You have opened the floodgates. Be warned-

For starters, I think my favorite SCPs don’t always line up with SCPs I’d recommend to other people. And that’s simply because of elements of the SCP that make me feel wary about doing so. For that reason I won’t name those, but…

- My absolute favorite of all time is SCP 4205. Excellent coding, excellent storytelling, legitimately made me bawl. Go read it.

- I mentioned in another post that my favorite writer on the site currently is The Great Hippo, and I stand by that, but my favorites of their body of work would be the Murphy Law SCPs (3043 and 3143) and the Don Quixote (4028).

- 3008 wasn’t my first SCP by far but it marked my return into reading SCPs and it has some of my favorite antagonists in the Staff

- 4000 is also a big favorite, I think it’s insanely creative and it appeals to me as a big fan of fairy tales and folklore

- 2030 is one of my faves that I struggle to explain. Just is a favorite of mine.

- 4231 is one where you absolutely HAVE to heed the warnings but it’s incredibly well written and shaped most of my HCs on Clef as a character, so.

- final one I’ll mention is the SCP that forced my hyperfixation to make a resurgence, which would be 2264. I am obsessed with Alagadda. Ask me about Alagadda

Honorable mention would go to 1678 which I feel legally obligated to mention because I wrote a piece on it for a zine

Maybe i should clarify that SCP-3043 is it's own thing, and that "Murphy Law" character is another SCP entirely (check out SCP-3143 for that one.) Classpect both, maybe?

Oh man that was a fantastic read. I’ve only read 3043 yet but holy shit I can’t with this, it’s so good.

3043 is definitely an Active Class, who also gives me big Caliborn Vibes with the all-caps speak and meta knowledge. The ability to rewrite reality, to take the ‘story’ of what’s happening and change it, a Change Class, Witch, was my first thought, but I don’t think it quite fits. I’m thinking of a Thief- Waiting, hidden, without raising suspicions, the idea of Stealing the Story, the plot, perhaps a Thief of Breath? Overwriting the direction of what has happened and had to happen, although Mind as Choice and Free Will make it a nice contender.

Murphy himself is so good, turning the narrative all Noir and playing it out. He’s a helper, but not a Hero, so there’s not such a strong Passive/Active lean that I have right now. Space, manipulating the entire setting, was something that popped to mind, but I know there’s more about him in 3143 soooooo...

asfafsa- This keeps getting better. I know there’s a whole Murphy Law Hub, but I also like keeping some of the mystique and imagining the rest. So maybe some other document could clear things up but I like this as is right now. And I am thinking, after a while, a Maid of Rage. He’s a Metafictional character- Made of Contrivance, he’s not a real, physical entity, constrained to his Medium, but using it, at the same time, to interact with the real world. He flattens reality for a period of time into a Narrative Structure, Making a Play out of it, and Creating Roles for the characters to play. He is Murphy Law. The man you call when everything that could go wrong... Did. As in, he’s someone that’s there to Fix problems, putting them through a Noir-esque fiction Metanarrative- One who Heals through Rage.

Do you like the scp Foundation? If you do what your favourite entries?

I do! I don't know many numbers by heart but... My least favorite are humanoids most of the time. I like the bizarre alien-ness and unexplained nature of many of them, and so many times humanoids and talking ones end up lame, and often enough kinda creepypasta-y "I AM GOD" in vibe, you know? There's exceptions though!

Other than that, I tend to like ones that play with the SCP formula, ones with extensive research or exploration logs, that sorta stuff, but I also enjoy chiller and more classic ones though!

To mind come... 2521, 3887, 3000, 2678, 4000, 3043... Other than those I remember one that was a portal in a lake, a few creepy ocean pocket dimensions, the endless blank space of a scp office with weird statues, the hallway that loops into a very slightly different alt reality, and that super long one that's just, an entire site that got out of control and got warped to another reality.

I’m always reading scps on my phone and then leaving up the tabs of the ones I liked with the intent of recommending them later but then I forget. so here’s a quick list of some scps I like. I usually prefer ones that are sweet, melancholy, or funny to just scary

3223 a friend

3201 lot of lore, information delivered in a variety of ways including visuals, nonhuman intelligence portrayed well, good melancholy feeling. a favorite

3131 interview is really good, unique concept

3111 short, weird, and charming

3101 this is one involving sex that I don’t find horrible which is amazing. I mean it’s kind of uncomfortable but the way real people are. also a lot of story and ethics related stuff if you like that

3092 just cute and funny

3082 this one has a lot of depth to it. the sting at the end really got me I didn’t see it coming

3043 really funny. sometimes I find super meta stuff annoying but this cracks me up
