Lizzies Life Series Shadow-curse

Since Lizzies last life memories began, shes had this... curse. It grows and shrinks as it pleases, and as she also notices, fluctuates with strong emotion, especially stress, fear and anger.. She has trouble seeing out of her right eye, some days better than others. When it grows quickly it burns her skin, often weakening her senses. If emotions are strong but not outward, it simmers and itches with a slight burn feeling. Its appearance is almost otherworldly, not being affected by shadow or light easily. Its texture is easily indistinguishable from her skin and hair texture, but lacking in pores and imperfections.

Last Life

In last life, after discovering this, she shares it with her closest companions, Cleo, Ren and BigB, and when she eventually has a falling out with the fairy fort, she becomes paranoid and terrified her secret will surface and she will be viewed as a monster. She becomes terrified of her allies and when she reaches her red life she runs from Ren, severing their bond.

Secret Life

In Secret Life Lizzie decided that getting close to NO ONE was better than losing anyone. Having less allies and no group members made her feel more safe... but also more lonely. She realized this made her curse bubble up more, so she tried to host a party, but only Joel showed up. That would be it. No friends then. But no friends also meant no one to have her back. While trying to complete her task, she fell into the void on her last life, being the first to break the cycle of dying first. Her body was overtaken by the curse, seething in dark silent pain until wild life. She doesn't talk much about what happened in the void. All that is known is the darkness and pain. Was there more?

Wild Life

Lizzie can't deal with the pain alone. In the beginning she searches for a team that she can hopefully make friends with and finds Scar and Jimmy who enthusiastically accept her into their group, forming the bamboozlers. Lizzie begins to exhibit 'random' flare ups that she can t judge. Trying to hide her curse from Jimmy and Scar might prove difficult ....

Bdubs - bow and arrow exclusively (uses the arrows as little spears in close combat)

BigB - no one knows?? sometimes he looks at someone and they just take damage randomly

Etho - classic diamond sword

Gem - guitar shaped like a battle axe (used as a battle axe)

Scar - smaller blades, like knives

Grian - prefers his fists, but also happy with explosives

Impulse - throwing knives and stars

Martyn - comically large hammer

Lizzie - anime magical girl giant sword

Mumbo - effectively redstoned up a literal gun (advanced bow and arrow)

Pearl - flamethrower and i won't elaborate

Ren - teeth and claws

Skizz - uses two large drumsticks (for hitting people, blocking by crossing them, and uses them for mobility as vaulting poles)

Scott - uses things from his environment more than anything

Joel - greataxe

Jimmy - very versatile, uses whatever his teammates have to hand

Tango - uses lots of smoke bombs (and real bombs)

Cleo - daggers

Life Series but beefburgered

Hello my tumblr 👋 I'm not dead, I've just been fandom jumping then felt the urge to make somewhat of a reference sheet for the lifers for future use. Yap session about the designs below:

Grian: Very standard Grian. You can smell the Cherrifire influence in this one. I imagine the turtleneck being wide enough to hide his mouth behind as he stares menacingly into the distance. His eyebrows are practically fused with his eyes but it's probably best not to think about it too much. I have considered placing a literal waffle on the back of his head but it might be tedious to draw continuously.

Scar: Everytime I draw Scar he looks weird. It might be because I'm not too good with longer faces, but that's how I'd imagine the character looks like. I think I'll switch up this design a lot as his eyes and hair bug me sometimes. Maybe experiment with the scars too. Artists make him look really cool as an explosion victim.

Mumbo: The slicked back hair looks right. Extra strand sticking out to make him look a bit disheveled. I wonder if I should commit to making him look more goth/vampire-like. He gets a tiny mullet because it fits.

Jimmy: Wanted to make him look a bit bird-like so I tried to express that with the back of his head. I hope he looks pathetic enough.

Joel: Fairly shrek-like. I wanted to make him look grumpy so he has a shorter and broader build. Also decided that one green hair streak wasn't enough for my satisfaction. His brown coat has a honeycomb pattern, but that's not too obvious. Also, he is shorter than Lizzie.

Scott: Pretty sparkly guy. I wanted him to look quite friendly. He actually has thick eyelashes here instead of eyeshadow but I'm not against that idea either. Kind of miss his Last Life skin.

Impulse: I don't watch Impulse too much so this design was based on some common interpretations of him. The horns are a cute idea.

Skizz: Very standard Skizzleman design. The ripped sleeves and the arms are probably my favorite thing. Maybe I should add more hair on the arms.

Tango: People tend to draw him really different, so I took aspects from designs I liked and put it here. Both his sclera and shades ended up being red, but I thought the sclera was iconic and the design looks more interesting with shades on. I'm not sure if I'd prefer for Tango's hair to literally be made out of fire. I tried making it resemble fire instead.

Etho: Attempted to make him a contender for Top 10 Hottest Anime Men. I'm always interested to see how people work around his definitely unrecognizable Minecraft skin (sarcastic). Like other designs, I think I'll add a maple leaf on his clothes or something.

Bdubs: He looks more terrifying than I intended but that might be the point. Might change his hairstyle here. I'd like to draw his white-haired skin at some point.

Cleo: Very standard ZombieCleo design. The hair was based on their VTuber but I decided to use the clothes from their Minecraft skin. The stitches are the fun part. I might make her hair curlier.

Martyn: Very standard InTheLittleWood design. You can smell the Cherrifire influence in this one ×2. The little beard is a wonderful addition I think.

Ren: Picking between black or cyan shades was tough. He also gets an obligatory ponytail because uhm. Tail. Dog. Get it? I also took a good while figuring out how I should go about his ears. I wasn't satisfied with human ears but I needed the shades to fit somehow. You can smell the Cherrifire influence in this one ×3

Lizzie: Yes, I have watched Empires S1 and S2 and it shows. Whoever first decided to give Lizzie cat-like buns should be given an award. I like the idea of heart-shaped buns too so maybe I'll alternate on that.

BigB: Very standard Bigbst4tz2 design. Don't let his friendly interaction with Lizzie fool you but he tends to stare into your soul for uncomfortably long periods of time. The highlights in his eyes come and go.

Gem: Very standard GeminiTay design. She probably has my favorite skin among this batch. I heard there was a shortage of elf Gem (there isn't) and I have decided to contribute to that (because there's no such thing as too many elf Gems).

Pearl: Inside Pearl are two wolves and I decided to draw the one that's sopping wet. Her hair has a few crescent-shaped curls. I'm definitely looking forward to drawing her more intimidating side sometime.

Overall I was hoping to make the designs simple and mostly accurate to skins/pfps. Nothing too special, other than a few pointy ears I sprinkled around here and there. I might add more to the designs the more I draw them.

Referring to the previous point, the way their eyes are opened match their Double Life soulmates (Scar-Grian are fully opened, Pearl-Scott only have one eye open, Cleo-Martyn only have one eye half-opened)

More Double Life easter eggs:

Scott and Cleo are both touching their faces the same way, since they're chosen soulmates

Jimmy and Tango are both in the corner

Skizz is punching Impulse because Bdub's skin looks beaten up

it all started with me wanting to illustrate the moment grian realizes who his soulmate is and then i watched that everen animatic "running up that hill" for the 100th time and got particularly stuck on the fact that bigb had ears cause hes partnered with ren and that sparked the thought "what if all the soulmates had matching traits like that"

i also thought about rancher duo 🐤🔥 waaaayy too much and made a ten page (angst?) comic about em. (might post it, might not 🤷‍♂️🤭)

Imagine Martyn curled up in the corner of his cell, covering his ears bc he doesn't know how to block things out and everything is so loud.

Imagine Scott transforming from an aquatic creature back to his regular form, but he still has gills, and he panics when he can't breathe.

Imagine Jimmy turning in invisible for the first time and not knowing how to turn back, and he thinks he's stuck that way forever.

Imagine Ren transforming the first few times, but there's always something off about him. He looks eerie, like something from uncanny valley.

Imagine Scar not knowing his own strength and jokingly punching Mumbo, only to send him flying into the wall and causing his death.

Imagine Cleo trying so hard to get Mumbo and Skizz to act the way that they used to when she summons them, but it's never truly them. Something is always wrong.

Imagine BigB being terrified when he summons the creaking for the first time, not realizing they're on his side and thinking they'll attack him.

Imagine Gem astral projecting as an escapism, talking to Mumbo and Skizz and "leaving" the facility, but she can't truly leave.

Imagine Impulse and Tango nearly getting to escape with their powers, their friends cheering them on from inside their cells, and just when they're in the clear, Impulse gets tranquilized and falls unconscious. Tango can't bare to leave his buddy behind. They both get collars that block their abilities and heavy monitoring after that stunt.

