I had a fun evening at Puttshack in downtown Nashville.   It’s an indoor putting facility that uses a ball that broadcasts a frequency that allows their computers to track hits and scoring of all the holes.    It was really fun with all kinds of holes with combinations of challenges and trivia. I met Josh in London for a bumper day of birthday activities that got better and better as the day went on:

First stop was Jack & Beyond for a “bottomless cake” challenge; you have 90 minutes to down as many slices as you can, and can choose from 7 flavours. Sounds dope, but it isn’t without its pitfalls - the slices are big, covered in icing, and if, like me, you opt for the cheesecake early doors, you can kiss goodbye any hope of making it onto their leaderboard! The cheesecake stopped me dead in my tracks at 2, whereas Josh learned from my error and polished off 8 before calling it a day. The cheesecake was a bit much for me even outside the confines of a food challenge, so I like to think that if I’d had my time again I would’ve avoided it, eaten a few more slices, and enjoyed the experience a bit more too.

Never mind, on to the next stop - the F1 Arcade! It’s as it sounds, predominately full of proper racing wheel/seats hooked up to the latest game. We had three races (Italy, Bahrain, Belgium), each about 6 minutes long. The short format meant I was only just getting acclimatised as our time ended, and we each had some rotten luck, meaning the races were generally lacking in any competitive wheel-to-wheel racing - except for the time when Josh didn’t see me steaming through on his inside and sent me into the barriers!

This was followed by a quick hop-skip-jump around the corner to Puttshack, for some indoor crazy golf (and a couple of cocktails). As opposed to regular golf, the aim is to score as many points as you can, through a combination of minimal shots and attempting various challenges along the course. The imaginative holes expertly tempt you with a fine balance of risk and reward, and I think it’s easily the best crazy golf of its kind that I’ve played. I won, but Josh tried to claim the moral victory as he scored free pizza on one hole!

Our last scheduled stop was Happy (restaurant) for some good grub, and it certainly delivered. It was rather painful deciding what to have, but in the end we shared some beef nachos before I demolished a mac ‘n cheese + steak combo (and washed it down with another cocktail for good measure).

A thoroughly enjoyable day, and quite possibly the most action-packed birthday I’ve ever had!

Forgot to mention that latter picture is the definition of American Gothic. That and Breezewood Pennsylvania side-by-side, I couldn't do better.

Apparently some developer is trying to build the tallest building in America in Oklahama City in a residential district:

It would primarily be condos, but would have a hotel and "entertainment complex" built into the base, next to all those low rise duplexes:

This is the America we deserve, absolutely please do this. Every city should have a megalomaniacal construction project boondoggle hybrid condo-mall slapped in between a row of town houses, that is the American Dream.

Endodontics of Atlanta had an incredible time at our staff Christmas Party on December 13 at PuttShack! The evening was filled with laughter, great food, and lots of fun. We enjoyed exchanging Secret Santa gifts, which made the night even more memorable. The camaraderie among the team was the highlight of the night. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday season and show appreciation for each other’s hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Hello Mr. Senator. So I grew up adjacent to Boston. I miss it a lot, but had to move up to Maine for family reasons in 2018. However due to circumstances I'm in Boston for a couple of days. I do still miss Mass overall but holy hell was Boston always this filthy? I think the dirty old snow isn't helping things but I really don't remember it being this bad. Was it just rose colored glasses or has it gotten worse? Feel like it smells kinda bad too. Xoxo Love your blog sincerely long time follower. We already hit the MFA and I forgot how badass that place is.

Boston smells much worse in the summer hahaha and the melting brown snow is not adding to the charm. New fund things to do with friends hmmmm the Seaport has glown up recently. (F1 Arcade, Puttshack, flight club, curling is still on, wandering around shopping and eating), other museums if you haven't been in a while. The food and wine festival is on. Or skating I love going skating!
