You’d said it once so sweetly, curled up beside her in bed, fingers tracing patterns across her skin with your head on her shoulder. “I don’t want to outlive you.” And she hadn’t laughed or brushed it off like she does with most things. She’d kissed your forehead and made up her mind. No more cigarettes.

Tossed out her pack in the morning.

Of course, it’s not easy. Her job is hell. Late-night surgeries, endless paperwork, and really the only doctor in Jujutsu society. But instead of slipping out for a smoke, she finds a new kind of comfort.

Whenever the tension starts to creep in, she closes her office door and pulls you into her lap with a sigh. “Help me out a little, baby?” she murmurs, already lifting your shirt with those cold, gentle fingers. You don’t even question it anymore. You just smile and let her settle in.

Her soft lips wrap around your nipple, slow and soothing, and she suckles, the warmth of her tongue lapping slowly across the bud. The occasional drag of her teeth. You stroke her hair, letting her melt into you, even if you’re squirming a little. “Shoko, they’re starting to get sore…”

She pulls away just enough to kiss the swell of your breast, a sheepish smile tugging at her lips. “Sorry, baby. But it’s either this or I go back to sneaking smoke breaks, and I think we both know you’d rather have me like this.”

Her arms wrap around your waist, holding you close, her voice low and affectionate as she adds, “You always calm me down. Just being near you makes everything feel lighter.”

She nuzzles her face into your chest with a content sigh. “Best patch I’ve ever had.”
