a-z challenge: list your sims in order, trying to complete the alphabet
Thank you @mmmatchasims for tagging me! This was very fun. I went through and made a list of every sim that I had listed on a "Meet The Family" page in the depths of my blog, without counting duplicates of names/characters, townies, adopted sims who came with names, or sims made by others. I then had a random number generator choose who got to represent each letter of the alphabet.
I tag @samssims, @romysims, @xiapxls, @fleeblesim, @monets-pixels, @lazarish, @indigoelfinspirit, and @bumblingbunny.
For a breakdown for each letter read more (spoiler C is the most popular letter):

Alphabet Legacy Challenge.
There are other alphabet legacy challenges out there, I’m just adding to it 🤷🏾‍♀️
Founder’s name has to start with the letter A of course.
The founder has one child and that child has to have a B name which is the first heir (example: If your founder’s name is Alissa… then Alissa’s heir is Brianna… then Brianna’s heir would be named Catalina… so on and so forth until you get to the letter Z)
The founder has to have ONE child, but if at any point after that, if more than one child is born, every child has to have a name that starts with that letter (example: if Alissa’s daughter/the first heir Brianna has twins or triplets or she gets pregnant more than once, then each child has to have a name that starts with the letter C like Catalina, Cindy, and Cynthia).
Now the easy way to complete this challenge would be to just have each heir have a child starting with each letter of the alphabet… NOPE!
Your founder must complete one of three aspirations and have the following traits.
Founder Aspiration (choose one)
Big Happy Family
Super Parent
Successful Lineage
Founder Traits
Ambitious
Neat
Family Oriented
If you have one of those mods that give you more traits.
Outgoing
Generous (only if you have For Rent EP)
After that use this Random Trait Generator for their traits and aspirations. (It’s okay if you skip the infant and toddler stages, because I do 🫣) With each heir having only one child, this shouldn’t be too hard.
Each child must be at least a 3 in every child skill and be an A student before aging up into a teen.
Each teen must have teen job, have a 5 in the skills of your choosing and be an A student before aging up into a Young Adult.
After aging into a young adult, the heir must move out and the previous gen must be switched to unplayed. (example: once you’ve completed Brianna’s gen, Brianna must move out so that she can start Catalina’s gen, leaving the founder unplayed, once Catalina’s gen is complete, she then moves out, leaving Brianna’s gen unplayed… so on and so forth.)
Cheats are allowed using MC Command Center and UI Cheats (specifically to keep their hunger, sleep, and bladder under control).
Other mods are optional but if they’ve been updated feel free to utilize them.
HAVE FUN! 😉

Starting Generation 1
Starting out fresh and attempting a legacy challenge. Going to attempt the alphabet challenge where, each generation is the next letter in the alphabet. The rules;
Founder Creation Rules
Your founder's name must start with the letter "a".
Your founder must be a Young Adult or an Adult (though Young Adult is my personal recommendation, to make it a little easier).
After you've created your founder, pick a house for them to live in! The freerealestate cheat is allowed, but I'd advise you to not go overboard with your founder's house.
Gameplay Rules
Death and Reloading Rules
No reloading a previous save after Bad Luck, but you may restart a previous save, if you so desire, after a Catastrophe. What's the distinction? Bad Luck would be something like a baby being born a boy when you wanted a girl or a fire starting. A Catastrophe would be something like an accidental death or a child being taken away by CPS.
A death by Cow Plant, if automatous, is classified as a Catastrophe. A death by the Mother Plant, however, is classified as Bad Luck.
Additionally, bringing Sims back from the dead is allowed, if said Sim is directly related to the Sim bringing them back. However, the Sim who gets brought back is not allowed to marry and have children.
Reloading a previous save to fix a bug or a glitch is allowed.
Cheats Rules
No money cheats.
No immortality cheats (ex. MCCC's Flag For No Age).
MC Command Center Rules
I'm including this as a section because of the amount of people who use MC Command Center. If you don't use this mod, these rules obviously do not apply.
Automatous WooHoo must be set to False OR Risky WooHoo (the value that decides whether or not normal WooHoo results in pregnancy) must be set to 0.
Automatous Proposal must be set to False.
Fill Household Needs is allowed, but only if it's really bad. For example, if the toddlers keep trying to go to bed, can't somehow, and are keeping everyone awake, you can use this cheat. Just try to keep its use to a minimum.
It's recommended to set the Marriage and Pregnancy checks to "Bypass All Played Households", but not required.
General Gameplay Rules
In the Settings menu, make sure the Auto-Aging setting is set to "Active Household Only".
Have Lifespan set to "Normal".
The Legacy Family
This is where this challenge differs from other Legacy challenges.
The founder's children's names must start with the next letter of the alphabet. Example: "My founder's name is Amy and her children are Beth, Carlos, and Dawn."
Each of the founder's children must have the same number of children as the founder. For example, if the founder had three children, each of those children must have three each. As such, keep your founder's amount of children small, unless you want a chaotic family tree and an extra challenge, not to mention the risk of culling.
The rule above has one exception--if any Sim has an unexpected multiple birth, then the others do not need to have another baby. The extra baby's name can either begin with the same letter as the planned baby's name (Example: "Dawn had surprise twins. Her children are Elliot, Freya, Gabriel and Grace."), or can begin with the next letter (Example: "Dawn had surprise twins. Her children are Elliot, Freya, Gabriel, and Hannah.").
Spouses are allowed to bring money into the family.
All children can be moved out of their home lots, provided that they are Young Adults or older.
Use of a Trait Randomizer is completely optional.
The Legacy Family must have a Family Cemetery. The Family Cemetery must be a large lot, to accommodate all of the tombstones that will be accumulated. The cemetery must have a barrier around its outer edge, either a fence or hedge, but otherwise can look like whatever you want it to be.
Additionally, one Sim in the family must be the "genealogist". Being the genealogist means that they must be present whenever a family member dies to collect the family member's urn/tombstone and put it in the Family Cemetery.
Succession
There are two version of succession in this challenge.
Version 1: No succession.
This version means you play rotationally between each of the families you have. It can swiftly get chaotic, so it's not for the faint of heart.
Version 2: The youngest child is the heir.
This version is less chaotic. This version means that whichever child was born last will be the next played. In the event of a plural birth, whichever child was named last will be the heir. Example: "Dawn's youngest child is Grace, so Grace is the third generation's heir. After Grace's youngest child becomes a Young Adult, they will be the fourth generation's heir."
There is no scoring system for this challenge. As such, the only way to lose is if you give up the challenge. If you make it to Z, you win!
Warning: This challenge's play test has not been completed yet. **Rules copied and pasted from https://www.reddit.com/r/thesims/comments/c76p1u/the_alphabet_legacy_challenge/ Go give them some love if you want to play along too :)

