dobrý den, dobrý večer, přidávám se k 'Speak Your Language Day' od @polish-art-tournament

Škálu žluté jsem poprvý objevila, když jsme dostali na střední zadání napsat rozbor uměleckého díla z libovolného období mezi 19. — 20. stoletím. Už si nepamatuju, jak jsem dospěla ke Kupkovi, ale Škálu žluté jsem našla na random stránce nějaké galerie a byla to láska na první pohled. V rozboru jsem taky mluvila o Kupkově výtvarném vývoji od jeho začátků na Akademii, kde se převážně věnoval realismus, až do jeho vrcholné a pozdní tvorby, kdy se dostal k abstrakci (myslím, že na tomhle obrazu jde celkem dobře vidět jeho první experimentace s abstrakcí). Jeho abstraktní tvorba byla také úzce spjata s hudbou a dala zrod i novému uměleckému směru – orfismu.

Uchvátili mě ty zlatavé barvy a nonšalatní gesto + celkový nádech obrazu. Mohla bych se na něj dívat celý den :)

All of Thra knows the Castle of the Crystal is filled to the brim with beautiful gemstones and weapons made by the finest metals. Most of these high quality resources found within these castle walls can be contributed to a single hard working skeksis, skekMier.

SkekMier spends much of their time away from the castle, too busy with work. Their only company within the mines are their vast crew of hard working Gelflings and Podlings. This Skeksis contents themselves with toiling away at the ground and harvesting Thra’s greatest treasures. Most gems and ores that are dug up within the mines are refined by SkekMier before getting sent off to the castle be used for other projects.

However, some rare occasions, Mier keeps the more unique items to themselves. The Emperor doesn’t need to know about these gems or metals… Not like he visits them anyways! 

Mier is one of few skeksis that still retains the use of their second pair of arms, putting them to great use. Twice the Hands? Twice the pace of the work!

SkekMier commands a small army of Gelfling and Podling miners. While some are exiles from all seven clans, most are born into the company and live their whole lives in the Quarry. They all work alongside with the skeksis. In the tunnels, refining the metals, cutting the gems, and more.  Rarely SkekMier allows their crew to venture away from the mines and more so allows anyone to leave. Less Gelfling means less workers...

Being rather strict, Mier upholds a tight schedule. No one is above punishment. Those who does not comply with a slap across the head and a lengthy lecture about the importance of system structure. However, while strict, SkekMier do in fact have a soft spot for their Gelfling and Podling crew. Most of them have been born and live their lives in the Quarry. SkekMier sometimes is there to witness the births and the miner also witness deaths...

aving spent trine after trine surrounded by them and away from their Skeksis kin, the miner does have a better opinion of the two and quietly disapproves the way their kin thinks. Even to the point of getting into rare heated arguments with their kin. The Skeksis of the Castle may rule Thra but these mines are SkekMier domain and these gelflings are theirs! Still expects them to follow schedule though.

Whenever one of the castle skeksis goes to visit SkekMier, they have to be careful about not interrupting their schedule. Mier will not hesitate throwing fists at their kin too. Most of Thra depends on their work for stone, metals, and gems. This is a very busy and slightly stressed out Skeksis

SkekMier is on neural terms with their urRu, they avoid talking to the other but there is no hatred between the two halves.

Key Notes: -The Echo manifests as psychometric abilities (the ability to gain psychic readings through touching objects or people) that trigger seizures. Because of this, Prei wears gloves 24/7 to avoid touching things with her bare hands. -'Baked Popoto' is her favorite meal. She feasts once or twice a month on this delicacy, which is farmed and prepared by her manservant Oflant. Her choice meal tends to be made of those who will not be missed and sourced from the prison on Aleport. While the meat is a bonus, it's the aether she's after.

-The Kidragora, Podling, is a little creature who follows Prei around as it has grown dependent upon her to feed it and take care of it. Prei has been known to go on a tirade about Podling's whining and screaming, though the kidragora itself is mute and doesn't understand a thing she is saying. It is rather fond of looking at random things that catch its attention, especially when Prei is yelling at it. -Mummy's Little Monster is a morbol seedling snatched from the swamps of the Tangle in Mor Dhona. It may not be illegal (yet) to have one, but the living plant species are known for eating anything and everything while growing so large as to be a danger to persons and creatures that should cross its path. Prei, in the meantime, has found that it serves as an effective way to dispose of the experiments and 'leftovers' that cannot otherwise be destroyed by regular means. That it will eventually outgrow its home and become a danger to everyone is of no matter to Prei.

