Starting a thread for myself of theories and ideas about tmp. Gonna update it as I listen to episodes.

I’ve listened to 11 as if this first post. Also I think it goes without saying but there will be spoilers here, I might not have a ton of info but I do have and reference stuff in the episodes

Jon/chester/computer bois:

I think that Jon is using the cameras and things to see and listen, which is why he’s able to give statements that are very close to what’s happening with the characters.

Also I think he is trapped, but idk if he’ll ever get out. Maybe if he and Martin get out then Jonah Magnus can too so they’ll have to choose.

I wonder if they’ll be the same if they escape?

Or if there is a jon and Martin in the world too?

The entities:

-I saw someone else say this (don’t remember who or where tho) but I think that when the web and Jon pulled the entities thru the crack in reality in tma, they got squished and melted together.

- It would explain why statements often multiple fears now.

- They are so squished/interwoven that they litterally can’t separate.

Can they still do rituals/summonings?

Alice

-Another thing I saw but makes so much sense. Alice used to hold Lena’s job/she’s secretly the boss-boss of OIAR

-would explain why she and Lena got the message that Sam was trying to access restricted files.

-I mean why would Alice of all people see that. Lena make sense but Alice would only see it if she had the same kind of access

-also It might not end up being canon but I want Alice, Sam and Gwen to end up together as a poly. The whole scene with the mocha and Alice being confused but not hostile to Gwen was sweet and I want more of that trio

Celia

-I think she and the others who weren’t in any fear domains were brought here, so Georgie and Melanie could be there too.

-Would also explain why she seems to know more about the archives that most, cause she would have heard about them from those two.

-Maybe she ends up in random places regularly hence the ‘not again’ because the world recognizes she isn’t supposed to be there

-or she’s like Micheal. Tma 198 did reveal that the cult was taken back to their domains, maybe Micheal/something like him got to her before the end?

So she’d be able to jump around with doors. Probably not on purpose tho.

-either theory explains why she’s looking into dimensions and space and physics things

Lena/OIAR

-I think that when Jon and Martin and Jonah and the fears came through, they came through at a different time but same space. The explosion from the gas destroying the building would have been brought over at the same time and thus destroyed the archives in this world

-and maybe if it was an important place for the eye/the eye is ‘staying’ there/leftover energy from the panopticon, maybe thats why redcanary was so affected and pulled out their eyes. They were forced to by some kind of eye powers

-so with that, I think OIAR formed to document what changes came about after the fears came through. And their database doesn’t work with the fears separately cause they aren’t separate any more

-I haven’t figured out what Lena’s deal is yet, I just think she’s aware of the fears in someway and uses them/avatars/whatever the monsters would be called now to control the amount of fear being spread

So I was looking up ATLA fics where Yue lives and I went through all of the potential Yue ships on there, and man am I boring.

I only really ship her with Zuko (contrasts and parallels), Sokka (canon as the right person in the wrong lifetime), Suki (seeming total opposites with the same tastes, meaning they likely have more in common than one might think), or her just being poly with some combination of these three or all three of them.

Though I am bewildered that there doesn't seem to be a dedicated Sokka/Suki/Yue tag at the very least, even though I've read multiple fics with that ship. It seems like the authors are instead just tagging Sokka/Suki, Sokka/Yue, and Suki/Yue, but they're a trio in the fic?

IDK there's a dedicated tag for Sokka/Yue/Zuko, so I don't know why there's no Sokka/Suki/Yue tag.

She almost got married off to a guy she wasn't interested in, and he wasn't interested in her, at least not in an actual loving relationship kind of way. Let the girl live, with her two husbands and wife, who're goofy well meaning badasses.

The rest of this gets kind of long and is just me rambling about the Yue ships I don't like.

I don't ship Yue and Katara, because I do just see Katara as straight, I just can't see her with any girls. I only really even ship Katara with Aang, and like Jet as bitter exes who only tolerate each other enough to not want the other dead or seriously harmed. I didn't even really ever get into Katara being with Haru the way I know some people did. I don't ship Yue with Azula because Azula doesn't need a relationship she needs therapy. My only Azula ship is Azula/Healing. Her being in a romantic relationship as she is in canon is going to end with pain for everyone involved.

