Ugh. Am getting a baby sibling plant for Hortensia when I have more monies (Lucky bamboo, most likely. Not a succulent but allegedly low maintenance and less likely to trigger allergies) and am looking up funky/creepy pots for one and the queer Texan who designed and 3D printed the Pot Of Many Faces that Charlie Vera lived and died in and now where Hortensia Vera has successfully grown for over two years now, has had their designed stolen by another Etsy shop from the U.K. selling and printing the design for cheaper. And I'm guessing the original creator knows this and has tried and failed to get Etsy to act because now their listing for the pot says "the original" on it, and Etsy won't let me report the shop since I'm not the one being plagiarized and I can't leave a review on the shop because I never bought from them.
Anyway, the original designer is PrinTerror (not sure if it's supposed to be parsed as Prin Terror or Print Error, it's one word) and not only do I adore the funky poly-face pot but when Charlie died of root rot I reached out and asked how to best sterilize the pot so Hortensia didn't die and they were super helpful. So like. If you like disembodied body parts as an aesthetic, go check them out
#i really want the Styx flower vase from PrintError but it's out of my price range for now#i wish i had the money to buy one now and not later because the disembodied leg pot was on sale yesterday for half but it ended today#the hopefully successful succulent story of Hortensia Vera#Etsy#also i saw like twelve listings for identical 'melting goddess' pots all from different shops so like#Etsy get your shit together

I have some answers for you, but it may depend on your definition of “cute,” but I am perpetually in need of pots so here’s some stuff from my Etsy favorites:
JNMPottery’s legged planters make me think of goblins from The Labyrinth. I don’t have one yet because of the price point, but as soon as I know the perfect plant for one of these, I’m doing it because I think they’re just so fun and original.
I have a small Triclops from PRINTERROR, but I love their legs and cats planters, too.
These UFO planters are really cute. So are these monsters.
If you like fandom stuff, DoolittleDorks has Star Wars, Pokémon, and various horror movie themed concrete planters.
who knows where to buy cute pots for plants 🙇

11/6 Spree, part two UPDATE
I was being a good little ally this month without even knowing it by buying from a coop of local queer artists. This is the "about us" for PRINTERROR. I didn't know until now, since I'd originally bought their items through a local plant nursery.
I've now offered to come by their factory (which is downtown) to pick up my replacements, so I can go ahead and purchase these items in my online cart. Save myself some shipping... and the possibility of anything being shipped melting like these did in my car!
Oh yeah, the little fist planter I bought today was also apparently from a place that's LGBTQ+ owned/operated. In fact, I think most, if not all, of the booths at the little event today probably are.

Love my new planter from PrintError!

(I also have their large Polyface planter in silver and their medium Polyface planter in black. When I went to their factory to replace the planters that melted in my car, they gave me the matching trays for free, which are sold for $9 each.)
Their "About Us" page says they are a "queer" coop, so if you want to support LGBTQ+ companies, here's one.
They are located in Austin, TX, but do have some shipping capabilities. Idk just how far they can ship, but you could always fill out their contact form to ask, if you can't find the info available on their website.

I'm selling a lot of my stuffed animals and dolls to make space in my small room. I don't want to get rid of them but I really don't have any place for them anymore and they're just stuffed anywhere I can fit them. I take care of them pretty well, so none of them are really damaged or anything. I've done some research on how much certain items sell for before I just put them up for any price and I actually have some pretty nice and expensive toys. Like this one. This is a Hoppity 1996 beanie baby in good condition with multiple errors on the tags. It's the first thing I've put up and will definitely put more up as I sort my things out and research them so I know exactly what I'm giving to people. If you want any of them as I post them here (and on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F183812589858 ) then feel free to hmu to ask anything about them, ask for more pictures, or ask about price negotiations. I'm a reasonable person, but I also know how to research items. _________________________________________________ #yardsale #ebayseller #ebay #ebayshop #beaniebabies #rarebeaniebabies #sale #selling #hoppity #printerror https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxf91KVpwMK/?igshid=pnr64hdq2eie

Anyone know where I can get a large-yet-cheap plant pot, ideally creepy themed? My aloe is getting too big for its pot, it's getting root-bound.

Making Any Object Fully Immutable In JavaScript
Immutability in JavaScript is an interesting problem. It is easy to make variables unchangeable via const, but if those variables are objects, the object elements can be modified. There are various utilities to help make an object immutable, like Object.freeze, but they have issues too. Object.freeze only applies to the top level properties and does not affect array indices. So the only way is to combine the methods by looping through objects:
function makeImmutable(value) { // The extra instance of handles cases like new Number() if (typeof value === 'object' && !(value instanceof Number) && !(value instanceof String)) { for (let key in value) { value[key] = makeImmutable(value[key]) } return Object.freeze(value); } else { return value; } }; function printError(callback) { // Not a good practice unless you are debugging or showing an example try { callback(); } catch(e) { console.info(e); } } const obj = { property1: 'value1', array1: [ new String('element1'), 'element2', { property2: { property3: [1, 2] } } ] }; const objImmutable = makeImmutable(obj); // Each of the below will through an error in most environments (Some // environments will just not modify the value) printError(() => objImmutable.property1 = 'EDITED'); printError(() => objImmutable.property1[0] = 'EDITED'); printError(() => objImmutable.array1[0] = 'EDITED'); printError(() => objImmutable.array1[2].property2 = 'EDITED'); printError(() => objImmutable.array1[2].property2.property3 = 'EDITED'); printError(() => objImmutable.array1[2].property2.property3[1] = 'EDITED'); printError(() => objImmutable.array1[2].property2.property3[30] = 'EDITED'); // Stringify gaurantees the full depth of the object will be printed console.log(JSON.stringify(objImmutable, null, 2));
In other words start from the lowest level of an object, progressively building immutability. Note that I used arrow functions here to reduce the syntax and show the code flow bwtter. For environments that don't support arrow functions, like IE 11, just replace them with normal functions.
Immutability is useful to reduce errors by reducing the number of ways a system can change. Additionally, the above code can be used to detect when foreign code that you do not know about is modifying any object. With the above a stack trace will tell you exactly where. Finally, although the above covers any case, it is slow for large objects. So it is better to use a library like immutable.js.
