Hello Re:Zero tumblr fandom. Today I offer you a silly au I came up with while reading the light novel. Re:Zero where everything is the same but Subaru gets isekaied while crossdressing.

Some of my ideas below the cut:

- Subaru is wearing the uniform he wore during his high school debut where he crossdressed for the first three days (still insane canon information)

-Despite swearing off crossdressing, he decides to try it out again after finding the old uniform buried in his closet and goes to the convenience store dressed as a girl because reasons and then promptly get isekaied

-he also did a bit of voice training prior

-He still goes by Natsuki Subaru since his name is already adrogynous to begin with and he didn't feel the need to craft an alternate persona like with Natsumi Schwartz

-everyone thinks he's a girl so he just rolls with it to save himself the embarassment of being caught (he enjoys it deep down but doesn't want to deal with whatever that means yet)

- Most of the Mathers Mansion members are aware. Rem and Ram because they were the ones who changed Subaru's clothes in Arc 2, Beatrice and Puck because Great Spirits and Roswall because Roswall. Emilia is the only one who isn't aware.

-Rem is worse in the Arc 2 loops

-Wears Frederica's old maid uniform instead of the butler uniform

-While his Natsumi Schwartz persona is much more confident, this interation of Subaru still has a lot to unpack so he's a bit more reserved in comparison. He'll gain more confidence as time goes on though.

-EmiSuba is Yuri to me

I refer to Subaru with he/him for consistencies sake but internally I am she/her-ing him. Transfemme and/or Nonbinary/Genderfluid readings are encouraged.
