#Right now the future is just some plot device to explain why silver is in anything

You know I'd love it if someday a game or some kinda media delved into Silver's feelings towards the future. For the time being, the future is just some vague place that Silver says he comes from and explains how he exists plot wise, but how does Silver see it after all this time? Is it home? Is it warm and embracing? Is it a place he wishes to fiercely protect because of that? Or is it just a duty and a string he's forever tied by because he feels he has to protect it as he feels it's his only role in the world. Because the future denizens happiness means more than him finding it to be his own home?
I'd like to see it explored from a more personal standpoint someday.

The Avengers: Endgame
youtube
Tumblr media
Over the last couple months I finally upgraded to somewhat modern TV and gaming rigs in the form of a 55” Samsung 4KTV and Xbox Series X. I own three 4K UHD discs, but one I already covered a couple years back with my entry of the BluRay version that came bundled with the 4K disc of Die Hard. The other is a two pack of the first two John Wick films, and rest assured those will get their day in the sun here eventually. From my research, the Xbox Series X is not a top shelf 4K BluRay player, at least not at the system’s launch before presumable system software updates, but also sounds like a fairly better quality version of the drive that came in the Xbox One X|S, and also supports upscaling of regular BluRays to 4K. Coincidentally, on top of my movie backlog pile was a movie I absolutely wanted to take advantage of that 4K upscaling and thus here we are with today’s write-up for 2019’s The Avengers: Endgame (trailer). WARNING: Unlike nearly most of my other movie recaps I will be diving into serious spoiler territory ahead. The amount of hype leading up to Endgame was insurmountable. Anthony and Joseph Russo did an astounding job directing the first part in 2018’s Infinity War (read my entry for it here). Both that and Endgame top the three hour mark to squeeze in as many characters, references, periphery side plots and so much more from the previous 21 Marvel Cinematic Universe films that lead up to this finale. By accomplishing just that, both movies are the breeziest three hour viewings I have experienced because the Russo brothers do a commendable job at keeping the scenes flowing and doing their best to give everyone their proper time to shine. The ending of Infinity War saw Thanos (Josh Brolin) deliver the snap heard around the world that vanished half of all life in the entire universe. It was a soul-crushing downer of a cliffhanger to end on, but the post-credits tag hinting at the cry of help for Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) left crowds with a glimmer of hope. This being based around comic books there is the unwritten rule where no one truly stays dead either, so part of the experience going into Endgame was to see how the remaining Avengers plan to bring everybody back. Endgame kicks off with the fresh effects of ‘the snap’ when it starts with Hawkeye’s family all getting dusted from him in the middle of a picnic.
Tumblr media
The film transitions to the remaining un-dusted Avengers squad of Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Iron Man (Robert Downer Jr.) floating aimlessly in space until the convenient deus ex machina that is Captain Marvel miraculously tracks them down and hauls them back to Earth. A few weeks Avengers HQ tracks down Thanos on an isolated planet and with Captain Marvel’s power, they anticlimactically kill him off in a brief scene. This was one of the parts of the film that did not sit well with me after building up Thanos as this unrivaled threat in all the previous films, and to have the Avengers cold-bloodedly put him down in quick order seems so……unlike them, but he did off half the universe so I understand how the Russo’s felt justified for filming it that way, but I cannot help that it did not come across right, and could have been handled better. Of course, a more proper Thanos battle would be coming later in the final act thanks to my pet peeve plot device that is…. …TIME TRAVEL!!!! This and alternate dimension traveling I despise and have turned me off to many shows over the years like Lost and CW’s DC shows. The worst of it is indeed present here because meaningful character deaths that happened in Infinity War to Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Gamura (Karen Gillan) become undone and their sacrifices proved for naught. All that griping aside however, I will give the Russo brothers credit because even with those qualms I feel they pull off time travel and have it appear as more than a convenient storytelling method. Again, major props because that is a hell of a hurdle to overcome. The filmmakers go out of their way in a couple scenes to directly call out Back to the Future’s style of time travel bullshit, and have a couple characters ever-so-carefully explain in detail and for the laymen how “real” time travel works.
Tumblr media
This is all thanks to a rambunctious rat who inadvertently zaps Ant Man (Paul Rudd) out of the Quantum Realm…after being trapped there five years due to his team being on the end of a dusting before bringing him back. Ant Man deduces upon his return that he is able to undo the dusting through his van-quantum-realm-contraption, and convinces the Avengers to conjure up a plan they cleverly dub the “Time Heist” to travel back to capture all the Infinity Gems Stones before Thanos does. I loved how these scenes played out, and there is a plethora of fan service throughout it as the three squads of Avengers jump to different periods like the final battle of the original Avengers film, and a 1970 military base where Howard Stark (John Slattery) unknowingly meets his son. Plans do not proceed swimmingly to say the least, and past timeline Thanos becomes clued in to their plan and thwarts the Avengers attempt at trying to undo the past in a CG showpiece for the ages with his assault on Avengers HQ. The CG fireworks continue to dazzle for the bulk of the final hour of the film with a climatic showdown between Thanos and his forces against The Avengers and the returning of the dusted Marvel characters. I have seen too many comic book films fail at translating over-the-top comic book action on the silver screen, but the Russo brothers always manage to pull it off. I fondly remember the theater crowd going gaga when Captain America (Chris Evans) summons Mjolnir and wallops Thanos with it. The women of Marvel have another moment to shine together where they collectively team up to kick ass. Moments of levity are brilliantly peppered in throughout the chaos for a much-needed chuckle from the nonstop adrenaline-boosting action. That final battle masterfully builds up to the dramatic sacrifice of Iron Man in the standout emotional scene of the film.