Lizzie feels bad about her power. She's tried to escape as well, but when she realized the blindness affected her friends, it freaked her out so much that security was able to catch up to her and take her back to her cell.

Imagine Bdubs sleeping diligently through every night and dealing with nightmares of the hell they've all been put through so his friends don't.

Imagine Pearl wishing she could fly out in the open air, desperate for that kind of freedom that she knows she will never have.

Imagine Etho trying to bring down his mace to pretend to hit Bdubs, and when he move to the side to dodge, it actually puts him in the way of Etho's strike. The absolute terror that fills Etho is so bad that he never jokes like that again, even if it barely hurt him.

Imagine Joel looking around and analyzing the rooms, thinking of how he could scale the walls with his ability to escape through an air vent, but he can never bring himself to do it because he refuses to leave Lizzie.

Imagine Grian being physically and emotionally strained trying to learn everyone's powers and how to properly use them, wishing he just had one of his own instead.

Imagine Skizz and Mumbo both dying (Skizz due to the intense tests and Mumbo due to the effects the testing had on Scar) before they had a chance to gain powers of their own. Don't imagine those powers being just what the group needs to escape.

My ideas for the superhero names for the wild life people

Some are better than others

Ren-Roleplay: Very self explanatory. He’s a theatre kid and borderline a larper, and his powers are that he pretends to be someone else, it works very well, and it’s a fun superhero name

Martyn-Spyglass: There’s the obvious connection to the last life spyglasses, but it’s also a reference to how he’s, you know, a spy. He listens in on peoples conversations. Also, spyglasses are traditionally used to watch people, but he listens to them. I think it’s a bit clever

Gem-Projectile: Obviously it’s a play on astral projection, but also on Gem as a person. A projectile is a thing in motion, and is commonly used to refer to things like bullets and arrows that are being launched. Gem is a killer, I think it sorta works

Joel-Triple Threat: Extremely self explanatory. He can triple jump, and like that’s about it. He’s a threat. Not all of them are bangers. I just like the sound of it lol

Jimmy-No-Show: I just love the idea of a superhero with invisibility powers’ name being No-Show. I think it sounds really cool. Not particularly personal to Jimmy, but I like it

Lizzie-Voidable: Play on the word Avoidable, since she sometimes used her powers to disappear. Also a reference to her death in Secret Life. (Also I just looked it up to double check and apparently it is a word, for when for example a contract is able to be made void. She made the canary curse void, in a way, so I think it still works)

Scar-Giddy Up: Simple, he rides people. Couldn’t work in the knockback/“Scar Smash” aspect of it, but you know make that a surprise.

Etho-Air Borne: He launches himself into the sky, specifically by using wind charges, aka air. He also has an infinite supply of the charges, that I think he can use to attack people? So yeah, possessor of air.

Bdubs-Clock Out: I really like this one. Because yes, it’s clock like how he can slow time (and also his obsession with them) but then there’s also, you know, clocking out like from work, probably to go home and rest, working in his bed ability. Also it sounds like Knock Out, which is a thing you can say about someone who’s fallen asleep when very tired.

Tango-Slip N’ Slide: A very fun superhero name. Slip, of course referring to the ice, and then slide technically referring to it as well but also his speed. Also, rolls straight off the tongue.

Grian-Mastermind: Copycat and Mimic are such obvious names for someone with the mimicry ability, I didn’t wanna go for it. Instead, mastermind referring both to his status as the creator of the games and the one who came up with everyone else’s powers, but also how he’s the master of his own fate, constantly changing up his powers. It’s fun, and it sounds a little villainy which we love

Bigb-Cracking: Of course a play on the word creaking, but also referring to the sound that both the mob and the surrounding trees make when defeated, showing that he has the control to both create and destroy them at will.

Cleo-Necrosis: Didn’t wanna just go with Necromancer, that’s boring. Necrosis is the death of cells in body tissue, essentially creating dead skin. They’re a necromancer that literally summon zombies, and those bad boys have plenty of dead skin.

Impulse-Flicker: He can teleport, just zapping here and there with no problem. You blink and he’s gone, as if he’s flickered out of existence. Also an homage to flickering lightbulbs, and he does have a history of light sources. I think it’s fun

Pearl-Gravity: She can launch herself into the sky, ignoring gravity completely. It’s also a play on her moon motif, a little bit.

Scott-Shifty: Yes, he can shift into animals, but it’s also related to his sly and cunning nature, and how because of his power everyone became insanely paranoid over every mob

I like superhero names a lot 👍