[Review] The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance: Tactics (PC)

A decent tactics RPG if a bit buggy.

The spinoff prequel show to Jim Henson's 1982 fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal was, like the film itself, a brilliant showcase of puppeteering, production design, and worldbuilding. Like many shows on their service, Netflix did not renew it for another series to follow up on its lingering plot threads, but they did at least commission a tie-in game from American studio BonusXP, who had previously made two Stranger Things games for them before shutting down mid-last year. The only other Dark Crystal game was a Sierra text adventure, which got a highly abbreviated browser-based remaster around the time of the show's broadcast.

As an adaptation of the show, the large cast and themes of rebellion and questing lend themselves well to a tactical RPG, although the reality of this game feels a bit restricted, with compact maps and characters usually limited to four or five per stage. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as I appreciated the manageable scope; I don't have a huge amount of experience with this genre but I know how bloated Wesnoth scenarios can get. The setup for this game is square grids with no zone of control, turn order dictated by a dynamic action timeline, and experience and gear gained between levels. On top of equipment customisation, there's a job system where you can shuffle anyone into any role, although they need to get experience in that job to unlock skills and advance to new sub-jobs.

The character roster again could be considered limited, with a final total of 14 selectable characters (although others join as temporary allies in various scenarios). About half are from the show with the others being OCs who fit in well enough. Most of them are Gelfling, who have the most developed job system with three broad categories of soldiers, scouts, and mages who get further specialised as you progress. Apart from them there are two Podlings and two Fizzgigs, who all have a smaller job pool but can usefully fill niches on your team.

The key art depicts the urRu urVa, but they only appear in one mission as an NPC, and the game's store blurb mentions "familiar faces from the classic film" which is just an outright lie, unless they mean broadly the races and creatures of Thra seen in the film... but I won't concede that. Lacking these kinds of surprise bonus characters, a broader array of the show's cast, or other types of creatures for the playable cast like Arathim or Lore, was a disappointment but I have to accept the realities of a likely budget development and to be fair I had loads of possible characters lingering on the bench anyway given the scale of the battles.

My core team was Deet, for me a versatile offense/healing caster, Brea, a strong healer with other utility spells, Hup, who ended up a beast-summoner/debuffer, and Kylan, a dependable rogue-type. In the mid-late game I tried to switch them all into new basic roles to level into the high-end hybrid jobs, but starting from scratch at that point made them all too weak to get by so I just reverted to their existing specialities and went from there. I played on Normal and found the difficulty to be highly variable, some levels being a walk in the park where others kicked my arse. A few missions had specific objectives or required keeping plot characters alive such that they required quite a few restarts, and that's without the crashes...

I do have to mention the state of the game, which will likely never get an update thanks to the shuttering of the studio. At first I tried to run the Mac version, but it crashed on launch without fail. The PC version at least runs, but had a tendency to crash repeatedly during certain missions. This would lose my progress in that level, since there is no ability to save mid-level (which would also have helped in the more demanding scenarios). A couple of times the game also went into a state of intermittent hanging or stuttering, and for a few of the character jobs it would reliably fail to remember my skill choices, so that I would only be able to fill two out of three available ability slots. Pretty frustrating!

The plot of the game broadly follows the show, although it skips quickly through the first half and the pace slows down for the later episode events. But this is fine, as the two mediums are very different and this works for the pace of the game. I liked when things opened up late in the game and there were a lot of sidequests and scenarios that expanded on events unseen in the show, like doing requests for each of the various Gelfling clans to win their support. The enemies consist of other Gelflings who use the same job system you do, Arathim, and Darkening-afflicted creatures, with a few Podlings and Skeksis boss fights thrown in for good measure... I was kind of expecting Garthim to show up, but I guess they really only appear in a late cliffhanger in the show.