Tumblr media
The resulting aftermath was heartwarmingly done here with a pre-recorded farewell from Iron Man, and a collage of nearly all the major and minor MCU characters at Iron Man’s funeral. I believe this is the first MCU film without a post-credits tag, and that is 100% fine by me, because the beginning of the credits is a lovingly crafted tribute to the original Avengers cast done in the fashion of the Original Series cast of Star Trek VI that resonated with me feeling the end of a pivotal era of the MCU that I have been largely enjoying since the original 2008 Iron Man. I usually do not dive into this much detail and spoilers when recapping the movies here, but due to this being the final chapter of this era of the MCU films I could not help myself, and believe me there is so much more I wanted to dive in here on because like I said, the Russo brothers crammed in an incredible amount of narrative into three hours. There is so much ground in here it is impossible for me to recap it all, and that it will in all likelihood be the fastest three hour movie you will ever endure. I did not get a chance to even touch on over-the-hill Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the hybrid Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo (spoiler: they both killed it!)). Endgame unsurprisingly did major bank at the box office, so I feel safe knowing most of you reading this already watched it by now which is another reason I went all out on the spoilers.
Tumblr media
I re-watched the film for this entry a second time with commentary from the Russo brothers, and writers Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and that greatly helped explain some little tidbits that were easy to miss and/or not fully comprehend in the midst of the three hours. I know this is a little detail, but I want to give props to Marvel for being one of the few companies out there for shelling out resources to caption the commentary track! I exponentially appreciate it more than you know! The commentary helped with understanding why they did not do a lot for Black Widow’s (Scarlett Johansson) aftermath of her death because she has her prequel film set to release. Other notable takeaways from the commentary was how Stark’s “I am Iron Man” line was a last minute addition to the film, giving credit to Star Trek VI as inspiration for their credits sequence, being hopeful for Marvel capitalizing on Falcon donning Cap’s shield and lots of understandable love for the visual effects team for their hard work. Aside from the commentary track, the BluRay has a second disc with just under an hour of bonus material. There is the requisite short, but top-of-the-line gag reel that is standard in most Marvel Studios home videos. There are five minutes of deleted scenes worth a look, with some of them lightheartedly covering up plot holes. Remembering Stan Lee is a touching tribute to Stan, filled with archived interviews from him on his experiences in the cameos, and showing plenty of delightful off-camera interactions with the cast and crew. There are well done character profile pieces for Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Iron Man, with each one having countless cast and crew state proper kudos to what the actors have done for those characters over the years. If you only have time for one then I recommend Man Out of Time: Creating Captain America, because it goes into a little more detail than the others and Chris Evans has some intriguing introspection from his years with the character. Finally, there are short, but worthwhile pieces on the Russo brothers and the women of the MCU that should not be skipped out on either.
Tumblr media
As I mentioned above, the hype building up to Endgame was insurmountable, but Joseph and Anthony Russo overcame the odds and delivered a gratifying conclusion to this era of the MCU. Watching the BluRay upscaled in 4K on a TV about a third bigger than my previous set made it a grander experience too for those showpiece moments. Sure I had quibbles and nitpicks I mentioned above, but by and large those are easily overcome by how much the Russo brothers got it right with this film. I am kicking myself for waiting a year and a half to re-watch it, but picked up on a lot of little things that went right over mine and Drax’s heads the first time out. If you have yet to give The Avengers: Endgame another viewing, then do not hesitate because you will not regret once again taking in this landmark epic that delivered against all odds! Some Thoughts on AWAE 3x10 (a lot of spoilers ahead)...
Yay, Winnie and Gilbert have broken up!
Since Winnie is fundamentally an unproblematic character, I can’t help but feel a bit bad for her. On paper, they seemed like the perfect couple.
Winnie is right, why did he lead her father on?
“I don’t have any plans to marry.”- Sure…
I love how Gilbert is compassionate and emphatic at this moment. He never takes a moment to doubt the actual heartbreak and emotion associated with her reaction. Even though they’re breaking up, he tells her that she is someone that shouldn’t be settled for.
Diana got in!
“Is there anything else you want to say to me?”-Now is your moment, Gilbert!
“Congratulations.”-That’s all? Seriously Anne is giving you opportunities on a silver platter.
Yes, he’s applying to Uni. of Toronto with Dr. Emily Oak
“Deceitful child, how could you?”-Remember that time you couldn’t figure out improper fractions?
Where would there be a gaggle of eligible, wealthy and educated men? College/university. Also, no wealthy and educated man wants an uneducated partner.
Diana’s parents’ reasoning is just uggggghhhhhhhhh.
Why do I have the feeling that Diana’s parents aren’t going to let her go to Queens?
Mathew, now was not a great time to tell her the news about the changes.
I swear to god that note better not fly away.
Wait, how does he know where her room is within the house.
You can’t sell half of Pride and Prejudice.
WTF, WHY WOULD YOU TEAR UP THE NOTE, ANNE?
No, no, no! The note was the opposite of those sentiments. I’m going to buy that very infuriating action as a plot device to him confessing his feeling IN PERSON.
I’m continually amazed by how quick Anne sets aside her own problems in order to be there for her friends.
I can’t help but chuckle at how happy Marilla is at the corset.
