to get what he wants. I could read that on his face. He was Oh Sehun and I had him wrapped around my finger.
We were somehow alike - Sehun and I. As a fairy I had everything I wanted in my long life. Eternal youth, the power of magic, a beautiful place to live, but there was one thing I lacked. Just like Sehun didn’t get to experience magic, I didn’t get to experience what his life looked like. So when he had asked my what I wanted in return I instantly knew what my answer would be.
“You’ll let me into the castle.”
For a moment a confused look appeared on his face, but it was quickly gone. His eyes didn’t leave mine for second and, despite his shaky breath, all I could see in them was true determination.
Without hesitating he said “Deal.”
My lips curled up into a smirk as I eyed the heir. I started to wonder whether he knew how risky it actually was to let me inside the castle where every royal, including himself, lived. We, the creatures of the Woods, were what humans avoided and dreaded the most. One of their main rules was not to let us anywhere near them at all cost. And now Prince Oh Sehun was breaking it.
“Tell me.” he scanned my frame as if to look for any differences between our bodies “What would a fairy want from a castle?”
I let out a chuckle and crossed my arms over my chest.
“I want to try it out. Your type of life.” I explained “It’s the only thing I can’t have as a fairy because you, humans, are so afraid of us. However, I think that you might be an exception.”
“And why is that?” he asked me
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a human even dare to think about entering the Meadow.” I crooked my head to the side and continued with a mocking tone “Haven’t your parents told you about the spells surrounding this place?”
“They have.” he scoffed “But it turns out that it was just a bunch of lies somebody came up with and now people believe it.”
I laughed and took a few steps closer to the Prince. He was hovering over me with his tall, strong frame. Some would say that he even looked intimidating, but not to me. Because I knew how simple the whole situation was. Oh Sehun was just a human asking a magical creature to do something for him.
“That doesn’t change the fact that you were brave enough to come here.” I smiled at him teasingly
Our bodies didn’t touch each other, but I was close enough to feel the Prince’s scent. He smelled like anise and freshly cut plants, most probably due to the fact that he had been getting through the forest a few moments before.
“May I ask you what’s your name?” suddenly he spoke up one more time “Since you already know mine.”
I didn’t bother stretching out my hand to him and remained as close as I was before, testing both his mind, heart and all of the senses.
“Y/N.” I introduced myself briefly “And I’m a fairy. I don’t have any fancy titles like you do.”
“So, Y/N…” he trailed of “How do you want me to sneak you into the castle?”
My head flew back the moment I started to laugh one more time.
“Oh no.” I snorted “You need to figure this out yourself. You’re the one who wants the deal to happen, aren’t you?”
Before he could answer me I spoke again.
“If you’re really eager on your wish coming true than come back here tomorrow. Or just any other day, but with a real plan. Not just an idea of it”
The Prince studied my face carefully and ran his hand through his messed ebony hair in a swift motion. Without a word he turned around and dashed back into the forest leaving me alone with a grin on my face. For a moment I could still hear the sounds of cracking twigs and leaves shuffling as Prince Oh Sehun tried to get out of the Meadow.
When I heard the same familiar noises coming from the forest I immediately turned myself to the side, splashing the water I was standing in around me.
“I actually thought you’d give up, Prince.” my eyebrows raised as I noticed Oh Sehun stepping out of the trees into my hideout “I didn’t know you were that desperate.”
The boy stood in front of me once again, in the same place as the day before. Both his hair and outfit were disheveled and his breath was heavy. He indeed was brave - visiting the Meadow two days in a row. For a moment I started to wonder what would've happened if somebody had found out that he was sneaking out of the castle to come here.
“I’m not desperate.” he answered rather harshly “I am just making sure I’ll get what I want.”
Today the Prince seemed definitely more confident - the previous insecurity mixed with a hint of fear disappeared almost completely.
“So I came here with a plan, just like you told me to.” he continued
I took a few steps in the water causing the surface to gently flow around my ankles.
“I’m all ears.”
The Prince took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a few second, as if he was wondering whether to tell me what he had planned or not.
“I am going to introduce you as a member of the nobility.” he announced “And as my fiancée.”
I turned my head around abruptly, sending him a scolding look. Within a moment I got out of the lake and stepped closer to him.
