Integrated NDE Solution in Pune: Excellence in Radiographic Testing and NDT Services
In the field of industrial inspection, ensuring the integrity and quality of materials and welds is paramount. Integrated NDE Solution in Pune is a leader in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services, with a specialized focus on radiographic testing. This article delves into the specifics of radiographic testing, highlights the importance of weld testing, and explores the comprehensive range of services offered by Integrated NDE Solution. Using the latest technologies and adhering to rigorous standards, Integrated NDE Solution in Pune ensures unparalleled accuracy and reliability in all their NDT services.
Understanding Radiographic Testing
Radiographic testing (RT) is a crucial NDT method used to inspect the internal structure of materials and welded joints. It employs X-rays or gamma rays to produce images of the interior of objects, allowing for the detection of internal defects that are not visible to the naked eye.
How Radiographic Testing Works
The process involves passing X-rays or gamma rays through the material or weld. A detector, typically a film or digital sensor, captures the rays that emerge on the other side. Variations in the material density cause different levels of radiation absorption, which are recorded on the detector, creating an image that reveals internal flaws such as cracks, voids, and inclusions.
Benefits of Radiographic Testing
Comprehensive Inspection: RT can detect both surface and subsurface defects.
Accuracy: High-resolution images provide detailed insights into the internal structure.
Versatility: Applicable to a wide range of materials, including metals, composites, and plastics.
Permanent Record: Radiographic images can be stored and reviewed for future reference.
Non-Destructive: Does not damage or alter the material being inspected.
Radiographic Weld Testing
Weld testing is a critical application of radiographic testing. In industries where the integrity of welds is vital, such as construction, aerospace, and oil and gas, ensuring the quality and reliability of welds is essential.
Importance of Radiographic Weld Testing
Welds are often the weakest points in structures and are susceptible to various defects, including:
Porosity: Gas pockets trapped within the weld.
Cracks: Fractures that can compromise structural integrity.
Incomplete Fusion: Areas where the weld metal has not adequately fused with the base metal.
Slag Inclusions: Non-metallic particles trapped within the weld.
Radiographic weld testing provides a clear image of these defects, allowing for timely detection and rectification, thereby preventing potential failures.

It’s SPOOKY SCARY SKELETONS MONTH
Tumblr media
So let’s talk about yer bones! Yeah, that’s right, Captian Holt. I said –
Tumblr media
An adult has (roughly) 206 bones (I say ‘roughly’! You can have non-pathological anatomical variation, such as lumbarised sacral vertebrae (an extra bone in your back) or accessory sesamoids like the flabella (a little bone at the back of the knee!))
A newborn has (roughly) 300 bones
That's a big difference! Almost 100 bones of difference! Where do they go?
Well, you see - as you get older, every time you come into the hospital we steal more of your bones...
Just kidding.
...Or am I
As an embryo, your skeleton is completely composed of cartilage. This gradually ossifies as you age, until, as an adult, you have a full skeleton, with only the interactive portions of joints being capped with hyaline cartilage.
Tumblr media
[Paediatric normal whole leg radiograph, showing epiphyseal plates around the head of the femur, the femoral condyles, the proximal tibia, the distal tibia and the lateral malleoli that can mimic fractures. Courtesy of radiopaedia]
See all those weird blobs? Those are bones in the process of fusing together! The transverse lines that could be mistaken for fractures are actually epiphyseal plates – hyaline cartilage bridges between the shaft of a bone and what will become its tip, which don't attenuate x-rays, and thus appear black on our radiographs! This is where bone growth occurs - the cartilage forms a sort of template matrix that then ossifies into bone.
Compare our paediatric radiograph to the AP knee radiographs of an adult with no visible pathology:
Tumblr media
[Adult normal AP knee radiographs, showing fully fused bones. Courtesy of radiopaedia]
See how all those ragged pieces have joined up? That’s endochondral ossification, BABY!
This is how we can figure out the age of a paediatric service user from their bones! Certain bones form at different times.
Let’s check out the carpal bones – all those fiddly little bones in your wrist! Anyone who’s binged Hatecrimes MD – sorry, House MD as often as I have will know the classic acronym for remembering the names of these bones. Moving thumb side to pinkie side, we have…
Scared (Scaphoid - red)
Lovers (Lunate - dark blue)
Hate (Hamate - green)
To (Triquetrum - yellow)
Try (Trapezium - orange)
The (Trapezoid - light blue)
Coolest (Capitate - purple)
Positions (Pisiform - pink)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Normal adult wrist radiograph, shown with and without coloured carpal bones. Courtesy of radiopaedia.]
But did you know that these bones form at different times?
The Capitate ossifies at 1-3 months
The Hamate ossifies at 2-4 months
The Triquetrum ossifies at 2-3 years
The Lunate ossifies at 2-4 years
The Scaphoid, Trapezium and Trapezoid ossify at 4-6 years
And the Pisiform ossifies at 8-12 years
So, I can look at this picture, and tell you that this child is approximately 3 years old, because their Capitate and Hamate have ossified, and their Triquetrum is just visible, starting to ossify below the thumb (circled!)
Tumblr media
[Normal wrist radiograph of a paediatric patient, triquetral ossification centre circled. Courtesy of Radiopaedia.]
Your bones continue to form and fuse until you reach about 25! Your olecranon (the bump of your elbow) starts to ossify at 6-11 years, and fuses at 13-16 years! We can look at the base of your fifth metatarsal to age afab folks who are approx. 10 and amab folks who are approx. 12, as this bone fuses in the 2-4 years following these ages! The medial end of the clavicle can be used to assess your age from approximately 18-22, and your facial bones continue to ossify into adulthood! How cool is that?
If you’re over 25, fret not – there’s still plenty of funky stuff happening to your bones. But we’ll get into all of that next time, when we take a look at the function of osteoblasts and osteoclasts and explore all the cool little jobs that your bones perform within your body - it's more than you might think! So, tune in next time for more Bone facts...

