yes absolutely, i imagine that too! conversely, i think mihawk would have a little bit of trouble adjusting his balance and reach with a body missing one arm, as well. it's interesting to think about how they both would be forced to change their fighting style, and whether or not they would exchange swords.

mihawk's been seen using yoru with just one hand so he could probably pull it off with shanks's body. also interesting to think about shanks tripping up on having two arms until he naturally slips into his old fighting style again--or would he? because there's also the question of muscle memory, right? would mihawk's body automatically do things that shanks isn't predisposed to doing, and vice versa?

the other thing i find intriguing about body swapping in one piece is the question of whether or not your haki powers would switch as well. they say haki is spiritual presence, so presumably your haki switches if your spirits switch, but if it's the kind of spirit that's tethered to the presence of the body? then consider mihawk having the strongest conqueror's haki out on the blues, or shanks being able to use observation haki at mihawk's level, practically being able to predict the future--or mihawk, able to counter with shanks's haki-kill technique. food for thought!

I just had an idea for an interesting Animorphs plot point if they could acknowledge trans people exist.

So the kids need a human morph to infiltrate something (obviously this would be later in the series when their morals had been slightly warn down) and they find a perfect person to replace. So they knock her out, aquire her, hide her away somewhere where she won't be in the way for the mission, designated infiltrator morphs her... why does the morph have a beard? Why does she look so different? Oh she's trans, this complicates things. Mild panic because she looks so different post transition and they don't have time to find someone else to replace and oh no oh no oh- Rachel steps in and takes control of the situation, she may be Xena warrior princess but she is also a master of make overs, she quickly gets the group to help get her what she needs to do a quick makeup and household items transition, won't be perfect but so long as no one looks to close it should work.

I feel it is important that no one is to misgender her at any point during this, Ax might be allowed to as the group's designated bigot but it's shut down fast, but I'd still prefer to keep it trans positive

haru/katara is a weirdly underrated ship imo. like ignoring the fact that he’s only really in one episode, he really is the perfect synthesis of what people want aang to bring to the table and what people want zuko to bring to the table in a relationship with katara.

like aang, he understands what it’s like to be persecuted by the fire nation, and aids her in her revolutionary praxis. they bond over being targeted for their bending and having their families ripped apart by the war. like zuko, he’s a cool older boy with beautiful flowing hair, who loves his mom, who’s angry but sensitive, etc etc. he thinks she’s the coolest, and is inspired by her courage, compassion, and conviction.

plus, he’s neither the avatar nor the firelord, he’s literally just some guy, so she’ll never feel overshadowed in their relationship, like she’s just some trophy to a man instead of a hero and a legend in her own right. haru can be the handsome little purse dog boy toy she always deserved to have, without any external factors getting in the way. not to mention his parents already love her, which is always a nice bonus.

so.........yeah. pretty crazy how powerful a single bad facial hair choice in your teens can be. let this be a lesson to men everywhere.