I don't ship her with Jet, because Jet's an ass and Yue deserves better after growing up in the misogynist hellscape that was the pre-Katara North Pole. Even if we're talking about redeemed Jet, he's still an ass, that's just his personality. He'd also need some serious therapy before I'd ever want to picture him dating.

I don't ship Yue with any of the adult characters, because we only ever know her as a recently turned 16 year old, before she dies and becomes a spirit. So trying to picture her with any of the adult characters instantly makes me feel like that one doofenshmirtz meme where he blasts away the guy on a motorcycle with an inator because he flirts with Vanessa.

I don't ship Yue with Aang or Toph. The age gap is a touch too big in the show which is where I primarily see them depicted as I never got into LoK, and only Toph even appears in that.

I personally head canon that Toph isn't into commitment, at least not like the marriage kind. She definitely has a few different lovers over the course of her lifetime, but she's married to her job and of course earthbending.

Toph enjoys the company of companions, but she enjoys her own company just as much, if not more a pretty good chunk of the time. I see her as maybe aromantic, or at least somewhere on the spectrum.

While Aang's been interested in Katara since he came out of the ice berg. And within a few weeks I feel like he was at least subconsciously more or less set on someday becoming Airbending Master Aang, Husband of Waterbending Master and Master Healer Katara of the Southern Water Tribe, who just happens to also be the Avatar.

From here on is basically my rambling about a Warless AU and my thoughts on that:

If the war actually failed during the original attack on the air temples, and Sozin got dethroned by his sister or one of her still living supporters... So the 100 year war and Air Nomad genocide never happened, but because Aang runs away before the attacks, he still gets frozen and then reawakens in in Katara's time.

Anyways, I'm almost certain Aang would have made his eventual goal in that timeline be becoming Katara's house husband. Or at least as close as someone literally nomadic like Aang is could manage.

Also, I know people ship Aang with other people, like Toph, or Azula, or Zuko, but I'm sorry I just don't see it. Katara is the love of Aang's lifetime. I mean they got married, which I'm pretty sure is something that wasn't even part of Air Nomad culture back before the decimation.

The only married Air Nomads I know of from canon are Aang, his son Tenzin, and Avatar Kyoshi's mom, who left the Air Nomads to get married. So I'm totally convinced Aang just altered Air Nomad culture so he could be Katara's husband.

I'm honestly convinced that if the Air Nomads survived and he didn't have the duty of restoring Air Nomad culture, Aang would have left the order the way Kyoshi's mom did to be able to marry Katara.

They’re all T-posed because they’re unrigged. But anyway, from left to right these are season one Zuko, The Blue Spirit, Ba Sing Se Zuko, Beach Zuko, Gaang Zuko, Fire Lord Zuko, and XD00Zuko. And the big fella in the back is Gigantimax Zuko. I recorded myself modeling and texturing all of these and plan on posting them as speedmodeling videos, and today I plan on modeling all of my planned Azula variants.

This is the project I’ve been working on. :DD It’s a project that I’ve wanted to work on for a while tbh. I’m gonna make a bunch of low poly models of the ATLA cast. :D When I'm done, I plan on releasing them for download. I plan on making them available in packs though, because if I wait until every single model is done, none of them will be released. lol For each model I plan on doing multiple texture/material variations including different expressions. I also plan on doing "shiny" pallet variants, shadow, dynamax and for some specific characters gigantimax and XD001 inspired design variations. Because Pokemon.

Hey i saw some posts on here kind of shitting on people who want better representation in media, or who headcanon characters as trans? Idk how old the posts are, just wondering.

I THINK I know which posts you’re talking about?

So since it’s 2 topics I’ll address individually. First is representation. In general I’m fine with it. I’m fine with people wanting it. Fuck dude, I would LOVE to see a healthy poly relationship in a book for example. What I’m NOT okay is people DEMANDING representation. I’m not okay with people reading a book or playing a video game or watching a series and whining “why weren’t they like THIS instead of THAT?” and acting as if they’re entitled to representation. No one is. Encourage it. Write fanfics, make headcanons you share and enjoy with others who like the headcanon. But demanding a writer, an artist, a maker of any medium to bend to what you want? No. I draw the line there.

