Too dumb to read the room? Dead, if he doesn't learn to shut up? Gale: *stunned* Astarion: *satisfied, walks off* Gale: *runs after him* Well, actually the answer was "quizard", Astarion. Astarion: *groans*

Hi-Dee-Ho Quizard. So I was wondering how like traveling would have been affected by quirks? Like surely they would have needed to change airplanes or create special vehicles to accommodate the new genetic society they were thrust into.

Believe it or not, I don't think much would change, at least with travel itself. Considering how everyone is still mostly human-shaped, there isn't much incentive for change things. However, this is one of those cases where things should have changed but likely didn't. Something like a brand of clothing is ultimately pretty easy to produce for someone with specific physical needs, but what about something like a car or a bus? That's going to require sweeping changes or specific alterations to be made to accommodate an ultimately small portion of the population. If Hori wanted to point out how society hasn't properly accommodated the rise of Quirks, transportation would have been a good way to show it. I can imagine someone like Shoji having issues fitting in with his massive arms.

Though for traveling itself, I think there would be a lot of changes to how things are handled. Because now someone can get onto the plane with two bombs basically strapped to their hands that you cannot remove. I would have to think that something like the Air Marshalls would be supplemented by heroes to prevent any hijackings or if some guy gets too nervous on his flight and unleashes an EMP. Meanwhile, there could be a case where pirates are more brazenly attacking ships to raid and ransom people now that they have something like Quirks to help them. Which makes me wonder if there could be something like international heroes, ones that travel with cargo and cruise ships on open waters to protect them. Or if the Quirk laws would even apply to international waters.

On that note, I would have to think that certain kinds of extra restrictions and measures would be put into place to keep people from abusing their Quirks or even traveling. I'm not even talking about someone like Bakugou and Kamakiri getting checked for extra screening, though that would certainly happen and could help to show more issues with the world. I'm talking more about the Quirks that can make people do bad stuff once they get off the plane. If officials are worried about certain contraband making it across borders, then people are going to be met with a lot of scrutiny if they have any power tied to that. If someone like Momo could create even something as small as banned candy, you better believe they'd be doing a lot of background checks on her and her intentions.

Similar to the Quizard Duel section, I'd hit a point in my script where I needed a visual element to tie to the plot. Specifically, this segment would be where Leon fully breaks down, realizing that he can't possibly make the call for how to guide the future himself... but he /does/ get inspiration for where he can find the key.

Thankfully, I knew ahead of time that he'd suggest going to check landfills for it - I even foreshadowed it slightly with two trash-related jokes up to this point - but I still needed the element to trigger him into having that epiphany. Enter, Junk Divers.

Because I don't spend my time wisely, I developed an entire game concept around digging through trash to find treasure. Because symbolism or something.But yes, I developed an idea for a game that was a little bit Pac-Man, a little bit Dig Dug, and a little bit a weird puzzle/exploration. The player digs up and down through multiple floors, looking for treasure. There's a map telling you what floor you're on, but there are multiple exits in and out of most floors, and often multiple "stages" on a single floor. The major challenges of the game are navigating back and forth between an increasingly complex set of differently-shaped rooms, all while at risk of being chased and cornered by killer robots. If I ever need to develop a little video game, I think I'd make this in real life. Anyway, I also made the place one plays the game this faux garbage truck, allowing Leon to stay in one place while Luca trusts him enough to go out and explore a bit on her own. Overall, I'm pretty proud of how all of those elements came together.

Missed Moments: I read this amazing story last summer, and it is still by far one of my favorite Weasley stories. It focuses on the summer after the diary, all the brothers in Egypt trying to figure out they can help Ginny. This is the first story I've read that really made me completely see and love the Weasley boy dynamics. I loved all their relationships, but especially Ron and Ginny’s. I burst into tears when Ron finally told all the brothers what happened during CoS and Bill railed on all of them for failing to take care of their baby sister. Run, don’t walk, to read this!

Meeting with Dumbledore by @floreatcastellumposts

Missed Moments: This is such an amazing moment of when Molly goes to Dumbledore requesting to have Harry go straight to the Burrow for the holidays. I’ve always been taken aback by the amount of fandom hate for Molly when she was such an amazing maternal figure to Harry. This story broke my heart for how much Harry was hurting, but also how much it hurt Molly to not be able to take him in. (I’m crying just writing this summary!)

Not strictly gen (there’s James/Lily, Harry/Ginny) but this is mostly a beautiful ode to James and Lily, their love for Harry, and his love back. It gets me every time.

A Family Affair by @remedial-potions

Missed Moments: I rarely read stories that aren’t Harry/Ginny focused (as most of you know), but this story. This story really hit me hard. Molly wants Bill to invite Percy to his wedding. It illuminates so much about these characters and how deep the wounds run. The writing is a beautiful example of showing, not telling. It really brought to life these characters and their perspectives, and reminded me about the wonderful power of building empathy through reading and writing.

Next Gen: A lovely moments where Harry returns home after a field mission. Ahhh the family feels! Harry getting to be happy and relaxed makes my heart melt.

Fight Them Soft by @ellizablue 

I really love this Snape & Ginny-centric story (NOT Snape/Ginny) that shows why Ginny would be okay naming one of her children after him. It has a very realistic portrayal of the hell that was Ginny’s sixth year, Snape’s internal struggles, and then the cutest depiction of Harry and Ginny as they are figuring out what to name their second child. This hit all the emotions just right for me.

An Absence Of Vegetables by Majick

To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure where to put this story, but it’s a lovely story of Harry getting to be a boy. And Harry & Ron brotp for life!