…it was the X-Men content. Specifically, I had that weird alphabet soup 6~MB file in the folder where I put all the X-Men stuff. It escaped my notice for a while because it didn’t match the reported size precisely, or the naming pattern—it’s supposed to be something like lklklklk or a 5-something alphabet soup file; mine started with e and was… I think 6.7, maybe 6.8MB. I have been struggling with that for about two weeks, so guys—if you get very random crashing that often seems to happen when somebody is aging to elder, look up that file and look for it in your CC.
In the course of trying to fix this, I threw out a lot of alphabet soup CC I might otherwise have wanted to keep, sigh. I think most of what I threw out were duplicates, but my buy/build catalog was definitely looking a little sparse in places. I guess I will have to download new, well identified CC to replace it, the horror!
On the plus side, the Uberhood downloads folder I started setting up before is untainted by the X-Men, and I also gutted a lot of old unknown stuff from that folder as well. I’ll probably spend some time just playing my classic Uberhood before starting something new, but soon… soon.
To recap, I currently have 1. A medieval downloads folder that struggles with object mesh limit a lot, containing the Megakingdom of Simland (an Uberhood as a Medieval Charter Challenge), Narniapocalypse (an MCC started with just the premade teens and younger from an Uberhood, starting from scratch and terribly traumatized), and a medieval legacy family; 2. A Disney downloads folder thats really just my modern downloads collection, containing my Disney Animated Canon-themed BaCC, and another Uberhood I started in order to test things like traits and new lifestates and new LTWs, which is currently stalled due to a bugged taxi driver; 3. My Classic downloads folder, which is just mostly modern downloads but also where I can stick in characters that amuse me, home to my classic Uberhood and the orphan challenge I like doing with my fandom characters; 4. an 18th century downloads folder, featuring Founding Pleasantview, a decades-inspired challenge involving unlocking an Uberhood over time, plus some random pirate hoods; 5. A Victorian downloads folder I haven’t started anything with yet; 6. An Ancient/Classical downloads folder featuring the Ubermega Test of Time I’ve been planning, as well as a test run setup for a more normal test of time challenge; 7. And a new modern downloads folder designed for a new Uberhood, ideally made nicer and cleaner than my other modern download collections. …I promise I’ll continue a game someday!
So a couple weeks ago, I got distracted from my assorted historic sims 2 hoods projects in favor of my Just Play the Game downloads folder, a collection of stuff I accumulated over time without fancy aging systems and traits and the like. Just classic mode with lots of CC. I got excited and downloaded a good handful of new sets and installed them.
Now my game keeps crashing utterly at random—sometimes shortly after starting to play a lot (as in a few game hours), sometimes a few (game) days in. One time it ALWAYS crashed when I took Morty Roth to a community lot to fish. So now I’m forced to do a lot of the clean-up work this downloads folder is supposed to avoid requiring.
-I keep running various scanners (DDO, SimPe GUID check, Clean Installer, Hood Checker, HCDU+), and nothing leaps out as a problem, particularly not anything newly added. I am constantly removing duplicate items, but it doesn’t seem to make much difference.
-I’m hesitant to run a 50/50 check because the crashing is very random. Sometimes I play a household for a full season and it’s fine, other times it crashes for no discernible reason. I have deleted a lot of objects so I doubt it’s my object mesh limit. It happens during gameplay, not in the catalog so it’s probably not a GUID conflict of some sort, although I could be wrong. I don’t THINK it’s all the new modern sets I downloaded, because that’s all furniture and a couple outfits—nothing mod or hack-y. I did download the LS bundle and some patches for it.
-My gut insists it’s a townie with bad CC trying to walk by, but I don’t have the faintest idea how to test for that or fix it. Maybe I could do a test lot and teleport in each townie looking for a crash, but if that works how do I find what item on them caused the crash?
-I did just discover and remove an unwanted default replacement amongst some X-Men characters I installed in this game—the last batch of CC I installed before this batch. So it might just be that, whatever it was? I don’t know yet. The only test is to try playing again, and I have to wait until after work tomorrow for that.
-the log always just gives me “access violation”. I did double check that the 4gb patch is still applied, and I believe it is, and I checked that the texture memory looked okay in GRM. It seems more like a CC problem than a game/hardware problem, although it COULD be the game running out of memory. Seems unlikely as I am not getting pink flashing, just the crash, but it could be.
-one thing I did in the cleaning process that could have been problematic was delete my Sun&Moon collection, deeming it Not Right for this particular setup. I don’t think I had touched it in this game.
-Now I am having the urge to start a new, clean Uberhood with all my nice new CC, except the one I started setting up has the same old copy of my main modern downloads folder, so it’s likely to be experiencing the same problems. Unless it truly is the X-Men content that’s the problem lol.
(I want to have Simlogical schools in districts, limit careers based on local buildings, use supernatural lifestates and 1 day = 1 year aging, follow most of the premade relationships instead of wasting time hunting for the perfect match for everybody, include the downtownie Tricou teens, and mix up the method for choosing a college—base it on expense rather than location as I have been doing).
But I would also very much like for my Just Play downloads folder to be ready to just play again and complete a round. I’ve had bad luck with Uber/megahoods even though I love them, I would like to get one off the ground. My last new one used Proportionate Aging and also featured a bugged taxi driver showing up as a walkby and forcing the game to speed 1 until I teleported him away, something that is probably fixable but not with my limited abilities. I just want to play the game.

Chapter 226 - Bread Pudding
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sul Sul, Gerbits. Today's recipe is very simple easy thing to do. You only need a few ingredients. It's also really great to make when you have bread that is going stale. And this recipe uses very simple ingredients. You can make it the night before, and pop it in the oven the next morning. We are going to be making bread pudding.
Tumblr media
The first thing you are going to do is preheat your oven to 350.
Tumblr media
The recipe and the measurements will be in the description down below. Feel free to check it out for yourself.
Tumblr media
Next you are going to use 1 tablespoon of butter and coat the inside of your pan.
Tumblr media
Break the bread in to the buttered dish.
Tumblr media
Then, you are going to melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle it over the pieces of bread.
Tumblr media
In a medium sized bowl you are going to mix together the remaining ingredients. Which includes your: eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. The recipe states that the eggs should be beaten before you add the other ingredients
Tumblr media
Pour this mixture over the bread, making sure to evenly coat every piece.
Tumblr media
This recipe says to bake it, but it works fine if you make it the night before and put it in the fridge for the morning. If you are going to do this, you just have to cover the pan with aluminum foil, and place it in the fridge until you are serve it.
Tumblr media
When that comes you can take it out of the fridge, and wait a few minutes.  Then you are going to bake for 45 minutes or until the top of the bread pudding spring back after lightly touching it with a fork or a toothpick.
Tumblr media
I hope that you liked this recipe. And again if you did the recipe will be in the description down below. Vadish, Dag Dag!