In some senses the game works well as a tie-in to the show, but there are limits to how one is able to capture the charms of the puppetry and production design in a budget 3D video game. Apparently the range of movement of the in-game models is accurate to the puppets themselves, but rendering the characters the way they have, while necessary, does lose something, not to mention the world being built of square tiles for gameplay purposes gives the environments something of an artificial feel. You also sadly lose the show's all-star voice cast, as the game is entirely unvoiced. There are nice hand-drawn cutscenes from time to time which I would compare favourably to the better Dark Crystal comics, but they're few and far between.

Given the technical issues I had in my playthrough I find this game hard to recommend, but I did enjoy the customisation, the strategy of the battles, and the little expansions on the show's story. This definitely works best as a supplement to the show though, as it doesn't do much to flesh out the characters, assuming that the player is familiar with them. It's something to treasure in that it's a rare game based on this marvellous but niche Henson property... just don't expect too much.

Every year, I do a big Gelfling Oc Project. The past two years, I only asked IG because I see more Gelfling Oc posts, and it's kinda easier to manage the number of people than a post on Tumblr that can get pushed farther down my page.

12/15 slots have been filled, and I think 3 (maybe 5 if I'm pushing it) is easier to keep track than 15.

Day Four: Spriton

Here's day four of @the-seven-clans-week !

A drabble of my Spriton-Sifan OC, Jaki and some family lore!

(also it's like..almost midnight here rn writing this so if it looks weirdly written, I apologize)

Jaki held his infant brother's ears closed so he wouldn't hear the yelling and screaming.

The young Spriton sighed as the fight subsided and hugged his brother close, humming gently and letting his brother snuggle close. "I promise..I won't leave you.."

Many trine later, the Spriton~Sifan man named Jaki was working in the Skeksis' castle with his adoptive podling family in the kitchen.

Only to discover..his brother worked as a guard in the castle.

Jaki hadn't seen his brother..in so many trine. He didn't want to leave him, he even tried to come back..but he couldn't due to his father's manipulation of Jaki's half-brother.

He..kept low as to not have his relationship with his half-brother known. But by Thra he wanted to reunite with him.

How he wanted to hug his brother and apologize for leaving, to tell his brother about his travels with his Sifan father's crew, to tell him how much their mother loved the two.

And..cruel fate decided that would happen today when the Captain of the Guard had Jaki's half-brother take him to a Spriton market.

Along the way..things were..tense.

"..I see you dyed your hair. You look like a Sifan," said his half-brother.

"Well I am half Sifan," Jaki replied.

Another pause.

"..How have you bee-"

"Oh, now you ask. Just because Captain Ordon made it so I had to escort you to the market," Jaki's half-brother scoffed.

Jaki frowned and sighed.

"..you're mad. I get it. I would be too, little bro-"

"Do not call me that."

"...Alright then..Tolyn."

The Spriton half brothers..didn't talk for the rest of the trip or even after. Just..stayed away from each other.

Until Jaki overheard Tolyn say something..

"Just goes to show you can't trust a Sifan..now matter how much they look like a Spriton."

