Today on the spring equinox our new album 'Never The Same Way Twice' makes it's way into the World. The album is a collection of previously unreleased recordings to mark twenty years since the release of our self-titled debut album. Two decades is a long time and the over-riding emotion I have for this album is one of gratitude, to those who have supported our music and everyone that has taken time to listen. In particular I am so very grateful to all the amazing musicians who have given their time and talents to make The Memory Band what is is, I am forever in their debt. There is not the space to thank everyone who has been part of the band but the people who perform on this album are as follows: John Andrews, Liam Bailey, Liza Bec, Alex Bonney, Helene Bradley, Olie Brice, Jonny Bridgwood, Findlay Brown, Dee Byrne, Hannah Caughlin, Olivia Chaney, Howard Cottle, Al Doyle, Sam Genders, Adem Ilhan, Lisa Knapp, Jennymay Logan, Simon Lord, Paul McGee, Rhys Morgan, Tom Page, Polly Paulusma, Jeremy Radway, Lucy Railton, Jess Roberts, Quinta, Sarah Scutt, Rob Spriggs, Serafina Steer, Alexis Taylor, Fred Thomas, Jon Thorne and Nancy Wallace. You are all marvellous March hares.

Music Meme
.@cherlaine-kimaira tagged me to share my recent playlist.
Fair warning, guys, but I’m so behind the time with music.  I listen mostly to NPR in the car and most of my music love comes from TV Shows or Fan Videos.
1) Something Just Like This by Coldplay.  Mostly because of this cute Olicity vid.
2) Time is Running Out by Muse  I remember when Muse was like, the soundtrack of my fandom circle.  It was awesome.
3) King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men.  Again, cool Olicity video!
4) Fingers and Thumbs by Polly Paulusma.  Such a sexy, sweet song.  Excellent lyric poetry. Came to me by way of The X-files fandom.  I don’t think it really fits Olicity.
5) So I listen to the YoYo Ma station on Spotify when I’m working and it always opens with the Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major by Bach. And it always makes me think of The West Wing.
Also on Spotify, I have a playlist for The Love Thieves that I listen to to get me in the mood (but not often when I’m actually writing because lyrics mess me up at times), so the next couple will come from that.
6) Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation because SPOILERS.
7) It’s Only Love by Heather Nova.  A nice play on the themes of the story.
8) Spies by Coldplay.  This fits the series so well, and I can totally see an Olicity AU fanvideo being made to it.  It really helps me get into the groove for the story when I’ve had to be away from it for a while.
Last two come from the Atomic Blonde sound track, because it was an awesome movie and the music is exactly what my mom used to play when I was super impressionable.
9) Blue Monday by New Order. How does it feel?
10) Cat People (Putting Out Fire) by David Bowie.  Oh, god you guys!  The opening of the movie!  Where it’s all black and white and cold and then the fire starts and the color comes up... IT IS SUCH A PRETTY MOVIE!

Stomping On Stages
A quick note to remind y'all of 2 lovely shows I'm playing this week.
30th October - I'll be playing at the Green Note in Camden, a gem of a venue. Intimate, run by great people, always a nice atmosphere. Better still, I'll be playing with my labelmates - Stylusboy and Polly Paulusma. There are no advance tickets available, but there'll be some at the door. My Dad's coming 'n all. He's a good laugh.
31st October - Heading south of the river for a free show at The Pelton Arms in Greenwich with The Icarus Club. Always a great lineup, and a great pub. If you've not got Halloween plans, do come along.
And speaking of Halloween plans, y'all should come to Kill The Beast Theatre's Black Market Ball on 2nd November. It'll be dark and twisted and hilarious. It's also free. Ruddy free.
Hope you're enjoying the storm. Fuck all going on here.

8, 21, 27, and 29 for the ask thing :D
8. what musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime?
Vienna Teng, Nightwish, Polly Paulusma, and Vanessa Carlton, probably in that order?
21. do you love easily?
Well… hmm. I am sort of overflowing with like, a general love of humanity, which I will project onto any random person I meet. I have a big heart! But as for falling IN love easily, or making a deep interpersonal connection with an individual easily? Not so much. I’ve only been in love twice.
27. do you feel like your outside appearance is a fair representation of the “real you”?
No. It’s difficult for me to dress and maintain my appearance to my ideal standard. Also I’m kinda small and scrawny but have a big personality, which I think throws people off. When I do get up the effort to dress the way I want to, I think my clothes show my personality, though. I’m a very eclectic dresser.
29. three songs that you connect with right now.
Non-Stop from Hamilton - love the ideal of writing like your life depends on it. I am that writer without being that writer.
Field of Hopes & Dreams from Deltarune - I love the amazing feeling this song gives. It’s like running through rolling waves of grass as a cool wind blows. It just has this relentless, glorious motion to it, which somehow isn’t frantic, but like gliding. It tells a story without speaking in any way. It’s so freaking good. Thank u Toby Fox.
Rainbow by Sia - When is Sia ever not awesome? I just love the artistry of her music and the videos that she combines them with. They always evoke some kind of feeling past what the song alone can do.
Thanks for asking! Enjoy the music! :)