Oh no, Elijah’s back. I thought was touching that he bought back Gilbert’s Dad’s watch from the pawn watch. While Bash’s treatment of Elijah is harsh, I understand where he’s coming from.
“The more I held her back, the less I was included.”-Never were truer words spoken.
“I’m so sad to see you go yet so happy I know you.”-Love Miss Stacy’s wisdom and I just wish a certain someone had said the exact same thing to her.
“I’d advise you to smarten up and explain yourself.”-YES, YES!
Happy to see that Bash’s relationship with Elijah has softened, considering that he’s been trying to make a concerted effort.
Oh, Anne looks so grown up!
I would have preferred for her skirt to be solid-colored but love the ensemble.
Glad to see that Ka'kwet hasn’t been forgotten. I love that she decided to take the hair accessories that she gave Anne with her.
Now would be a great time to initiate the conversation, Mathew.
That was a moment missed. Now, he better tell her right before she moves in.
The costume designers did Tillie dirty with her ensemble. Besides the hat, the outfit looks like an outfit made for Rachel. Seriously, couldn’t they cut her jacket at her waist?
I feel like I’ve seen Mrs. Blackmore in something else. Glad to see the intro of a deaf character.
Deaf-mute is a questionable but probably a historically accurate choice of words.
I laughed so hard when the girls were stopped from running up the stairs.
“I promise not to snore”.-Tillie
Was glad to see Josie’s shitty experience with Billy didn’t put her off from any notion of courting.
It feels surreal to see all the girls look so grown up with corsets and with their hair up.
Side note: Bash’s mom’s skin is just stunning. Seriously, she is glowing.
Elijah’s staying on! Mary’s wish to have her family together has been fulfilled.
Mathew, tell her that you’re sad that she’s going to be gone but you’re happy about her future.
I love how Marilla has really come to regard Aunt Jo to be part of the family.
I love how Cole has come into herself.
That dress, Marilla!
Sad to see that her inquiry in Scotland has led to a dead end.
Anne handled her feeling so maturely.
Yes, Mathew, is finally admitting his feelings!
That velvet looks so plush but isn’t that dress a little inappropriate for daytime?
“If I know you, you better tell me who and how.”-I found it hilarious, it was just in such sharp contrast to the happy background music.
There’s finally
I forgot that Anne doesn’t know that Gilbert and Winifred broke up.
Diana’s face dropped when he mentioned that he isn’t going to Queens but the University of Toronto.
Love the contrast between Gilbert’s smile and Diana’s scowl.
Seriously, Diana’s rant deserves all the awards. Glad she brought up the fact that he literally gave her 30 seconds to decide about her future.
Also if Diana’s very eloquent rant isn’t an indicator of her ability, I don’t know what is. Seriously, her parents want to waste all of that?
I also love, for the most part, how her story of finding her independence unraveled throughout the season.
He’s going after her!
I swear to god if there’s going to be another missed connection, I’m going to scream.
Just in the nick of time!
I love how her hair has slightly unraveled, it’s such a romantic look. It’s giving me Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View vibes.
THEY’RE KISSING!!!!
Damn, he’s a good kisser.
Mrs. Blackmore better not be looking out the window, I desperately need them to have a moment.
“Do you truly have feelings for me?”-Idk, you guys should kiss again but seriously, was that kiss, not an indicator?
Anne went for it! Gleefully remembering, “Why must the girl wait?”
Oh darling, the second kiss was EVERYTHING!
I wonder what made Diana’s father’s mind change?
Maybe he saw her rant and thought, finishing school is a waste (and probably more expensive than college).
Damn, Gilbert.
Love Diana’s surprised look.
I wonder if Marilla and Mathew saw the kissing?
Love that they were able to give Anne the book, for her to have something of her parents.
“You’re a wish come true, I never knew I was making.”-Never truer words said.
Final Thoughts:
They really tied up everything in this episode. I wonder if they did that on purpose because if they were to be canceled, it wouldn’t be fair to leave on a cliffhanger.
I wonder if they’re going to do that Glee thing where they essentially split the show between two different plots. I hope they don’t do that because it didn’t work for Glee.
For two people who don’t have a lot of experience with kissing, they sure looked like they knew what they’re doing.
I really liked how when Gilbert and Winifred broke up, they didn’t emphasize Anne but the fact that it’s wrong to marry someone you feel as if you’re settling for.
Seriously, what made Diana’s dad change her mind?
Can’t wait for Queens plotlines!
His plan to go straight off to Paris without learning the language seriously doesn't make sense.

Somewhere between the clouds
“How long do we still have?”
“Like an hour at most,” Clint answered from his place in the control seat, flying the helicarrier through the darkning clouds of the sky.
“Alright. Once we’re there, remember to stick to the plan and go in and out as quickly as possible,” Steve ordered,” no heroic antics, no lone walkers and no sacrifices.”
Tony couldn’t help but roll his eyes,” says you.”
“Okay, don’t. We know this is probably a trap, so please don’t fight,” Natasha chimed in,” Barnes needs us.”
The place of realisation
Dawn slowly crept into the sky, the rain that had clattered with the rapid beating of your heart now quiet and serene.
Your eyes drifted over the exposed chest of the dreaming man that had calmed the rain both inside you and outside, the peaceful air that hung around preventing you from fully standing up.
His prosthetic stirred and whispered through the quiet night air, the neutrally calm expression on his face a stark contrast to the usual stern look that pulled at his features.
