Dispatcher Maddie: 911 what's your emergency?
Ravi: I forgot to fill up the tank on the fire engine, we're stuck in the middle of nowhere and when Buck finds out it was my fault I'm dead.
Dispatcher Maddie: I'm sure Buck will understand.
Ravi: Maybe, but Bobby is gonna give me his patented "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" face, while Chim, Hen and Eddie try and fail to hide their laughing—
Dispatcher Maddie: Ravi, I need you to take a breath, ok? Now, can you tell me your coordinates?
Ravi: We are by a cloud that looks like a lion.
Dispatcher Maddie: Can you be more specific, firefighter Panikkar?
Ravi: it looks like Simba, you know, from the Lion King?

Sethurathnam Ravi, Former BSE Chairman Sees It As a Progressive Journey - GST Collections Gains Momentum in the Past Few Years
From July 1, 2017, a uniform tax on goods and services - marketed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "One Nation, One Tax, One Market" - replaced a bewildering array of local sales and entry levies. After years of pulling in 1 trillion rupees ($13 billion) a month or less, GST collections nowadays are consistently 50% higher. The technology has stabilized. Uniform taxation across the country has gone a long way toward making India a common market, logistics and e-commerce have benefited and apart from checking evasion, real-time data on supply chains promises to help small firms access cheap financing.
According to the former BSE Chairman, Sethurathanam Ravi there were some obstacles on the road of GST until its successful acceptance. He says that the way was not easy for GST to get accepted by the people, but surely it was progressive and has finally seen the outcome. After a sluggish start and underwhelming tax collections, GST collections in the past two years have seen a strong pick up. The average monthly collections have risen from Rs 90,000–100,000 crore in the first four years to Rs 1.20 lakh crore now. GST for May, collected last month, jumped an impressive 56% from a year earlier to 1.45 trillion rupees.
Sethurathnam Ravi also says that the Goods and Services Tax has been a major reform across India. It has changed the view of the people about taxes and even the superseding of many of the other small indirect taxes was itself a major reform. GST was one of the toughest reforms to be undertaken in the country, where states gave up their tax sovereignty in the larger interest of the country and taxpayers. GST has in a way helped better administration of taxes, increased speed in the flow of goods across state borders as well as achieved greater uniformity in rates across all states.
GST has also led to the creation of a whole new digital system for paying taxes, claiming input tax credits, generating invoices, e-ways bills, etc. The digital system, even with its many flaws, has helped administration of taxes and tracking tax evasion. The financial expert, S Ravi thinks that the more important factor is how we address to the lower category of people, i.e., the MSMEs and the SME's who have to bring in more awareness and to make the cost of compliance lesser.
Tumblr media
According to Mr. Sethurathnam Ravi, over the last 5 years, 47 meetings with the GST council had taken place and every meeting was progressive to address some of these issues. Presently the GST council demands the compensation (for the loss in revenue due to implementation of GST) that the Centre gives to states (initially for the first five years) to extend for another three to five years, a demand the Centre has not been too keen to yield to. The success (or failure) of GST now depends on the smooth resolution of these issues. The GST Council meeting on June 28–29 could give a glimpse of what lies ahead for GST.

S Ravi, Former BSE Chairman Shares His Views on Retail Investors Losing Interest In Stock Markets
The Indian stock market witnessed lakhs of new investors from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities during the pandemic. However, this enthusiasm seems to have waned as returns from the market have flattened in recent months. From a high of 20 lakh new investors in October 2021, it has dropped to 13 lakhs in April 2022. At a time when the Covid-19 pandemic and consequent lockdowns affected the economy, the stock market was one of the very few areas where the wheels were still turning. This attracted many new investors, and a record number of new Demat accounts were opened.
The future remained dark with the pandemic looming over us. The global supply chain was crippled. Yet, India’s stock market remained more stable than other markets. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that retail investors seemed to act as shock absorbers even when foreign portfolio investors went away.
Sethurathnam Ravi, former BSE Chairman acknowledges that, foreign portfolio investments or FPIs became net sellers for eight out of 12 months in 2021-22 with a net outflow of Rs. 1.3 lakh crore, against a net inflow of Rs. 2.8 lakh crore in the previous year. Mutual funds, on the other hand, made heavy investments worth Rs. 1.7 lakh crore in the Indian equity market in 2021-22, according to the Reserve Bank of India.
Tumblr media
There was a massive rise in the number of new Demat accounts. A total of 50 lakh Demat accounts were opened in 2019-20 and 1.42 crore in 2020-21. This shot up to 3.46 crore new Demat accounts in the year 2021-22. This means that on average, 28.8 lakh Demat accounts were opened every month during 2021-22, which was higher than 11.8 lakh accounts per month in the previous year and 4.2 lakh Demat accounts per month in 2019-20.