“Are you being serious right now?” my tone was firm “Why would I agree to this stupid idea of yours?”
“Yes I am serious, but I have everything planned out. So don’t worry about it - nothing that you don’t want will happen.” his confidence didn’t vanish, but he raised his hands trying to calm me down “It’s just a title that you will have for the time you spend at the castle. Also the status of prince’s fiancée will allow you to do whatever you desire there. I guarantee you that. You will have everything there - an enormous chamber, myriads of dresses, or service who will obey your orders without a word.”
His huge promises made my heart beat with excitement. What he told me was exactly what I had imagined the palace life to look like.
“And have you thought about what is going to happen the moment I put the spell on your parents? You want me to make them change their minds about your coronation and becoming the new king. But your human kingdom will need a new ruler anyways.”
“I thought about it.” he answered quickly “And it should be my younger brother.”
I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Do you want it to be a part of the spell? Tricking them into thinking that your brother should become the next king?”
He nodded and asked me “What do you want in return for that?”
I smirked. Oh Sehun surely was a fast learner.
“You’ll let me stay in the castle for however long I want.” I demanded “If I hate it, I’ll leave. But if I enjoy it, I’ll keep you company for at least some time.”
He perfectly knew that in my case ‘some time’ could even mean eternity. For the Prince it could mean having to secretly keep a fairy inside the castle walls for his whole human life. Not only was it risky, but also dangerous for him, his family members and every single person that lived there. The other thing was that if somebody found out they would most probably banish him.
The Prince’s eyes darted to the side, trying not to look at me as he started to think. I could almost feel all of the thoughts and concerns running through his mind.
“I agree.” he said finally
“I knew you would.” I teased “I told you that you’re desperate. Even though you’re trying to convince me that it’s just pure determination.”
He breathed in through his nose loudly, his anger slowly starting to build up. Still, as a royal he was reserved and didn’t let emotions take over him that easily so just a few seconds later a calm look appeared on his face back again.
“How would you like to seal the deal?” he asked me with a gentle tone “Do you want us to sign a contract, or something?”
“Oh, no.” I shook my head “Only demons do that. We don’t need that kind of useless, formal stuff. Our deals are more like… They’re more like promises. And it’s up to you weather you break it or not.”
“Fairies never break promises?” he raised his eyebrow at my words
“Never. You humans only see as untrustworthy tricksters who use their magic to tease the others.” humans didn’t really think out of the box. They only had their one close minded point of view they were too stubborn, or perhaps too scared to deny. “I can’t lie - some of the things you have in your minds about us probably are true, but we definitely don’t break promises. And, like I had already told you, we’re not like demons. Deals with us are more clear and there are no hidden parts of it that could possibly harm you.”
“It seems like there are a lot of things about fairies that I don’t know.”
The Prince was smirking at me. I had a hunch that he was somehow different from other humans. Or maybe I felt like that because he was the first human I had encountered in ages. Still, there was something about him that made my attitude more welcoming. Maybe it was his confidence, or prince-like posture. I could even say that I sort of liked him.
With my eyes locked with his chocolate ones I whispered stretching out each word “You will be surprised how many.”
I was calling Sehun brave and confident, yet I forgot that the only reason I was actually even talking to him was because he didn’t want to become the new king. It was that sort of weird paradox in which you are sure about something, but later another fact excludes that thing. The Prince was far away from a coward. However he was trying to run away from his responsibilities as an heir.
“Well, I didn't actually ask you about it yesterday.” I started, my curiosity taking over “But why are you doing this? Dealing with a fairy not to become the new king?”
He let out an annoyed sigh.
“I don’t want it. I don’t want the crown.” he wasn’t looking at me like he was ashamed of the words coming out of his mouth “It’s not like I’m scared though. I just want to live my life to the fullest without the feeling that I’m forever attached to the throne. Without a doubt people would expect me to be like my father. And I don’t think I would meet their demands because we’re so different. My brother is more like him and that’s another reason why I think he is more suitable for this role.”
There was something in his voice that caused me to believe him in some way. I didn’t know the humans’ royal family well, actually only what they looked like, but the Prince’s tone was serious enough to make me think that at least a part of what he had said was true.
‘In the castle I will have a lot of time to verify it.’ I thought
“Can you meet me tomorrow somewhere near the castle?” he asked me quickly like he didn’t want me to dig into the topic more “Or maybe I can come here tomorrow and we’ll go together? It’s up to you.”