Stwierdziłam że skoro zaczynają się wam podobać moje arty mojego Universum z Welcome Hope, to postanowiłam że będę dawała kolejne prace na swój profil, ta postać OC którą tutaj dałam ma na imię Comet i jest on dobrym przyjacielem Rose ze starej trupy aktorskiej, podobnie jak Rose ma 3 stopy wzrostu i posiada niesamowicie duży talent aktorsko-teatralny, on jak i pozostali jego przyjaciele, grał przeróżne role od komedii przez musicale aż po dramaty. Comet z charakteru jest niezwykle sympatyczny, asertywny, energiczny i pewny siebie, zawsze ma jakiś pomysł na dobrą wspólną zabawę z przyjaciółmi, uwielbia wszystko co ma związek z gwiazdami. Comet jako jedyna marionetka z trupy Rose posiada własne, wewnętrzne światło. Powiada się że Comet narodził się z fragmentu spadającego meteorytu w efekcie czego posiada on własny, wewnętrzny blask, ale na szczęście nie jest on w żaden sposób szkodliwy dla innych żywych istot. Comet rzadko używa swojego wewnętrznego światła, robi to tylko w tedy kiedy wymaga tego sytuacja wyjątkowa lub nagły wypadek, jego światło jest zależne od tego jakie napłyną go emocje, kiedy jest szczęśliwy, świeci niesamowicie ciepłym, błękitnym światłem, ale kiedy zawładnie nim wściekłość, zaczyna dosłownie płonąć wściekłą czerwienią. W wytwórni gdzie pracował Comet z przyjaciółmi, był traktowany podle, kiedy usiłował bronić siebie lub kogoś ze swojego grona przyjaciół, był zabierany i zamykany w ciasnej komórce na niemalże cały dzień lub dłużej, Rose jak i reszta przyjaciół byli zdumieni że przez to ciągłe zamykanie w komórce Comet nie nabawił się klaustrofobii, ale jak widać ciężko było złamać jego ducha i silną wolę walki, po wybuchu pożaru w wytwórni Comet został odseparowany od reszty przyjaciół i został wysłany do jakiegoś ośrodka badawczego w celu przeprowadzenia badań, skąd taka niepozorna marionetka posiada własne, wewnętrzne światło. Ale na jego szczęście nie zdołał tam trafić, podczas transportu bardzo późną porą, ciężarówka którą był wieziony Comet, wpadła w karambol samochodowy w efekcie czego ciężarówka jak i inne samochody, doznały poważnego uszkodzenia, uwięziony Comet zdołał się uwolnić ze skrzyni w której był przetrzymywany i uciec przez uszkodzone drzwi ciężarówki. Inaczej mówiąc, przez to że wszyscy inni ludzie byli zaaferowani wypadkiem, nikt nie zauważył jak Comet zdołał się uwolnić i uciec, znikając w gęstym lesie. Dzielna marionetka przez wiele dni błąkała się po leśnej gęstwinie, przeszedł przez góry i znalazł się w przedziwnie kolorowym lesie, choć był mocno wyczerpany to zdołał znaleźć drogę prowadzącą do The Neigborhood, ale niestety traci on przytomność na piaszczystym gruncie, nieprzytomnego Comet odnajdują Wally razem z Barnabą i zabierają go do Franka, potem Rose i Annet dowiadują się od Wally' ego o odnalezionym przyjacielu i starają się odnowić stare relacje i przyjaźń, a razem z nowymi przyjaciółmi z The Neigborhood, Comet zaczyna przyzwyczajać się do nowego, spokojnego życia i tak jak Rose oraz Annet, zadomawia się w The Neigborhood, zaczyna też nawiązywać głębsze relacje z Sally, najwyraźniej te 2 zbłąkane gwiazdy zostały sobie przeznaczone.

Co sądzicie o mojej postaci OC jakim jest Comet? Chętnie poznam wasze opinie w komentarzach.

I decided that since you are starting to like my works of my Universe from Welcome Hope, I decided to post more works on my profile, this OC character that I added here is called Comet and he is a good friend of Rose from the old acting troupe, just like Rose he is 3 feet tall and has an incredibly great acting and theater talent, he, like his other friends, played various roles from comedies through musicals to dramas. Comet's character is extremely nice, assertive, energetic and self-confident, he always has some idea for a good time with friends, he loves everything that has to do with stars. Comet is the only puppet from Rose's troupe with her own inner light. It is said that Comet was born from a fragment of a falling meteorite, as a result of which it has its own internal glow, but fortunately it is in no way harmful to other living beings. Comet rarely uses his inner light, he only does it when an emergency or emergency situation requires it, his light depends on what emotions come to him, when he is happy he glows with an incredibly warm blue light, but when he is overcome with rage he starts literally burn furiously red. At the studio where Comet and his friends worked, he was treated badly when he tried to defend himself or someone in his circle, he was taken away and locked in a tight cell for almost a whole day or more, Rose and the rest of his friends were amazed that because of this constant locking in Comet's cell did not develop claustrophobia, but as you can see, it was difficult to break his spirit and strong will to fight, after a fire broke out in the factory, Comet was separated from the rest of his friends and was sent to some research center to conduct research on how such an inconspicuous puppet has his own, inner light. But luckily for him, he did not manage to get there, during transport very late at night, the truck in which Comet was transported got into a car collision, as a result of which the truck and other cars suffered serious damage, the trapped Comet managed to free himself from the box in which he was kept and escape through the damaged truck door. In other words, because everyone else was preoccupied with the accident, no one noticed how Comet managed to break free and escape, disappearing into the dense forest. The brave puppet wandered through the forest thicket for many days, he went through the mountains and found himself in a strangely colorful forest, although he was very exhausted, he managed to find the way leading to The Neigborhood, but unfortunately he loses consciousness on the sandy ground, the unconscious Comet is found by Wally and Barnabas and take him to Frank, then Rose and Annet learn from Wally about their found friend and try to renew old relationships and friendship, and together with new friends from The Neigborhood, Comet begins to get used to a new, peaceful life and just like Rose and Annet settle into The Neigborhood and begin to establish a deeper relationship with Sally, apparently these two stray stars were destined for each other.