Not only that but there’s been an increase in female and queer representation in mainstream media. Great right? Except a lot of it is done poorly and even when you put that aside it’s “not enough”. What is enough then? When you, a random person says it is? Who gave you the right? No one. Instead of going “Hell yeah, x character is great!” and finding positivity in it they go “but why isn’t there moooore!”. Again, a very entitled attitude. A very demanding mentality that restricts creators in order to be PC. Just like how free speech is for everyone, everyone should be allowed to create whatever they want.

On to the second one. Headcanons. Like I said; I generally don’t care. A headcanon is a headcanon. I’m NOT okay with people insisting their headcanon IS CANON. I see it done a lot in fandoms of all kinds. They also bully people who don’t support their headcanon. Unless you are the creator, a headcanon is just that; something you yourself feel the character likes, does or is. But beyond that you have no right to demand others to share your headcanon, demand creators to act of said headcanons (SU and BBC's Sherlock are good examples of this) and you do not get to insist your headcanon is actual canon. If someone thinks X character is trans I don’t give a shit. If you INSIST they’re trans and it’s canon when it’s not, THEN I’m gonna roll our the red carpet on you.

As a writer, headcanons being shoved as “canon” is a touchy subject for me. I invested months of thought, energy and love into my proverbial children. I know if, say, after reading Red Comet someone went “nah, Princess Weilai is a lesbian. Sorry I don’t make the rules uwu” or “Zenshou is secretly trans! It’s canon guys!” or gave Yun dark skin because “POC representation guys!” even though literally 90% of the population IS what we’d call POC, I’d be pissed as hell. These are MY character, MY kids. Who are you to tell ME what my own canon is? To flounce around the interwebs saying your headcanon is the official canon? It disrespectful to the author. Headcanon all you want. But the moment you say it’s canon or bully others into accepting your headcanon or “you’re a -phobe!” you crossed the line to me.

All of it boils down to entitled attitudes with regards to creation and media. No one owes you anything. No one has to make a character or story or relationship to your needs and wants. If the burning need is so intense make your own. I’ve seen some amazing fan stories and spin-offs with the rep they wanted in the canon series. They built the canon series up without acting entitled. In fact, some of the spin-off stories of Avatar I’ve seen should seriously be made real; they’re that good! I always encourage people to make their own things to build up good, positive representation in media for whatever group is concerned. I’m fine with headcanons, sharing fanfics and art and stories around it. But the moment you demand something. The moment you ignore the integrity of an established character to shove an agenda and call it canon? That’s when I’m not okay.

As a side note; my stances have not changed. These are things I’ve felt for a while. Seems to me like you’re not terribly happy with them. Granted, I could have worded them better. I’ll admit that. But they haven’t changed. Sorry to disappoint you.

A Summary of My Fics in 2018

I found this post lying around and apparently I forgot to post it two weeks ago at the New Year’s when I first made it, so. Here’s a list of the fics I wrote in 2018, with some musings etc.

Animorphs

on a night like this one (1952 words)--A Cassie/Rachel fic written for the Smut Exchange in April, so not a whole lot of plot! I was inspired by a prompt asking for Cassie as the gentle dom, which seemed like such an interesting concept.

falcon falcon, burning bright (2264 words)--Written for Bad Things Happen Bingo in June, a fic about Visser Three capturing Jake. The square I wrote it for was “The Collector”.

Whales and Dolphins and Humans and Yeerks (1416 words)--A Cassie/Aftran fic. Written on one of those probably-too-frequent occasions I opened for femslash prompts. I’d kind of always wanted to write some Caftran? But never got around to it bc I have too many damn fandoms. (...fandamns.)

Avatar: The Last Airbender

...wow, I wrote six fics for this fandom this year. Guess it was more of an ATLA year than I thought.

Largely bc of keircatenation, btw, who sent me a couple very nice prompts.