As you traced the curve of his eyelashes, your mind flashed to the first night you had seen him, writhing in bed with those eyes tightly pulled together to drown out the demons they had sowed in through the nerves when they had connected his metal arm.
A fire ignited within you, pain and fury tugging at your feet to make contact with the cold tile floor as you stood up and covered yourself once more in the suit.
You were going to end it. Once and for all.
Somewhere once called home
At times like this you wish you had your music with you, the soft beating of the drum a faint background soundtrack to the movie-like crime you were about to commit.
Low humming took its place instead, a familiar melodie swirling around your mind and flowing between your lips to immerse in the howling wind.
The knives between your fingers scraped against eachother as you watched like an owl how the guards surrounded the place you once belonged.
Not anymore. Not since you found a new home, a home where blue and silver were the colors of the walls and black curtains hung around the windows you hadn’t had in your old home.
You emerged from the shadows and flung your knifes with precision, the pointy ends meeting eyes and heads as they dropped dead with a whiny groan of pain.
More of them came alert, but you swiftly took them down without a sweat, a gun in each of your hands as they charged at you.
One pair of brown eyes flashed with realisation as he took in your face, a single moment of hesitation giving you space to take him down and snatch his keys before he could comprehend who you truly were.
Clearing the entrance, you face the gates that you had walked through so many times, your determined legs stepping over the bodys littering the floor.
The screech of the metal bars sliding across the floor fueled the fire behind your eyes, blinding reason and the future as you flipped more knives in your hands with every intention to shed as much blood as possible.
You stood still infront of one of the big metal doors, a quick whiff enough to know there were armed soldiers standing on the other side. You smile devilishly as you continue humming, the empty space resonating the flowing sound loudly and spreading an eerie air behind the doors.
You slowly open the doors, your eyes meeting with at least twenty other pairs, looking all too familiar and... freightened.
This was your home after all. They knew what you were capable of. They had seen you do this before.
Somewhere Bucky regrets to be
The distinction of closed eyelids and the ever consuming night is small, Bucky’s heightened vision clearing up slowly as his mind tries to fling out every possible memory he could muster into the air.
The first thing he realises is that he’s not home, this is not his bed, and he certainly doesn’t remember ever sleeping this well.
He gasped and shot up straight, his eyes tracing every inch of the room for your face but comming empty. He glanced at the beside and felt disappointment swirl through him once again as he’s left in the dust for the hundredth time. How he kept falling into this is beyond him.
He didn’t waste time as he flung his naked body out of bed, yanked on his clothes and shook the locked door off its hinges to leave. He ignored the strange looks he was given and asked for a phone, dialing the only number he had space for in his contorted mind to memorize.
“Steve? It’s me- Buck-“
“Bucky?! Where the hell are you?!”, Steve’s voice screamed, both in relief and frantic panic.
“I, uh, I don’t know. Some weird place outside the city-“
“We’ll- we’ll get you once we’re done, okay? We’re heading to one of HYDRA’s secret bases. Thank god you’re okay. I thought they had kidnapped you.”
“Well someone actually did,” he mumbled, trying to figure out where you could’ve went for godssake.” I want to come. I think my imprisoner is there, too.”
A sigh and some mumbling was heard through the line, the person which he lended the phone from awkwardly smiling at him as they made eyecontact.
“We’re apparently almost over the city, if you can come to the tower I think we can pick you up.”
He sighed exasperatedly, giving the person a pleading smile as he asked his next question.” Can I borrow some money, too?”
The eerie halls of HYDRA
The aching feeling shooting up your arms and legs went completely ignored as you flung yourself from wall to wall, bullets raining on the men before you as blood spews on your face.
The low humming whispering through the air fought with the last breath of the last man standing, fighting for their place to live. The hollow pair of eyes remained staring into nothingness, seemingly peering right through you.
You wiped your sleeve over your face, staining the black leather red as you continued down many more halls with determination. With every drop of blood, your vision stained more crimison. With every grunt and every body dropping to the ground, your movements became more out of control.
The calculated swiftness was gone, a vicious bruteness taking its place as every sense of pain and victory vanished with every slicing of a throat. You lusted for blood, the adrenaline pumping through your veins so ethereal that all else was a blur. You didn’t have to think, to pay attention to what you were doing to bring down every man on your way.
Panting with a murderous smile on your face, you stood in front of the door at the end of your red rainbow. This was the end, the moment you had waited for and the only thing standing between you and happiness.
You timidly raised your bullet induced leg, kicking the door off its hinges with not even all your force. It crashed against the opposite wall as bullets immediately flew your direction. You hid behind a wall as a stern voice barked orders, the doorway too small for two men to enter thus giving you advantage as you took them down one by one like a videogame.
When silence had stretched the whole facility, the monster of your dreams hiding inside as you lingered out, you whistled the tune you had learned when you were still a kid.
A slow step inside, and then another, and another as you continued whistling the song that had been imbedded in your brain for what felt like centuries. The frantic beating of his heart filled your ears like music, the shudder that flowed through him like a wave boosting your adrenaline as you lifted your eyes to lock onto his.
He was holding a gun in one hand, a device with a bright red button on the other. He was trying to compose himself, although his heart already told its tale. Your blood smudged face broke into a smirk as he cocked the gun, a serious look on his rimpled features.
“If you take another step, I swear to god, I will blow us both up.”
The hellicarier
Wet grass made sucking sounds under his boots as Bucky nervously glanced at the facility they just landed a few good feet away from.
It was quiet, the darkness redering them from seeing too far.