Experts including S Ravi BSE, former BSE Chairman suggests that ups and downs in the stock market are a usual phenomenon and that new investors should be patient during tough times. For many new investors, the market trend during the 2008 American subprime mortgage crisis is too old to be considered. “If the retail investors have used prudence and have invested in good stocks with strong fundamentals, they should not worry,” Sethurathnam Ravi, former Chairman BSE, told India Today. As a word of caution, Ravi added that retail investors should diversify their portfolios and should not take loans to invest in equity.

Sethurathnam Ravi, Former BSE Chairman - “CA’s Role Has Diversified Contributing To Nation Building”
Sethurathnam Ravi, popularly known as S Ravi is the former chairman of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE). On the 74th National CA Day, in an interview with BW Businessworld, Sethurathnam Ravi, currently Managing Partner, Ravi Rajan & Company and Chairman, TFCI reflects on how the role of chartered accountants has evolved over time both in practice and scope, becoming critical to a company’s, a sector’s and the economy’s growth story.
Tumblr media
The former BSE chairman explains how he has seen a CA’s role broaden over the years. According to him, “If you look at the earlier years the profession was about statutory audit and internal audit but later it migrated to other fields such as forensic audit, due diligence, merchant banking and also things like insolvency in recent reforms. The profession widened significantly from practice and participation in bigger changes. Today, we see many CFOs, CHROs, CTOs who started as CAs. There are many CAs in the banking sector as well. If you were to compare it with two decades ago, the role has completely changed”. He says that it has become much more diversified, and the ecosystem has changed given the various reforms due to which both the practice and scope are impacted.
Sethurathnam Ravi also shared his observation on the ICAI partnering on nation-building. In his view, the ICAI has played a very vital role. “We got independence in1947 and the institute was formed in 1949. You can see how the system recognized the importance of CAs at the time and they have been part of the nation-building process because CAs audit companies and are part of the growth story but we are also the conscious keepers and watchdogs to a great extent”, he says. He also explains that the CAs help in small-scale industries in imparting knowledge and explaining things such as budgetary, statutory and economic changes where otherwise the domain knowledge is limited. CAs help across this spectrum, contributing toward nation-building.
Sethurathnam Ravi also highlights some points on what more can be done to develop the next generation of accountancy professionals. In his opinion, this is a very important area of focus. “Passing a CA exam itself is tough but the training process should be intensified so they are ready for the changes taking place in the environment. So, more practical orientation is equally important though the institute has taken various steps of imparting practical knowledge even after people qualify the intensity of real-life problems to have to be increased”.
The 21st World Congress of Accountants 2022 will be hosted in India for the first time. According to Sethurathnam Ravi, this is the opportunity to showcase the accounting profession, which is globally well recognised. “It is time to show what Indian accountants can do, their depth and knowledge. Also, it will be in exchange for experience with all the leading countries and their accounting practices”, he concluded.

Thinking about the restaurant au! (And to everyone who has had suggestions, I promise I’ll respond soon! An interpersonal interaction sounds like a lot of work right now).
It would probably be a series of shorter fics with maybe one or two larger ones.
Featuring Bobby and Athena, married and retired from firefighting and police work respectively, co-owning the restaurant. Athena handles business. Bobby is manager and head chef.
Buck is a bartender (canonically, y’all remember?) Eddie’s the new server who’s also training on bar.
We have Maddie and Josh as our hosts and sometimes bussers.
Ravi is new and does food running and bussing to start.
Chimney is the most senior server. I might make Hen supervisor (Chim tried it and hated it).
Tommy is their emergency kitchen manager-who becomes part of the team.
A couple changes might be made to the line up, but that’s what we’re working with so far!
(Also if I forgot anyone or if you want to see any characters, let me know! I need a slightly larger cast for this)

the idea that they’re writing the season as they go so they’re seeing the reaction the audience has and that it (even in the smallest way possible) could have an impact on what happens this season (and in future seasons) is so wild to me. not saying that they’re seeing our response and saying “oh that sounds good, totally writing that in,” but it’s not impossible to say that they will see what the people want, realize the best way to generate buzz and excitement and increased viewership is to keep your fans happy, and then actually do something about it instead of killing characters/storylines just for kicks
911 has the opportunity to be that bitch even more than it already is and they shouldn’t squander it while they’re on top
#911 abc#yall remember dabb’s 10% comment bc i do!!!!#i just think they’re paying a lot of attention to promotion and audience reaction in ways that they never did before Because they want it#to continue performing as well as it is (which is to say better than it did on fox)#and because of that they can continue to make moves that benefit them and not hurt them ykwim#i want to be clear that this isn’t me saying buddie should go canon or even anything close to buddie specifically#but more that angering fans by just Deciding to do things or even worse KNOWING it’ll piss ppl off and doing it anyway is the wrong way to#make people want to keep watching your show#like if everyone is begging for more ravi (which we are) and they go okay! here’s more ravi i know you guys love him! that would be great#instead of slowly writing him off (god forbid even worse) just bc they wanted to or bc they know we love him#and they’re in the PRIME position to take advantage of the extra eyes on the show and making moves to make this season (ABC’s First with us)#and have it go down as not only one of 911’s best seasons (by ratings and views and fan opinion) but also a damn good season of television#is this just a pitch for ravi main s8. idk at some point it might’ve turned into one#i just think it’s cool how they’re doing the work they have this season with interacting with fans/the GA and doing promotion#it’s so well done it makes my marketing major heart squeeze a little#anyway. gay eddie 🤔#notes from the prime minister

It's season 6 but the audience hasn’t been able to emotionally connect with the main characters.
