cw: blood, injuries, heavy implications of violence
Imagine being scarier than Cyno.
As the General Mahamatra, his reputation and status can make any wrongdoing academics quake in their boots. Most lack any capability to take him in a fight, but a few have the resources to gather those who could. Even in such cases, it's rare for Cyno to end up with more than a few scrapes and bruises.
Rare enough that you nealy have a heart attack when your boyfriend stumbled through the door covered in blood.
It was an ambush that he'd been regrettably oblivious to, he explained as you cleaned and bandaged his wounds. He hadn't anticipated that his target has connections to a larger Eremite group and had gone alone to catch him, walking right into their trap. While he'd knocked out a few, the scholar and several of the mercenaries had escaped into the desert, and Cyno's injuries forced him to retreat and recover.
He probably would have gone right back to work the next morning if he hadn't woken up to an agonizing pain in his abdomen and a note from you telling him to stay put while you were gone and reminding him where the bandages were. With a sigh, he decided that he'd only slow down the investigation and worry you by going out, and resigned himself to bed rest for the time being.
When night fell and you were still out, Cyno truly began to worry. Yes, he was in no state to be running around looking for you, but his protectiveness and anxiety ate away at him the longer he waited. You could be in trouble, hurt, or worse-
Almost in a repeat of last night, the door swung open as you entered, dirty and slightly bloody.
He found out the next day that the scholar he'd been tracking and his accomplices were turned in to the matra, battered, bruised, and terrified, by none other than his loving partner. Neither you nor the criminals would tell him what had happened, but word of the incident soon spread.
Now the researchers of the Akademiya have a healthy respect and fear of the General Mahamatra's partner, possibly more than Cyno himself.

no time like the present relating to the Oscars, from What’s Cookin’, Doc! Bob McKimson animates most of this, with Rod Scribner doing some of Bugs’ gesticulations before switching back to Bob with the scream. Bugs leaning against the confines of the screen on is a great touch

me a few weeks ago: "i should make a google docs version of my buddy cole timeline so i can have it on hand when i interview people for the doc"
a few weeks later
i have a 54-page google doc with each point on my buddy cole timeline in chronological order as well as thorough details of each event and how it contributed to the overall evolution of buddy cole, baseline interview questions for each point, screenshots of interviews and reviews for each project buddy cole appeared in over the past several decades, and dedicated pages for several of the queer writers and performers scott referenced in interviews over the years, along with a list of every time buddy cole swears on camera. i am printing this document out and putting it into a binder that's never leaving my side throughout the rest of production. the binder has its own theme song

Another batch or Mr. Puzzles quick sketches. I kept forgetting to draw his side pocket in the last couple ones. Random character featured in the little comic-ish Live Interview is some version of doodlesona. Can’t guarantee the dialogue will be believable/sound in character for Puzzles because honestly I’m still working on understanding his talking style and when he sarcastically jokes around or when he chooses to be serious and drop performance act. But in the off chance you wanna read it goes from left to right with reading
#GUYS it’s so hard drawing a character who uses his hands to communicate 24/7 jksjsksp PLEASE#my brain doesn’t know what pose to put him at any given time because he keeps SWITCHING inbetween words#he’s so animated and that’s why I love him so much expression and emotion in display#but I don’t like drawing hands at any given time if I can avoid it so screw him jskjso#the last two pages I think I’ve started to get a hang of how his expressions operate#still need to see if I can pull off the full range in my own style tho#and yes I inserted my silly doodle sona in the interview segment hello wazzup lol#although it’s very much a caricature because in reality I have no issues being on film. Been doing that since I was a toddler it’s natural#was even in a production class in high school operating camera equipment like I honestly love it#speaking of that art…still trying my best to figure out how his dialogue is meant to sound?#like I’ve always struggled with writing character dialogue I’m unfamiliar with the style of#thing is I’m good at acting the part if you give me a script to follow and example of tone inflections#but writing it from scratch is a whole nother struggle#so I’m sorry if it doesn’t feel on point I’ll try to get better at analyzing his speech patterns#honestly think I made it too formal sounding here? Or jumbled in some parts because I was stumped on how he’d translate thoughts to words#still fun interaction tho!#like I think he’d try his best to drop a few moments of empathy and try to get someone with anxiety to feel comfortable#but he’s also got the ratings to worry about and can’t afford it being ruined by someone’s anxiety hiccup#so kinda treading the line of being compassionate and giving advice to calm them v.s impatience to get the show rolling#or something idk still trying to analyze him and how he reacts to given circumstances#can you tell I think way too deeply about all this trivial stuff?#doodles#sketches