Běžet za ledovým sluncem - fotodokumentace

Mám chřipečku, to znamená, že nemám náladu a myšlenky na psaní a zároveň se nudím. Trochu jsem si pohrávala s generátorem obrázků podle zadaných slov a vytvořila něco málo “fotek” týkajících se Slunce. Meeting SkekNor:

Note: This is for a good friend of mine in the fandom called Limbo for Eternal Love: A Dark Crystal AU. I will be adding their Oc to my story as I thought it would be a nice shoutout and I wanted to see what they thought of meeting SkekSha and the other Skeksis for the first time. This would also be a preview for an upcoming chapter in my story.

A few days after her encounter with Aughra, SkekSha is sitting on her throne. SkekSo had sent a message to some Vapra Gelfling known as the Merchant and their honored “guest” as really SkekSo wanted to drain them of their essence. However, what the Skeksis weren’t expecting was that this Gelfling was no Gelfling. From the moment the guest walked into the throne room however, SkekSha realized right away that this Gelfling was no Gelfling at all but another Skeksis. A Skeksis that none of the Skeksis at the Castle recognized. SkekLi who had now been announcing SkekSha to visitors to the Castle and who had been acting as her new bodyguard in SkekNa’s place stated "You stand in the presence of SkekSha of the Skeksis. Mate to Emperor SkekSo and Mother to his heirs Princess SkekZi, SkekVrie the First Lieutenant, SkekNi the Healer and SkekVex the Overseer. The Empress of the Skeksis.”

This new Skeksis was clearly nervous from the moment she walked into the room as she bowed respectfully and said “Your Grace! It is wonderful to finally meet you. Of course back then I had no idea who you were.” SkekSha then said with a kind smile as some of the other Skeksis looked at the newcomer with much interest “What is your name?” To which the female Skeksis said “My name is SkekNor your Grace.” SkekSha then called “Podlings!” Causing two Podling servants to come bumbling out at once as she said “This poor Skeksis looks famished. Please get her something to eat.” The Podlings nodded and immediately ran off to the kitchento prepare some food for the Merchant as SkekSha stated to SkekSil, SkekVar, SkekZok, SkekLach, SkekOk, SkekEkt and SkekLi “Skeksis this new friend of ours should be given a proper welcome. SkekEkt please make some robes for SkekNor.” Causing SkekEkt to reply as she bowed “Yes your Grace, I will work on new robes for SkekNor at once.” Before she went off to start making SkekNor some better clothing as SkekSha said “Tell me SkekNor have you ever tasted Gelfling essence before?” SkekNor then said with reply “No your Grace I haven't. I’ve been living amongst Gelfling ever since I can remember. Why would I ever consider consuming their essence?” SkekZieZu answered “Because to live here at the Castle with us you’ll need to learn our ways. Recently we’ve been consuming Gelfling essence as our bodies have been decaying and failing. It’s helped us restore our youth. You should really try some.” Then SkekZi walked up and handed SkekNor a bottle of essence as SkekSha stated “That is my eldest daughter SkekZi. She brings you a serving of essence to try. I promise you won’t regret it and you’ll feel really good.” After sniffing it and then cautiously taking a sip SkekNor just like the others couldn't help herself but drink the whole bottle as she said feeling much more youthful “You were right your Grace. It does taste really good and I also feel so much younger.”