“I’m flying closer. Move slowly and wait for my word,” Tony spoke, slowly flying away as Steve led the rest foreward.
His heart was booming in his chest, Tony’s voice crackling through the comms and right through his train of thoughts.
“The guards are down, and so seem to be the rest of the first line of defense,” he hummed, intrigued but still puzzled,” I’m going in.”
“Wait, Tony-“
It all seemed so surreal. None of it made any sense to him, no matter how much Bucky thought about it. As the facility started to clear, a shudder raked through him like a wildfire, memories of torture and imprisonment washing over him with a shaky sigh.
Steve was too busy rushing after Tony to notice, and Bucky was glad he didn’t. He wouldn’t be able to explain why he didn’t want to go inside, scared of the scene they were just about to encounter.
“Shit.”
An understatement, Bucky thought. A see of bodys littered the ground, knives plunged in painfully ruthless areas and surging vomit from within him. They had to step on them to pass, wincing and keeping eyes straight to not witness the blood seeping out eyes and mouths.
It seemed never ending. Every door they opened lead to another horrifying scene, each group murdered in a different and more ruthless way than the other. It was clear that whoever did this lost complete control.
They all could guess who it was, the knives sticking out of throats similar to the ones they had obtained from you a week ago. Motives were still unclear, although Bucky might have an idea.
He hoped and prayed you changed. That you murdering your fellow agents was a sign of your rebellion against them, and that you were on your way to kill the head of it all. Bucky didn´t know who the man was, and it hadn’t struck him before now that this must be the place that you grew up in. The same space he had been kept in for a short time considering his long life and many movings.
How had you not encountered eachother? If they knew how much you admired him, why not give you the opportunity to meet him or even see him?
“It’s here,” Natasha announced, causing all to stand still and look around the crimison walls.
“Uh.. can you be more specific?”, Clint piped up, scrunching his face as he heard crunching from under his feet. He stepped way, only to step on another body and earning him another echoing crushing sound.” fucking disgusting!”
“Shut up, Clint-“
“Found it,” Bucky sighed, eyes landing on the small musicdevice poking out of one of the pockets of the men that offered their lives to HYDRA. It was splattered with blood, but still in one piece.” What now?”
“..walk further,” Steve ordered, not flinching as the body beneath his feet moved from the pressure of his weight, the cracking sound awefully defined by the hollow walls of the filled room.
A couple hallways away
“Do it. I dare you.”
His wrinkled thumb lowerd slightly, but as it almost touched the button, he retreated it with a yell.
“I give you one last chance to leave, soldat! I swear on my grave that I will blow us to pieces!”
You chuckled, taking a step foreward. He pressed the trigger of the gun in shock of your movement, but it easily past by you by both his lack of aim and your swift step to the side.
“You care too much about your life to do this,” you coo’d,” oh, I know it all too well.”
“Get back!”, he screamed,” I fucking raised you! You have no right to-“
You cut him off by slamming your hands on the wooden desk, breaking it slightly as you leaned on it and got closer to his face.” I have every right to do what I’m doing. You ruined my life and his.”
He pressed the button, scrunching his face to a ball of prune, but snapped his eyes open as he heared your devilish laughter. “ You would never dare harm yourself. You would harm anyone— a little kid without a thought— but not yourself.”
You swatted both the gun and button out of his hands, gripping his collor and yanking him close to your face.” I was a kid. At most 10 years old, when I learned what it felt like to be burned alive. You don’t do that to a kid.”
“You had extraordinary talents for such a young age.”
“Brave for you to still talk this way when your life is in my blooded hands,” you whispered, releasing one hand to gently stroke his cheek, trailing a stripe of blood down his scruffy beard,” and when I’m so tempted to make you.. extraordinary, too.”
“Why now?” He hissed, seemingly swallowing his high squeek,” all those years of torture and not once did you fight back. Why now?”
Your eyebrows relaxed, millions of thoughts flooding your brain as you gave him a pat on the cheek.” I guess someone finally managed to break me the way you never could,” you whispered.
His eyes followed your every move as you pried in one of your pockets, revealing a small object and bringing it up to his face. A screw, small but long gleaming in the yellow light as his brows furrowed in anticipation.
“I found this in my suit yesterday. It was in my pocket, bloody and slightly crooked,” you continued whispering, eyes not leaving the screw as you twisted it in the light.” You know what this is?”
Before he could answer, you yanked him to the ground with all the force you had left. His head slammed next to his desk, a strangled gasp caught in his throat as he pushed out a groan.
You sat over him, the screw hovering between his eyes.” The forgotton screw. I found it in my back after my session. You wanna know how?”
He rapidly but barely shook his head in response, not being able to keep his eyes off the metal object between your fingers.” I tried to sleep after they had pulled out all fifteen they had hammered in my back to make me extraordinary, but in my moments of pain I must have not counted clearly. The moment my back hit the matress, it sunk so deep in my back that I couldn’t take it out.”
The pointy end lightly scraped over his head, a white line trailing up his nose.” I spend the whole night trying to pluck it out with my bare hands,” you whispered, putting a little pressure and elicting a yelp,” and I kept it. As a souvenir. I didn’t know why, back then, but now I’m glad I did.´´
With one quick motion, you lifted the screw into the air and plunged it in his eye, a gut wrenching scream heard through the whole facility, the dead even flinching in horror.
All heads seemed to turn simultaneously, Steve the first to react as he sprinted over de bodys to the source of the scream. Bucky followed soon after, his hair whipping in his face as he tried to control his breathing.