When he had come here yesterday it had just been a conversation, a one full of weird tension, between a human and a creature from the Woods And now it was different. Maybe he had realized that fairies aren’t that scary or dangerous as he had thought before? Or maybe it was me who had changed their mind about the humans’ hier?
“Meet me outside the Meadow. Meeting close to the castle might be too dangerous.” I said
“Alright.” he nodded without any hesitation and lessened the tension in his shoulders
Prince Oh Sehun unquestionably lit a spark of curiosity inside me.

EXO - magical (record store)!AU (incl. Byun Baekhyun, Oh Sehun, Park Chanyeol, Kim Junmyeon [mentioned], Do Kyungsoo [mentioned], Zhang Yixing [mentioned])
S - part 1 / S - part 2 / F - part 3 / W - part 4
word count: 3330 (don’t even ask me how this happened, it took me ages to start writing at all and then to finish it. who would have thought this will have a thousand words more than the first part…)
I proudly present: part 3. Damn, this one was the hardest to write. But I did it, which means there will definitely be a fourth and final part. One for each season.
Please cheer for me, I’ve never finished any of my writings before xD Anyway, please enjoy this piece, I hope you like it - especially if you already liked the other two parts ^-^
special mentions: @kafkascupcake (without you this little series wouldn’t even exist) and @katjanara (who was the first person ever to ask me if i could tag her in these updates) - i hope I won’t disappoint you with this. Lots of love to you~
Fall didn’t knock on the metaphorical door first before he came to the city. It basically blew the door away with the storm it brought.
You moved your favourite place from the balcony to your sofa in the living room, exchanged light clothing and cooling drinks with warm hoodies and hot tea. The dark clouds hanging in the sky promised heavy rain, which you would actually enjoy if you didn’t have to go outside for grocery shopping. The mere thought of the wet cold that would enter your body starting from your fingertips and cheeks combined with the wind that howled outside didn’t exactly cause joy in you.
But you would have some friends over today and you told them not to bother shopping because you would take care of cooking something delicious. Something you wouldn’t have said if you knew that you would have to go shopping for some fresh vegetables in stormy weather. You tried to cheer yourself up with the thought that you will enjoy the cooking and the eating and the time with your friend and that going outside would be totally worth it in the end.
Putting on a raincoat and a beanie hat, you set your mind on only buying the food you would need for cooking a delicious soup. Nothing more. There was no need to stay out there for longer than necessary. This kind of weather definitely screamed “stay inside and watch something on Netflix” loudly and that was exactly what you had planned to do with your friends.
Throwing your keys into your backpack you left your apartment to step out, where fall immediately brushed your cheeks and kissed the tip of your nose with cold lips. With your hands buried deep in the pockets of your jacket you quickly walked towards the next bus stop. As much as you liked wandering through the town, with a grey sky and the wind constantly blowing your hair as well as little droplets of rain into your face, taking a walk wasn’t fun at all. Even the short distance to the bus stop made you shiver a bit, your body still accustomed to the warmth of your living room.
But you were lucky and the bus heading towards the general direction of the grocery store came quickly. You quietly sighed in relief when you noticed that the heating system of the vehicle was functioning properly and opened your jacket a bit after you sat down next to a window. With a growl of the engine the bus took off and carried you safely over the wet streets.
The little droplets that fell from the sky only a few minutes ago had turned into a pouring rain shower, so you could observe the thick raindrops running down on the glass of the window. You followed them with your eyes like they were part of a race only you watched.
Not really sure which drop had won, you lifted your gaze again, quickly figuring out how much time you had left until you had to get off the bus again. But it seemed like you were caught in a series of red traffic lights. Knowing well, that this trip to the store might take a bit more time, you leaned your head against the glass of the window, slightly vibrating with the stuttering of the bus’s engine.
You heard cars rushing over the crossroad, saw their headlights a bit blurry through the window, imagined where they might be heading on that stormy Saturday. Maybe they went home, maybe they were almost there, maybe they were only passing the town on a longer journey to a place far away from here.
Checking your environment again, you pressed the stop button to signal the driver you were going to get off at the next stop. Mentally, you prepared yourself for walking very fast and very straight towards the store without stumbling or slipping on the wet concrete. Then the bus stopped abruptly, the driver opening the back doors and you stepped into the cold again.