And thank you for reading!

So, interesting day. Managed to tick off another life experience by riding in the back of an ambulance. Close to 4 hours in A&E, 2 ECGS, 1 chest x-ray, blood tests and multiple blood pressure and temperature readings, but all was well, just need to follow up some stuff with my GP. It was very scary for a while, though.
Paramedics were so lovely, nurses and doctors and radiographers, all lovely. People in A&E shouting at nurses and being absolute shit cunts - not so much. Apart from the lack of human decency, these people don’t know how lucky they are to have the services we have.
So much love for the NHS. ❤️

HEADCANON; On The Spider PT 1/?
After the death of Ben Parker and the hospitalization of May Parker due to a massive heart attack, Peter primarily spent his time in the care of Anna Watson.
May's hospitalization prolonged from 2002 into 2003 with Peter befriending Harry Osborn at the public school, though it is most likely Harry will attend a private school. despite this, they become fast friends.
Peter spend the first portion of 2003 with Harry, running all around OsCorp, with the main rule being to stay on the top two floors of the building as lower levels were sectioned off for research, development, and factory work which made the building self sustainable and vital to both federal and military research. The ground and first floor levels were open to student research and scholarships which made OsCorp a major asset and prime employer within New York City.
A top secret project had been commissioned within OsCorp, starting back after the first major success within the company: building Baxtor Tower in 1974. Baxtor Tower displayed not only the capability to be adaptable to the Fantastic Four's (a group of scientists from NASA as well as active members of the military) newly acquired powers, but also maintained the astronomical levels of radiation and prevented further spread of their conditions.
The project was to analyze the phenomenon of acquired superhuman abilities. OsCorp was given what little remained of the aborted 'Captain America' project and were allowed blood samples of the Fantastic Four (without informing them of the project) with the intent to make a serum that could be issued to the American Armed forces.
The Ideal soldier would not need repeated injections or continued recruitment into the service. The ideal soldier could be molded and bred into the position, with different genetics generating different powers, the best of which would breed further more perfect beings. Beings that could be controlled, slaughtered, and mass produced.
Leading this project was Sergeant William Stryker, an activist in the anti-mutant movement and driving force into mutant studies, particularly the X-gene, and was overseeing the production at OsCorp as an extension of the Weapon Plus Program. Alongside him was Dr. Miles Warren, a prolific geneticist and a biochemistry professor at Empire State University who was renowned for his cloning capabilities of various animals which furthered genetic studies.
Warren's participation within the program was primarily to avoid jail time as he had been caught hoarding genetic samples of his students, particularly those who were minors with varying degrees of clones in varying states of growth in violation of several ethical principles (Respect for autonomy, Nonmaleficence, Merit and integrity, etc).
The research had gone on for years with varying breakthroughs and setbacks. The most prominent, by the time of 2003, had to do with maintaining a sterile environment as trials of varying serums, radiology, gases, etc made retrials costly and difficult to sterilize.
Because of this, a lone spider began to build its web in a radiograph generator and survived the experiment.
it wasn't until the spider had escaped, free within the vents of the building that the webbing was found, having affected the test subject mortally. The spider however, as researchers feared, was nowhere to be seen.
The spider made its way to the top floor where Peter and Harry were playing.
it dropped down onto Peter, and bit him. The bug was cast off, and forgotten about, with the bite simply itching and Peter scratching at the spot, further spreading the venom into his body.
Peter returned home to Anna Watson and became sick the next day, suffering a fever of 110 degrees, with nausea, and lethargy. he recovered within 24 hours and soon began to develop powers at eleven years old.
it wouldn't be until he turned fourteen that he would have any semblance of mastery over them. he has told no one of this development, especially his disabled Aunt May, who suffered with a heart condition and was most decidedly anti-mutant and anti-super-ablest.
he could only remember what his Uncle had once said: with Great Power comes Great responsibility.

