Re-reading The Fires of Heaven has made me increasingly confident in the show's read of Siuan's character being book accurate (an opinion I originally articulated here). I always encourage re-reads of the books, but I would very much encourage re-reading The Shadow Rising and The Fires of Heaven specifically if you are doubting the choices the team made in episode 7.
Cause the thing is, Siuan's central character flaw- the one Anaiya is trying to gently cite above, the one on heavy display all throughout both books via Siuans treatment of those around her, is her complete lack of trust paired with a willingness to force and browbeats others into doing what she thinks is best.
It is, ironically, a trait she shares with Rand- both are unafraid to use their power (physical, magical, political- what have you) to make others obey, and both also are unwilling to demonstrate trust and good faith out of a fear of showing weakness. It's something born inherently of their shared insecurities about their respective positions of power- Siuan's young rise to the Seat and the fact that she is carrying on her conspiracy with Moiraine and Rand's belief that he isn't strong enough/good enough/hard enough to be the Dragon Reborn alongside the tendency of the people he cares about to get hurt or have their lives ruined by simple proximity to him.
Throughout both The Shadow Rising and The Fires of Heaven Siuan uses primarily tactics drawn form the same playbook that would later also lead Rand to disaster in the back half of the series: she comes to view those under charge more for their value to her agenda then as people she should be looking after, forcing Min to remain in the Tower against her will, refusing to make any effort to console or reassure those who care about Elayne (Gawyn, Galad, Morgase) that she is well, and engaging in many actions because their are expedient without regard for their moral implications (ordering Mazrim Taim's execution without trial, lying about Logain being set up by the Red Ajah, manipulation Logain so he has no choice but to follow along with her plan). And I don't think it's a mistake that many of those actions either lead to, or directly follow, Siuan's downfall in the Tower.
In fact, Siuan begins to make the turn in her character after encountering Mistress Tharne, which largely sets in motion Siuan's character arc for the remainder of the series: realizing that she can not force the word to conform to her will, not least of all because she is no longer the most powerful woman on the planet, but more over because it's wrong. Mistress Tharne's rough treatment of Siuan, her complete lack of respect or deference, is a wake call to Siuan that gives her empathy and understanding of the way she treated others when she held power. Much of her arc there after is about emphasizing that point, first as a stilled woman serving Aes Seadi, then as a restored but drastically weakened Aes Sedai.
In this way Siuan gets a taste of what it's like to be on the other side- forced and expected to obey, constantly fighting against a system rigged against her from the start, meant to keep her out of circles of power and away from the ability to make decisions as a woman who can not channel, and then as a Aes Sedai who does not stand high enough in the hierarchy. More over it gives her perspective on why things like the Oaths and the Tower's traditions matter- on the ways the Oaths protect ordinary people and the way Tower traditions like 'staying out of the business of other Aes Sedai' and 'respect secrets of individual sisters and Ajahs' help keep Aes Sedai working together and functional. But it's really her friendships, which she is able make on now even terms, with Nynaeve and Egwene, that help her gain empathy and understanding, and in particular allows her (via her mentorship of Egwene) to try and positively influence the Tower's future via reforms to make it more equitable, less mired and fractious and cracked.
As Amylrin, we're told, Siuan ruled by playing one faction in the Tower against another, widening the cracks between Ajahs and within them so that no one was able to effectively oppose her and her agenda- that is until someone came along who could rally support, to take advantage of those simmering frustrations and angers in order tear her down. But that person, Elaida, shared many of her faults and few of her virtues- instead of playing one faction against and brow beating, Elaida (with the Shadow's help) turned the Tower into armed camps ready to lash out at each other. Siuan's tendency (often cited by even herself) to send sisters to do penance on farms for opposing or annoying her, became Elaida using the same tool to humiliate and punish her enemies and using edicts to demote them to Accepted for being weak, and Siuan's precedent for keeping secrets and working around the Hall became Elaida plotting to kidnap Rand and 'make him supple' via Galina's embassy.
And it's a neat closing of the circle, the kind Jordan really likes to play with, that Siuan's redemption for this is her training of the woman who will replace both her and Elaida. Someone who will actually fulfill both women's ambitions of leading the Tower in the last battle- Egwene. Siuan's justice against Elaida is to help prepare an Amyrlin that will be more then either she or Elaida ever could- someone who will be free of their faults, who will be able to unite the Tower as both women dreamed of doing but never could- who can guide Rand and bind the nations to him, who can serve as a general of the Light strong enough to balance the worst of the Shadow. Siuan teaches Egwene how not to do the things she did, to fall into the traps that brought her down- the arrogance, the pride, the domineering, the compromises with her own morals- and it's that teaching which, in part, gives Egwene the ability to persuade the Tower that still saw her as a Novice....to raise her to Amyrlin of it's own accord.
Siuan still should have been allowed to kill Elaida though instead of the Suffa stuff, I will die on that hill.