Your plan of getting to your destination quickly and safely worked out just fine but did nothing against the cold creeping along your skin once again. At least your pants didn’t get too wet from the rain.
At the store you grabbed a basket and recited your shopping list in your head. Vegetables first. Walking through the aisles of the store, you were so focused on not forgetting anything from your list that you didn’t recognize the familiar face next to you until the person called out your name. A little in shock you turned to where the voice came from only to meet the face of Baekhyun, the ever-happy florist from Flowery Friends.
After the first two visits you paid the shop, you quickly became a regular there. Nowhere else you found your spontaneous impulse-flower-buying needs as satisfied as in that shop. They offered such a vast variety of flowers, managed to treat them with so much care (you began to believe they had to be plant whisperers) and never failed to be nice and friendly towards their customers. Especially, when summertime brought a flood of customers to the shop their talent to deal with people and their amazing teamwork showed. You could observe multiple times how they took turns entertaining the waiting customers with iced tea, lemonade and fresh pastries Kyungsoo had brought by, guiding the people through the shop and managing the finances in the end, when everybody had found what they’ve been looking for. Every time you had come back home from the shop you felt a bit brighter and calmer than before, as if you were a freshly watered flower yourself.
“What a coincidence to meet you here, (y/n)! On a nice vegetable shopping trip? Sorry, if I startled you” Baekhyun greeted you with his usual bubbly spirit, glancing quickly at the basket you were carrying when he asked you his question.
“Oh, I really didn’t expect you there, but it’s fine. Actually, yes. I’ll be cooking for some friends today and I was missing some ingredients” you confirmed with a smile.
“Umm, let me guess - you plan on having some soup! What’s fall if not season of vegetables and soup…”
“Exactly” you grinned at him.
“Well, I was sent to buy some snacks for some friends who work not far from here. Basically, next door. They run a record store, have I told you about it already? Or maybe one of the guys from the café?”
You shook your head in confusion. Nobody had ever mentioned a record store to you. Baekhyun’s eyes widened in surprise.
“We have not?! Oh no, Sehun will be so mad…” he mumbled. “Hey, do you have a few minutes to spare when you’re done here? I have to introduce you to some friends of ours” he quickly asked then.
“Umm…”
“The flower shop, the café and their record store work very closely together, you have to know. We are a group of guys who know each other for a pretty long time and decided to make business together but couldn’t decide on what exactly. So, we just went with all three ideas we had.” Baekhyun interrupted you once again and met you with his brightest smile. There was no way you would be able to say no to his adorable excitement.
“Sure, go ahead, show me that record store. I just can’t stay for too long. My friends probably won’t like waiting in front of locked doors.”
“Yeah, yeah, no problem” the florist beamed at you.
Then you continued your shopping, Baekhyun telling you some anecdotes from the shop. Especially of Junmyeon, who couldn’t keep his funny (Baekhyun drew quotation marks in the air) jokes to himself even in front of customers. You giggled at the thought of that. You always found it endearing when the oldest florist cracked one of his jokes. It did a lot to the laid-back atmosphere of the shop. But as far as you could judge, Baekhyun would never admit this out loud, so you didn’t bother arguing.
Groceries paid and securely stowed away in your backpack, Baekhyun lead you through the rain, towards the place he wanted you to show while talking non-stop. Much about the guy, called Sehun apparently, who seemingly would be so mad hearing that he was the last one to get to know you.
“He can be so petty sometimes, really. Dramatic even. We got used to it though, so it’s alright.”
Still, you were wondering why these guys made such a fuss about your person after the first time you stepped into the little flower shop. They even made an incredibly delicious cake for your birthday (you didn’t even remember telling them that date) and that kind of special and extra-kind treatment was certainly not given to every of their customers … so why you? Because you didn’t expect them to give you the lavender bunches for free the first time you entered their shop and actually wanted to pay for them? You didn’t believe that.
For a moment you played with the thought of asking Baekhyun right away what the reason for their behaviour was, but you were interrupted by him declaring the two of you had reached the record store. You let your eyes take in the area for a moment.
You had definitely walked that street before – no small, secret alley as you had expected. There were shops looking familiar to you and even a bus stop you knew you got on and off plenty of times.
