#SEE THE FIGURES OF HOW MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME WERE RUSHING IN TO BUY DS GAMES!

Can we please bully Nintendo into leaving the Nintendo DS eStore open like we did with bullying the Sonic the Movie team into changing the design of Sonic?
Think of all the games that we now can't play because the only modern backwards compatible system is now out of production. Especially the ones that are/were download only.
Tumblr media
I commute at least 2 hours to work and back almost every day. And I carry my 2DS with me all the time. Mainly to get the step count so I can get the coins but also to see if I can get a street pass. The switch cannot do that!
I would definitely not bring my Switch on my commute because it's too big and too expensive so it's a big enough target to be snatched. Also, I don't want to damage my switch. Being on a bus that's probably half my age (I'm 20) combined with bad pavement, roadbumps, and bad breaks means that I definitely won't be risking my only modern console. My 2DS is small and sturdy enough for my hands to have a tight grip on it. The Switch does not have that safety...
Tumblr media
Also, my phone's battery dies quickly and I normally forget to charge my phone before leaving work so I go play on the DS. The DS is my go to travel console as stated earlier. Also, Switch doesn't have streetpass... Sad. A missed opportunity. One of many that Nintendo have ignored/missed out.
Tumblr media
I know I'm on a rant here. I'm angry and sad that Nintendo basically shut down the eStore MONTHS before they said they would ( You can't buy anything since last Monday. I only found out the hard way today. They said they were shutting it down on Feb next year...) and THAT HURTS. (See update)
Tumblr media
As someone who likes to spread out the spending because I want to buy the games I want to play, this hurt because I now have to move to Amazon to buy the games whilst using the Nintendo eStore to see what I want. And a lot of the time at a higher price which puts me off a bit. Also, I have A.S.D and A.D.H.D so I'm even more upset as my planning has now gone out the window and I'm stuck with 170+ tabs of games that I was gonna sort through and buy from Nintendo.
And I'm a chicken for not wanting to Homebrew/mod my DS. It was my first console and I don't want to risk anything software wise to my precious. I'm sentimental! Okay! Also, I've never been a good pirate...
Tumblr media
Lastly, (never promise on this. It will never been the end of this sadness...) NINTENDO IF YOU INCREASE THE PRICES FOR THE SWITCH STUFF NEW/OLD YOU HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME! SEE THE FIGURES OF HOW MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME WERE RUSHING IN TO BUY DS GAMES! LOOK ON THE INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA TO WATCH THE VIDEOS OF PEOPLE TRYING TO GET A STREETPASS IN 2022!
I really want to know the figures of Nintendo DS family VS Nintendo Switch Family. Especially from when they first announced that they were closing the DS/WiiU eStore.
NINTENDO! YOU WENT TWO STEPS FORWARD AND ONE STEP BACK WITH THE CREATION OF THE SWITCH! Yes, it's amazing, brilliant, portable ( to a degree), family friendly... BUT not as much as the DS family was.... IF YOURE GONNA SHUT DOWN THE DS ESTORE YOU MIGHT AS WELL MAKE US A BRAND NEW DS CONSOLE THAT CAN PLAY THE SWITCH GAMES. SMALL, DURABLE, COMPACT, STREEPASS, BLUETOOTH/AUX CABLE COMPATIBLE... EVERYTHING THAT THE MODERN DS FAMILY HAS BUT INTO AN EVEN MORE MODERN CONSOLE.
I should've been in bed around an hour ago. But I needed to get this off.... Because I can. And there's a chance Nintendo *might* read/skim through it. And I'll take that chance even it it's 1 percent.

Thoughts on Ralph Breaks the Internet
Tumblr media
Back in 2012, I really adored Wreck-It Ralph, I thought it was a super fun movie, I enjoyed the characters, and the idea of these arcade characters mingling together via the power strip was an interesting concept.
My idea for a Wreck-It Ralph sequel included interacting with video games in home and portable consoles (ie Wii, PlayStation, DS, etc). But Disney decided to aim bigger and went for the Internet...
I’m pretty sure after the dumpster fire that was the Emoji Movie everyone was worried about another movie centered around this type of technology. But, I figured, “this is Disney, if anyone could pull it off, it’s them”
And...I was right. The way they handled the world wide web was way better than that-other-movie-who’s-name-I-will-not-repeat. Yes, you still see websites like Google, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. but you know what they did differently? Most of those websites were not important to the plot.