#6 of What’s missing from season 6.
Tumblr media
[Finally felt like completing this post even though it’s been sitting in my drafts since December 2022.]
Several things have been missing from season 6 including Maddie’s absence from firefam gatherings; Halloween and Christmas episodes; believable 9-1-1 calls; exciting emergencies; and good drama but the most important thing that has been missing are the emotional connections.  In previous seasons, viewers were able to emotionally connect with the main characters’ personal experiences and/or through the emergencies and most of the time both of those elements were interconnected.  However in 6A, aside from the two bottle episodes (6x3 “The Devil You Know and 6x6 “Tomorrow”), there were hardly any main character arcs that allowed the audience to become emotionally invested in them.  The remaining 7 episodes were fillers which made the emotional disconnect even more noticeable especially since the majority of the storylines that should have been serious were played off as jokes or were treated as afterthoughts.
Unlike season 5, all the main characters were present in 6A which means viewers should have been able to emotionally connect with them.  The show was known for being able to balance the humorous and funny experiences with the heavier sad ones or the good experiences with the bad experiences which ultimately prevented viewers from feeling empty, exhausted, frustrated and even angry after an episode ended but now, the show has become practically void of emotions.  Most of the emergencies are silly and don’t make any sense at all. Are people really fantasizing about having sex on top of a firetruck?  Or do cheaters really dig underground tunnels in their backyards that connect to their neighbor’s house so they can crawl through them to have sex with their neighbor’s wife?  Who’s approving these atrocious storylines because they certainly are not reminiscent of 9-1-1 before the original showrunner assigned a co-showrunner to OG for season 4 and now it has been left in the hands of someone who doesn’t appear to be capable of creating cohesive and emotional storylines?
The show is wasting entirely too much time on unbelievable emergencies along with one-episode characters instead of creating storylines that allow the main characters to demonstrate the emotional depth they clearly exhibited in the past. The ensemble cast includes actors and actresses who all have superb acting ranges but for some unknown reason, all the emotional elements of the show have been completely eliminated. Summaries of some of the main characters’ emotionally charged scenes from previous seasons have been included below to illustrate how the lack of emotional connections in 6A is one of the primary reasons why things felt off or like something was missing.
Athena  She was attacked in 3x17 “Powerless” by Jeffrey and even though the audience only saw short snippets of her fight with him, the emotional depth the scene had was palpable. Every portion of the fight could be heard through the 118′s radio along with Maddie’s headset and when the gunshot was fired, viewers gasped with Bobby and the others because no one knew if she was alive or dead until after the 118 arrived at the scene.  Athena’s storyline from 2x7 “Haunted” about Tonya Kingston was finally resolved in 6x3 and it was one of the two episodes in 6A that included the emotional depth that was missing from the other 7 episodes.  She finally had a conversation with her best friend Hen in 6x8 “9-1-1 What’s Your Fantasy?” but they spent the whole 2 minutes scratching off lottery tickets instead of talking about something important so that was a missed emotional opportunity.  Also Athena and Bobby still haven’t had a honeymoon so it would be nice if they were FINALLY allowed to spend some time alone together away from the LAFD and the LAPD since they are MARRIED!
Bobby  He relapsed in 1x4 “Worst Day Ever” after the plane crash and it was emotional to watch because viewers were able to see his internal struggle as he stood on the beach looking at the ocean. Also when Hen and Buck went to his apartment, the struggle he’s had with his addiction became even more intense because they went there to check on him and Hen told him that he could ask for help.  He cried after he admitted he needed help and that was insightful because Bobby is the fire captain and prior to his admission, he appeared to have everything under control. When Bobby saved May in 5x16 “May Day” during the dispatch fire, it was emotional for several reasons. First, he was given a second chance to save his daughter and it was a redemptive moment for him since he couldn’t save his daughter Brooke from the fire that he caused which killed his family and more than 100 other people in Minnesota. Second, May confirmed that he is her second dad when she told him that she had two dads and he was one of them. Third, the 118 came in to save Bobby and May after the roof fell on top of them and that scene was a real tear jerker because all of the original 118 members were back together again and they rushed inside to save their captain.  In 6A Bobby’s storyline was shoved into 6x9 “Red Flag” and it was treated like an afterthought because viewers weren’t given any background information on Wendell his AA sponsor; therefore how could viewers get emotionally invested in a character they didn’t know?  The answer is they couldn’t or they probably didn’t want to!
Buck  He’s been through the emotional wringer and his past experiences from seasons 2-4 allowed the audience to emotionally connect with him.  After the ladder truck explosion in 2x18 “This Life We Choose”, viewers felt his pain while watching and waiting for the truck to be lifted off of his leg.  The lawsuit he filed in 3x4 “Triggers” was intense too because it gave viewers a glimpse into Buck’s mind and it showed how far he was willing to go to get back to the 118.  Buck screamed and cried as he clawed at the ground with his hands in an effort to dig Eddie up from the collapsed well in 3x15 “Eddie Begins”; his fear of losing Eddie was palpable and his actions proved how much he loves Eddie.  The pain Buck experienced after he learned about his dead brother Daniel in 4x4 “9-1-1 What’s Your Grievance?” and 4x5 “Buck Begins” was detrimental for him because he was emotionally distraught and it showed in his eyes while he talked individually with Chimney and Maddie.  It was also traumatizing to watch him beg his parents to love him anyway.  After Eddie was shot in 4x13 “Suspicion”, the love Buck and Eddie have for each other was on full display and Buck’s catatonic state was intense because viewers could see the way he was struggling with almost losing Eddie and it was still evident as he strapped on his bulletproof vest while he stood in front of his bathroom mirror.  Buck is an extremely emotional character who shows everyone all the pieces of his heart and prior to season 5 viewers were continuously able to emotionally connect with him.  But season 5 is when things got weird because he was being written as a HIMBO again but he hasn’t been a HIMBO since season 1 when he stopped having sex with random people. Buck should have broken up with Taylor in 5A because he was unhappy but the narrative was changed at the last minute and he didn’t end the relationship until 5x18 “Starting Over”.  The reason he ended it was due to their ethical conflict which wasn’t shocking to anyone because he already knew she was unethical and he learned that about her in 2x6; therefore he should have never considered dating her especially after what she had planned to do to Bobby.  The cheating he did in 5x11 “Outside Looking In” and the sperm donation request he received in 6x4 “Animal Instincts” appears to be more about the showrunner not knowing how to handle his character. Does she know Buck’s character at all? The answer is NO!  If she did then Buck wouldn’t continuously be written to regress only to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.  Since his storylines in seasons 5 and 6A didn’t include any emotional resolution, viewers weren’t able to emotionally connect with his character.
Chimney  He literally had a rebar puncture his skull in 1x3 “Next of Kin” and the aftermath of it was emotionally traumatizing for him.  He finally faced his own mortality in 2x4 “Stuck” when a victim died after he fell into an escalator shaft and Chimney’s reaction to it was very intense because he was still struggling with his own feelings about the rebar incident from 1x3.  He was stabbed by Maddie’s estranged husband Doug at the end of 2x12 “Chimney Begins”; Buck found him bleeding out in front of Maddie’s apartment at the beginning of 2x13 “Fight or Flight” but Chimney was still worried about Maddie after he woke up in the hospital and the emotional toll their injuries took on the 118 was extremely traumatic.  Additionally the anger he felt for his father in 3x11 “Seize the Day” was evident after Albert showed up unannounced because Chimney believed Albert had a better life than he did since Albert had the chance to grow up with their father but he didn’t.  The emotional pain he exhibited in 5x4 “Home and Away” after Maddie left was sad because not only was he worried about Maddie; he was also worried about the reason why she took Jee-Yun to the hospital before she left.  He struggled with his emotions while he stood in front of the doctor who treated Jee-Yun and his emotions boiled over when he realized that Buck knew the reason why Maddie left but he didn’t tell him.  It has been different for Chimney in season 6 because he's being written like the comic relief again even though Hen clearly told him he was much more than that in 5x17 “Hero Complex” during their talk in the hospital.   All the emotional scenes he should have had with Maddie after 5x12 “Boston” happened off-screen, i.e., the over the road trip they completed when they drove back to L.A. from Boston, their breakup, they never went to couples’ therapy even though the synopsis for 6x1 “Let the Games Begin” said they would and the other emotional parts of their relationship as a whole have been PRACTICALLY NON-EXISTENT since season 4.