PHOEBE PARKER aka SPIDER-WOMAN, obtained their powers freshman year of highschool after a field trip at OSCORP INDUSTRIES. a spider had vescaped confinement and snuck vinto HARLEY KEENER's bag — PETER PARKER ended up finding it and decided to scare phoebe with it — the spider got out of the cup peter was holding it in, and while they were both freaking out about it, the spider bit her. the spider and it’s venomous qualities had passed onto her, and for the past four years, they've been NEW YORK’S one and only SPIDER-WOMAN.
they are the daughter of police chief JOEL PARKER and nures MARY PARKER. they've grown up in QUEENS, NY all her life — growing up, she was instilled with a strong moral compass from her parents. however, they always felt a need to go beyond her expectations, craving a purpose that was theirs alone. her and MJ are childhood friends, and though MJ wasn’t as close with peter in the beginning, they got super close sophomore year, and ended up getting together junior year. she was 3rd to find out…due to phoebe being terrible at lying

A YEAR AFTER THE EVENTS OF INFINITY WAR, AND THE EVENTS OF THE DEVIL'S BREATH SITUATION. after the takedown of WILSON FISK, there was huge vacuum of crime in NY and everyone is currently fighting to take control of the underworld of crime. SPIDER-WOMAN ended teaming up with DAREDEVIL and DEADPOOL to take down MARTIN LI and lock up the raft escapees.

act ii. ✷ SHE’S A MENACE TO THE ENTIRE CITY!
sophomore year, first battle with WILSON FISK...which caused him to hold a grudge against SPIDER-WOMAN for years. ( this is pulled from the wiki and is INSANE btw can we talk about that...peter you went through so much 😔 )
small partnership with DAREDEVIL
ends up teaming with police captain JOEL PARKER to take him down.
fight with MAX DILLION aka ELECTRO
after this they get recognized by the AVENGERS ( ...tony stark ) and she gets recrutied
act iii. ✷ MARVEL RIVALS IRL
fight with ALEKSEI SYTSEVICH aka RHINO
AGE OF ULTRON, ultron ends up getting defeated with less casualties. vision and pietro survive, but it is overall a win. phoebe does not participate in ultron, mainly because she's fight with rhino is during this.
CIVIL WAR, after the whole thing with ultron, tony hired MATT MURDOCK to argue his case to the government; they ended up winning and matt was hired as the avengers official and permanent lawyer. the accords were also proposed differently, and wanda didn’t have her mishap in lagos
HOMECOMING, everything goes around the same. fight with ADRIAN TOOMES aka THE VULTURE
RAGNAROK, when the asgardians are cleaning up debris from ragnarok, brunhilde, meik, korg, and the asgardians are able to escape in an escape pod; which leaves thor, loki, and heimdall stranded with the black order. loki tries to kill thanos but just ends up wounded w / o the tesseract. loki and thor are blasted into space, heimdall calls the bifrost for hulk then that leads into IW
INFINITY WAR, everything goes as planned on titan! mantis holds thanos under while phoebe gets the gauntlet off thanos. they are also able to bring back gamora and she reunites with starlord. steve returns the stones safely and actually comes back. nobody dies and the avengers all decide to stick together and move into the compound.
steve however does end up retiring, as well as tony ( listen not important to note but i LOVE sam being captain america this is all part of the plan )
act iv. ✷ ENTRE, TEAM RED ( where we are now! )
DEVILS BREATH & INNER DEMONS, devil breath doesn’t end up being as bad as it was in the game and the sinister six doesn’t end up teaming up. but phoebe ends up defeating the demons. which brings us to now, with the huge vaccum of crime in NY
ATTACK ON THE MANFEDI CRIME FAMILY, phoebe ends up taking down the manfredi crime family with the help of officer JOEL PARKER. this event kind of ends up bringing a mafia cold war in NY — getting the maggia gang involved but it doesn't become a problem till a little after far from home
events of FAR FROM HOME, some of the plot goes differently since obviously tony isn’t dead, and phoebe is not in love with MJ. but the main plot is relatively the same and instead of MJ finding out — since she already knows — peter is the one to realize. and also beck doesn’t reveal her identity ( and FUCK beck omg... )