Just then SkekSo walked into the throne room and said hearing all the commotion as he walked towards his throne “What’s going on darling?” To which SkekSha replied “Emperor, you know that Vapran Gelfling you asked for?” Causing him to nod as she stated “Well…the Merchant is no Gelfling but is in fact another one of us.” SkekSo then laid his eyes on SkekNor and stated "Hmm…intriguing.” SkekNor immediately bowed with respect as she said growing nervous as she was quite scared of him having heard from the Gelfling of SkekSo’s nature especially his protective nature around SkekSha “Emperor, I’m grateful to be in your presence.” Unlike SkekSha though SkekSo was a lot more direct and to the point as he said with a light growl “What is your name Merchant?” Causing SkekNor to reply nervously as she shifted just a little out of nervousness “SkekNor your highness.” Wanting to know why she hadn't shown herself to the other Skeksis before SkekSo said as he eyed her up clearly trying to establish his authority over her from the start as he said “Why haven't you shown up here before SkekNor?” To which she replied “Honestly I had no idea that there were other Skeksis besides myself your highness. I grew up amongst the Vapra and was accepted into a family of Gelfling. I saw your mate once on what I assume now would of been one of her many trips to meet with the All-Madura and was taken back by how beautiful she was and still is. I also saw SkekUng once when I was younger but he scared me quite a bit unlike your mate. I heard about the rumors circulating throughout the Gelfling about our race being traitors and I came to the conclusion that I had to bring myself before you and your court as I knew Gelfling would start growing suspicious of me as well and I probably wouldn't be safe amongst them for much longer so I left my Gelfling family. They were heartbroken when I left but since they did love me very much they knew it was probably the best option for me. I understand now that our race is my true family. If you don’t accept me though I understand. I know you all have your ranks established and wouldn't want to get in the way if it’s a bother to you.” Feeling touched by SkekNor’s story SkekSha stated “Of course we welcome you to live amongst us SkekNor. The more allied with each other we are the better our future will be. Isn’t that right Sire?” As she looked to SkekSo hoping that her mate would accept their new friend even though she knew he would be suspicious of her as she’d have to earn her place amongst them just as all the other Skeksis did and SkekSo said with a growl “Darling may I remind you that we’ve only just met this Skeksis. We don’t know a whole lot about her and wether or not we could trust her.” Trying to win favor with SkekSo and show that she can be useful SkekNor stated “Emperor let me prove myself to you. Allow me to serve under your mate for a while.” Immediately growing protective over his mate however SkekSo says with a growl again “Absolutely not!” SkekSha though states liking the idea “Oh babe come on you are being ridiculous. I would love to have help from another female Skeksis. Sometimes female Skeksis feel the most comfortable talking to other females about certain things that a male wouldn’t understand.” SkekSo then grumbled slightly before he stated “Fine! SkekNor I will allow you to serve under my beautiful mate as you suggested however if you give me any reason at all to believe you a threat especially to her then I won't be as reasonable and you will be punished severely. Surely you are aware that I am not at all merciful to those that displease me.” To which SkekNor nods as she said in reply “Yes Emperor I understand.”

SkekSo then stated his terms with her as he said “You will take care of the Empress’s needs as she requests of you. You will help her get ready in the morning, help her dress and whatever else she requires assistance with. In return you will have a much better roof over your head and a meal every night with us. Is that understood?” Causing the Merchant to reply "Yes your highness I accept your terms and conditions. I will prove my worth to you and all the other Skeksis here in court that I belong here.” Afterwards, SkekSo answered “Good, your duty starts from this moment on. Be assured that I’ll be keeping an eye on you.” She then bows as she replied “Yes Emperor, with haste.” Before she went over and stood by SkekSha’s throne. SkekSha then said with a whisper “Don’t worry, he’ll warm up to you. Right now with the possibility of a Gelfling Resistance growing he’s under a lot more stress then usual. He also worries about me a lot so don’t take it the wrong way, you’ll be a permanent figure in court in due time.” Making SkekNor state in reply “Thank you your Grace.” Causing SkekSha to reply “Please call me by name. You don’t need to address me formally all the time. I’m not my mate when it comes to formality in court.” Only for SkekNor to reply “It’s no problem your Grace really. But if you are alright with it then I’ll call you however you want me to.” SkekSha then said trying to make SkekNor feel better knowing she was probably a little stressed out and nervous “I think you’ll be a wonderful addition to the court SkekNor.” To which SkekNor said with a light blush having not expected such a compliment from such a high ranking Skeksis “Thank you your Grace.” Causing SkekSha to smile as it seemed as though SkekNor was slowly making herself at home.
