Prompt 6 - Explosion

Regulus got out of the bed in an explosion of rage and bedsheets. James followed quickly after plucking Regulus’s wand from his hand before he could curse Sirius. 

“Give it back!” Regulus ordered. 

“Sorry, love, can’t do that,” James told him, trying to pull him away from Sirius. Regulus shrugged out of his grasp and rounded on Sirius again. 

“They are bloody snails, Sirius. They tried to kill me and Pandora. They had to be stopped. Thalira was pissed they were destroying the forest,” Sirius opened his mouth to say something, but snapped it shut again, looking down sadly. 

“Was it at least a quick death?” Sirius sniffed. 

“I blew them into a million pieces. I doubt they even knew what happened.” James had to bite the inside of his cheeks to stop from laughing at the very uncomfortable way Regulus recalled the way he’d killed Sirius’s precious snails. 

“Well, at least I’ve still got their babies,” Sirius said to the quiet room. 

“You what?!” James had to grab at Regulus again to stop him from scratching Sirius’s face up. His animagus really was perfect for him. 

“Hey! They’re only little, look,” Sirius protested and flung himself onto the floor and wiggled under his bed. He pulled out a shoebox. He took the lid off and showed everyone the colony of baby snails inside. 

“I think we need to make a few rules about what pets we allow in the dorm,” Remus said, with a surprisingly calm demeanour. 

“You are not murdering my babies. They need me, I’m their Daddy,” Sirius huffed, hugging the box to his chest. 

“Mate, you sound like Hagrid,” James snorted, unable to keep his laughter at bay any longer. The look of horror that spread across Sirius’s face was too much and the room burst into peels of laughter. 

“Fine, take them, just please find them a good home,” Sirius begged, handing the box over to Peter and leaving the room. 

“Er, good morning?” Peter said to them. They stared at him before they all burst into laughter again. 

“Morning, Pete,” James choked out between bouts of laughter. 

“Do you reckon Filch would like these?” Peter asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. 

“Peter, my old friend, I do believe he would, and I have a brilliant idea of how to get them to him.” James clapped his hands together as Regulus groaned against him. 

“You’re going to do a prank, aren’t you?” He asked, already knowing the answer. 

“Yes, my love and you and your friends are going to help,”