ITSV, phoebe was teleported into EARTH-1610 . her spider-sense were telling her to go to BROOKLYN VISIONS ACADEMY, so she went there and ran into GWEN STACY. both of them immediately guessed that they were spider-people so they decide to work together to get back to their earth's
ATSV, the wrong GREEN GOBLIN gets sucked into phoebe's universe, and she ended up seeing that it was HARRY OSBORN under the mask. but this is where she meets MIGUEL O'HARA. he helps me takedown green goblin and stop her panic attack about it before it can start. with phoebe's eyes and persona being almost identical to GABRIELLA's it didn't take him long to recruit HER.

I want to research them, but they're locked away. Not to mention the boredom that comes with age. There's only so many magical crystals and artifacts I can get my hands on, and there's only so much I'm able to research. I like to spice things up a bit from time to time!"

Ooh, continuation of that union idea- Ochako and Tenya get asked to be Izuku's undercover bodyguards after a series of "accidents" nearly kill him. By the end they may be flirting. Just a little bit.
Here's the thing.
Izuku likes men and women. He's always done so. Tenko just tells everyone he likes games when he's pressed (but Izuku saw how the guy is always speaking with that one guy with the burned skinned and how hickeys sometimes appear after late nights).
But seeing Ochako suplex a guy who tried to pull a gun on Izuku (which really points to it being a Commission incident because it's still almost impossible to get guns in Japan without strict rules) and Tenya roundhouse kick a guy who obviously tried to push Izuku off a bridge...
It's hot.
"You bisexual disaster," snorted Tenko as the man sat beside his brother.
"I am surrounded by pretty people," Izuku groaned. "How is recrutiment?"
"Almost every sidekick is in agreement. Ingenium is in favour to. I'm courting KamuI Woods. He's interested," Tenko replied. "...This is going pretty well. Other than everyone trying to kill you."
"Don't remind me," Izuku sighed. He spotted his friends coming his way and sat up. Tenko laughed. "How is Dabi?" Izuku asked.
That shut the other up.

Unrelated but I’m always so excited to receive asks and notes on this blog. While I’m afraid I’ve no active new content to share, I do check in quite often so feel free to drop a message no matter how long it’s been since my last post.
We should receive news as to what the Tokyo Disney Parks have in store for us some time in July. There’s no confirmation that the Recrutiers will return again but fingers crossed!

Don't worry, I saw ^^ I'm really, really happy and flattered that you're all enjoying the fic so much, it's definitely keeping me going. And yes. Seofon pack bonded with Terra before he started being remotely interested in any of the people around him. That's the truth. I can't blame him at all
Finally I'm happy to report that he did let me sleep but woke me up an entire hour early with yet more ideas. If he's always that pushy I don't blame his anon at all for their restraint
Also a bonus thought, if you're interested, not that it matters to the story in any way. On one hand, if Seofon recruited the twins, Threo and Seox he'd be 4/4 for the feral teens, but I'm still a big fan of the idea that he recruited Eahta whom Anre knew beforehand
But I like the idea that it was a pretty even split, with each of them recruiting four of the other members. Then again, it being 5/3 for Seofon would also be on brand, especially with how he's acting like he doesn't care about any of this. But on the other hand, Anre has those mafia connections via Rei and who knows what else...
In any case, Anre recruited Tweyen and this meeting is the first real conversation that she's had with Seofon. He was present when she fought Terra, because Anre and Seofon always handled that together, I've decided, but he didn't really say much at the time. Not sure if this is anything, but that's what's on my mind these days
