so meg is out here suggesting that she and sam are the same: they're acting out of love and loyalty. it's an interesting line with a lot of layers.

first of all, what is sam doing? i imagine the obvious answer is that he's pursuing revenge—meg brings up mary and jessica here to cement that conclusion. but when you think about it, that's not what he's doing at this point in time. after scarecrow, sam admits that while he still wants revenge, he's willing to run the marathon so long as it means staying with dean.

after scarecrow, revenge is an afterthought, and with nightmare and the benders, the suggestion that revenge will make a monster out of sam is glaring and sobering. after his run-in with max during nightmare in particular, sam begins to divert his attention toward saving people over everything else. and at the beginning of shadow, too, sam and dean are just checking out a regular case—they only stumble into meg's trap for them by accident.

the point is, sam is not pursuing revenge right now. it's not off his mind completely, but it's certainly not what he's doing. what he's doing, rather, is hunting small-scale with his brother.

with this understanding, meg's statement takes on a new meaning: sam his hunting with dean out of loyalty and love.

and then meg declares that this "love" sam is acting on is like the love he feels for mary and for jessica.

so here's another layer. jessica and mary are paralleled, and meg is implying that the love sam feels for both of them are the same. there's an interesting pause here: that em dash says a lot. mary is mentioned first in meg's list because she, too, is acting out of devotion for her father.

so it makes sense to compare azazel and mary—they're both parental figures. but then meg extends this by including jess. meg therefore implies that her own relationship with azazel is not just that of a father and daughter, but also an incestuous, sexual one. her feelings for azazel resemble sam's feelings for jessica. she becomes a manifestation of incestuous desire by her own admittance.

and sam is just like her.

so meg is implying that sam is acting out of the same kind of incestuous love that meg is—they're the same after all, and on a narrative level meg functions as an allegory for sam's fate.

the conclusion, then, is that sam is hunting with dean out of a love that is simultaneously like his love for mary and like his love for jessica—an ambiguous love that blurs the lines between the familial and the romantic and the sexual, blends them all together.

it's an interesting line. on the surface it's rather innocuous, but when you give any amount of thought to the meaning behind it, the implications really start to pile up. meg is loyal to her father and helps him with his plans because she loves him. sam is loyal to his brother and hunts alongside him because he loves him.

like the love he has for mommy—and jess.

I’m fortunate enough to be going to the Creation Ent, Las Vegas convention in January. So I asked Kami to do this for me so that I can have the actors all autograph the same thing again. This is what Kami came up with, I just had the general idea. I’m so beyond excited for the convention and to get to show the actors another one of Kami’s brilliant and beautiful works of art! They liked the first one so much at NOLA 2021, and I’m excited to have them autograph this one too.

Sprinting for prizes! Last week, we asked if you would be interested in doing writing sprints in the discord server for prizes and we got quite a response! So, later this week we will do our first competitive writing sprints. We'll start easy, With just two 20-minute sprints, and whoever writes the most words in one of those sprints will get to pick a prize from the Pond Prize Pool. This one is scheduled more with Europe and those further east in mind, but this won't be the last one, and we want to have these at varying times so everyone gets a chance to play at least once a month. He did seem to really push the Danneel at cons thing this weekend. Saying he tried to get her to go for years but she claimed it was "his thing" (good cover up for 'no one wants to see me'). It doesn't feel like a concerted effort to shoehorn her into cons. They did it with SPN and it seems like they might try to do it for cons too. Which makes me wonder a few things - did he ACTUALLY want her to do cons for years? And does he ACTUALLY want her to do them now? And if so is it just for the added income? Because he honestly seems miserable in her presence so I can't imagine wanting to spend additional time with her in a fan setting where he has to pretend to like her.

I feel like a lot of what was said this con (or at least reportedly said) was just a bunch of fan service. All the talk about doing a project with Misha, doing more cons, having multiple things in development, having Danneel attend more cons, etc. was just a bunch of fan service. It's the same as J2 talking about the future SPN reboot at nearly every con. Give the people what they want to hear and they'll come back.

I doubt on a personal level that Jensen wants to be around Danneel more than he has to (which may be why she didn't attend cons in the past), but if it's more than fan service, I think you're right that it would be more about the money than the actual con. The only project we know Jensen is currently attached to is Rust. Beyond that, he has his music and the conventions. There's still no 'press release' about his new project despite having teased it in Las Vegas two months ago, which makes me wonder if the project either fell through, or his involvement in it did.

@star-that-howls the show was overshadowed by spn, and the fandom is extremely niche, scattered. very few antis ( usually ), and you can pretty much ship everybody with everybody ( except uriel ). despite the plot holes and revised material, its still cheesy as hell & extremely fun. ask me anything about it & i'll be able to give you a good explanation

Legion ( 2010 ) is the loose prequel film to Dominion's ( 2014-2015 ) television show. God becomes disillusioned with humanity and plans to wipe them out. Given numerous chances and squandered them all. Of five archangel children, He enlists his youngest sons, the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, to kickstart the apocalypse by killing a chosen child.

One that much later plays a pivotal role.

Michael, having seen the goodness and faith humanity holds, defies his Father. He breaks the halo keeping him to Heaven ( a metal collar ), and cuts off his wings. Choosing to side with humans against his heavenly kin.

Demanding the babe be given up, God tests the inhabitants of a diner in which Michael finds himself. The "site zero" of the apoc, and the child's birthplace. Born to a mother whose husband left her, and a man who selflessly loved the woman with all he had, even though she may not love him back. The dogs of heaven and all manner of pestilence assailed them.

Through the ultimate sacrifice, Michael goes against his own brother. Gabriel arrives with the sounding of his horn and the breaking of the seventh seal, the gates of Heaven close for good. Their Bond is broken, their connection severed. They, in this universe, redefined what it means to be loyal to a cause. The extremes some are willing to make.

The child yet survives as the world crumbles. Michael dies, but is soon resurrected.

Gabriel's hordes swept across the surface of the earth, bringing the 21st century to a standstill. His minions lacked their own bodies, so their first line of defense were to steal ours. They were, again, the angels of the Lower Sphere. With grotesque, black-veined skin, sharpened teeth and wicked intent. Brother turned on brother, friend on friend, and so on, and so forth.

Pockets of survivors fought back, but losses grew. Over the next five or so years, more than six billion lives were lost. In late 2018, an assault on the eastern seaboard wiped out every heavy metropolitan area. Communications with Europe went completely dark in 2022, with Russia and the rest of Asia the year after.

In his blind arrogance and misguided belief that humans were the root cause of God's disappearance, Gabriel underestimated what mankind was capable of. Small battles devolved into guerilla retreats in the southwestern United States. From the northwest and east, all able-bodied fighters were spearheaded under General Edward Riesen, who marched towards Hoover Dam.

Split between the angel army, Riesen ordered his troops to envelop their enemy. A last stand by cracking the Dam's foundations. Deaths were severe, less than a billion, roughly sixteen thousand after triumph. Altering the landscape in a deluge, they had ended Gabriel's ability to wage large-scale war, and Riesen was awarded accordingly. Retiring to Las Vegas as a Lord, he renamed the city to Vega, appointing Michael as protector, rebuilder and advisor. 

Twenty five years' worth of climbing from the ashes yielded a new hope. Rumor had it that Michael has saved the child and placed them within the confines of Vega's V-System. Waiting for the time to reveal the savior and have them inherit God's Markings -- a last message left by the deity.

One that would guide humanity to coexist with the angels, or destroy them all outright.
