Pro-Hamas insurrectionists have infiltrated the Cannon House Office Building once again. Why are these people not being prosecuted the same way J6 protestors have been? 🤔

One of the UK’s best-known klezmer bands has informed fans that a venue has cancelled its concert this evening due to some of its members being Israeli.
Oi Va Voi, which formed in London more than two decades ago, announced that the Strange Brew in Bristol had cancelled their appearance “due to pressure it had received from activist groups, who contacted the venue making untrue or misguided claims about ourselves and Oi Va Voi’s music.”
The band stated that those who had called for its cancellation “have clearly not listened to our output, or seen us perform. They are taking one fact, the ethnicity of some of our members, and using it as evidence for damning accusations about our beliefs and our right to perform in our home country.
“We believe this is a clear case of discrimination, and the tactics of intimidation are identical to those used by far-right groups across the world.”
All information regarding the concert had been removed from the Strange Brew’s website.
The band also called on the Government to “pay closer attention to the increase of ethnically-based censorship of the arts in the UK”, citing recently cancelled concerts featuring Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead and Israeli singer Dudu Tassa.
Drafting new legislation would help to protect venues from intimidation from pressure groups,” they said.
The full statement from Oi Va Voi was posted on the band’s Instagram page
Andrew Gilbert, Vice President of the Board of Deputies, told the Jewish News he would be raising this case directly with government officials.
“A music venue bowing to mob pressure and cancelling a band’s performance due to some of its members being Israeli is an act of abject cowardice”, he said.
“It is an obvious example of discrimination, and the Board will be raising this directly with senior officials in the Department of Culture, Media and Sport”.
A JLC spokesperson said “To exclude Oi Va Voi from performing simply because some of its members are Israeli would be widely condemned as xenophobia if they were from any other country. This is yet another example of Israel and Israelis being held to a different standard. This venue ought to think long and hard about such a blatant double standard.”
Last week Strange Brew hosted a “Boycott Eurovision – Palestine Fundraiser”.
An advertisement for the event said: “Protestors and members of our own community are being persecuted for standing up for what is just… we must continue to organise, escalate and use our spheres of influence.”
In a statement posted on their social media, Strange Brew said:
“A meeting was held on Tuesday between our venue, a member of the band and the promoter. There we advised that we would be cancelling the show due to some album artwork we had been presented with, which was the solo project of one of the performers in the band. We were of the view it could be interpreted as politically offensive, given the ongoing and worsening situation in Gaza, and it had already been interpreted as such by the groups who contacted us.”
The venue stressed that “we have never and would never exclude anyone – artists or customers – on the basis of their ethnicity, religion or nationality.”

Speaking to anyone protesting at Chuck Schumer's tour stops for his book, Antisemitism in America: A Warning.
By now it's beyond obvious that the Trump administration is trying to cultivate enmity between Jewish people and other minorities. A classic divide and conquer tactic, made easier by the fact that--well, Schumer is right that antisemitism is on the rise in America, and uhh, antisemitism? in my local liberal/leftist/anarchist activist group? it's more likely than you think.
So. There's no room for vagueness here. Any muddy messaging will not be simply a failure of communication--it could be actively damaging to the cause of ousting Schumer, as well as conceal or stoke antisemitic sentiments in activist groups.
Jewish protestors are already on their note about this; I'm talking to anyone who hasn't thought this through yet. If you're protesting, it's vital that it be clear from a mile away that you are damning the man for specific political actions, not protesting the nature of his book. Please make sure your fellow-attendees grasp that it's not enough to know that in their own minds, it must be visible.
Invite protestors who have them to wear their kippahs . Make signs that say "GREAT BOOK--YOU SHOULD QUIT YOUR DAY JOB!" An attributed sign with Mahmoud Khali's quote, "The liberation of the Palestinian people and the Jewish people are intertwined and go hand-in-hand, and you cannot achieve one without the other." Anything else you can think of to visibly lock arms with the Jewish community.
Please make understand, and make sure your fellow-protestors are clear, that those going to buy the book or listen to the talk are not crossing a picketline; they're mostly people who are concerned about the rise of antisemitism--make sure they feel safe with you, your people, your movement.
We all know the media loves discord and so does this administration--in order to be heard at all, the narrative must be controlled. Make it hard to even take a photo that cuts out your active support for and from Jewish people.
(Please do generalize this beyond Chuck Schumer's book tour btw. It's just extra important to bear in mind if you're planning to show up holding a protest sign in front of a talk on antisemitism, ya know?)