TRAINEE MISSION 003
SCHEDULE TYPE: CAREER RESTRICTIONS: Cannot be paired with another CAREER schedule type
monday, APRIL 6, around 3pm when trainees from all groups are present at the company, KIM HYUNCHEOL gathers a lot of the trainees in the company’s biggest available room. there are two other people with him, neither of which are known by the trainees, as well as a camera crew. “hello everyone. before i get started, i guess i should address the elephant in the room, right? you are not being filmed right now. at least, not yet. now, take a good look at the trainees around you. do you notice any common thread?” HYUNCHEOL watches them look at each other curiously, letting the mystery last before he speaks again. “that’s right. none of you have officially moved to other agencies yet, and none of you will be taking part in the project origin story as of this spring. but if you thought you would be getting, dare i say, leftovers this trimester… you could not be more wrong.”
with the presence of the cameras, it’s not hard for the trainees to believe him, even though they still have no idea what they’re doing here. “i am very pleased to announce you that we have received a very special offer from NETFLIX to release a netflix original FOUR-EPISODE DOCUMENTARY. and the featured stars will be you guys! our legacy entertainment trainees who are still taking part in our regular training schedule. and without further ado, let me introduce you to our special guests, LEE GWANGSIK and NAM SOLBIN who will be producing this exclusive series and will tell you more about it. i know you must all be very excited right now, but please do wait until the very end until you ask questions, should there be any.”
once LEE GWANGSIK and NAM SOLBIN are finished giving trainees all the details, they present each member of the filming crew present that day. “we do hope we will all work well together on portraying the real life of a legacy trainee to the viewers all over the world. we look forward to seeing you again, and now we will leave you with your head manager. goodbye, everyone.” NAM SOLBIN says and once the crew has all left the room, HYUNCHEOL casts a very stern look to the trainees. “yes, i know this is fun, and it’s also a great opportunity for exposure. but do not take this lightly and do not treat this as a joke. if you cause trouble, or if any appropriate word or gesture is caught on camera, it will get edited out immediately. should you embarrass us, we will not hesitate to cut you out from the documentary entirely.”
the information trainees were provided is as follows:
CONTENT
as stated previously, the documentary will follow the trainees in their every day schedule. it is meant to bring light to all aspects that come into play when you’re on the path to becoming a celebrity in the music and entertainment industry, but there will still be three “main” themes that will be the foundation of the documentary. of course, it’s not all that will be shown, as they will also show trainee go about their daily activities such a group lesson, workshops, lunch breaks, etc.
the first theme will focus more particularly on first and second year trainees, those who signed up just months or a year ago and are still navigating through the demanding schedules and expectations that are asked of trainees. they’re also a little lesser known, sometimes feeling like they’re lagging behind older trainees who have trained for years and have a lot more experience. the documentary will show the hardships that come with first joining a company and invite the trainees to share their thoughts and feelings, as well as their hopes and dreams.
to show the opposite end of the spectrum, the second theme will showcase the trainees who are in their third year and up. because just like there are challenges to being a new trainees, it can also be very difficult the more it goes on. expectations get higher, and it’s disappointment after disappointment when you see others do well and feel left behind, such as those who joined future dreams and have promoted on music shows. they will be able to share their thoughts, their doubts, and talk about the hard work that goes into preparing for a debut that seems to never come around.
the third theme will specifically focus on trainees who are also students in high school and university. it’s widely known that a lot of trainees end up dropping out of their studies to focus on training, and even if legacy tries to accommodate them as much as possible, it comes with a lot of sacrifices and hardships. a camera crew will follow the student trainees on certain days as they go to school and talk about the challenges they face.
please note that the filming crew will not be present at the company at all times, however, trainees who agree to take part in the documentary will not always know in advance when cameras will be around, so they should be in a good behavior on most days to avoid being caught doing something they shouldn’t be doing. however, if a crew is to follow a trainee outside of the company walls, they would be notified prior (and so would their school).
INTERVIEW DETAILS
trainees will be interviewed at random times throughout the filming period, and asked a variety of questions, such as their reaction to taking part in this special documentary, why they became a trainee, what kind of future do they imagine for themselves, who they admire, what’s the best/hardest thing about being a trainee, if they fear they won’t be able to debut, if they feel in competition with other trainees, how they juggle their studies/part-time jobs with training. feel free to come up with your own questions, however not everything they’re asked would end up being shown!
they would usually proceed by alphabetical order and training groups if they need to interview a lot of people on the same day. senior trainees would go first and junior trainees last. but they could also be interviewed at random times and pulled out of their regular training to answer a few questions. a lot of these mini-interviews could also happen more the closer it is to the end once a lot of the editing will be happening, so certain trainees could provide context for some of the clips selected. filming will be ongoing from APRIL 7 to JUNE 26.
RELEASE
trainees have not yet been told a definite release date, however they know that the documentary will be released sometime in the second half of 2020. it will be available WORLDWIDE, exclusively on the NETFLIX platform. the four episodes will each last 75 MINUTES.

Starting the legacy challenge. I’m wondering if I’ll get bored by it or not 🤭😂
Anyways! Let me introduce you my Olivia SIMSplicity (yep, I couldn’t choose a surname 👉🏻👈🏻): a lazy, perfectionist and hot headed sim! I believe she’s TOO CUTE.. Oh, and take a look at the Legacy Starter Home I found in the gallery: would you ever believe its value’s 1781 Simoleons?
What do you think about my sim? What about the little legacy home?
As regards the setting for my legacy challenge, here they are:
1) I’m gonna try and make this a LEGENDARY LEGACY (made up of 100 generations - scary, isn’t it?);
2) it’ll be a matriarch legacy (the founder and the heirs must be females);
3) adopted heirs are not accepted (they have to be born to the family);
4) this will be a random legacy for traits, jobs and any possible thing for all of the sims;
5) I really like the idea of a riskacy (having the founder and heirs marry the first adult sim of the opposite gender that walks onto the lot);
6) last but not least: I think I’ll make this an alphabet legacy too. I’d like to give names to all of my heirs in an alphabetical order (since I’m trying to make this a legendary legacy I’ll start again from letter A once I get to letter Z, of course!).
P.S. Olivia is going to be a doc c:

Whoops - I’m a dummy and forgot to post the gen 2 rolls. It didn’t fit into the screenshot, but family structure is a full house! (The heir, plus three other adult sims of any relationship to the heir). Most rolls won’t come into affect until the heir reaches YA, but some of them (such as random traits) need to start from birth.
Also, side note - I’m doing this as an alphabet legacy, so it’s an extremely long-term challenge. Instead of ending as usual at gen 10, I will continue on to gen 26, with the letter Z.
(I will make it clear when I’ve decided on the heir - at this point, though, I wasn’t sure.)

1, 6 and 16 for the ask game, please!
Ahh I can believe I actually got asks!!
1. What's your favorite world to play in any sims game?
Belladonna Cove from TS2 or riverview from TS3 but that's purely because I think it's a cute town lol
6. Current favorite CC creator?
Oop this is hard because I only download CC for my decade challenge. I think my all time fav is gilded-ghosts (I think that's their Tumblr handle)
16. How do you chose names for your sims?
Oooo names are my favorite things. I spend SO much time going thru names for my sims it gets kind of ridiculous (which is kinda why I love doing the alphabet legacy challenge because it gives me parameters I need to stay in) but I have about three notebooks full of names I either genuinely like or don't hate and I usually flip thru those until I find something that fits the sim that I have created. Sometimes I pick the name first and then try and make a sim that fits the personality of the name chosen. For my decade challenge I have gone thru every decade of the USA name census and wrote down every name I didn't find repulsive and I flip thru that for my decades game. Occasionally I use the randomize function of the sims 4 but not usually.

Winter 2018 Final Impressions
I’m a month late, as usual (whoops!), but here’s my final thoughts on the animes I watched this past season!
The “reviews” will be in alphabetical order!
3-gatsu no Lion S2 - 9.0 / 10 (A)
This second season of 3-gatsu was great! It’s just… a really great drama show about fighting depression (& a bunch of other character storylines)!
First off... THE BULLYING ARC WAS REALLY GOOD
extremely complicated, emotionally complex… this arc brings all sorts of emotions & angles into the forefront
multiple perspectives too: Hina’s, Rei’s, the bullied girl’s, the bully’s, the teachers’, and Akari too!
The art style can pull off both thick-outlined / bright colored style and watercolor-esque style incredibly well
it really is beautiful how it can visually portray both light-hearted and emotionally intense scenes
This season continues to show how good it is at character development for characters both main & supporting!
We get to see Rei moving through the ranks as a shogi player
and also moving through the ranks of conquering his depression! He’s improved more than ever before!
We get to learn about the white-haired master player (Souya); I liked how he has his own quicks and challenges he has in his daily life
Along with the other head shogi guy (Yanagihara)! (& how he shoulders his legacy for his friends)
Even the last episode offered some perspective from the foster mom about Rei & her kids
this show is just… really good at making normally-hated characters sympathetic, hot damn
Aside from bullying arc, this season also showed Hina preparing for the transition to high school
The finale episode was nice and sweet, with Hina saying goodbye to Takahashi and even getting a haircut!
This continues to be one of the best drama anime in recent years! Not to mention SHAFT’s best show since Madoka Magica :3
Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Z - 7.5 - 8.0 / 10 (C+)
And so ends the G series of Cardfight Vanguard… this final season I’ll say though is kind of a mixed bag
The plot had interesting ideas and moments at times, but the execution and pacing left a bit to be desired
though I will say it was definitely better than last season (CFV G NEXT)
This season didn’t waste any time getting to the main plot, as Chrono has to face off against a Diffrider right away
the diffrider stuff is continued from last season, but for the most part, it’s a new plot kicking off!
The rollout of all the new Diffrider Apostles (& them showing their strength) definitely made them look like powerful foes
not to mention the Zeroth Dragons, which were also shown to be powerful and very risky to use
Also knowing that anyone in the main cast could end up being The Vessel added some intrigue as well
the reveal that Kazuma would be the vessel definitely was a well executed twist imo~
However the pacing in places felt a bit too fast for me… the Relics subplot felt like it wrapped up too quickly, for example
the final fight against Gyze also kinda felt rushed… Gyze didn’t even have any dying words after his defeat :/
As a final season specifically, I feel like it kinda pales in comparison to Stride Gate, unfortunately
The cast was also kinda hit and miss in terms of how well they were utilized in the plot
some of the apostles definitely had more screen time than others (gredora only got like… two episodes)
plus gastille (the supposed apostle leader) got beaten sooner than like 3 other ones???
some villains carry over from last season too, such as Noa (Chaos Breaker) and the red-head punk kid
I liked all the new villains this season, personality-wise! (Also Yukari Tamura in there is a plus)
also no Am and Luna this season, really…
the previously established OG cast were integrated fine, for the most part
including Aichi and Kai getting the kill against Chaos Breaker Dragon
but the final episodes kinda just shoe-horn in a bunch of cameos that just didn’t feel natural :/
it just felt like “OH SHIT, this is the last season actually! Quick, throw in a bunch of cameos!”
this also applies to G characters, which makes less utilized characters (like Am & Luna, as mentioned before) look out of place :(
Sure, I’m saying a bunch of negative stuff right now, but I REALLY LOVE THIS CAST… I JUST WANT THE BEST FOR THEM
It’s the main reason I love CFV G, after all~
This season was definitely an improvement over NEXT for sure! The plot was interesting, I just wish the conclusion was better
The final episode basically just felt like an OVA, really… aside from the last scene, it didn’t really feel like an epilogue at all
I guess it just bums me out bc the original series got a good epilogue episode, so I know they could do it here, too…
In any case, I’M GONNA MISS THIS CAST, BIG TIME ;A;
In any case, this was a decent season to end the G series with! Not the strongest, but not the weakest either.
I’m gonna look back on my time with CFV G fondly for sure, if for nothing else than the great ensemble cast :’)
It’s gonna be weird going back to the OG cast for sure… I arguably liked the G cast better than the OG one :’D
Osomatsu-san S2 - 8.0  / 10 (B)
The consensus among fans seems to be that this season wasn’t as good as the first season
As for me, I… probably agree with that (though I still enjoyed this season!)
As with most comedy anime, whether the jokes land is pretty subjective. I feel like I didn’t laugh as hard this season? IDK
There were more “seasonal/holiday”-based episodes this time around (i.e. summer, new year’s, etc.)
What stays the same though is that this show is at its best when featuring the main brothers themselves
Skits involving the side characters (like Iyami, Dayon, etc.) didn’t make me laugh much…
I will say though that I enjoyed the second half of the season more than the first half~
Enough about the negatives, let’s talk about this season’s memorable skits / episodes!
The premiere was really good, as it poked fun at the huge popularity the show unexpectedly got xD
plus a bunch of references that *aren’t* gonna get them removed from streaming sites this time!
Jyushimatsu getting an “apprentice” with a little kid was also pretty funny~
The Karamatsu taxi skit, the spooky inn, & all the characters being stuck on an island were also good skits!
Ep. 18 (Iyami, Alone in the Wind) was also a crowd favorite, since it brought the feels for a change :’)
The finale 2-parter pulled a bait-and-switch yet again!
Part 1 was actually pretty serious, but the actual finale just has them trying to break out of hell xD
OH YEAH, I still really like the live-action stuff they do during the ending sequences
the first half’s ED was my favorite (the stop-motion of the brothers riding in the car)
I don’t have much to say about comedies generally, but Osomatsu-san is still my favorite in recent years ^^
Even though this season didn’t hit as hard as S1, it still provided some fun laughs~
Pop Team Epic - 7.5 / 10 (C+)
What can I really say about this show? It kind of defies description ^^;
Ok, yeah, it’s a sketch comedy, but it’s a really… crazy and random sketch comedy
The jokes are hit and miss (and in my experience was a bit more… miss than hit)
I never really laughed out loud at this show either
but then again, the humor here is more “being confused at what’s going on, but going along with it anyway”
There’s also a lot of modern anime references, so you might not get those jokes if you don’t follow most recent anime
Each episode has a long skit in it, plus a bunch of bite-size skits
I personally preferred the short skits over the long ones
There were a couple song parodies which I enjoyed (including the Earth Wind & Fire parody)
Also, this series definitely benefits from having an English simuldub! Some skits I found funnier in English!
OH YEAH, the voice actors (in both languages) change every episode, with female and male VAs in each episode
that enhanced the enjoyability of the sketches too, since I liked hearing favorite VAs do silly dialogue and performances!
I wouldn’t say this ranks among my favorite anime comedies, but it’s definitely unlike any other I’ve seen! ^^;
Your mileage will *definitely* vary with this one, so give it a try and see if it’s for you!
The Ancient Magus’ Bride (Mahoutsukai no Yome) - 8.5 - 9 / 10 (A-)
This was a very enjoyable fantasy drama show! Some people feel this show was overhyped, but I still thought it was really good!
I really liked the cast overall, especially Chise
She has really good character development throughout the show! She really becomes more strong and confident!
Seeing the fantastical world through her eyes was interesting as well!
Especially since those mystical elements were also responsible for her terrible childhood…
Elias was also an interesting guy… he and Chise have an interesting relationship together
Their relationship definitely has aspects that are unhealthy, but they do grow closer to each other by the end
If people can’t get past the whole premise of “him buying Chise to be his bride” though, I totally understand ^^;
They help each other learn too, which I liked to see
The supporting cast was also enjoyable! Not much to say about them individually though
The dragon keeper was nice and we got to learn about Elias’ origins through him
The dragons in general were great! Especially the old one that turned into a tree :’)
He gives Chise some good sage advice, even after death :’)
Angelica, Silky, and Stella (among others, like the other anti-hero duo) were good support characters too~
I liked Stella’s role of “normal girl who learns of the supernatural’s existence”
Cartaphilus was an… okay villain, I guess (though his methods were quite creepy indeed, which added some intrigue)
Some character designs are a bit questionable though… like who approved the vampire’s design? ^^;
Another large appeal of this was the world building of the fantastical elements!
I liked seeing all the different types of locales & supernatural creatures, both good and bad
As a low-fantasy show, this show does a Dang Good Job with the fantasy!
Chise learning more about herself and gaining confidence through these experiences were a highlight as well
I enjoyed each story arc as well, even though most of them were more explorative and introspective
This show can be dang beautiful sometimes, through both its art/animation and its stories (Thanks, Studio WIT!)
Some were better than others, but they all deliver either a heartwarming (or a dark) story
Some favorites of mine were the dragon-based ones, and the vampire loving the old man
The finale was good too! It’s unknown whether this conclusion is anime-original or not, but it was definitely a good S1 ending~
If you love low-fantasy shows, this is definitely one to check out!
Violet Evergarden - 8.5 - 9.0 / 10 (A-)
Best *new* anime (that I watched) of this past season, hands down~
Though to be fair, I still need to watch A Place Farther than the Universe… and Yuru Camp… and After the Rain…
Going into this season, this show was hyped and back and somehow… a lot of people were *disappointed* with this show?
I think it had to do with expecting a different show than what we got; as for me, I knew it’d be an episodic drama the whole time :P
But yes, this show has a (mostly) episodic plot with an overarching character arc. If that’s too slow for you, then you probably won’t like this show.
In any case, back to the positives! The first one being how good this show looks visually… as expected from KyoAni~
there’s so much detail in the backgrounds and the character elements (especially the lighting on objects like Violet’s metal hands)
this aspect is one thing *everyone* agrees on regardless, so… yeah, this show’s really pretty!
The main star (and focus) of this show was Violet herself… you can really see how she changes for the better from beginning to end
You get to see how “robot-like” she was at the start of the show, but she slowly learns about dealing with emotions of others… and herself
This character arc is definitely the “main” plot of the show, along with her coming to terms with Gilbert’s death and her war killings
The episodic plots were good in their own right, too!
Ranging from Violet’s start as a Memoir Doll to the different clients she works with, they all teach her something along the way
These sometimes focus on the side characters working at the Doll Agency too, so we get to learn more about them as well
The one that comes to mind first is Iris’ episode, where she (messily) reconnects with a former lover
Not all of them get a full episode in the spotlight, but they do get some focus scenes from time to time
Violet’s clientele episodes were the most memorable out of this lot IMO
ESPECIALLY EPISODE 10… that was the BIGGEST feels trip
I knew exactly how the episode was going to end, but I still teared up at that ending!
The finale was action packed, but also was a beautiful way to show how far Violet has come
I know some people’s issue with this show is that “it doesn’t know what show it wants to be” re: the action stuff, but I was fine with it personally
in any case, it was a pretty good book-end for Violet’s development, since she finally understands (a least a little) what “I love you” means :’)
I understand certain people’s gripes with this show, but this really is a great little drama show that *will* deliver the feels~
P.S. I also watched Fate/Extra: Last Encore this season. It hasn’t technically ended yet, so I can’t give final impressions on it right now. However, my current score for it is a 7.5/10 (C+).

The Alphabet Legacy
My Sims Alphabet Legacy Rules (that I’ve chosen to follow for my challenge):
No partners - Sims get pregnant but do not get in a relationship/move in/etc with the father. In the case that the heir is a male then the female partner can move in whilst pregnant and move out once the baby is born.
Only 1 pregnancy per generation - in the case of twins one heir is chosen at random and once they are young adults the non heir moves out to have their own life.
All Sims in the household must have a job from teen on wards.
No cheats - money cheat allowed to help expand home if needed.
With the exception of the legacy founder all Sims traits need to be randomly rolled.
Babies can be aged up immediately.
Toddlers get aged up once their birthday is notified.
Children and Teens can be aged up once they get an A in school.
Must have pets (cat/dog) at least 4 times.
No doubling careers unless choosing a different path.

Update on Neighborhood Name Change Process: Survey Results
Following the March 18th deadline to respond to the survey about the neighborhood name, Agassiz Baldwin Community (ABC) and Cambridge Community Development (CDD) staff pulled and analyzed results that Phoebe Sinclair, Community Liaison and facilitator for ANC, presented at the April 13th meeting.
In her presentation, Ms. Sinclair included the language of both the January 2020 ANC vote and the February 2020 City Council policy order regarding the community process to arrive at a new neighborhood name.
She then shared an updated list of tensions that arose during the process. The new additions included the challenges of coordination, education, outreach, and timing during a pandemic, and the concern about neutrality of the community center team, and what is meant when concerns are raised about bias.
After providing some context about the process and a brief overview of its overall timeline, Ms. Sinclair shared the following results from the survey:
Of the 447 total respondents, 88.4% said they are in favor of changing the name, 7.2% said they are not, and 4.5% said they are unsure.
385 offered a preference for a new name, and of those, three options received more than 10% of the vote: Maria L. Baldwin, Baldwin Neighborhood, Maria Baldwin Neighborhood
The next section of results broke down the numbers based on demographics:
Of those living in the neighborhood, 81.82% want to rename. Of those living outside the neighborhood, 97.03% want to rename.
Of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color)-identifying people, 95.37% want to rename
Of white-identifying people, 90.72% want to rename
69.8% of respondents identified as a woman or a girl, 4.21% of respondents identified as genderqueer or nonbinary, 25.5% of respondents identified as a man or a boy
12% of respondents identified as under 18, 33.5% as 18-24 years old, 11.5% as 25-34, 7.6% as 35-44, 9.56% as 45-54, 9.31% as 55-64, and 16.42% as 65+
80.12% of Agassiz neighborhood resident respondents age 25 and older indicated they would like to change the neighborhood name.
If you look at just 55 and older (still just neighborhood residents), that figure is 74.12%.
Following the results, Ms. Sinclair also shared some common themes she observed from the open-ended “comments” section of the survey:
Interest in a shorter name
Concern about “erasing history”
Pride and respect for Maria L. Baldwin
Concern about naming the neighborhood for a person (versus a geographic name).
Concern about over-identifying with the Baldwin School and a contrasting desire to keep the school and neighborhood names connected
Lots of strong feelings (and one book recommendation)
Appreciation for the conversation and effort, and also consternation
After her presentation, Ms. Sinclair first invited the working group consisting of ABC and CDD staff, and neighborhood residents Maya Counter and Kate Frank, to share their experiences and thoughts about the process.
“I am concerned about the desire to honor Louis Agassiz’s scientific legacy because his legacy is rooted in racism and white supremacy,” Ms. Counter shared.
“If the neighborhood had no name, and we had to select a name, we would never select the name of someone who had a racist history,” Ms. Frank said.
“This was a really interesting and difficult process to be part of,” Daniel Wolf, Neighborhood Planner from CDD, said. “We all felt the tension, pulled between the desire to clearly surface to the broader community what is at stake, the issue raised with Agassiz’s legacy, and not wanting to put our thumb on the scale.”
He shared that the team spent a lot of time creating a process to be as inclusive as possible as well as finalizing the language on the flyer and survey, and that while the process, language or framing weren’t perfect, the final product came from a considerable amount of time and intention.
Maria LaPage, ABC Executive Director, shared that she was in awe of Ms. Counter, who she said was “bold and brave enough to step up” to suggest changing the neighborhood name back in January of 2020 when she was a student at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.
“Thank you, Maya, for standing up and sticking with us,” she said.
After the team took turns sharing their thoughts, Ms. Sinclair opened the conversation to questions and comments from ANC. To allow enough time for everyone to take a turn speaking, each person was given two minutes for their response.
Tom Delbanco asked about the percentage of voters who did not reside in the neighborhood, and how the number of flyers distributed compared to the response rate.
“I am very pleased about how many young people responded,” he added. He also said that he wished the names had been ordered alphabetically, instead of chronologically, as he thought having Baldwin at the top of the list could be perceived as a bias.
He also shared that he was surprised about the number of respondents who did not live in the neighborhood.
“I think it’s wrong to say that 450 people or so want to change the name and not differentiate among them.”
Mr. Wolf shared that CDD flyered between 97-100% of the neighborhood population. He estimated that one person out of every 12-15 households responded to the survey, an estimation he arrived at based on there being 3,500 total households in the neighborhood and, on average, 2-4 people per household.
“We didn’t get 80% of the residents to speak up, but we got a greater portion of the populous that speaks up in any kind of process,” he said.
“What we saw we felt was a pretty good response rate,” Ms. Sinclair added.
“I thought the flyer was going to be the survey,” Richard Goldstein said. “The flyer was clearly one point of view and nothing else, and I was just disappointed.”
“The reason why the flyer looked the way it did is because we couldn’t do a paper survey, so there was the flyer and the digital survey,” Ms. Sinclair responded. “The flyer itself was written based on the context of the January 2020 meeting.”
“I agree with what Richard said, both about admiring Maya and seeing flaws in the process,” Fred Meyer said. “The whole survey did seem to be biased. It didn’t list on the flyer the various name choices for people to choose from.”
Mr. Meyer also voiced a concern about survey respondents not being registered voters in the neighborhood.
“Being able to legally vote here was never part of the discussion,” Ms. Sinclair said. “The stakeholders of the neighborhood are all these different groups, like institutions and students in the Baldwin School, and it was never intended to be limited.”
“One of the first people we heard about when our daughter went to the Agassiz School was Maria L. Baldwin,” said Susan Keane. “Our daughter participated in a play about Maria Baldwin, and I just felt that this neighborhood was fortunate enough to have Ms. Baldwin.”
“I just think we are so fortunate to have a remarkable person to name our neighborhood for,” she added.
“How were we able to survey those who didn’t live in the neighborhood?” Skip Schiel asked.
“It wasn’t the initial intention to go outside the neighborhood,” Ms. Sinclair said. “We didn’t ask people necessarily, but people who knew about it, who come through Agassiz for various reasons, took the survey. There was potential for a broader reach because of Harvard, Lesley, and other institutions who are here.”
“I don’t think we need to talk about things that were wonderful about Agassiz,” Jill Delbanco said. “Nobody is denying that he had positive contributions, but the fact that he had negative contributions.”
“I want to thank you and your team for being inclusive of everyone in the neighborhood, and including people who work here,” said Jennie Wood, an employee of the Academy of Arts and Sciences on Irving Street.
Following comments from ANC, Ms. Sinclair said that the next step in the process would be to present the survey results, and possibly a recommendation for a new name, to the City Council. She invited Ms. Counter to speak on that first, since she originally brought this conversation to ANC.
“I hope we can get this to the City Council soon, because this is long overdue,” Ms. Counter said.
Mr. Delbanco suggested using the language from the slide deck that Ms. Sinclair created to present the results, while making it clear that it’s not an official recommendation.
“It should be said with warmth and thoughtfulness about being inclusive, which I think is totally appropriate,” Ms. Delbanco said.
Mr. Wolf shared that his department is planning to submit its own letter to the City Council about the process from their perspective, focusing on the data and a summary of the process.
“I would think that we would like to submit that communication in parallel with the communication from ANC so that it lands on the City Council’s agenda at the same time, so if they choose to discuss it, they’ll have both points of communication.”
Ms. Sinclair noted that there was no intention for consensus, but rather to “hear the voices, get people to respond, and connect to this issue and figure out where people’s energy lies.”
“We don’t need 100 percent consensus to describe how the issue arose with us, what we did with it, and the tensions I described early on,” she added. “I think all of those pieces can be contained.”
She also added that she could put what was described in a letter to City Council, and it will not act as a vote but will “contain the complexity of the discussion and the reason it began.”
“If there’s going to be some sort of coordination between our report or Daniel’s report, we should present them at the same time, and we should see when the City Council has availability on their agenda,” Ms. Frank said.
Mr. Goldstein shared that he thought it was important to note that 447 respondents replied out of 5,000 or so total residents.
“I just want to reiterate that we got an excellent response,” Mr. Wolf said. “People are busy, and we put a random flyer on their doorstep. They have every reason to ignore it, and getting that many responses from a limited pool of people is an achievement. The numbers within those responses are very overwhelming in a single direction, and I don’t want the magnitude of those numbers to be off-scale or get lost.”
To conclude the conversation, Ms. Sinclair said that, while she doesn’t have specific next steps in mind beyond preparing a letter for the City Council, she is aware that neighborhood residents may want to continue talking or learning about this in some way.
“We can start thinking about what a next step connected to this effort might look like,” she said.

Chapter 236- Marble Brownies
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sul Sul, gerbits. Today we are going to combine to different recipes and make it into one. One recipe that my family could eat 365 days of the year,  is brownies. I have made brownies so many different ways. And today we are going to be making marbled brownies.
Tumblr media
For this recipe, I followed two different recipes. And halved them to make one marbled brownie.
Tumblr media
Thankfully I didn't have to do much math, because both recipes had preheated oven at 350.
Tumblr media
Both of these recipes will be in the description down below.
Tumblr media
We are going to be making the blonde brownies first.
Tumblr media
For the blonde part of the recipe you are going to need: 1/2  a cup of butter, 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar, 1 and a half eggs. This is easier than it sounds. Just scramble up 3 eggs in a small container, and just eyeball it. You will use the other 1 and a half for the chocolate brownies.
Tumblr media
You will also need: 1 1/2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of vanilla and optional nuts. I usually omit the nuts in most recipes, just because I sometimes don't like working with them.
Tumblr media
You want to melt and cool the margarine.
Tumblr media
Mix the first 4 ingredients: the margarine, sugar, eggs, and flour together. Gently fold in the vanilla.
Tumblr media
Pour the batter into a 9x13 inch pan.
Tumblr media
Now let's move onto the chocolate brownies.
Tumblr media
You will need: 1/2 cup of butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, 3 Tablespoons of cocoa. The other 1 1/2 eggs. 3/4 cup of flour, 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 a teaspoon vanilla.
Tumblr media
For this recipe you are going to mix the melted butter and sugar.
Tumblr media
Add the other ingredients which includes the cocoa, the eggs flour, baking powder, and vanilla.
Tumblr media
Mix together.
Tumblr media
Pour this into the same dish that has the blonde brownies.
Tumblr media
With a knife or something of that size, you are going to swirl together the two mixtures. Making a marble like appearance.
Bake it for 25-30 minutes. Check it at 25 minutes, and add time. because like my mom has always said " You can add time, you can never take time away."
Tumblr media
I love how simple brownies are. They don't need to be fancy, and they don't need any frosting on them. Plus they have chocolate. Anything that has chocolate is a plus for me.
Tumblr media
I hope that you liked this recipe. Feel free to check out the recipe in the description down below. Vadish, Dag Dag.
Just Keep Baking Description
Blonde Brownies

Day 0
For far too long I have felt detached from life, like I had lost control of myself and my world around me. It’s time to change that. After a dear friend told me about the Day Zero Project it’s something that I’ve thought a lot about. I have come up with a list of 101 goals that I want to accomplish in the next 1001 days starting tomorrow, the 27th of November. This project feels like a good fit for me. I have always been the sort to make lists, and now I have a list that will be the rudder I so desperately need when the Depression and Anxiety become overwhelming. Consider this obsession to be a new form of self medication.
I am hoping to use this blog for multiple reasons. Primarily I want accountability for myself. I have a lot to do between today and August 23rd, 2020. I want to keep myself honest about my failings and recognize my achievements. A small part of me hopes to some day motivate someone else to take up this mantle as well. Once I finished the list of goals I want to accomplish I found it both daunting and inspiring.
I’m not alone on this journey. Two friends have come up with their own goal lists and we are all starting down this road together to support and help each other. I don’t really know what to expect with the coming months, either in terms of the goals or this blog, but I do know that we will have each other to help support us through until the end.
For far too long I have let myself be a slave to my Depression and Anxiety, accepting the feelings of worthlessness and inevitability.

What is a Book of Shadows? (A Practical Guide to Incorporating a Journal into Your Spiritual Practice)
Tumblr media
by Afura Nefertiti
If you’ve begun to incorporate elements of Neo-Paganism into your spiritual practice, I’ll bet you’ve seen the term “Book of Shadows” thrown around a LOT in your studies.
But what is a Book of Shadows?
In general, it would seem that “Book of Shadows” is simply an alternate term for a witch’s spell book, but if not all witchcraft is “dark,” why call it a book of shadows? Furthermore, what if you’re not into writing spells, or copying other witches’ traditions out of their books? Does every witch have to have a Book of Shadows?
Whether you’re taking notes from spiritual teachers, writing your own spells, or simply keeping an account of your spiritual growth, a diary is an essential tool for any witch!
In this article, you’ll receive a brief crash-course on the history and interpretation of the term “Book of Shadows,” as well as some practical advice on how you can incorporate the tradition of keeping a magical diary into your personal practice in a way that resonates with you!
Tumblr media
Traditional Meanings
According to
Enhancing Your Mind Body and Spirit
magazine, a witch’s book of traditions is called a Book of Shadows because “the written word is a mere shadow of experience, intended to prompt and inspire, but not to instruct. A Book of Shadows records the legacy of a witch and passes down her magic and wisdom to other practitioners.”
Additionally, I’ve also read that the term shadows alludes to the way witches in previous generations often had to keep their traditions a secret to avoid religious persecution. Some say that even basic herbal remedies were often written in code so that anyone who happened upon the recipe would not be able to understand it. Supposedly, this is where concepts like the “witch’s alphabet” and terms like “eye of newt and tongue of dog” as code words for common herbs came from.Still, some insist that the term
Book of Shadows
originated in the mid 1900’s with the “Father of Wicca,” Gerald Gardener. It’s said that he created his book and claimed that it contained ancient information passed down from witches past, who’s books had been burned upon death. However, there is apparently plenty of evidence suggesting that he may well have dreamed the whole thing up on his own… But who knows!
Whether the history is fact or fiction, the spell book is a tool we associate almost automatically when we think of witches in contemporary culture.
Regardless of which terminology we choose, most practising witches like to write about their spiritual experiences in a book of some kind. There are as many uses for magical diaries as there are magical people! So how can you incorporate this practice into your spiritual journey?

Challenging the Traditional Methods
At first, I’ll admit I was a bit lost when it came to understanding how to start my “book of shadows.”My studies seemed to suggest that every witch needed to have some sort of “standard book of spells.” But for someone just starting out, that seemed to suggest that I had to collect and copy other people’s spells and recipes, even if I hadn’t successfully used them yet myself… and that is SO not my style! The whole point of  letting go of the religious dogma of my childhood was to go on a journey of self discovery, not to blindly initiate myself into yet another dogmatic tradition.   I began by taking notes in an informal way. Any time I came across something that I wanted to try incorporating in my practice, I’d write it down in a random notebook, or save it online. While this was a great place to start, it didn’t always flow well when I attempted to get in the zone and perform a ritual. I’d have to search through all my notes, and use this fragmented information to write up something that resembled a structured ritual, even though I had no idea what I was doing! Usually, by the time I was done doing all this, I was no longer even in the spiritual mood that had inspired the ritual in the first place!
Part of my frustration came from my compulsion to create these flawless works of art in everything I do. When I found a beautiful journal that I thought would make a perfect “Book of Shadows,” I was practically afraid to write in it. I wanted to be absolutely sure of what I was documenting, as if it would go down in history and be referred to and repeated by myself or some future readers for generations to come…  After attempting this overly thought out method a couple of times, I quickly got tired of it. I began to experience what they call “spiritual burn-out,” from trying too hard. I also noticed that all this studying and “official” documentation was draining the energy out of my rituals, and had left no time for my life long practice of keeping a personal diary… And then, it clicked!
I experienced a major breakthrough which totally changed my view of the “spell book.”
Rather than planning everything out in advance, I simply gathered some herbs, stones, and objects that “felt” right for the intention I was setting that day, and used them to create an inspiring environment around me as I threw tradition to the wind and began a free flow journal entry in my “official” book.
The Sun smiled through my window that early spring day, as if to congratulate me on finally giving up the charade and living in the magic of the moment!
The fact of the matter is that, unless you’re drawn to a very structured branch of witchcraft, you’ll likely be in the process of defining and refining your spiritual “traditions” for the rest of your life. Therefore, your “book of shadows” need not be something stuffy and official. It shouldn’t be something you think so hard about that it’s constantly pulling you into the past or future. The timeless space of the present moment is where magic happens! Turn the practice of writing in your book of shadows into a meditative experience, and it will always be something you can look back on and smile about as you evolve along your spiritual path.

How to Incorporate a Spiritual Journal into Your Practice
While the many myths and legends are all fascinating enough to keep your imagination running wild, whichever stories you choose to believe about what a Book of Shadows is are entirely up to you.At the end of the day, keeping a spiritual journal for yourself is an extremely fun and rewarding practice! Here are some ideas on how you can make your Book of Shadows an essential part of your craft:
Tumblr media
As A Spiritual Diary    Whenever you’re feeling the vibe, simply light a candle, burn some incense, and start writing! Write about a breakthrough you’ve had, your thoughts on a spiritual topic, or your feelings about an intention you’re setting. Anything goes, but make it a sacred, meditative practice by being conscious of the type of energy you’re putting into it. Keep it positive and progressive! Remember, these are the types of feelings you’re choosing to attract more of!
Tumblr media
As A Reference Book    To make your magical and spiritual studies into a fun and personal process, use your book of shadows as a place to neatly copy down notes on topics as you learn about them. For example, if you’re studying the tarot, take notes on the meanings of the cards, the various spreads, etc. Or, if you’re learning about gardening, write down tips about how to bless seeds, when to sow and harvest specific plants in your area, etc. You can make your whole book about one subject, or you can create eclectic entries. Don’t over think it! Studying  can be a fun and magical practice too!
Tumblr media
For Creative Visualisation    If you’re into the Law of Attraction (or manifesting, which is the basis of most forms of magic), use your book of shadows as a place to artfully record your intentions and visions. Describe what you intend to attract into your life in beautifully excruciating detail! Re-read your entries any time you’re having doubts about the manifestation of your wish, or look back on it to see how the Universe unfolded that experience for you. This is a great way to keep track of your progress as you learn how the Universe works!
Tumblr media
As a Spiritual Scrap Book    If you’re inspired by art, poetry, music, and quotes, let your book of shadows be a place to honour your inspirations! Print out song lyrics, glue in illustrations, press flowers and herbs into your book. Create collages of things that remind you of a magical moment you’ve had, and look back on it whenever you’re seeking inspiration in your life!
Tumblr media
As a Gratitude Journal    Manifesting more good things into your experience always starts with being thankful for what you already have. Use your book of shadows to list off things that you’re grateful to have in your life. Make it a short daily practice to keep your spirits up, or periodically write an ode to a particular thing that makes you smile. As you go along, you’ll find you’ve lived a beautifully full life, and will always be able to count your blessings!
Tumblr media
As an Art Journal    If you’re an artist like I am, let your book of shadows be a place to honour your divinely channelled creativity! Write poems in it, or draw sketches. Do full on paintings in your book of shadows, if you want to! The possibilities are truly endless!
Tumblr media
As a Recipe Book    If you’re into cooking, making incenses, oils, or anything that follows a recipe, use your book of shadows to remember what you’ve cooked up! Whether you’ve successfully repeated someone else’s recipe, or invented your own, your book of shadows is a perfect place to document your process!
Tumblr media
As a Grimoire    If you’re becoming a more experienced magical practitioner, you may use your book of shadows in the more traditional sense, to record the way you’ve performed spells and rituals that have actually worked for you and become a meaningful part of your spiritual practice. This can be as simple as writing about how you like to celebrate the seasonal festivals on the Wheel of the Year, for example.
Tumblr media
Or, don’t use any structure at all!Remember, nothing has to be written in stone! Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to let your process evolve!
So, how do YOU use your magickal journal?