Eddie He’s always been emotionally complicated because he kept all his emotions bottled up and wouldn’t talk about them.  When his now deceased wife told him they should get a divorce in 2x17 “Careful What You Wish For”, he didn’t have a substantial reaction to it but after she died, he went to the beach and cried as he read the letter she wrote to Christopher. He was always in control and he admitted to Frank in 3x9 “Fallout” that he couldn’t feel anything like happiness or sadness even though he knew he should have been able to experience those feelings.   Before he went back to therapy and took it seriously in 5x14 “Dumb Luck”; he rarely showed his emotions to anyone except for when he was with Christopher and Buck.   Even when he broke up with his girlfriend in 5x3 “Desperate Measures” he seemed to be emotionally disconnected from the situation and he wasn’t distraught or hurt by the fact that he ended it.  But hey, that’s Eddie and his reactions to those situations weren’t surprising. The panic attacks he had in 5x1 “Panic”, 5x2 “Desperate Times” and 5x8 “Defend in Place” were emotionally intense because Eddie had already experienced a lot of different traumas that started long before he moved to L.A. and before he started at the 118. He explained the reason for that in 3x1 “Kids Today” when he told Bobby, Chimney and Hen that his father always told him to suck it up and keep moving forward.  His mental breakdown in 5x13 “Fear-O-Phobia” was realistic and heartbreaking because Eddie was hurting and it allowed viewers to finally be able to emotionally connect with him.  Eddie doesn’t allow people to see him when he’s vulnerable but he allowed Buck to see all of it.  His reaction to Buck being there for him shouldn’t have been a surprise because Eddie loves Buck just as much as Buck loves Eddie and Buck is the only person Eddie has ever allowed to see him at his worst.  Eddie never allowed his deceased wife to see him broken and crying and he didn’t allow his ex-girlfriend to see it either.  But in 6A, Eddie was sidelined once again and paired with Chimney to be the second half of the show’s comic relief duo instead of his therapy storyline being continued. It’s like the showrunner said, ‘Oh he’s all better now’ but if she would do some research to learn more about PTSD, she would know that healing is not linear and it doesn’t happen overnight.   Eddie hasn’t had any on-screen therapy sessions with Frank since 5x14 which doesn’t make narrative sense.  Also Buck and Eddie only had one scene together that allowed them to talk privately in 6x1 and the lack of their dynamic being included in the other 8 episodes during 6A was very noticeable.  Their relationship is pivotal to the show’s success so them constantly being separated for useless recurring characters every season is exhausting.
Hen She’s usually able to maintain her emotions until she gets home to talk to her wife Karen but there have been times when she was emotionally distraught in front of the 118.  In 2x5 “Awful People”, she cried after Karen told her they wouldn’t be going through it again with Eva if Hen hadn’t cheated with her in 1x7 “Full Moon (Creepy AF)”.  She felt guilty and viewers who could relate to her pain were able to emotionally connect with her.  Hen’s reaction to hitting that woman with the ambulance in 3x8 “Malfunction” was traumatic, palpable and excruciating because she was broken and the accident caused her to have a mental breakdown in the middle of the street while Athena tried to comfort her. Her reaction was so emotionally charged that some viewers cried with her. Bobby knew who to call and he did; therefore Athena being there for her best friend at one of the worst possible moments in Hen’s life gave viewers another way to emotionally connect with the character.  In 5x17, Hen’s reaction to Chimney’s heart being stopped twice was painstaking and traumatic while Jonah held them hostage.  The 6x6 bottle episode was the only other episode in 6A that included emotional depth.  Her reaction to Karen and Denny being caught in the explosion while they were at Karen’s job was believable and emotionally traumatic.  But the way her medical school storyline was handled was lackluster to say the least because it was rushed and it didn’t include the emotional depth that was needed to end it.  For example, in 2x6, Hen explained the reason why she became a paramedic was because she had been shot when she was 16 years old and the care the paramedics gave her was the thing that made her decide to become a paramedic after she changed careers. Therefore her reason for becoming a paramedic should have been highlighted as one of the reasons why she dropped out of medical school and decided to stay with the 118. After season 4, her medical school storyline was poorly handled and only resurfaced when the showrunner didn’t know what else to do with Hen’s character so viewers probably shouldn’t have expected a better ending.
Maddie Her life, like Buck’s, has been filled with emotional trauma.  She became a mother figure to her younger brother when she was 9 years old because their parents became emotionally absent after losing their other brother named Daniel.  She had to keep a family secret about the reason why Buck was born for more than 30 years which only added to her emotional turmoil.  Then she married Doug who was a piece of crap who domestically abused her for years while they lived in Boston, MA and Hershey, PA.  She left him and moved to L.A. to live with Buck but in 2x13 “Fight or Flight”, the emotional stress she experienced when her trifling estranged husband showed up was mentally taxing because no one knew if he was going to kill her.  He had already stabbed Chimney; Buck was frantically searching for her with Athena’s help and all of it was emotionally traumatizing.  Even though she went to therapy in 3x9, she continued going until Frank took her back to the woods so that she could let go of her past in 3x10 “Christmas Spirit” and viewers were able to release all of the emotional stress Maddie experienced when she killed Doug right along with her.  Her season 5 PPD storyline was good but it had several inconsistencies. For example, she could have gone to a treatment center in Northern California instead of Boston, MA because she didn’t visit the house she lived in with Doug while she was there, at least on-screen she didn’t mention it and it wasn’t insinuated that she did.  If she had visited it, then the storyline would have made more sense when she told Chimney in 5x12, “I had to stay here to learn how to stop running”.   Also Chimney chasing her across the country only seemed like a good idea to the showrunner(s) because he could have stayed in L.A. and had help raising Jee-Yun with her uncles, Albert and Buck along with the Lees but that would have made too much sense.  But season 6 has been emotionally void for Maddie because she’s rarely been present and when she was there, her scenes weren’t that interesting.  She was emotional in 6x4 because of the call she took from Claribel about Lourdes but other than that, Maddie’s barely been present and the time she spent with Chimney wasn’t great when compared with their scenes from seasons 2-4 and in 5x12. In 6A any growth their relationship experienced happened off-screen which made it difficult for viewers to emotionally connect with them.
The summaries above only include a few examples of the main characters’ emotional storylines from past seasons.  Emotional connections are important because movies, books, Broadway plays and TV shows are created with an idea of giving their audience some type of emotional reaction that includes happiness, sadness, fear, joy, etc. but unfortunately 9-1-1 has been missing the emotional mark for almost two and a half seasons.  In the early seasons, 9-1-1 captivated its audience by highlighting their characters’ emotional reactions but they abandoned that concept in seasons 5 and 6A. The viewers noticed and that’s the reason why things felt off or like something was missing.
Television shows represent a visual form of media which means the stories they’re telling should evoke emotions from the audience but lately that has barely been happening on 9-1-1.  There’s been a lot of telling after an episode ends and little to no showing before and during the episodes when they air. The character of Ravi is a perfect example of this because he was absent for the entirety of 6A but his absence was never explained to viewers while the episodes were airing.  There weren’t any one-liners from Bobby or anyone else on the show and it was made to seem like his character had been completely erased especially after he was cropped out of Hen and Karen’s vow renewal photo. That was until after 6x9 aired and the showrunner FINALLY mentioned the character during one of her post-mortem interviews.  The excuse she gave for his absence was the actor was on another show, which was true but that doesn’t explain why Bobby couldn’t have said something earlier in the season that explained why the character wasn’t on shift with everyone else. It’s interesting because the showrunner made time for LD to have a video call with the 118 for a 2-minute scene but there wasn’t one sentence made about Ravi’s absence.  That was a choice and the lack of attention his character received for all of 6A is inexcusable.
What happened to the emotional depth the main characters had in previous seasons?  It’s difficult for viewers to become emotionally invested when main characters’ plots were either completely unbelievable, didn’t make any narrative sense, abruptly ended and/or would be completely forgotten once the credits started rolling at the end of an episode.  It’s disappointing for viewers who were once emotionally invested in the main characters’ storylines because now their favorite show has been reduced to the same dribble that’s airing on other network stations.  Hopefully the main co-showrunner will start to divide his time equally again between OG and the spinoff so that this mess can be fixed but that’s unlikely since it appears his focus is on something he considers to be more important. Will 6B include any emotional connectivity for the main characters’ arcs? Only the showrunner, writers and producers know the answer to that question but if 6A was any indication of how 6B will be handled, it’s very unlikely.

Sethurathnam Ravi, former BSE Chairman shares his views on the successful 5 years of GST
Sethurathnam Ravi (S Ravi) is the former BSE Chairman and founder of Ravi Rajan & Co. Presently, Mr. Ravi holds the position of Non-Executive Chairman of Tourism Finance Corp. of India Ltd. and Director & Managing Partner at RRCA & Associates. Sethurathnam Ravi shares his views about the journey of GST in India as it completes five years since introduction.
According to Mr. Ravi, when the GST was introduced 5 years ago there were a lot of misgivings about how the centre and state governments will work together regarding the tax collection and how the distribution will work. In Sethurathnam Ravi’s opinion, compounded with this issue was the platform issue. At the time of the introduction of the GST, there was also the interpretation and the awareness issue from the SSE and it had also created a lot of confusion in that, he says.
S Ravi also explains the other obstacles that were on the road of GST until its successful acceptance. He says that the way was not easy for GST to get accepted by the people, but surely it was progressive and has finally seen the outcome. In his own words, “There were also issues of input credit, whether it is to be set up against liabilities. Then there were clarifications on that also, and there where issues on various rates that where there. So, I think over this last 5 years, 47 meetings with the GST council had taken place and every meeting was progressive to address some of these issues”.
Tumblr media
Sethurathnam Ravi also says that the Goods and Services Tax has been a major reform across India. It has changed the view of the people about taxes and even the superseding of many of the other small indirect taxes was itself a major reform. In this way people had to only pay one direct tax, other than paying many small different taxes. S Ravi also highlights the fact that, to streamline this, in the last few years we have seen, despite a strong covid outburst, a very strong recovery in terms of collection in the form of GST.
“I look at it that it has been a very progressive journey. It was full of challenges of acceptability. But now it has been accepted. And I think more important is how we address to the lower category of people, i.e., the MSME and the SME's who have to bring in more awareness and to make the cost of compliance lesser. And also, to see how the compensation sess is taken care in the future. These are few of the things that will come in the future. But it has been a good journey. And the rationalization is taken place at a very fast pace”, Sethurathnam Ravi concluded.

Presidential level jealousy (Chapter 4) "Dressed to kill"
Stanley Forbes x reader (Me✌️💖) (Romantic) Pip, Ravi, Cara, Jake, and Devon x reader (Platonic)
Below is a reference to what mine and Stanley's costumes look like, minus my Chucky one (Thank you Matthew for this pic😌💖)
Tumblr media
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"There's a killer stalking the white house and you're throwing a party!"
Said party the group was currently getting ready for, Pip and Ravi in their Bonnie and Clyde couples costume, Pip's hands still partially stained from helping Josh with his Batman costume before they left. Connor and Jamie both dressed up as characters from their favorite childhood show, Zack and Lauren in a disgustingly lovey dovey couples costume, they couldn't decide between an angel and devil or Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, settling on a mix between the two. And finally Cara, in her incredibly detailed Robin Buckley costume from her and Pip's Stranger things watch nights.
All getting ready to meet the others at the white house, of all places, Pip still wondered how they'd even managed to get in but thankful that they did, they needed to, to find Chucky and Grant.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stanley and (Y/n) were at their shared home also getting ready. Stanley normally wouldn't give Halloween too much attention, except it was (Y/n)'s favorite holiday. They both decided to at least dress up, both head to toe in black outfits with matching black eye makeup, nothing specific, just... spooky. The pair not wanting to go all out after the year they'd had, nothing too big, but still dressed up.
(Y/n) was sitting on Stanley's lap, facing him and helping him with his eye makeup, intermittently having to touch up certain spots from the smudges caused by your periodic make out sessions, unfortunately because of the situation you guys were dealing with you didn't have time for anything more. You couldn't help yourselves though, seeing eachother all dressed up. "What time does this thing start?" Stanley said, not even knowing himself if he meant the party or the plan.
"8:45" she smiled, causing Stanley to throw his head back, partially in annoyance at their time constraints and partially in adoration of her smile. "Hey I need to finish." She said, tilting his head back up, rolling her eyes. "But we have all night when we get back... if we don't die." And Stanley nearly choked on nothing. "Except for the trick or treaters." He countered, even though he was more than ready to see her being so sweet with all the children. No matter how fucked his past was she always found a way to make any part of it seem beautiful.
(Y/n) finished up Stanley's makeup, stepping away from him to put everything away as Stanley watched her closely from his seat, her other costume packed and ready.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8:35 pm, the group arrives at the white house, Halloween costumes and all, as if this year wasn't already scary enough. As they stepped out of the car it was like the coffee shop on steroids, security guards practically every few feet, large groups of people in costumes just, enjoying the holiday. They stood at the bottom of the grand steps staring up at the building. Jake in a cowboy Chucky costume, Devon in a construction Chucky costume, and finally (Y/n) in a girl Chucky costume, each fit with their own "accessories" in preparation for entering.
"Thoughts and prayers?" (Y/n) said looking toward Connor nervously who laughed uncomfortably in reply. Devon spoke next as they made their way up the steps. "I don't believe in prayer, not anymore, but I do believe in us." Jake nodding between the two. "Me too." Devon stopped as they were about to reach the entrance. "Let's do this for them." He said, referencing all the people Chucky had taken from them, aswell as the victim in Pip's case.
"And they'd want us to go fuck that fucker up."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As they entered they were met with more security, slapping bracelets on their wrists to mark their entry. "Next." (Y/n) walked through the the scanner first, immediately setting it off as she looked back towards the others nervously. The security guard waved the metal detecter wand over her partially exposed body, stopping at her head, the man mumbling under his breath and ripping the hair clip from her head causing her long red hair to fall down her shoulders. "What? Hey!"
"Next."
Jake walked through next, also setting off the alarm. "Whoa, easy cowboy. I'm gonna have to take that." The man said gesturing to Jake's lasso. "Seriously?" The man scoffed in clear annoyance, giving a sarcastic smile before replying coldly "Yeah."
"Next."
Devon walked through after, setting off the alarm, again. The man waved the metal detecter over Devon before patting him on the back, smiling.