ok now that i can process what happened yesterday at the ED I'm annoyed.
Triage nurse filling my forms out for me had to ask me if I am Asian and instead of asking me to elaborate what kind, she took a stab and guessed Indian???????? (im Viet and do not look ethnically ambiguous)
The radiographer doing my CT scan saw me wheeled in and zoned out, not paying attention because I lost a bit of blood, actually asked the nurse pushing my wheelchair "What language does she speak" without addressing me first and this nurse was also taken aback and said "... English dude." like. I know for a fact that if i needed language services, it would be front and center on the top of my chart.
none of these people were white either. Even though I'm a healthcare professional myself and work in a hospital, i cannot stand going to the doctor and especially to the ED even when i have to bc of this. I wouldnt even want to be treated at the hospital I work at which is not only one of the most internationally renowned health systems out there but in one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the States

Updates: we are doing treatments for sinus infection first. She is already standing a bit better after her first round of meds. She has a huge appetite and is acting like herself just without balance.
Commissions and such are still open as I do not know what the future holds. If she does not get better soon, she will need to go to radiographs and MRI.
Thank you everyone for the reblogs and support. I’ve received quite a few messages from here and from art rp discord servers where I offered some services and I can’t be more grateful than I am.

A radioactive camera reported stolen in Houston over the weekend is still missing, a spokesperson for Statewide Maintenance Company said this morning.
A SPEC-150 radiographic camera was reported stolen by Statewide Maintenance Company last week. The Houston Office of Emergency Management and the Texas Department of State Health Services is assisting in recovering the device.
Statewide Maintenance Company announced in a release that they are offering a reward for the camera's return.
"The material is sealed within multiple layers of protection, and the risk of exposure is very low," OEM officials wrote in a release over the weekend. The department also wrote that the levels of radiation outside the camera are not dangerous.
The 53-pound camera was last in the area of a Taco Cabana in North Houston on March 9.
Radiography cameras are used to see problems in devices that are not visible to the naked eye. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, industrial radiography can be useful because it does not damage or change the item being tested. It can be used to test gas and oil pipelines, metal welding, boilers, vehicle parts and aircraft parts,
OEM officials said if anyone finds the camera, they should not try and open it and should either call emergency services or the DSHA 24-hour phone line at 512-458-7460.

