2023 SAQA Spotlight Auction

My 2023 SAQA Spotlight Auction piece, Stitch Study #1, is shipped and ready for the Toronto Conference. Now, I eagerly await joining it in Toronto in April.

The final piece is 6” x 8”. The Spotlight Auction will be an online event taking place during the 2023 SAQA Conference Pathways to Possibilities. The auction will be available on Handbid to a worldwide audience. All proceeds will help support SAQA programs.

Due to the small size of the artwork, here are a few more images highlighting the scale and detail of my hand stitching process.

Daybreak, another of my experimental solar dye prints I’ve stitched up, this time as a donation to the SAQA Spotlight Auction at the upcoming conference. Size is 6” x 8”; it will be matted at 4.5 x 6.5 for presentation, as shown here. It’s a Shasta daisy image from last summer—flowers are the trickiest to capture, so I was pleased with this one! It made a nice amuse bouche to stitch while I’m in the midst of working on huge projects. Life in Abstraction

I am extremely happy to announce that my piece, Life In Abstraction, has been selected as one of the 45 art quilts to tour as the Shifting Tides: Convergence in Cloth - SAQA Show from 2019 - 2021.  The show debuts in California to coincide with the SAQA National Conference. The show then tours via museums and galleries in Alaska, California, Canada, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