"Have fun."
The rest of the group quickly following through, one by one, as (Y/n) and Jake rolled their eyes. "Fuck, there goes that. And my costumes ruined." (Y/n) said as Stanley jogged up to catch up to her. "You always look hot." Cara laughed, causing (Y/n) to shrug in agreement. "I still have my phone, so as long as we get Chucky on camera doing his thing, we can get it out there. We can tell Grant and the president, and Pip will have time to talk to Grant. We got this"
"Do we?!" (Y/n) asked, turning around to face the others. "Are people even gonna believe us? It's called a deep fake they'll just think it's special effects." Jake sighed in reply.
"Do you have a better idea?"
"No."
(Y/n) shook her head while the rest of the group listened. "We still have to subdue him somehow, he's won't talk just cause we say please, that might work on Grant, not Chucky." Pip crossed her frustrated with the holes in their plan. "We just have to work with whatever we find in here." Jake looked between the two girls before stepping past them. "We sure as hell aren't gonna find anything we can use on Chucky here." The group walking synchronized again. "We need to get upstairs to the residence." Devon said causing the others to look towards (Y/n), especially Stanley.
"Leave that to me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They walked through another very tall, very wide entrance into another room, this room even more packed with people dressed in costumes. Before they could take three steps into the room someone dressed as a clown jumped infront of the group, yelling inches from their face. "I hate Halloween."
Stanley knew that was a lie, probably the biggest lie she's ever told, and she's had to lie to him about Chucky. Halloween was always her favorite holiday, even after everything that happened on both sides for them. After what happened to Stanley she had even asked him if he'd be more comfortable if they didn't celebrate it anymore, he of course denied her offer, but thought she was the sweetest for even asking.
Past the decently sized fake cemetery archway was where most of the people were, dancing, drinking, laughing. The group walked past a mime doing a high kick, Frankenstein's monster, and about a dozen witches, all the masks around making Ravi feel uneasy. They stared at their surroundings in awe, looking at all the lights, the people, and the giant swirling hypnosis type screen behind the dj, before the group heard (Y/n) let out a shriek. "Boo!" "Oh, shit!" They turned to see Grant with his arms wrapped around her from behind, Stanley having to resist the urge to rip him off of her.
"Hey, (Y/n). It's so good to see you." Grant said pulling her into a hug. "Happy Halloween!" She smiled at him, nervously looking towards Stanley. "Oh, you look amazing." Shit. Now she was even more anxious about Stanley. "T-thanks. You too." Grant looked nervous too, about half as nervous as she was, but still nervous. "Oh, um, I want you to meet my parents. They're over here." "Oh, cool. yeah." Grant lead her towards them, the rest of the group following closely behind.
"Mom, dad. Hey, excuse me, sorry." Grant said nudging some important looking people away from his parents. "This is (Y/n), um, and Jake and Devon, and... everybody else." He laughed awkwardly. "Hello. James Collins." Grant's dad shoot (Y/n)'s hand. "Hi. Nice to meet you." The rest of their introductions following.
Stanley knew it was stupid, knew it wasn't that big of a deal but he couldn't help it, couldn't help feeling that deep pit in his stomach, a mix of sadness and embarrassment at the fact that he couldn't bring (Y/n) to meet his parents. That was what normal couples did, he'd met hers, but she could never meet his.
"I just love your outfits." Grant's mother smiled at them. "Our son Henry loves Good Guys too. And Stranger Things." She said gesturing towards Cara who did a little bow. The Chucky look alikes thanking her. "Mine's the best though, right?" Devon said, doing a little twirl, Grant's mother laughing. "It's very impressive." "I know a guy." Devon said, leaning closer to Jake who tilted his head with a smile. "I take it you're the guy?" "Yeah. Jake" Jake replied with a smile, everyone smiling with what seemed to be genuin smiles for once, letting their guards down for a second and just enjoying themselves, even if the topic still revolved around Chucky.
"(Y/n), I admit I haven't heard much because our son is pretty tight-lipped, at least with his family." His mother said looking over (Y/n)'s features as Grant rolled his eyes embarrassed. "But what I have heard is great." The conversation faded away as Grant's father seemed to be distracted by something, or someone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, Grant, where is your brother?" (Y/n) said as the group followed Grant. "Henry? Uh, he's upstairs. He's having some kind of, like, mental breakdown or something." Grant said shaking his head and shrugging. "Oh, is there any way that we could see the residence?" She asked, immediately seeing Grant tense up. "Oh, um, that's kind of, like, a whole other thing. I mean, you thought the invite protocol was hard."
"I mean," (Y/n) stepped closer towards him. "I'd love to see your room." Grant, aswell as the rest of the group froze, Stanley gritting his teeth. "Yeah, for sure, follow me."
This was gonna be a long night.