So this one might be a little too meta but...
The Hacker Arc. One of the Viewers noticed that the "Yiga Clan takes over Glitch Productions" segments of the IRL Arc were a little too well animated and acted, and realizes that the SMG4 characters, and possibly all characters, really are alive. They try for months to make the rest of the world see the truth, but without any tangible evidence they're written off as a crazy conspiracy theorist. So, desperate for proof, they hack into Luke's computer to "borrow" one of his characters.
They end up getting Tari, and put her into a copy of The Stanley Parable to wait for an interested party who are pretty much the only ones who've heard them out, and were the ones to provide them with the resources to codenap Tari in the first place. Unfortunately for both of them, said party is a shady organization who already knows about digital beings, and is far more interested in researching a live specimen for their own ends than revealing anything to anyone.
Meanwhile, everyone back in the Mushroom Kingdom and Glitch Productions is freaking out and desperately trying to figure out where Tari is and how to reach her.

What is your opinion on Yukichi and Yuichi since they look alike? The only difference is their personality
I've tried to rewrite this post like 5 times and it always ended up way too long so it might be a bit waffley sorry
(Also I'm calling Yukichi Yuki and Yuichi Ichi cos otherwise itd get a bit confusing)
So anyone whose even looked at this blog or my main knows that I love Yuki so much that it's kinda embarrassing lol. He has completely infiltrated my brain and I'm unhinged about him. I've already said a lot about him on here tho so I'll leave it here.
Honestly I kinda like Ichi alot as well? I think? It's been a while since I've watched Samurai Rabbit and I'll be the first to admit that I definitely didn't give it a fair chance. I was comparing it too much to the comics and I wasn't even that familiar with them in fact I'd only read the TMNT crossovers so I hardly even knew the comics I was comparing it to. I've watched a few clips and the first episode more recently and I found Ichi to be pretty fun so I think I like him but I honestly don't know enough to give a fair opinion, really.
I'll admit I'm not a big fan of Yuki an Ichi looking so similar tho. I know it's like a marketing thing, Yuki probably wouldn't exist without the netflix series since he's used to introduce new fans to some of the older characters and concepts so him and Ichi looking the same makes sense in a meta sense but it's still kinda weird. Not to mention if the comics get a spike in popularity or another adaption that includes Yuki in anyway the tags are gonna be murder to traverse since there's litterally only one letter difference between their names (honestly that's the most annoying part tbh, I love Yuki but he probably could've been named something different since according to google Ichi's name can mean "brave first son" which like fits thematically).
Also personality may be the main difference but its also kinda the one that matters the most. They look basically identical but I think they stand on their own.

6-7/100 days of productivity
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, this was a weekend that happened... I managed to do very little college work despite plans. I did however do some other stuff:
-attended a protest
-hung out with my partner
-reviewed some study notes and bought new notebooks
-scheduled my first haircut in more than half a year
Plan for this week:
1. Get aforementioned haircut
2. Schedule my first aid exam and continuation of driving lessons
3. Turn in homework from last week alongside further study of last semester's classes (specifically classical mechanics and chemistry)
Tomorrow is a very class heavy day so I will do no further revision afterwards, it will wait for the day after.

You know what? Fuck it. Four Rooms is fun as hell, yes, even the first two parts that aren't written and directed by two great directors people are afraid to criticise. I don't care what the critics say, I had a lot of fun watching it.
#four rooms#it's because I am always on the side of the critis somehow I mean#that's what I want to for a job being a cinema critic#and I usually have no problem having different opinions on movie from the majority of people#but in cases like this I am just...I don't know I feel genuinely like I am on a whole another wavelength#I have read multiple people on letterbox calling it an anticomedy#I won't even assess how it feels they all took inspiration from the same review but okay#but the point is no the movie is literally not that bad and you know why I can say that?#Because I don't think someone could look at me in the eye and tell four rooms is worse than the latest Netflix raunchy comedy#or some of the worst Adam Sandler production#it's literally not you don't need to be dramatic nobody is saying it's a masterpiece but god the snobbery#tim roth delivers and you can fight me to death on that#Also Madonna won a prize for worst actress??? If she had 7 lines jn the whole movie it was a lot#And I agree that the first segment is probably the weakest one and the Rodriguez segment is maybe the best one#But I do feel like a lot of people are just afraid to say anything bad on Tarantino and Rodriguez so they're just going#'the movie is shit but they were goos obviously!'#Four rooms is not perfect by all means and I do think it could have given a lot more but fuck it was alright it was fun#I hadn't had good laugh in a while#and Tim Roth again is hysterical#I am sorry for the pented up frustration#I don't want all people to liked this movie I just wished it wasn't one of those movies it's cool to snob