The only one that’s important is eBay, because the characters need to get a part in order to save a game from being permanently unplugged. That’s the reason they venture into the Internet. Any other site the characters needed to use were original (KnowsMore, BuzzzTube, Slaughter Race, etc)
But the rest of those real sites were just there to be there, or there for a quick gag (like Twitter).
SPOILERS AHEAD!
In the climax where Ralph and Vanellope are fighting off the Virus, Pinterest and Google are just there. You could switch those buildings to anything else and the plot would not be affected.
Whereas in that-other-movie-who’s-name-I-will-not-repeat, you can’t switch out Just Dance or Candy Crush without rewriting the script first.
I never felt like the movie was trying to get me to buy something or to use a certain website. So, on that front, Disney did a great job at making this Internet feel real without shoving product placements down our throats.
Another issue I’ve seen is that there are too many self referential jokes by Disney. Such as the Princesses and everything to do with Oh My Disney. And yea, I can see why people take issue with that, but as someone who loves Disney and lived a stone’s throw away from Disneyland...I didn’t have a problem with them. I thought the Princesses were funny, Vanellope’s “I Want” song was so ridiculous I couldn’t help but laugh and it was neat to see Disney characters walking around for a brief moment. I didn’t feel like they overstayed their welcome.
Could I have done with less of those types of gags? Yea, probably. If Disney wanted these types of gags and crossovers, they’d be better suited in a movie like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Disney movies have been getting heavier on the self-mocking humor recently...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, after being around for close to 100 years (oh GOD!!) you’ve earn the right to mock yourself.
Alright, enough with me defending this film, I’m a Disney apologist, whaddya want from me?
Outside of what I’ve already said, what did I like, what didn’t I like, so on so forth?
I liked the message. And I liked that Vanellope chose not to go back to Sugar Rush, but still keeps in contact with Ralph.
Despite how little they were in the movie, Calhoun and Felix were hilarious. Do I wish we got more from them? Yea, but they stole every moment they did get onscreen.
They didn’t use all the gags from the trailers. Some of those gags never show up. Vicious Meeko? Not there. Merida’s dialog about her movie? It’s changed to something else. Pancake Milkshake? Well...
The mid and end credits scenes. Stay for them.
I did wish we could’ve seen what was going on back at the arcade during Ralph and Vanellope’s excursion. (I’m not gonna complain about the lack of video game references in this movie because I’m pretty sure the first one had more references and gags centered around candies than anything else).
Sooo, are the citizens of Sugar Rush just totally cool with the fact that their leader is now gone? Is the new leader Sour Bill?
Was it a slow day for Fix-it Felix Jr? Cause Ralph was game jumping while the arcade was open.
I liked that, really, there was no twist villain in this one. The thing Ralph needs to overcome isn’t some evil video game character, it’s his own insecurities about loosing Vanellope personified.
King Candy was both right and wrong. Vanellope was loved by the players, but because of her, Sugar Rush got unplugged.
Where’d the second player chair go? There were two chairs for Sugar Rush.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vanellope’s “I Want” song, oh my god. It’s hilarious that she got one, but the fact that ALAN FREAKIN’ MENKEN wrote it (he wrote several Princess “I Want” Songs such as “Part of That World”, “Just Around the Riverbend”, “When Will My Life Begin”, and “Belle (Reprise)”) AND it got a pop cover at the end was great (I’ve noticed Princess “I Want” Songs get Pop covers in the credits).
The animation on the Slaughter Race characters and avatars. The player avatars are stiff in their movements and the characters walk a few inches off the ground and have a little slide in their steps and I love that attention to detail.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The instant Ralph walked into the comments section, I was like “Oh no...nonononononono!!” And I like that they showed that the Internet is both a positive and negative place, even if they showed the negative side for a brief minute.
Say what you will about the scene where Ralph is riding on recent trends to raise money, him pretending to be Bob Ross was great!
KnowsMore was cute. I loved that his eyes felt 2D animated . And all he wanted was a “ please” and “thank you”.
Tumblr media
Ok, that’s all I got. I did enjoy this movie, and it was great to see these characters again. If you’re looking for a fun movie that also panders to your Disney side a bit, give this movie a watch. If you’re looking for video game references, wait for it to come out on digital or Blu-Ray.

Traveling the World
Small Explanation
Well I have decided to start writing entries about topics I find interesting! So, today that topic will be about traveling the world. Of course I am not an expert in anything about this and I will be placing my own point of view and opinion in all of this. If you have a different opinion and wish to share it, you are welcomed to send me it via message or ask! Also, these are types of guides based off of my opinion so please if you think I’m wrong, don’t be afraid to comment!