Timeline of events in Los Angeles, CA, June 2025
Here's a clearer breakdown of the events to help you organize the full story:
🧊 1. The Trigger: Major ICE Raid
In early June 2025, ICE carried out a large-scale immigration raid in Los Angeles, reportedly detaining over 200 individuals in one sweep.
The operation focused on neighborhoods with large immigrant populations, including Boyle Heights, Koreatown, and parts of South Central LA.
This raid sparked public outrage, especially due to the timing (early morning), use of armored vehicles, and reports that some detainees were separated from their families.
Several local leaders and civil rights organizations called the raid “a provocation.”
✊ 2. Initial Protests: Peaceful and Controlled
Spontaneous demonstrations began immediately, growing into organized protests led by immigrant rights groups, LGBTQ+ organizers, and progressive coalitions.
The largest protests occurred around the Metropolitan Detention Center, LA City Hall, and near the freeway overpasses.
The LAPD publicly stated (and city officials confirmed) that they had the situation under control.
They deployed traffic control and riot-prevention units but reported no major violence or arrests during the first 36–48 hours.
Police Chief Dominic Franklin said, “We are in dialogue with organizers, and the demonstrations have been largely peaceful.”
🪖 3. Federal Intervention: National Guard & Marines
Despite LAPD’s statements, President Trump federalized California’s National Guard and sent active-duty Marines into Los Angeles, invoking Title 10 Section 12406.
This was done without Gov. Newsom’s consent, which is extremely rare and constitutionally controversial.
The stated rationale was to “restore order” and “protect federal property”—but there was no significant violence occurring at the time.
🔥 4. Escalation & Chaos
The arrival of federal troops coincided with a sharp escalation in violence and confusion:
Military vehicles patrolled downtown; checkpoints appeared near courthouses and federal buildings.
Protesters who had remained peaceful began clashing with troops, especially near ICE facilities.
LAPD appeared to have been left out of the coordination loop; officers reportedly didn't know when federal forces would arrive or what tactics they'd use.
Reports of rubber bullets, flashbangs, tear gas, and aggressive arrests emerged—especially targeting journalists and legal observers.
📉 Result
At least 20 journalists injured, over 50 protesters arrested, and multiple people hurt by crowd-control weapons.
Widespread outrage followed, not just over the tactics used, but over the federal government’s bypassing of local authority.
Civil rights lawsuits and constitutional challenges are now underway.

STOP USING BIOMETRICS TO UNLOCK YOUR TECH BEFORE GOING TO A PROTEST, RALLY, OR ACCESSING BIRTH CONTROL OPTIONS
Encrypt your tech. If you are US based, or in a country that does not protect your rights when it comes to cops, please read these article. There are not currently laws stopping the police from using your thumb or face to unlock your phone without consent or a warrant. Especially if you are taking any part in any protests throughout America, or accessing birth control needs.
Or you're, you know, queer, disabled, a person of colour, a woman, or generally just know how horrible the cops and government can be. They can pull you over for no reason, unlock your phone, and look for something to charge you with later. They can and will and have.
Cops will do ANYTHING they want, and chances are, the courts will let them.
(this might be relevant for other countries, too-- the protest rights are completely fucked here in the UK, so please be careful out there!!)
Helpfully, there is also a cop-proof your phone article as well:
