Announcement: The 2025 Blaze-a-thon Fundraiser Stream

Since moving I have applied to 40+ jobs and had no bites. But I need to make rent with my new roommate. So I'll be running a fundraiser stream this Friday. I hate having to do this, but at the same time, you folks have always been extremely patient and generous with me. So I'm adding some stretch goals.

Obviously the point is to be able to pay rent this month, but the more we push past that, the easier things will be for me. How far will we get? You'll have to tune in and find out, I guess.

It will be streamed live on my twitch channel (twitch.tv/blazehedgehog) and, for the first time in years, co-streamed on my Youtube channel (youtube.com/blazehedgehog), this Friday, February 7th, 2025.

Considering Ubisoft refuses to make Rayman games, two ideas popped up in my head about it. Both have some horror aspects and will be on their own separate posts.

When it comes to the Glade of Dreams, remembrance is vital to its residents. An anchor that keeps everyone strong from the smallest fly to most powerful gods. For many, to be forgotten is to lose your strength. However some face a more worst fate should they fade from everyone's minds.

Their existence will be erased from people's memories as they transition into Shades. Souls trapped between the barrier of the Glade and human realm. No matter how strong the bond they share is or how great the deeds they perform, all shall forget them.

Rayman becomes one such victim as over time he fades into the background. Forced to watch everyone live life without him. Over time the loneliness he felt is slowly joined by bitterness and fury. How dare they forget him after all he's done for the Glade of Dreams? Did the Thingamajig's friendship and kindness not matter?

These thoughts soon twist Rayman's shade-like form into a monster. A type of pseudo nightmare called Wraiths. These entities are quite dangerous but not just for their heightened aggression. It thanks to their lone purpose. To merge with a soul in order to manifest into reality.

All appear in the human world upon possessing their target since they need to gather strength to return to the Glade of Dreams. The chosen will become a host to two souls and can become a monster through a method known as Unleash. A technique where the Wraith surfaces by surging their bound host with power.

Rayman will soon bind himself to a person in the human world. He refuses to stay forgotten even if the kindness left in his heart doesn't want to. Purgatory will never hold down him again.

The town is repeatedly under attack by disfigured monsters from the sea, which Iris must destroy with her paint brush in order to protect her home.

My Favorite and Least Favorite Parts of the Xbox Brand

Favorites: Smart Delivery. It is nice to buy an Xbox One game that has enhancements on Series X. Game Pass. While I am not an active subscriber to Game Pass, it is nice to get to play so many games that I may not have played otherwise. Xbox Play Anywhere. I love that for many games on Xbox, I get the PC version as well with progress syncing between all devices. My LEGO Star Wars TSS and Ace Attorney experiences would not be the same without. Backwards Compatibility. Because of backwards compatibility, I was able to play some of my favorite games on modern hardware (LEGO Star Wars TCS, LEGO Star Wars III TCW, Sonic Generations, Toy Story 3) and experience old games for the first time in a convenient way (Sonic Unleashed, LEGO Indiana Jones, Fusion Frenzy, Perfect Dark, Fallout 3, Banjo-Kazooie). Some games arguably didn't need to be on the list due to being cross-gen (Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Goat Simulator, TWD: Michonne) and some games that could've benefitted from being there are missing (Call of Duty: Classic, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, Halo 2, Angry Birds Trilogy, Battle for Bikini Bottom, UNO (Xbox 360), etc) but overall, a good lineup.

Least Favorites: The inconsistency of Xbox Play Anywhere. Some games make sense why they are not part of the program such as Backwards Compatible games (Psychonauts, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, ES: Morrowind, ES: Oblivion, etc) and some games have separate achievements such as Minecraft (the pc version allows for more customization with importing worlds, resource packs, and custom skins, and it also comes bundled with Java now), but games like Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends, Goat Simulator, Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated, and Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy should have been part of the program. The Prioritization of Game Pass and Digital Games. I have heard that Hi-Fi Rush was a great game. However, because it launched on Game Pass, very few people actually bought a copy. Because of this, the game sold poorly and Microsoft shut the studio down. Microsoft, you wouldn't have had to shut them down if you gave their game a chance to turn a profit. Also, you can't buy Goldeneye 007 separately, only through Game Pass or digital Rare Replay (which now locks you out of buying a copy of Perfect Dark that is usable on 360, the license is tied to RR even though it includes the non-RR version, meaning that since the 360 store is gone, you have to buy physical copies of BK:N&B, Kameo, and PDZ if you want to play them on 360) Keeping the Xbox One around. Microsoft has discontinued the Xbox One, but they are still making games for it. They should leave it be and prioritize making games for Series X. If they aren't big hitters like Halo Infinite or Starfield, sure add Smart Delivery. But please try to make the Series X look like a viable upgrade outside of power.
