what snacks do the scoobies order/sneak in when they go to the movie theater

ok I thought about this a lot during my shift so this is my very loose opinion.

BUFFY: gluttony is a sin in the bible and she's not seeing the pearly gates. I love this character trait for Buffy we don't see often, but it's cute to me. I think she prefers snack cakes like tasty kakes or hostess stuff, so she'd bring that in. If she was buying at the theater itself maybe buncha crunch or anything milk chocolate (she likes it sweeter) for a drink either diet coke (skinyyyyyy) or lemonade tbh lol

WILLOW: one of those weird kids who wasn't allowed candy. She opts for boring stuff like fruit snacks, raisinets, or just popcorn with a little butter. Sneaking stuff in most likely fruit lol (like me!) If she were to get candy she'd go for pretty random things like muddy bears, sweedish fish, cookie dough bites, or dots. For a drink honestly fruit punch or water.

XANDER: If Buffy is not seeing heaven for gluttony, Xander will be right by her side in hell. I feel like he has very similar taste to Buffy, but instead of chocolate opting for fruity flavors/crunchy stuff if he's not having a snack cake. Also probably sour candies. Nerds, sour patch kids/Watermelons, that sour spaghetti candy, or sour/pain skittles. If he's sneaking something in maybe cheese based snacks like Doritos or hot chips. For a drink either doctor pepper or an icee lol.

GILES: He has a sweet tooth 100% to me. Quit smoking by wearing too many nicotine patches and having like four Lollipops a day. But I don't think he'd like most American candies so he'd steal from Willows baggie from fruit. But if he were to get Candy he'd go for darker chocolate like junior mints or snowcaps. If it's the mini ones he'll get kitkats and complain his teeth hurt the whole way home. Other than that overly buttered popcorn and for a drink probably water lol bc he doesn't like carbonation.

OZ: same as Xander I think, leaning more into sour snacks but to an extreme. Who the fuck brings war heads into a movie. But if he orders something it's the hot food options like preztel nuggets or nachos. For a drink Sprite and he drinks it with the sour candy in his mouth and scares everyone.

TARA: too shy to like actually order snacks. She brings in her own mix of stuff. Maybe some oreos or goldfish, for a drink a cherry coke.

SPIKE/ANGEL: blood bag. Or spike just brings random shit from Giles's house and Giles gets really pissed off.

sea legs washi stickers!

washi stickers, if you don't know, are made with the same paper/adhesive as washi tape and therefore aren't the same as "I will stay attached until the end of time" vinyl stickers and are actually very easy to peel, restick, tear, etc with no residue. they're good for stationery decoration and collection, but also. you can give this roll of stickers to a kid and let them go crazy without submitting yourself to having stickers on your furniture for the next 20 years

At work we use some large tape sometimes. And this, of course, is dispensed from a large tape dispenser.

Usually when I'm working, there are two of these within my reach. Here is one.

Note all the necessary parts. The big, heavy base with the serrated blade on one end for cutting off a length of tape. The roll of tape itself, which rests in a properly shaped recess in the base, with its loose end stretched out to rest on the blade. And the plastic cylinder, perfectly sized and shaped to fit snugly inside the tape roll, with its nubs on each side to fit into the appropriate small notches in the base.

A marvel of engineering, optimized to enable efficient dispensing of tape via maximum smooth rotation of the tape roll, and minimum unnecessary movement of any kind.

Now here is the other.

What the fucking fuck.

Now. I am an avid student of the great MacGyver, and I have the highest respect for those who face the loss of a vital tool by improvising from whatever they have. I am, after all, the human incarnation of a pattern recognition program. Which, apart from the bad applications like bigoted conspiracy theories, has three valid applications in human life: Puns, Fanfic Headcanoning, and fucking MacGyvering.

And this makes the spirit of MacGyver audibly cry.

So, you lost the plastic cylinder that allows the tape to rotate in there. I see your challenge: you had to find something to put in place of it, and the nearest cylindrical object was an oral syringe. It was nowhere near the shape to fit snugly in the roll, nor did it have nubs that could settle into those notches, but in desperation you still tried. You set it across the recess in that base; you hung that roll loosely over it-- and then, lacking any sane method whatsoever to hold it in place, you just... used tape.

Mountains of it. Layer upon layer.