“Say Baekhyun, how long does that shop exist already?”
“As long as the other two. Why are you asking?”
“Because it never caught my eye before. I’ve been here multiple times and don’t remember seeing a record store here.”
“Oh, that’s because Chanyeol had the genius idea to rent basement rooms for their shop. You see, those windows here?” He pointed towards the lower part of the brick stone building you stood in front of. “Perfect view on the interiors of the shop. Quote by Chanyeol. He also says that basement rooms have the perfect atmosphere for record stores. But you’ve just proven my theory that nobody will ever notice the shop even exists.”
He sighed. “Anyway, follow me, you are about to enter the probably best-hidden heaven of music.”
You just assumed that Chanyeol must be another person of their group you haven’t met yet.
Baekhyun led you down a small staircase (well, at least you had noticed that one before) and showed you the entrance of the shop. The door reminded you of Flowery Friends. It was a wooden door as well, painted yellow with a handwritten label saying SC Records in messy letters coloured red and green.
“Maybe they should put a sign with their shop name somewhere upstairs? You can’t really miss these colours, people should just get the chance to actually see them” you thought out loud.
“Yeah, I hope, they are at least working on that.”
With these words he gave the door a push and signalized you to follow him inside, where you stood still for a moment. The plain, cold, brick stone walls were decorated with countless records, cover sleeves, instruments and some lamps, shining a warm light on the shelves lining up in all possible shapes and sizes, filled to the brim with records.
You recognized enough of covers on the walls to get a rough idea of where the different music genres were located. Excitement bubbled up in you and you were quick to put your wet jacket on the coat stand near the shop entrance so you wouldn’t damage any of the cover sleeves with the wetness from the stormy weather reigning outside. You were happy as well to have a chance to free your body from the wet piece of clothing and warm up a bit in the comfortable warmth of the store.
Only now you noticed that Baekhyun had vanished from your side, probably off to find his friends, the owners of the shop. You had no idea which one of the doors at the back of the shop he had taken so you just decided to stay in the main room first, strolling through the genres, taking a closer look at the records.
You came across musicians and groups you’ve heard and read about before, some of your favourite LPs from different decades but also names you’ve never heard about before. On many of the covers you found sticky notes with quick descriptions of the music style and recommendations for artists with similar sounds. Well, that was some cute and carefully done work.
Now you knew what you should check out if you want to listen to music with “bass lines that’ll give you a nice cerebrum massage” or “the  s i c k e s t  guitar riffs”. You hoped you could keep some of the names in mind.
“Hey, lavender girl, come over here for a second!”
You giggled at the nickname Baekhyun had just used. That one didn’t come up for a longer time now, but nice that it was still remembered. Lifting your head from the shelf you were just checking out, you saw him at the backdoor in the middle, pointing at the room he just peeked out from, where you met the two tall guys that introduced themselves as Chanyeol, who smiled like the Cheshire cat while waving at you, and Sehun, who was “delighted (he sent a dirty look at Baekhyun here) to finally (another dirty look) meet you”.
While Baekhyun just rolled his eyes at his behaviour, you subtly covered your giggle with a hand in front of your mouth. This bickering was more cute than offending and Baekhyun’s description of a “spoiled kid” suddenly made very much sense to you.
“By the way, y/n also thinks that nobody will ever discover your shop” Baekhyun teased with his characteristic cheeky grin.
“Not true. I know, because people already have discovered our shop. Where is the fun when everybody can just see where the shop is? It’s so much more special and exciting when word about that super-cool, hidden record store has to get around first.”
By the tone in Chanyeol’s voice and the sparks lighting in his eyes, you could tell that there was most likely nothing that could change his mind on that.
“But you know that the initial idea behind the shop was to make profit, not to create a hide-and-seek-game for music geeks!”
“Come on, Baekhyun, you sound like Junmyeon now. Don’t pretend you wouldn’t love the adventure of discovering a great record store you’ve only heard rumours about before!”
Even with your superficial knowledge of Baekhyun you knew that Chanyeol was probably right.
“Yes, but at least I understand Junmyeon’s point!”
“I do too, I just don’t particularly care.”
“You are impossible!”
“Yeah, you knew that before.”
Defeated Baekhyun let out a little huff.