Kyoshi Wood (This Bird Has Flown) (1726 words)--Dysfunctional Tyzula fic, the first ATLA fic I have ever posted on AO3 (...though I have in the past posted a number on ff.net). Written because I listened to the song “Norwegian Wood” and instantly thought, “Welp, that’s a Tyzula vibe.” The first ATLA fic I wrote this year and it was already July...guess my ATLA content has been all in the past five months.

** every feudal lord needs a loyal handmaiden (13883 words)--Moooore Tyzula! This fic was for the Femslash After Dark Exchange in July which should make it more smutty than it is! But I figure the mature rating is justified by the various dark goings-on. Anyways, this is basically me writing the political intrigue Tyzula fic of my dreams, which is how it got so damn long. I’m quite happy with it.

a snow fight (1660 words)--...and I’m not happy with this one! I was prompted “No holds barred beatdown” for Zuko in Bad Things Happen Bingo and I tried my best but I think I just wasn’t in the right headspace. Came out kind of eh.

changing, losing, staying (3906 words)--Written when I opened for femslash prompts and received the prompt  "'I can't afford to lose you too' + Suki/Ty Lee". Postcanon, pretty chill, longer than I expected it to be by the time I was done.

** because it would be a waste (1891 words)--Brief Azutara fic for the prompt of  "Azula/Katara, set in a Bad Future AU where Azula is Fire Lord and Katara is her Favorite Prisoner." Written in November.

A Diplomatic Mission and Its Results (2483 words)--I was prompted diplomacy and Suki/Sokka/Toph for some poly event and I did my best! Never really thought about this ship before.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (TV)

** Mhaacta Made Them Do It (3631 words)--Amy/Rosa treat for the Femslash After Dark Exchange, featuring ritual sex and an ELDRITCH ABOMINATION. ...technically a case fic.

Caper Court - Caro Fraser

the pupil of dover court (1543 words)-- I found this book series thru the Yuletide Exchange but only had time (...well, access, really) to read the first book. But I quite liked it and wrote a treat for the person requesting it for the exchange.

Catherine (Web Series)

there's something about catherine (1299 words)-- Another fandom I found through the Yuletide Exchange! This requester wanted some Lynchian Normcore femslash so I did my best to provide. Very easy fandom to get into, btw, webseries is less than an hour long.

** Amor Vincit Omnia (3231 words)--Maleficent/Philip Stockholm Syndrome fic, written as a treat for the Chocolate Box Exchange. 

No one will hurt you (1166 words)--Inspired by a short comic by @disneyfemslashcomics​, a Mulan/Jasmine fic featuring hurt/comfort and a nonbinary Mulan.

** #  Old and stolen texts (2635 words)--A Belleficent fic I wrote bc idk I like Maleficent and I like Belle and the two seemed like a good ship for Stockholm Syndrome and, obviously, beauty and the beast scenarios. Quite proud of this one :)

Dollhouse

I wrote five fics for this fandom this year but I still think I kind of cooled on it. For one thing, two of those fics were assigned for exchanges--for another, last year, with little to no incentive of that kind, I wrote seven. Still had a good time this year tho.

Also, all of them were pretty dark! We’re not surprised.

** i'll take your mind (to kick around as a toy) (3095 words)--Adelle/Echo fic written for the Trope Bingo Challenge, for a square of “in another man’s shoes”. Longer than I had remembered!

Orientation (3881 words)--Possibly my darkest fic of the year, but I’m sure it’s debatable. Blatant rape/non-con between Bennett Halverson and Caroline Farrell, written for the Nonconathon Exchange.

taking turns (2008 words)--Lighter in the sense that it’s melancholy rather than dark as hell. A Claire and Topher fic written for the Remix Revival event, remixing a fic I greatly enjoyed.

Danseuse and Partner (1172 words)-- I got paired with someone for the Chocolate Box Exchange who requested soft and fluffy fic for Cassie/Jake, but at that time I had no fluffy Animorph feelings so I binge-watched this miniseries so I could fill their other request, which was domestic, relatively functional incest fic. Idk if I succeeded, it was an interesting prompt but I didn’t ship it. I was more vibing with the series’ femslash potential. But I never got around to writing for that.