It's... it's hideous, of course, to the aesthetic eye. But it's also hideous to any sense of function. How do you replace that tape roll when it runs out? Just peel and restick, maybe add another few layers? And-- have you even noticed how the placement of that syringe doesn't hold the tape in the right place? How you can pull the end to try and cut off a piece to use, and the entire roll moves forward til it almost bumps against the blade? Because of how the whole point of the cylinder being that wide was to keep the roll in place, and the syringe is maybe one-sixth that width and therefore does not work?

I want to shake my head and mutter, "Amateurs." But it would be incorrect. Someone did this on the clock, as part of their paid job-- therefore, as a professional. And the origin of the word "amateur" evokes one who does something purely for the love of it. This tape job was never loved for a moment of its miserable existence. This is the work of someone hating, with a vehement passion, every single detail of the task.

So I put it out of its misery.

I had access only to the same assortment of office and pharmacy supplies as the original MacGyver wannabe.... so I, too, was lacking a proper sized cylinder. Nor did I have anything of the right proportions to fit into those notches-- and I realized, even if I improvised such a thing, it would not serve the purpose as well unless it was of a large enough size to hold the roll snugly in place.

The only alternative, I realized, was to use the same syringe or something similar-- and rig a mechanism to hold it pulled backward-- countering the pull of the tape-end toward the blade, and preventing the whole roll from following that pull.

There was no string at hand, but there were paper clips enough to build a chain, and binder clips to attach to the ends of that chain, capable of clamping around the ends of the syringe. In the absence of a solid way to anchor that chain onto the back of the base, I even resorted to my own use of the tape dispenser's humble offering.

And it fucking works.

Right image I did at like 2 am so it's much more sketchy and low quality (her real eye is inspired from scrapbrainzones, but I'm going to edit the color to a paler blue because for some goddamn reason I kept doing darker blue for angels eyes when they're pale blue- idk i also for long time didn't do angels fucking freckles so I'm insane clearly-)

....which now i see the freckles aren't showing up well either in the fucking ref image with fallen heirs angel but I'm too lazy atp to fix it and take another picture AND resticker over it- man.

anyways kat is on the list next but when I'll be done god doesn't even know because man. Either way with that note have fairly old doodles now and I end my ramble for the day

Next up are the Squirtle stickers to go with the sticker book! I definitely went overboard with the stickers, but that’s kinda my job as auntie; spoil the baby.

And then there’s the stamps! It started off with just the Plusle and Minun stickers, because they’re my absolute favorite Pokémon, but quickly became more.

My niece’s favorite holiday is Halloween, which means she also adores ghost types, much like her mom.

I’m a nurse, so, Chansey and Audino are a given. I think I’m gonna stick them somewhere on my workstation. Gotta have little things to help make you smile on busy/brutal days.

And then the Eeveelutions because … who doesn’t love those funky fox/dog/cat/rabbit things?

hanamaki takahiro big fan of stickers!!!!!!! he puts the nice vinyl ones on his water bottle laptop notebooks etc as decorations they’re Everywhere they’re so unique and fun and cutesy why wouldn’t he customize his things he just really likes stickers!!!!!

buuuut his favorites are the ones that aren’t strictly meant to be reused they’re “one and done” the ones he has to restick. fruit stickers item labels barcodes gold stars price tags anything he can get his nails under to pry off and stick somewhere else. sometimes these become permanent decorations with the other real stickers but usually he just sticks them Elsewhere . on the bottom of shoes on the back of issei’s shirt on the underside of desks and walls of bathroom stalls on the inside of hajime’s jacket hood on the legs of the volleyball carts and the handle of the broom in the closet on tooru’s backpack and in his hair on the cover of textbooks and all over blank notebook pages on video game controllers and doorframes and unsuspecting bystanders anywhere he can reach whatever happens to be closest and in need of stickering. it’s not usually done maliciously it’s more like he sees a sticker he peels it off he has it on his finger what now. if there’s nowhere to put it he sticks it on his leg to deal with later sometimes it’s hours before he remembers or sees it again he’s just walking around with a sticker leg no one pays any mind it’s one of the least unusual aspects of his appearance. yeah hanamaki takahiro and stickers !!!!!he’d wallpaper his room with them if given the chance