It's 2AM and I'm Awake so I'm making it everyone else's problem with a rant about radiology.
Specifically, my biggest pet peeve about this job, which is other radiology professionals who don't know the difference between a radiologist and a radiographer
I don't expect the average person to know the difference because of how similar the terms are, but people who have my specific job or something related - I ran into them all the time and they still didn't fucking know and it led to a lot of bullshit.
To be specific, a radioGRAPHER works with images (graph). Radiographers take Xrays and CTs and MRIs. Their job is essentially customer service so they're pretty down to earth. No matter how busy these guys are they're almost always polite.
Enter the radiologists.
These guys are the opposite. They literally work alone in a dark room like Gollum. I wouldn't be surprised if half of them were coked up given some of their workloads - some of them slam back studies like frat boys with shots. RadioLOGISTS (ology) studythe images and make diagnoses. Often the radiographer will spot a break or that something is off, but the radiologist is the one who ultimately is responsible for the formal diagnosis and the one who gets in trouble if something is missed.
The reason why it's important to know the difference is because three out of ten radiologists agree that the other seven in ten are batshit unhinged. I'm not exaggerating, roughly three out of ten radiologists are absolute sweethearts and the other seven are off the fucking planet, there is no in between and the extremes are generally EXTREME. They're complete fucking primadonnas. I've had radiologists refuse to do their jobs for the pettiest of bullshit. I've had radiologists fuck off in the middle of the day, brazenly announcing they're going to swim in the pool for a few hours, and face no consequences because there's a shortage and they can do whatever the fuck they want. I've had radiologists completely fail to turn up to their shifts with no consequences because again, they know they are irreplaceable. I worked with one guy I'm pretty sure had dementia who was being actively investigated and another dude who sounded drunk every time I talked to him. They get away with behaviour that would have any minimum wage worker fired in three seconds. SOME OF THEM HAVE MULTIPLE FULL TIME JOBS AND ARE ROLLING IN IT WHILE GETTING READY FOR THE INEVITABLE STROKE THEY'RE GONNA GIVE THEMSELVES.
Even the nicest radiologists hate being interrupted and even when it's your job to interrupt them, many are prone to tantrums if you interrupt them. My senior boss described managing them as akin to being a mother, but I think it's more accurate to say it is like nannying rich kids. You can discipline your own children. With rich kids, you can't - you have to trick them into doing what you want them to do because if they throw a tantrum you'll be the one disciplined.
Anyway this is a long winded way of saying that the reason why radiology professionals not knowing the difference between radiologists and radiographers is because of the sheer fucking number of times I've had conversations that went basically like this:
Me: Hey receptionist, the images your radiographer sent us have problems, but these are a bit too complicated for me to relay to them through you. Could I have a word with them?
Receptionist who works in radiology and should know better: He's not available but I can put you through to the head radiologist?
Me, immediately getting a mental image of a coked up Gollum and getting flashbacks to the last time a radiologist bit my head off for daring to speak to them, except this one has a crown and is even crankier and even more unhinged because this the King Radiologist: WHY THS ALMIGHTY FUCK WOULD YOU PUT ME THROUGH THAT?!?
Receptionist: ????
This exchange is paraphrased, imagine me saying the same thing but in professional language and tone of voice.
Anyway. This inevitably ends up in a lot of confusion as they give me a heart attack and I try to talk them out of putting me through, but they're super confused and can't understand why I'd ring up and tell them to do something and freak out when they try to do it, until their inevitable confusion clues me into the fact that somehow this person made it into the radiology department without actually knowing what the difference between the two is, so I ask them what they think the "radiologist" does and it turns out that they're just trying to get me in touch with the head radiographer. It's even worse when I'm talking to a doctor because they should definitely know better.
Anyway. That's my rant for the day. Radiologists will drive you to drink.
They're definitely like kids though, in that they're little shits that will put you through the wringer but fuck if you don't develop some sort of Stockholm syndrome and start missing the fuckers when they're gone. At my current job one of the radiologists is even more unhinged than I'm used to (DM if you want to hear a story which would get you fired from literally any other job if you did it, but I don't want to doxx myself) and I'm genuinely sad that I won't have to wrangle the bastard even though I know he'd give me a god damn stroke from having to put up with his bullshit.

Vehicle and Cargo Inspection System - VACIS
It is the most common type of inspection performed at a port, usually on ocean freight and is essentially an x-ray exam of an entire shipment or container and is generally done at the first port of entry.
It is also known as a Customs Exam in the Logistics and Freight Forwarding Industry. The system was introduced by the U.S. Customs Service, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and the Department of Defense to inspect the cargo through law energy radiographic images. This is done either at the pier (docks) or on port premises.
Generally, this is decided by the Customs Border Protection (CBP) before the arrival of cargo at the port of discharge. Authorities at the Terminal make arrangements for CBP to inspect the cargo 48 hours after its arrival. It can be decided on random, suspected or actual law violators. If contraband is detected, the cargo or the container will be moved to Container Examination Station (CES) for a thorough VACIS exam.