“Anyway, I still need a present for Yixing’s birthday. Somehow, Junmyeon teamed up with Minseok and Jongdae to get something for him together this year. Do you guys have anything besides new guitar strings I could get him?”
“Oh, it’s Yixing’s birthday soon?” you chimed back in the conversation, former discussion, that you’ve been watching with great amusement. This was actually the first time you heard about the birthday of any of the guys and you’ve been dying to somehow return the favour of a birthday present, since the cake they had prepared for you.
“Right, the party is on October 7 at the café. Feel free to join, I’m sure Yixing will be happy to see you there” Baekhyun confirmed.
“I’ll be sure to make an appearance” you promised and developed the idea of using your drawing and painting skills for a self-made gift right away. Maybe something with a floral theme would be fitting? But before you could get too much into your thoughts, Chanyeol approached you again.
“And… have you found anything interesting here yet?”
“Sure. And I love the little descriptions! They make everything sound interesting” you admitted.
“I wrote most of them, so thank you!” he grinned.
“Feel free to check out some records you’re interested in. You’ll find record players all around the shop. Sehun will show you, while I outline our birthday present plan to Baekhyun so he can join us in the preparations” Chanyeol added, before leaving with Baekhyun to a room even more in the back.
Sehun, who didn’t seem to be as talkative as his friends that just left, cleared his throat.
“Well… lead the way, I’ll be your shadow. I can also answer some questions if you have any.”
“Sounds good!” you smiled at him and walked into the main room of the store again, pointing at records you wanted to give a listen to, asking questions about the group or if you didn’t knew what some genres with the most unusual titles even sounded like.
By giving you tips and answers Sehun started to open up more and more towards you as well and the two of you fell into a light conversation about music, cover art and anything else that came to your minds.  After what felt like only ten minutes to you but was actually more than an hour already, you were pretty sure you’d find Christmas presents for every person you knew the music taste of in here. You had just asked Sehun for paper and pencil and made a list which records to purchase, when your gaze fell on the clock on the wall and you realized how late it was.
Your friends had probably not arrived yet but your plan to be done with cooking when they would arrive was definitely ruined now.
“I’m so sorry for not buying anything, I will come back very soon. I promise. But I really have to go home now and at least start preparing the food for my friends and me. It was really nice getting to know your shop and you guys, Sehun. Please also tell Chanyeol, ok?” you said while hurriedly putting on your still clammy coat.
Mentally cursing yourself for being so easily persuaded to follow Baekhyun here, you closed the yellow door behind you. You should have known that this shop would have the same effect as the other two on you, keeping you close like a magnet.
Fortunately, it didn’t rain anymore. In fact, the storm itself seemed to have passed entirely, only leaving a slight breeze and the smell of rain in the air behind.
You spared one last gaze to the windows of the shop, where you spotted Sehun looking outside the window, right towards you with a somehow satisfied seeming smile. You waved at him one last time before turning around, making your way to the bus stop that would get you home the quickest.
During the ride you felt a bit guilty for leaving Chanyeol and Baekhyun behind without a proper goodbye. You would definitely apologize to them at Yixing’s birthday party. And then buy every Christmas present at the record store. Planning gifts had never been easier.
After another look at the time and a look on the streets where the traffic was even worse than before you decided to call one of your friends, informing them, that you lost track of time and would be home a bit later than planned.
“Hey there. I’m sorry, but I’m only on my way back home now, so please don’t hurry to get to my place. … Yeah, the traffic is horrible. I guess the storm must have messed things up quite a bit. … Oh, I discovered that super-cool record store, pretty close to the grocery store. Very hidden, you really have to look for it to find the entrance. But it’s so worth it, I promise. It was so special and exciting, like an adventure…”

You looked through the scope of your gun again, you should really start using binoculars more often but the scope has always been your favourite, you can get ready to shoot in seconds if something goes wrong. He was still in the office. Another boring day at work. Both for him and for you. You lay down on your back, staring at the sky above. You have been spying on him for more than a month now, hoping he will slip up and you will finally get the information you needed. Any little detail is crucial at this point. You rubbed your eyes. As much as you were used to your job, this guy irritated you to no end. Some days you were even starting to doubt your mission. Was he really the one? You sighed and rolled back to the gun. You put your eye near the lens. You watched him put something in the drawer of his table and close it. Damn it, if you missed something while laying around… He stood up, stretched and went to the window. He looked around and then stared in your direction. Your eyes met for a second and you immediately moved away from the gun to hide. No. No way. It’s impossible. This building is on the opposite side of the street, there is no way he was actually looking at you. You put your hand to your chest, your heart was beating like crazy. Were you actually scared? You slowly crawled back to the gun and peeked through the scope again. He wasn’t there anymore.