He didn´t know if he was relieved that the scream didn´t belong to you, or that he was terrified of what you were doing that elicted such a yell. He knew they probably deserved this, but at what emotinal cost?
They didn´t have to kick the door open, as it was already shook off its hinges and thrown across the room. His eyes landed on the body first, once eyes now mere black holes as scarlett seeped from them like a waterfall, mouth ripped by the edges as it strechted like a grin. The most horrifying thing above all, was the ragged breathing pushing past the blood, eyesockets pleadingly staring at them from their hollow space and sending a chill through Bucky´s spine.
Then, when he could tear his eyes away from the sickning sight, he was met with eyes filled to the brim with plain craze. He impulsively leaped from his space, brushing past the rest as he pulled you up from over the man and fell to the ground in frantic sloppiness. He cradled your motionless figure as his eyes found the dying body again, memories flooding his mind of the identification of the eyeless puppet. He was one of the men that had tried to find Bucky´s weaknesses by torturing him, convinced it would make him stronger. It never did.
After a long-stretched silence, your arms twitched at your side and lifted to embrace his chest. He held on tighter, trying to compose himself as a sob begged to escape his lips and fill the awkward air.
You pressed yourself against the warmth, a smile starting to form your lips as you focused on the heartbeat of your home. The blinding rage was slowly dripping from the edge and fading away into the blood on the ground, the adrenaline that had drummed in your veins washing away to leave you exhausted and drained.
´´Bucky,´´ Steve softly whispered, crouching down next to them as his brain wrecked havoc to make sense of the situation and the next. He didn´t answer, burrying your face into his shirt as the blood stained his fingers. He payed no attention, closing his eyes to hear the steady breathing that left your lungs to calm him down.
It was silent again, deafning and consuming, till you breathed out a melody, humming one of the only songs that brought happiness. Happiness, the only feeling you alowed yourself to feel at this moment. Happiness and longing, longing for the future. Longing for the man that rested his chin on your crown, shielding you with his arms as you took in the scent that lingered upon him.
The plot of your life finally made sense again.
THE END
-
A/N : wow. This was it, guys. the last chapter of my first series. It has been so much fun writing this and changing course every other chapter to the point I forgot to lead to the plot. If you have questions, please ask!
What do you think about the ending? Is it a happy one?
did you notice I put Bucky´s trigger words in every chapter, but in reverse? It´s supposed to be symbolic for the readers journey where instead of turning bad like Bucky does when he hears them in the good order, she turns (arguably) good with the reverse of it, reversing the damage of the triggerwords :)

I love your blog and I have a question. What do you think is going on with Luke's old lightsabre? I'm afraid it means their bond is severed.
Hi, anon! Thanks for enjoying my brain farts. Sorry, it took me so long to respond, but I have many thoughts about the lightsaber, and I tried to summarise as best as I can.
First, I’m going to postulate that on a meta level, the Skywalker lightsaber represents Star Wars itself and the place of the person wielding it inside the narrative of the saga.
WHAAAAAT? I hear you asking. That’s not what my question is about! I know, I know, but let me explain because it means an awful lot for Reylo. :P (You’ll see, it will all make sense.)
2015, The Force Awakens brings back Star Wars. For ten years the franchise has been “locked away” in  Lucasfilm’s basement the same way the Skywalker lightsaber has been locked away in Maz’s castle.
Maz Kanata: I’ve had this for ages. Kept it locked away.[hands Solo Luke’s lightsaber]Han Solo: Where did you get that?Maz Kanata: A good question - for another time.
Translation: We don’t have time for useless backstory, we’ll keep that for tie-in materials.
Force Awakens introduces new characters, never seen before: Rey, a scavenger and Finn, a stormtrooper. Both are without parents, which leads to wild speculation from fans.
Who are they?
Why are they here?
Star Wars is about the Skywalker family, always been, so it means they have to be linked one way or another to the Skywalker legend, right?
Otherwise, what place do they hold in Star Wars?
Apparently for some fans, none.
The movie also introduces Kylo Ren, formerly known as Ben Solo, who turns out to be the legitimate heir to the Star Wars legacy. The problem is, He’s one of the baddies. Shock and horror!
Back to the story: The Skywalker lightsaber calls to Rey, but she freaks out and refuses to answer the call to adventure and runs away.
[to Rey] That lightsaber was Luke’s. And his father’s before him. And now, it calls to you.
Translation: The Star Wars saga was about Luke, and his father before him. And now, it’s about you.
While in the forest, she meets Kylo Ren. Ultimately, the Force awakens in her thanks to this fateful encounter.
Translation: Here is our heroine and, whether you like it or not, her narrative intertwines with Kylo Ren’s (He is what narratively drives her right back into the story after she refuses the call to adventure). Hold your horses before screaming that it’s reducing Rey to a plot device; there’s more to come.
Interestingly enough, after Rey ran away, Finn is literally handed Star Wars when Maz tasks him to bring the Skywalker’s lightsaber to Rey.
Maz Kanata [To Finn]: Take it. Find your friend.
Translation: Your role within the story is to support Rey. In Star Wars, you are instrumental in her success. Hold your horses before screaming that it’s erasing Finn; there’s more to come.
That’s why the fight on Starkiller is so amazing; it’s a fight for the control of Star Wars. Of course, we know that the answer is that Star Wars now belongs to Finn, Rey and Kylo, but this is how the story unfolds:
[Finn wields Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber]Kylo Ren: That lightsaber… It belongs to me.
Translation: I am the rightful heir to Star Wars. This story is about me.
Finn: Come get it.
Translation: Yeah? You better earn your place in that narrative then! It’s not because you are the son of two main characters that you deserve to be the focal point of the story.
And for a brief instant, Kylo Ren succeeds. For a short moment, he’s about to “win” the legacy battle. He’s the centre of the Star Wars saga. Until the Skywalker lightsaber ‘slips through his fingers’ (flies past him) to end up in Rey’s hand.
Translation: You forgot about something kid, your Skywalker heritage doesn’t give you a free pass. It’s Rey’s story as much as yours. We’re not going to make it easy for you.
What follows is a beautiful fight in the snow, chock-full of raw emotion and symbolism and at the end, Rey uses Ren’s legacy against him: She “steals” his knowledge of the Force and uses his moves and the weapon of his family against him.
He ends up deeply wounded yet strangely fascinated. Rey leaves confused but stronger; and when the Resistance decides to send her to Ahch-To, she finally accepts the call to adventure.
Translation: Rey, you have earned your place in our narrative by embracing what the Skywalker saga been about so far. Go, girl! Kylo, you’re a total mess, and Rey is more deserving than you to be a Skywalker.
By rejecting a side of your family/history, you lost the central place in our narrative, but we didn’t kill you because there is hope for you. You have two movies to get your shit together or to mess up so badly that the Skywalker will go extinct.
NOW, LET’S EXAMINE THE LAST JEDI.
Allow me to get poetic here: Picture J.J. Abrams, wearing Jedi Robes handing over the Skywalker Lightsaber to Rian.
“Here. Star Wars is yours now. Go play with it.”
And the first thing that Rian does is to take his toolbox and take the lightsaber apart.
What is it made of?
What part goes where?
Do I need all the parts for it to work?
How can I make my own lightsaber?
For the second instalment of a series, you want to shake things up, push the characters further. And that’s what Rian does.
The film starts; Rey hands the Skywalker lightsaber to Luke, who looks at it dramatically before throwing it away.
Translation: I’m not the main guy anymore, why are you trying to bring me back into this shit?
The fact that this time it’s Luke who refuses the call to adventure is funny and unpredictable. It also leads Rey to question her place in the narrative because she took the mantle of Star Wars and she expects to follow Luke’s Steps.
Rey: I need someone to show me my place in all of this.
Translation: If I’m not here to be a Skywalker, what am I? Who am I? Why did the writers bring me here for? Aren’t you supposed to hand Star Wars to me?
And the thing is, Rey’s origins have been at the heart of all Star Wars speculations for two years, so the audience demands answers as much as Rey. And they want her to be this big, never-failing hero because girls have to be absolutely perfect because our society is too sexist to let them be just humans. To the MRAs she’s a Mary-Sue, to the toxic social justice activists, she’s nothing but a precious cinnamon roll who becomes a victim as soon as something remotely dangerous or sexy happens to her.
After Luke’s introduction, the next big scene where the Skywalker lightsaber makes its apparition is that funny scene where we see Rey training.
First, she’s using her staff, because that’s her trademark weapon, then she looks at the Skywalker lightsaber, picks it up and starts playing with it. And if you pay attention she’s not wielding it elegantly; she’s just waving it around until she slices the rock, destroying the Caretaker’s wheelbarrow.
Translation: I want to be part of this story even if Luke doesn’t want me to be, but right now no one takes me seriously, and it hurts.
There’s also a lot to say about why she’s waving the lightsaber like a metaphorical… well… you know what. I mean… And why Luke and the nuns are looking at her disapprovingly for wielding a phallic object on the island, but I’ll keep that for another meta.
Rey: I felt something… it awakened, but now I need to know how to wield it.
Translation: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Now, let’s jump to the fight in the Throne room because Rian successfully managed to make a brilliant Star Wars movie without that much Star Wars in it so we don’t see the Glowing Sticks of Skywalker Legacy as much as in Force Awakens.
Luke being an ass, Rey turned to Kylo Ren to find answers. In turn, Kylo found in Rey his counterpart, his equal and his dream to be loved and accepted for who he is (But since in this movie he believes he’s a monster, the relationship is kinda doomed from the start). The silver lining is that he also found the motivation to get rid of his abuser.
Rey ships herself to the First Order, holding the Skywalker lightsaber very close to her heart.
In the elevator, Rey and Kylo have a quick conversation about what they saw when they touched hands. Both saw the other “turning.”
REY: Ben, when we touched hands, I saw your future.  Just the shape of it, but solid and clear.  You will not bow before Snoke.  You’ll turn. I’ll help you.  I saw it.
Translation: I think I finally understand what my place in this narrative is. I’m here to be the heroine who will bring Ben “You’re-my-only-hope” Solo home and everyone is going to love me for it. Also, I hope the audience understands that I’m not your sister because I want to climb you like a tree.
The next thing, they’re standing in front of Snoke, who is being a creepy, manipulative mofo as usual. Note: if you hadn’t caught up on the sexual predator subtext of Snoke in the Force Awakens, I hope you finally opened your eyes because it wasn’t subtle at all and I was like a 3-year-old watching a pantomime, crying and shouting at Snoke to leave Rey alone.
Immediately Snoke takes the Skywalker lightsaber away from her and reveals that “he’s the one who bridged their minds together.” He even goes as far as bumping her head with it like we’re in a cartoon.
