Evie hadn’t seen Ryan since she broke off the friendship and she did miss him, it was just that she really had taken -A at their word. The more she’d thought about it, the more sense it made. Why would he want to be around her if not to get a rise out of Charlie? Evie sighed, dropping her bag on the ground and of course most of the stuff spilled out. “Fucking awesome...” She muttered. More reason for people to stare at her. She’d packed for Wales and was leaving in the next day or so but she needed to do some laundry before she went. Since her washing machine was broken, to the launderette she went. As she looked up, hauling the bag over her shoulder, she noticed Ryan nearby. Evie bit her lip and sighed. “Uh... hey.” Everyone in town thought she was a bitter bitch and that wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg... she didn’t expect much.

It had been one of those days... how old fashioned was it that everyone wanted her CV in person? That she couldn't just send it online. Regardless that was how she'd spent her day, trying to find a job which wasn't exactly going that great. She hadn't realised how late it actually was because if she had then she would have taken a different route home. Instead she had found herself walking straight past one of the Local's that she knew her dad liked to drink in. Abi hoped that after all this time he wouldn't even recognise her but there he was... Shouting, hauling abuse as she walked past. What kind of a father would rather their child die then return home? A drunken poor excuse of one. What made it worse was that he'd get up in the morning, probably crack open another beer and not remember any of it. The first person that came to her mind was Charlie, she needed to speak to him. Her brain was thinking Charlie but her body at this point was clearly in auto pilot. She knocked on the door as quietly as she could, knowing he could a little one now. "I know it's la--" Abi had started talking when the door had started to open, he almost felt her heart stop when she saw Ryan stood there. What the hell was he doing there? He'd already seen her when she realised her mistake... this walk home she had done a hundred times, if not more. She'd walked to his place not Charlie's. "I, um." Trying to hide the surprise, although she was sure her expression may have given that away already. "You said I had mail?” Her arms folded over her chest but at this point it was to fight the cold rather than him. "I was just passing so...” Again that was a lie, no one just passed at this time of night but what else could she say? My tired sad brain walked me here because it’s what I know? No, she couldn’t start with that.

Evie was looking forward to getting out of town and hopefully having a fun time and distract her thoughts because there was so much going on up there that she just couldn’t really take it anymore. She could kind of feel the destructive part of her struggling to come back up to the surface and it was a real task to keep it pushed down.

The drive to Brighton hadn’t been bad at all. Evie usually liked car journeys and the traffic hadn’t been the worst. So she wasn’t too moody when they parked up and she hopped out, smiling a little as they moved inside the hotel. “This place looks great.” She smiled, looking around. There was something exciting about staying in hotels but she couldn’t put her finger on it.

abi knew that she couldn't stay locked away in her apartment forever, that was not the reason that she returned to baberton. she was tired of running from her past, she was sick of not facing things but now she was back it all seemed easier said than done. abi had done everything she could to move on from this place, from everything that had happened but with leaving things so... undone she couldn't get past it. hence, why she was back. it was one of her first trips out, apart from visiting charlie and she figured that she'd just take baby steps. the park had always been one of her favourite places so she thought that she would start there. it didn't have anything to do with the fact that the weather wasn't great and she didn't think anyone else would be out there. her eyes focused on her dog that she was walking who still felt the need to run like a lunatic. she hadn't noticed the other person, practically ending up in there arms as she found herself pulling back quick to apologise. "i'm so sorry. i have --" her lips had started moving before she even had time to process who it was stood in front of her. once she realised, she took a couple of steps back or at least tried to break some distance between them considering how close to him she had been in that moment. close enough to smell his deodorant which he clearly hadn't changed since she had been with him. it made her hurt, it all made her hurt. "ryan."
