Had this dream where Robovenom got announced for Strive but they kept calling them Baker and Toaster and everyone was acting like it was a totally new character

genuine question i thought arachnids all had 8 legs, how is it possible for the roboky mite to only have 4? if the legs are that important wouldnt that make it an entirely different type of animal?
Taxonomy is just as much about genetics as it is about Features, and according to this article (Assuming I'm reading it right, don't just take my word for it) the simplest answer I can give is that Eriophyid mites are still GENETICALLY arachnids, but have evolved to be so tiny they have had to start losing features along the way, namely some pairs of legs. Passages I am simplifying here are screencapped under the cut