She tries to take control of Kylo’s weapon instead and is denied that power too.
Translation: I’m making Star Wars about myself. I’m the important one. Me! Me! Me! It’s all about me. I deny my apprentice his true heritage, I deny your right to live in this story. You’re both pawns, and I’m going to use and discard you as I please.
In the meantime, Kylo is finding the resolve to kill his master. When he strikes, it’s with the lightsaber that belongs to the side of the family he’s been trying to reject for so long. He’s embracing the truth that is his family. And in a poetic, climatic turn of event, he floats the lightsaber into Rey’s hand so they can fight together.
Translation: I have the same flirting skills as grand-daddy: when I fancy a girl I float stuff to her, but lightsabers are way cooler than pears. Also, I’ve changed my mind since Force Awakens; you can definitely share my story, and maybe my bed.
During the fight, the non-stop swapping and sharing of weapons is not only highly erotic but also symbolic of that shared destiny/story, and it’s no coincidence that their last conversation becomes so meta.
Everyone and their mother has been latching onto Kylo’s harsh words towards Rey’s parentage to say he’s gaslighting her into accepting his marriage proposal but Rian spoke up about that and I’m not going to repeat the obvious.
Instead, I want to talk about Rey trying to take control of the lightsaber because it’s significant of where her character can go.
(Anon, I’m going to address your question finally!)
For an instant, she looks tempted to take his hand but then, she calls for the lightsaber.
REY: Ben?
Translation: I’ve started to develop feelings for you, but they’re not strong enough for me to give up my life, my friends and my dreams. I misunderstood the vision. I thought it was my role to save you and “bring back hope” to the galaxy. You say I have no place in this story if I’m not a Skywalker or if I don’t become your better half, but I don’t believe in that.
Perhaps the audience expects in this instant that she’s going to grab the weapon and strike Kylo Ren because he was the bad guy all along. But that’s not how it plays. Unexpectedly the Skywalker lightsaber REFUSES to fly into her hand as it did in the previous movie and the Force once more separates Rey and Kylo Ren.
Translation: We’re not done yet. We have another movie to make. Come back in two years.
The lightsaber makes its last apparition at the very end. Rey is holding the broken pieces and speaks with Leia
Rey: Luke is gone.  I felt it.  But it wasn’t sadness or pain, it was peace.  And purpose.
Leia: I felt it too.
Rey: How can we build the rebellion from this?
Leia: We have everything we need.
The last frame looks as pretty as a Renaissance tableau. End of the movie.
So, wait a minute you’re going to say, you haven’t really answered the question. Is their bond severed because the lightsaber is broken in two?
Long story short; no.
First, their Force bond is still present, but I assume you are talking about the chance to see their relationship moving past being enemies.
And I want to say, yes. A thousand times.
Rian spent a whole movie shaking up Star Wars and he knows it. That’s why he shows the shattered lightsaber. It is “broken” but not beyond repair. You just need to reassemble it. At the same time, it is no longer the “Skywalker lightsaber”, it’s about to become something new, something else.
So do I think Rey and Kylo’s relationship is beyond repair? Absolutely not.
Despite their difference, their destinies are still intertwined and 2 major obstacles to their growth have been lifted:
Kylo is now free from the influence of his abuser and the two male figures who failed him.
Rey took control of her narrative by refusing to be reduced to the role of “Kylo’s wife” and The Last Jedi demonstrated that it was never her job to save Ben Solo in the first place.
The next time they meet, no one can argue in good faith that their relationship is platonic in nature. If they end up together in episode 9, no one will be able to argue that Rey has been weak and useless (or whatever sexist BS people will throw at her) or that Kylo was given a free redemption card.
The soil is plowed, the seeds are planted. Brace yourself for the harvest.

Read Comics Online - An Offshoot for Valuable Entertainment Alcohol can find its way into the hands of characters in fiction. It's often used as being a device to demonstrate each time a character is an anti-hero or perhaps a villain, along with your more pure characters abstaining from something could alter their mental state, or not bothering given it has no relation to them. Some characters, however, use a history with alcohol that is certainly less about setting them up as bad boys for example Wolverine, but a little more about establishing them as human with very real flaws.

There is little the Hulk cannot accomplish together with his strength, which only grows stronger along with his anger, which I think is a direct reflection with the negativity that resides in a lot of people. "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets!" To quote the smoothness himself. When Bruce Banner 'Hulks out', he or she is nigh DC Universe Premier invincible: rapidly healing from otherwise fatal wounds, able to run for miles without losing breath or momentum, and in a position to fell a building along with his bare hands.

The second option you will have to consider can be used bookstores. Used bookstores that exchange literary wares will invariably possess a long stack of comics that can vary from modern age to silver age and beyond. Sometimes you will see a good bookstore employee which will explain to you where they keep their vintage copies of golden age options and will sell these to you an inexpensive price. Without apology, I admit that I am the consummate collector of Batman paraphernalia. Recently, the astonishing work, The Batman Files, found its way into playing. Anyone who appreciates the mystique of The Dark Knight will cherish this book. And while I admit that readers often say of proper books, "I could not put it down," that has been truly my experience. I poured on the design and relished the high quality illustrations for a few hours after opening it. Asterix Comics or The Adventures of Asterix and Obelix happen to be translated into greater than 30 languages worldwide and have also received numerous awards across the years. I personally love the Asterix Comics for his or her amazing love of life and tongue-in-cheek interpretations of assorted people and events.