“Shit,” you hissed and took your laptop out. You started searching through the cameras you planted before. There was no one in his office, the halls were empty, the elevator as well. You lost him. After watching him for so long you actually managed to lose him.
“This is bad,” you thought. If he’s nowhere in the building, could it be possible that he’s coming here? You quickly shunned that thought away. If he knew your position he would have dealt with you weeks ago. You grabbed your backpack and started shoving all of your equipment in. You took your phone out and dialled a number, getting the suitcase ready for your gun.
“It’s me. Please connect me with the HQ. Team Red. Code 7040589-“ you were saying as you unmounted your sniper from it's stand.
“7040589, huh?” someone spoke behind your back. You were so startled you dropped your phone, ending your call. You turned around. It was him.
“You know it’s getting kind of annoying. How long do you plan to hide in the shadows? If you want something from me, you should just come and get it,” he said, leaning on one of the air conditioners on the roof. He bent down and picked some of your papers up.
“Oh Sehun. Born 1994 04 12. Occupation. Family. Investments. Property…” he started reading through the lists. “Uh oh so scary! You know so much about me,” he mocked.
You were just frozen to your spot which was so unlike you but something about him, especially seeing him here, up close, told you that he’s trouble and dangerous. More dangerous than anything you ever dealt with before. You pinched yourself in the hand to snap yourself out of it. You quickly stood up  and was ready to grab your gun from the case.
“Not so fast, darling,” he said, pointing his pistol at you. “I need you to stay right there.”
He started approaching you and you had to come up with a plan and soon. You can’t leave anything behind because that way you will not only expose yourself but your mission. You quickly ducked down and got your suitcase and backpack, dashing to get a cover behind the conditioners as he fired in your direction. You pressed your back against it and slowly peeked out.
“Hey now, no need to get violent. I just want to talk. In private,” he said, going around you. You looked to the other side. The door leading downstairs was right there. You needed a distraction and as if some kind of higher force was listening to you his phone started ringing. He stopped right on the opposite side of your hiding spot.
“What do you mean where I got off to? I’m on a date,” he started. You took a deep breath and flinging your equipment over your shoulder jumped up and kicked him in the knees and the stomach, making him throw his gun aside in the process. You used the opportunity as he rolled on the ground and ran straight to the stairs. He got to his feet sooner than you expected and collected his things.
“I will call you back. My date is trying to stood me up. How feisty,” he said into the phone, as he wiped the blood dripping down his nose.
You got into the elevator just as the door was about to close. You watched his gaze focus on through the small gap as you began descending.
“She’s in the elevator,” he signalled his men, who were now at his side. “I want her. Bring her to me,” he ordered as he went to the stairway.
You wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible but when the doors opened up at the ground floor, you were welcomed by a bunch of men in suits. You grabbed one of the woman who was nearby and taking your knife out put it to her throat.
“Let me through or she dies,” you said, pushing forward. It seemed they didn’t care much of her as they all pointed their guns at you anyway. You clenched your teeth.
“Do as she says,” Sehun said, coming down the stairs. You turned around to face him and slowly began backing up into the parking lot. Once you were at your car, you practically ripped the door open, threw your things inside and let the woman go, before taking a seat. You started the engine and aligned the rear view mirror before speeding away. You swear you saw him smirk at you as he raised his hand up and waved you goodbye. You noticed he was holding something.
“Fuck,” you shouted, punching the steering wheel but you had no other choice now but drive. You can’t go back.
“Shouldn’t we chase after her, sir?” one of his men asked.
“Why bother?” he said, looking at your phone. “I got everything that I need to know about her right here.”

In which Luhan prefers talking to plants over people, Sehun is a plant-person and Luhan is the prettiest human bean he’s ever seen.
Because I  still can’t get over this. Inspired almost entirely by the cutest gif in the world.