Starting Plans For Your Worldly Travel
To begin planning for any world travels, its obvious you need to know where you want to go. For example, you could want to visit Taiwan or Egypt. But, what do you need to do to be able to get there without any problems? First off, you gotta set your mind on what you want to do over in Taiwan or in Egypt. This is where your planning begins.
By stating what you want to go do in the country of your choice (currently using Taiwan and Egypt as examples), you should first off know what the country has in store for you! Egypt has camel tours, so you could put that aside as a goal to complete when you travel over there. That is a must do, investigate the country and see what it offers to tourists like you and me! Honestly, I’ve heard of people who go to places without knowing what they do over there and don’t even enjoy the trip because of so.
Then there’s the monetary part of all of this! In case of the money, if you are an adult, I suggest have a box or jar or anything you can think of that can hold money in it without it falling out of the entrance. Use, lets say, a jar. Label the jar with (again, using Egypt and Taiwan as examples) “Trip to: Egypt and Taiwan”. Once you label it, set it somewhere you can always see it and remember it. Now, every 15 days (in the case of my parents) you receive your paycheck, right? Well, after paying all your bills you’ll still have some money left to indulge yourself and your family. Just by depositing your loose change in the jar can lead you to getting at least a hotel stay. So, you can try putting in your loose change and, from time to time, any valued dollar into it so the quantity increases! It’s something that really does help and it would help you when the time comes to buy the passport and/or travel visa.
Packing Your Bags
When packing your bags, think of everything that is necessary. Lets say you have two small kids, ages 3 and 4, and they get uncomfortable or bored in long drives or plane rides. Pack a small activity backpack apart from your large luggage case. Airplanes usually (so far it’s what I’ve seen when I travel via airplane) allow you to take a small bag with you to keep in the storage compartment. Pack in that little backpack two travel sized coloring books, small packs of crayons, one or two action figures (or dolls if you have girls) and, if your children have Gameboys or Nintendo DS’s, pack them too. Keep at least 3 games per unit so the children can vary from game to game and wont bother your reading!
Now, clothing luggage! Women obviously take their makeup, right? Well, pack the NECESSARY makeup! Don’t go taking all of your contour brushes, contour pallets, 10 lipsticks, 5 lip gloss, 6 perfumes... No! That will keep too much space in your luggage. Take these few things and honestly, you may feel naked, but trust me, it’ll be worth it!:
-compact powder (don’t take a very old one that’s about to break... buy a new one so you don’t have to worry about buying a new one throughout the trip!)
-one or two lipsticks, choose your favorite tones or buy one that is cheap and take it with you.
-one lip gloss (maybe you aren’t a lipstick kind of girl? I know I’m not!)
-one perfume (too many perfumes will either break in your luggage and spill, or make your bags heavier)
-one small eye shadow pallet (make it a pallet that DOES combine with your wardrobe!)
-one eyeliner (trust me, you’ll be in a rush to get out of the hotel and you’ll maybe even forget about it)
Apart from makeup, don’t take too much clothing! It’ll be harder to pack on the way back than it was when you were traveling over to the other country. This is what me and my family do: 2 pairs of long jeans, two pairs of short jeans, about one shirt per day, if you have a special occasion obviously the clothing for that and the shoes, 3 pairs of shoes (one pair of comfortable walking sneakers, flip flops, and a pair of sandals to go eat dinner with), a lot of underwear (who knows?) and very few accessories.
 The Day Before Your Trip!
Leave everything ready by the door for the next day. All you’ll be having to pack in the morning are your hair brushes, tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoo, and your phone chargers! It’s a lot easier than finishing putting away clothing in the morning, which can cause you to either be late for your flight or miss it.
If you have pets, leave plenty of water for the day, get someone you personally know for years and trust very well to go feed your pets. Leaving their food there all day can either be eaten by birds, get ants, or the pet could eat it all in one single meal and not have enough for later.
Turn off your energy supply switches EXCEPT for your fridge’s switch (if you live in a house). This can help you not lose anything electronic if the power goes out and power surges start occurring.
Watch the news the night before so you know how the weather will portray for the morning (or evening) of your trip so you know what precautions to take such as leaving earlier or closing your windows, etc.
Most Importantly!
The most important thing you have to do is enjoy your trip and have a lot of fun. I mean, you’re finally relieving yourself from the daily life stress! Get a massage! Go sit by the beach with a coconut beverage! Go party in clubs! Go crazy! (But not too crazy to get in trouble! Please!) Plus, enjoy your time with your family... You may have them today with you, but you don’t know if you’ll have them next to you tomorrow... Have a safe trip! :D
