Here’s a sketch of kaede from my ReV3 Au, it’s basically my redesigned and rewritten version of Danganronpa V3 as well as the characters since game and plot makes me angry 😭 I tried, did the thing where you trace over a danganronpa sprite but add shit to it and what not. I haven’t gotten the Dr style 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 yet but I will!!!! Anyway, I’ll probably post a bunch of ReV3 Au stuff on here so YAY if you’re into that

Rumors

I'm back from vacation and I'm ready to talk about RE again.

Talk about the rumors that, like the wind, recently blew everywhere. Just my thoughts.

Rumors are sometimes quite an interesting thing, because when the finished product is released, you can check who was right and who was wrong. But rumors are just rumors. Even the most "reliable" source can know only distorted "truth". It's like gartic phone, even if a trusted person received truthful information, it may have been distorted or embellished many times. So I recommend not believing anyone, but only trusting what we have now - canon and many hints in recent games.

Of course, often new RE games are not a continuation of previous parts, but the storyline is necessarily connected to all parts. Not necessarily re9 has to start with re8's finale about Chris' clones and the Blue Umbrella scandal (let's call it the "BSAA mess" for short), but it's an important part of the story that will be touched upon sooner or later anyway. It could be DLC for re9, or it could be an entirely new part like rev3.

Knowing that, I'm even more interested to see what re9 will be about. After all, if the story is really going to be about something new, that something should be as interesting as all those details that have been scattered in recent games (Oldsker, "BSAA mess", and so on). Also, if re9 doesn't touch on the "BSAA mess", it would mean that this will be given more reverent attention in the future. Maybe in order to talk about the "BSAA mess" we need to be prepared, and re9 will be bringing other characters up to that story arc so that in re10 that "turning point" will finally happen.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves and also not get upset. Either outcome is a good one.

i also see people banging the "revelations 3" drum as though rev3 wasn't canceled back in 2021. but it was canceled back in 2021.

i personally think that we'll see an RE6make before we see an RE0make. they already have character models for leon, chris, and ada they can use, and a lot of assets from other RE engine games can be repurposed for environments in 6. RE0 will require building from the ground up, and i'll bet cash money it comes part-and-parcel with an RE1REmake, which they're holding behind an "IN CASE OF EMERGENCY BREAK GLASS" case.

Almost all of these are Fantasy High fics written before the recent premiere of Junior Year, and the rest are Star Ocean the Divine Force fics. I figured a post to share all of them could be fun, though I will separate them into categories so you can browse more easily.

Category One: Slice of Life Fantasy High Fics

The Making of Adaine O'Shaughnessy: A slice of life fic showing Adaine contemplating a name change to better fit who her real guardian is!

What it's Like to Trance: An examination of Figs life growing up, my head cannon for how Trancing works in the FH universe, and some sweet moments between Fig & Gilear and Fig & Ayda

Random Encounters Volume 1: a collection of 300+ word short ficlets that I couldn't get over 1k. This one includes Fig Driving Safe, Riz learning to sword fight, a sisterly moment, and a look at Gorgug making things.

Spell Bound: a fic about Fig doodling after finding a page in Ayda's spell book set aside for doodles of Fig.

Random Encounters Volume 2: another collection of those short stories, this one includes Gorgug calming his gf down, an examination of Kristin's love for Tye Dye, the wizard girls sharing a moment, and Fabian spending quality time with his bike.

In Concert: Fig and Ayda steal a moment after The Cig Figs perform, and Fig recognizes the stability Ayda brings to her life

Random Encounters Volume 3: this one features A look at what makes Riz tick, a sequel to 'In Concert' following Gorgug and Zelda, Aelwyn getting some new clothes, and Jawbone having a long night

A Very Long Night (Extended): Jawbone spends some time pondering his two not-quite-daughters and how he came across them, an extension of the fourth story in REV3

Trio of Transitively Best Friends: Adaine finds herself as the go to girl for both of her two best friends in the world, Ayda & Fig, as they start dating.

Becoming Sisters Again: Adaine and Aelwyn share some vulnerable moments as they relive a brief and almost forgotten moment of bonding from their past.

Random Encounters Volume 4: this one includes Fig and Jawbone deciding he isn't dad number 3 for her, Boggy spotting an intruder, Riz telling his dad about the little things, and Ayda seeking immortality

Flying Away: Fig mentions marriage and Ayda has too many feelings about that, so she flies away only to get stuck in a rainstorm.

Pockets: Ayda decides to accessorize to make her flying dates with Fig a little easier.

The Smell of Fire in the Morning: Fig and Ayda are separated for a period of time, leaving Fig missing the small things about her

Overthinking It: Ayda is worried that Fig will get bored, so asks Adaine for some advice.

Movie Night: Fig has Ayda over for a sleep over

Category Two: The B.A.D. Kids, A Fantasy High Spy AU

Quick note for my convenience, this category will be in Chronological Order of events, because that's the order they are in the series on AO3.

The Abernant Sisters have a B.A.D. Time: After realizing her father is going to do something horrible to her little sister, the two run away together to Solace, where they join the Bureau of Advanced Detectives to hide from their powerful family.

Enter The B.A.D. Kids: Fig is recruited into the Bureau of Advanced Detectives, and is assigned to a team of spies, analysts, and soldiers who are all working on one goal, dismantling a covert criminal organization seemingly founded by Kalima, a former B.A.D. Agent.

Silent Strikes, Born of Shadows: A Kalina POV one shot following her setting a trap for the B.A.D. Agents on her tail.

The Analysts: Adaine and Ayda discuss their lives as they take a short break from work.

In B.A.D. Taste: With Fig sidelined, Fabian is put in the hot seat to track down notorious criminal mastermind Kalina as she flies the country and sets sail for Leviathan

B.A.D. Luck: a WIP follow up to 'In B.A.D. Taste' following Ragh as the battle against this shadowy criminal cabal becomes less about subtle machinations and more about open conflict.

Category Three: Star Ocean Fics

Another Author's note here, I understand most of you are here for Fantasy High stuff, but please check this fic out. If you like women who like women, you might like this!

I'll also only list one fic despite writing several. Why? Because the one fic is actually a remastering of the others, where each fic is a chapter, and each one was fixed up and edited for a better reading experience.

The Princess and Her Doctor (Remastered Collection): Follow the on going adventure of Princess Laeticia Aucerius and her doctor Nina Deforges after the events of Star Ocean: The Divine Force. The two developed a close relationship over the course of the game, and it only continues to grow more romantic as the two travel together to spread the cure for Helgar's Disease

ARP Odyssey その2

結局、カントリーギター的な響きを軸に据えたアレンジに「なんとなく」でダイアトニック的な響きを加えてしまえば、楽曲の印象も「なんとなく」になってしまうはずで、ただ、その原因となるカントリーとダイアトニックの関係性は一般的に認知されているものではない分、そこを無自覚に物事を進めてしまうのも、まあまあやりがちな事ではあるだろうと。一般的に認知されている事ではないからと言って、自分が気になっている箇所をスルーするのも、それは違う訳で、なのでそこはちゃんとやっておかないと、そういう事って後々悔いを残しますよね。

そもそもシンセで普通のダイアトニックコードの転回形のような音を出しても、あんまり IDM ぽくはならないというのもありますし、その IDM の中でちゃんとギターの音がカントリーギター然とする事を目指するなら、より意識をしてダイアトニック的な響きを楽曲から省いく方が、自分の意図が伝わりやすくなるだろうと。

と、思い始めたちょうどその頃、自分はたまたま Random Souce（R*S）の Serge を使い始めていたのですが、これは本当に偶然なのですが、R*S はそういう自分の向いている方向にピッタリの楽器だったのですよね。やっぱり普通の鍵盤シンセと比べて、モジュラーシンセは出せる倍音の幅が広くて複雑で、それでもちゃんと有機的で、本当に豊かな響きが得られるのです。なので、例えば音をワッと広げたい場面でも R*S なら2声の対旋律をちょっと組んであげて、下で低域をドローンで鳴らして、あとはそれぞれの音に H949 なりアナログディレイなりのエフェクトを掛けて、それをちょっと pan で振ってあげれば、ポリシンセの5声で鳴らす和音に引けを取らない、大きな音像を作ることができてしまうのです。

モジュラーシンセはある面、平均律そのものからの解放を目指した楽器でもありますから、放っておいてもダイアトニックコード的な響きではない音の方向になっていく傾向があります。そういう意味では、意図せず、自分がダイアトニック的な響きから離れた所にいたのはあったのだと思います。そこから色々考えていたら、自然音階とダイアトニックの違いなどを意識できるようになっていった感じなのだと思います。

それまで自分がイメージしていたシンセの音は、いわゆるシンセサイズされた音と鍵盤の和音から得られる印象を一つに捉えていたものなのですが、そこが意識できるようになってくると、この二つは分けた方が良いだろうと。自ずと和音の要素を省いた所で成立するモノシンセばかりを使うようになってしまい、ポリシンセは電源を入れない事の方が多くなってしまうのでした。そして、もう少しモノシンセのバリエーションが欲しくなるのです。その頃、Chroma Polaris は壊れており、眠ったままになっていましたので、あとは Moog Grandmother も使っていませんでしたので、Polaris を修理するよりはその二つを ARP Odyssey に変えたらとても美しいではありませんかと。

（こうやって他人が上手に使っている音を聞くと、手放さない方が良かったかな・・と思う日もありますが）

Chroma Polaris は ARP のフィルターを搭載してますので、70s 的な空気感を作るのにとても重宝していたのですが、ARP の 70s 的な空気感が欲しいなら Polaris よりは Odyssey の方がむしろそのものズバリな訳で、ポリフォニック機能を使わないなら Odyssey の方が余計に自分の目的には合っているだろうと。付け加えると、Polaris は1984年発売のシンセなので、基本現代的なシンセの音が鳴る部類ではあるのです。Polaris は微妙に70s の雰囲気ではなかったというのもありました。Polaris は構造的にはとても面白いですし、全然嫌いじゃないのですが、如何せん置き場所問題がありますから、まあ、断捨離です。

Odyssey は、70s そのものズバリを目的に買うので Korg のリイシューではなく、もちろん古い方のです。欲を言えば、そりゃ rev1 の、所謂モーグフィルターの乗ってる奴が欲しい、とも思いましたが、まあ、自分が欲しいタイミングで日本の古いシンセ屋さんにそれが出ていないということは、これはもう縁がないんです。

rev2 と rev3 なら、自分なら rev3 。原宿のシンセ屋さんの主は「2も3も、だいたい一緒」と仰っておられましたが、自分もそう思います。ただ、rev3 の方がガワの共振音がデッドな分、タイトな音が鳴る（気がする）ので、自分はそっちを選びました。rev3 でも十分、濃いぃ 70s の音が鳴ります。ベタな表現を使えば、レコードみたいな音がします。Odyssey は2音ポリにもなりますので（adsr の r を短くしないと不自然になりますが）、自分の対旋律を組む使い方でも、その旋律を鍵盤で探れるので、これもポイント高いです。

CS15 と比べると、Odyssey は env の動きがとても有機的です。生き物のような音の変化があります。CS15 に限らず、日本の古いアナログシンセの env は、概ねそこがぶっきらぼうな動き方をしますので、そこは結構差があるかな・・とは思いました。vco の音やフィルターの音の楽しさなら、日本のシンセも全然負けていません。

悪い点をあげますと、やはり評判通り、スライダーの使いずらさは特筆すべきものがあります。見事に使いづらいです。ベンダーも使いづらいです。まあ、ここら辺は慣れようと思います。

In 300 ADs, Constantine's claimed to setup Christ's Kingdom all by himself. That claim faced a glitch: No resurrection was happening! Hence the attempt was made to insert this text - "The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years [kingdom] ended" - essentially an attempt to justify the lack of resurrection in Constantine's kingdom. That's why this text is shown within parentheses in translations like NIV etc. This part is not in the original Bible. Christ's followers seated on thrones with him (Rev3:21) need someone to rule over in the 1000 years (Rev20:6) when the kingdom is established. Those subjects are the rest of mankind raised to life to learn righteousness (Rev2:26-27, Isa26:9) under that judgment reign. Christ's kingdom has a purpose which is the teaching & rehabilitation of the rest of mankind, and it's NOT a dummy kingdom where the rest of the dead just stay dead, and the rulers rule an empty planet.
